  Hello.

  I'm a 3D artist, but recently due to popular demand, I am learning Illustrator for the sole purpose to make floor plans (those colorful artistic), I am very familiar with Photoshop and use it extensively, it would be certainly enough if I wasn't going to print the plans in multiple dimensions, even using smart objects and vectors I don't think Photoshop is the tool for the job.

  I downloaded illustrator and so far I'm liking it a lot, I think it's the right tool for the job. However, I couldn't find a quick way to draw the walls with precision.

  The biggest problem is that I couldn't find a way to 'offset' paths open quickly... when the way is open, it compensates the lines on both sides, as opposed to the closed roads, the way I found is to use the Scout to split shifts to remove the ones I don't want , but it's a pain, it is better to just draw the sides of the walls separately instead, which is a tedious process too.

  I'm looking for simple ways to offset paths open to a specific aspect, or maybe make some traits that are adjacent to the paths, so I can use the tool 'contour Contour"to convert them into 'solid' paths, or another way to get the same result.

  I know that Illustrator is no CAD program, but I don't think I asked too much of him.

  Way the easiest way is via the width tool.

  Just use the width tool and Option/Alt click at the ends of the path and drag the marker width up to the path. This creates the line on one side of the path:

  

  Once you do this, you can save the profile of the race:

  

  Then apply just select the profile in the Panel of the stroke or the control bar.

  Illustrator centers inherently strokes on all open paths. There is no other way to offest stroke I know.

  I have a problem in reading the text. I tried to open the file with "reading worksheet file. VI. I think that there is a problem in the format and precision. But I can't draw the graphs correctly. I have the text file that I have attached the first column is the x-axis and I love to draw the other 6 columns to that.

  Please help open this file so that I can see all the graphs.

  The file looks like perfectly suited for "reading spreadsheet file. How you have configured this VI?

  Be sure to read data from precision DBL and use the TAB as the separator.

  Probably you need data transposed for the way you try to draw it?

  You can post your VI?

  EDIT: or the zeros at the end of the file are probably causing problems in your tracing code.

• Problem with lines in Illustrator using the Wacom Tablet

  Hi all

  I have no idea why I'm having this problem in Illustrator. I use the small Intuos Pen Tablet (CTL-480), and my lines in illustrator is really strange. Even when I turn off the pressure in the brush settings, there is a gap in the line (it takes just one line of the same thickness). The Tablet works perfectly in Photoshop, but because I use the tablet to create art using plates (typography), it is easier and better for me to use illustrator. You are not sure that someone else had a similar problem or know maybe a setting I could change or try to fix it?

  This is a known issue.

  If all you want is a line single width, do not use brushes. Use the pencil tool and a simple blow

  If you apply a calligraphy brush, apply the effect zig - zag to it with a value of 0, then a setting of about 100 (turn on the preview to adjust)

• Problems of precision 690

  I have Windows 10 technical preview on my 690 and I can't. I try to run the Dell technical support. It gives me this:

  "We are unable to recognize the service tag detected through our analysis. Please restart the scan or contact technical support for assistance. »

  What is happening with it? I entered my serial number manually and also used the software to detect it. Any suggestions?

  It worked! Everything is off the Execute Disable bit: in Bios/security and Win10 loaded on the Dell Precision 690 with no problems. Thanks for the idea! {:>) I guess I'll have a spare MB now at least. Was only about $30 with installed 3 GHz proccessors on Ebay. Thanks again!

• Problems sharing in Adobe Illustrator for iPad (low resolution)

  I work with a high resolution photo in Adobe Illustrator drawing App for iPad. In the photo I'm creating vector graphics with integrated brush, then when you're done, trying to share/export the picture/drawing in its version high resolution. I went through all (I think) all share options, only to find out my photo and graphic vector were reduced to a tiny PNG. I would like to print these images on a large scale, but am doing so based on the problems that I have described.

  The sharing features are intended for platforms where matter the size of the file, such as Facebook, Behance or whatnot.

  To obtain the version high quality of the images, you will need to send them to Illustrator or Photoshop. And you need a CC version to be able to do.

• problems of text with illustrator cc (mac)

  Hello world

  I've been using illustrator since not so long and I'm having a few problems with my project and I hope you can help.

  I typed a text with ostrich without Inline and I wanted to paint the Interior of the letters parts in white so I created outlines and then I took out the compound path.

  as soon as I started to paint letters, those that have been closed (such as the letter R) wouldn't let my unpaint the formula to the letter.

  Does anyone knows how to fix this (I think it's pretty easy, but can not do the job)

  Do not remove the hole. To actually do a compound path.

  Using the white arrow direct Selection tool select the hole and the R and then go to object > compound path > make.

  If the result is weird, cancel, wear the hold at the front (in front of the (R), and use the object > compound path > again.

• Less problem of precision before

  Hi guys -.

  I used the pathfinder tool about a million times with no problems whatsoever, but today I'm short on a question that I can't find a workaround for.

  I am using this text (which is a compound path) to cut on this black background (which is also a composite path). However; whenever I have it try, Illustrator change my ways and sets the text slightly less-than-desirable. Make a compound shape works very well, but unfortunately this is going to be cut, so I need the black object to actually have the path cut.

  

  Anyone know anything about this? Is this a bug?

  You have run in snap to grid of pixels. Select all your art and uncheck snap to grid of pixels in the transform palette. Then uncheck the align new objects to the pixel grid.

  Updated documents in place in default RGB to this unless you uncheck the box for the new document.

• External video problem of precision M6300

  I am trying to hook my M6300 precision for some projectors using the VGA port. However, any projector I hang up he says "no entry". I don't have this problem with DVI but many projectors that I meet on the road isn't a DVI input. I have my poster value clone because I like to be able to see what is the projector behind me on the screen of the laptop in front of me. • Problem when copying form Illustrator to Photoshop - change of Dimensions

  Hi guys,.

  Having a very annoying problem that I noticed since the last update CC.

  
  If I have, say, a 100 x 100 mm square in Illustrator and I copy and move to Photoshop, create a new document using the Clipboard in the preset, it gets the evil mm dimensions. My understanding is this should be consistent and not affected by things like the DPI/PPP and that I never had the problem before. It's by everyone in our studio and we all miss the Mac of CC version.

• Problem of groups Adobe Illustrator CS5.

  I work under windows xp using Adobe Illustrator CS5, and the problem is that when I have a some objects in an illustration of the Group and save this picture as a file * .ai, then send it to a customer who uses the MAC, the groups are getting involved. The customer has even sent me a screen captures, and the groups are REALLY involved.

  Some items that I initially gathered are not in the same group any more, some objects of a certain group who somehow became part of another group.

  I build my images on a single layer with multiple sublayers.

  Can the building illustrations with every single group on a separate layer to fix this? Am I missing something? This is the first time I encounter this kind of problem. Help, please.

  I remember never to happen, but it sounds like corruption to me. But I don't know if it is on your end or your customers.

  I use a mac and am will open your file and send you screenshots so that you can compare, if I open it fine then the problem is probably with your customer?

  But they might not like this.

  You can also try to send a pdf or a .ps file they can open the file directly .ps AI without distillation it.

• Workflow problem - how to stop Illustrator by selecting the top layer after each record?

  One of the great things about diapers is the ability to have items in a locked layer above the layer you are using. However, when Illustrator finishes savings, he selects the layer and if the layer that is locked and then you travel constantly in the layers palette to select the layer that you worked prior to backup - I need to that 50 - 100 times per hour.

  Yo know what - I think this may have something to do with having "Create a PDF compatible" off in la - like preferences.

  I designed a menu for a client in illustrator and saved as a PDF file. That, once I record looks like this...

  

  The customer has now come back to me, because when they download it from the site of printers it looks like this...

  

  I tried registering in different sizes and uncheck and check some options in the PDF save menu but whenever it is downloaded on the website of the printer, it comes out looking bad (not always the same, but still lack of pieces or pixelated with the color changes)

  Anyone have any ideas where I'm wrong? Still, it looks good on my laptop, it's just when it is transferred to the site of printers?

  Sorry for the confusion 'export' - my brain was operating in indesign.

  Here is what I tried it - I don't have illustrator here at home - so I used my work VPN to connect to a machine that has CS5:

  analysis-

  file was created in Illustrator 5.1 (part of the CS Suite 5.5).

  No spot colors

  file size is 9.6 MB

  no purge on document

  work plan is 4.25 x 6.25

  all objects appear to be vector

  the text outlines is

  I tried to make it work and can have a solution (I made a new file, but it is 11 - probbably too big for e-mail)

  possible solution:

  1 make a new layer and make sure it is the top layer

  Select all the text elements (VEGAN, the address block, all the menu items) move them to the top layer.

  2. turn off that layer

  3. Select all the original layer - go to object > rasterize - in the dialog box that opens - the pixelation CMYK value - 600 dpi - then click OK - this will rasterize the baskground.

  When he finally... back on new layer - save the file under a new name (if you still have your original intact).

  4. your PDF for printer this NEW file.

  I have attached a jpeg image of what it should look like your finished document (assuming that the finished piece is supposed to be 4-1/4 x 6-1/4) he may need to bleed more (top, bottom and right side).

• You cannot position not precisely shape illustrator.

  I try to position a shape precisely to the position zero on the canvas. I enter "0" in the field of the position x and Illustrator, he jumps to-. 5 pixel location.   Check, if the Align attribute to set pixel grid is enabled. See Panel processing and manual.
