    Hi Heinz von Appen,

Thanks for asking! If I understand correctly, you want to know if you buy the license of Windows 7 If you buy Windows 7 pre installed.

If you buy a PC with Windows 7 installed, it is not necessary to purchase a separate license.

  • HP Pavilion dv7-1240us: Pavilion dv7-1240us | Does not - battery LED flashes constantly

Greetings!  I bought a laptop HP Pavilion DV7-1240US.  When the battery is connected to the laptop and the power adapter is plugged in, the battery light flashes continuously in intervals of 1 second.  When I take the battery, the laptop power not on at all.

I did a hard reset of the laptop, I checked the ram slot connections, deleted and reinstalled the hard drive and still can not get the system to work.

When the battery is connected to the laptop, if I press the power button, while the battery LED is lit, the system will try momentarily in power all keys quick adjustment on the Strip at the top momentarily illuminate, and he tries to switch to the top, only to die as soon as the led turns off.

Does anyone have an idea what could be the cause of this? I would like to point out that the caps lock and caps lock Num-buttons Flash at all, and there is no beep sounds to speak, so I am at a loss.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

  • There are red lines throughout the screen on my Pavilion dv7-1240us laptop

Pavilion dv7-1240us, windows vista 64-bit, without updates to the system

There are red lines throughout the white background screen, it's very annoying. I was wondering if it could be the graphics card or is there a fix for the firmware/software that can be done to correct this situation. Everything seems to not work properly

    You are welcome.

  • Wireless driver for Pavilion dv7-1240us

I just reinstalled Windows Vista on my HP laptop and the driver for the wireless card is missing. The one on the HP support site does not work. Does anyone know where to find the correct for a Pavilion dv71240us PC laptop wireless network controller driver?

    Hello:

According to the device ID string you posted, you have the Atheros AR5B91 Wireless Network Adapter.

Try this driver and see if it will work:

  • HP Pavilion dv7-6c02sm USB 3.0 only works with the 2.0 speed;

    Hello

My HP Pavilion dv7-6c02sm has 2 USB USB 3.0 ports on the left site of my laptop. Currently, I installed these "sp55102" driver - Renesas Electronics USB 3.0 host controller driver

When I connect my WD 1 TB USB3.0 ports chip I just get the message that he could run faster if I connect through a Super speed USB3.0.

I tried all ports and all give me the same answer. I googled for a manual and myself made sure that my USB 3.0 are on the left side. And ports give me the same notification so I think it will be a driver problem. Could not find a better then sp55102.

When I copy files, the left USB ports work at a lower rate than normal USB 2.0 on the right side.

On the side USB 2.0 right arround 25 Mb/s and the left a USB 3.0 starts at 25 and plunges in 13-15 Mb/s

I formatted my drive and installed new firmware for my external hard drive, but it does not solve my problem so I'm pretty sure it's a driver issue, but I can't find a more suitable, more recent and better driver.

    Product: A9X57EA #BED

    Help, please. Thank you

    Hello

    Ok... I've solved the mystery

After hours hours of research online I thought that it is mostly a problem of windows 7 because windows updates are not installed to the end. In the end only USB worked with 3.0 but there was an optional windows update install and atfer install the optional update (which is dealing with something) the two USB 3.0 working at a speed of 120 MB/s

Also, you should check your chipset on the following link

    http://www.Intel.com/p/en_US/support/idyp

If you use the latest version on the drivers to install Renesas Electronics USB 3.0 host controller driver. I found this to be the last version USB3.0_allOS_2.1.28.1_PV

So if anyone has the same problems with his speed USB3.0 and make the message "this device can perform faster if you connect it to a Super speed usb 3.0" is really the solution. You need to update your system with windows update and by that I mean, you want to be rushed to insatll everything to the system and upgrade your windows to the possible limit maximum!

  • Pavilion dv7-6b55dx: loss of internet connectivity wireless with Win 10 update

I have a Pavilion dv7-6b55dx notebook with Intel Centrino - N6150 wireless network card. I've recently updated to Win 7 to win 10 64-bit.  The first negative consequence is the deactivation of my wireless internet connection. The without wire/switch market stop on the keyboard is more worked as planned but simply tilted airplane mode on or off.  I followed HP troubleshooting for wireless connectivity problems associated with Windows 10 improvements, including the reinstall the NIC driver wireless, without any positive result.  It seems that 10 Windows does not recognize network N6150 map.

Anyone know if there is a fix for this problem (Microsoft? HP? Intel?) In the meantime, I came back to the Windows 7 operating system.  If there is no patch or another solution at this moment I may decide to go with a wireless USB adapter, but prefer not to do this, if possible.

I did not have a facility clean, but simply ran the standard upgrade ensuring once again I did it using a Wi - Fi and ethernet not.  It worked very well - fully operational wireless connectivity.  Thanks for pointing out the importance of having wireless enabled when you upgrade!

    Hi there @SVJ69

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! It's a good place to find the help you need, so many other users, the HP experts and other members of the support staff.

I understand that you get a white screen when you turn on your system. I'm happy to help you with this. I would recommend that you start with searching through this page. Since the construction in and external display do not respond, I would start with the displays.

This can help more evenly. If another hand, you get error messages, or a repetitive pattern of flashing LED, let me know.

I would like to buy a drive HARD Seagate 4 TB ST4000LM016, 5400 RPM, cache of 128, which is 15mm thin. He'll be back in my laptop?

Also, I would like to ask questions about the other models of hard disks that would be able to work with graphics programs, including Adobe Premiere CS6 and above. I need better, faster rendering and export of speed. Also, the hard disk must be at least 1 TB of capacity, or even better.

Thank you very much for your answers!

Does not fit 15mm. You will not be able to get the closed access cover.

You could get a full SSD 1 TB that would satisfy any concern for speed, that you may have, but will be provided to or simply more $ $300. The other option is to get a 1 TB drive 7200 RPM with the largest cache of reading possible. Something like this:

A SSHD, which is a cross or "hybrid" of a mechanical and solid state drive is also an option:

  • Pavilion dv7-4000 1 replacement of hard drives with more

I have a dv7-4000 series double portable hard drive running windows 7 64 bit. One of the drives died and I am looking to buy a replacement and want to upgrade, but I'm not sure if I have 2 hard disks of different sizes.

    (1) can I replace factory bad HARD drive with a larger 320? (I'd then 1 factory 320 GB drive and 1 car again, more)

    (2) is the brand of the material of hard drive (Toshiba courses)?

    (3) are there any specific specs I should look for or avoid (ie. rpm, Gbps, etc.)?

Hi wweksjk! : Yes, you can have 2 HD with different capacities for example on my PC of Xion MSI, which was built in 2006, I had 2 HD Western Digital, respectively 160 GB & 250 GB divided into 3 partitions

the brand name is not as important as the number of turns faster the car turns your computer will be faster

also look at the size of the buffer on the disk as well because the more it will speed up the boot time as well

However install a new drive as boot drive will be complex, but if you follow the instructions that come with the HD installer it is possible

for example, a 7200 RPM drive is faster than a 5400 RPM, but not as fast as a model k 10 or 15 k

    Good luck

hope this helps to & help

    Happy holidays!
