Problem of reinstallation of Windows 7 in the book of NB406AV which came with pre-installed Windows Vista

I have a HP Pavilion dv7t-2000 CTO Entertainment Notebook (P/N NB406AV) supplied with Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit pre-installed. However, the laptop is eligible for the Windows 7 upgrade program and I got the kit upgrade (education and Windows 7 upgrade media) HP. I've upgraded to WIndows 7 Service pack 1.

Now, the laptop has accumulated a shere rates of virus/spyware/malware etc and unusable slow operation.

I want to reinstall WIndows 7 in order to clean it thoroughly.

I ran the manager upgrade HP DVD. So I ran the drive of the Windows 7 operating system. Chose the upgrade. I got the following error:

The following problems prevent upgrade Windows. Cancel the upgrade, perform each task and then restart the upgrade to continue.

  • Your current version of Windows is more recent than the version that you are trying to level to. Windows is unable to complete the upgrade.

The upgrade of Windows will affect the following programs or devices:

These devices may not work properly after the upgrade. Before the upgrade, we recommend that you update the drivers for those devices. Cancel the upgrade, open the control panel and search for "update device drivers" or go to the website of the manufacturer of the device to search for updated drivers.

  • Keyboard filter

As a result of some messages in the support forum, I uninstalled 'HP Quick Launch Buttons'.
Then tried to run the upgrade. I'm still getting:

The following problems prevent upgrade Windows. Cancel the upgrade, perform each task and then restart the upgrade to continue.

  • Your current version of Windows is more recent than the version that you are trying to level to. Windows is unable to complete the upgrade.

Please ADVISE HOW can I REINSTALL WINDOWS 7 and CLEAN MY NOTEBOOK PC ONCE AND FOR ALL.
Thank you

Vidya, thank you very much for your super fast response. I followed your option no. 1. The PC is now 2 Windows 7 upgrade. There seems to be a problem with a driver/software. After a start, I get a pop-up window with "HP MediaSmart has stopped working". Close the application. Any suggestion?
In addition, how can I upgrade to Service Pack 1?
Thanks again.
