Problem opening PDF

The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you are using. You see computer system information to see whether you need a x 86 (32 bit) or x 64 (64-bit) version of the program and then contact the software publisher.

Whenever I try to open a pdf file, even if it is a pdf file I created on my computer, I get this pop up! Help!

Looks like you need to go to http://www.adobe.com and download the Acrobat reader software.  Alternatively, you can go to http://www.download.com and download Foxit reader.

Good luck.

  • Problem opening PDF files .zip

I have 2 computers, both computers according to me to be configured identically.  Windows 7 x 64.  A service provider allows you to download a 'bundle' of PDFs in one zip archive.  One of my computers will open the .zip file in adobe merge all PDFs in a single document from the opening.  The other computer keeps giving me the error that .zip is not a supported file type.  I have reviewed the registry settings and made some adjustments based on other messages from the forum, but none solved the problem. Work computer using the software adobe reader 10, no computer started working with adobe 11, I tried to uninstall and install an older version, nothing helps.  Help, please!

My advice is to check the ZIP files with care. Since Acrobat is a not any tool to combine the contents of a ZIP into a single PDF file automatically, one of these two things is likely:

    1. the download is actually different for some reason any.

    2. There are additional software making the combination

My money is on '1' and I would recommend that you try to take the 'ZIP' file on different computers to compare.

  • Custom skin of RH9 WebHelp: problem opening PDF of custom button

Hi, I have been troubleshooting and audit forums, trying to figure out how to get a PDF file to open it from a custom button on my skin to WebHelp. This worked for me once, but I changed something in the document and tried to download the new version and there out wrong since then.

    PDF Issue 2.png

I want to be able to open the PDF file in a new window and the custom button (called 'Printable PDF' on my skin), so I use the JavaScript code customized in the field "click on" the components of the custom button: window.open ('print_test.pdf "printWindow," "," menu bar = 0, resizable = 0, width = 900, height = 500, scr ollbars = 1');  I know that the script is good because I have the same script for custom support button and it works fine. The only difference between these scripts is the support script calls a .html instead of a PDF file and the names of window says "supportWindow" instead of "printWindow.

    .PDF Issue.png

I tried to delete and recreate the custom button, change the JavaScript with the help of the developer, generating assistance on another machine, thinking it was a little problem with my browser (using IE8) or license RoboHelp and comb through the help files for many times. I also made sure that the PDF file is stored in project and records of the skin as well as the other project files/files. I have used previous versions of RoboHelp and had no problem attaching a document Word and PDF, so I wonder if it is a bug in RH9? So much more than that worked for me at first. Any help or ideas are welcome! Thank you!

    Hello again

Try disabling MOTW and generate again. Test it and jump through the hoops THAT MOTW you don't have to jump through. (Yellow information and stuff toolbar)

My guess is that MOTW is inhibiting things. Once you publish this content on a server, you should be good.

    See you soon... Rick

  • Problem opening PDF files in Safari

    Hello

Whenever I need to look at a PDF file in Safari, I get the following message: ""before displaying PDF documents in the browser you need to launch Adobe Reader and accept the end user license agreement, and then quit and relaunch the browser.". In fact, I downloaded the latest version of Adobe Reader (11.0.7 I think) a few weeks ago to try to help out a customer, but immediately remove/uninstall the program once I found an answer for the customer as I did not need Adobe Reader since I was Adobe Acrobat Pro XI. I had no problem before installing Adobe Reader. It seems that Safari thinks that Adobe Reader is my default PDF reader, even if I don't have it anymore. I tried to look in Safari preferences tab under plug-ins Internet security and manage Web sites. I found that Safari is indeed to use Adobe Reader, even if I didn't do it, but cannot find how to remove it from Safari or replace it with Acrobat Pro. Someone knows how to fix this? I'm sure I can probably just download Adobe Reader, but I'd rather not.

    Thank you in advance!

    Josh

Firstly if you have installed the reader, then it will install the Adobe PDF plugin Viewer at this location:

    / / Library/Internet Plug-ins /.

If you have Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat is installed longer, then proceed as follows:

    1. go to > go to the menu of the folder (command + SHIFT + G)

    2. paste in the path: / Library/Internet Plug-ins /.

    3. click on the Go button

    4. Select the file 'AdobePDFViewer.plugin '.

    5. click on the control, and then select move to trash

6 authentication with your administrator password

    7. Select the file 'AdobePDFViewerNPAPI.plugin '.

    8. click on the control, and then select move to trash

    9. authentication with your administrator password

    10. close the window

You should now be ready to go.

    Hi Joanne,

If you are unable to display the toolbar by choosing View > show/hide > elements elements toolbar, please send along a screenshot of what you see. (And just double check that you open your PDF files in Acrobat and not player - that is a mistake that I make here and there).

  • Problem with pdf for the opening of the health gov Web site.

Problem with pdf for the opening of the health gov Web site. I use my ipad in Safari and have installed the application to adobreader. Healthcare gov support only suggested to disable the pop-up blocker. I did, and I couldn't always open the file. No problem on a desktop computer regardless of the browser.

In my view, they spend on their web server to a document ECM server authentication. Someone else has the problem?

I tried the Penguin, Chrome and Atomic browsers on the ipad and the same issue.

    Thank you!

    Keren

Okay, actually, I think that there is a problem with the type of form. It is a form of a special kind (called a form XFA or Designer, for what it's worth), which can be opened with Adobe Reader and only on Mac or Windows. There is no iPad software that can read these.

Try to install the update mode without failure or another account admin user. If it works, check if you still have the PDF problem. If so, try what is displayed below links Safe Mode.

    Safe mode - subject

    Safe mode - Yosemite

Make a backup using Time Machine or a cloning program, to ensure that data files can be recovered. Two backups are better than one.

Try to set up another admin user account to see if the same problem persists. If back to my Mac is enabled in the system Prefeences, the guest account will not work. The intention is to see if it is specific to an account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.

Isolate a problem by using a different user account

If the problem is still there, try to start safe mode using your usual account.  Disconnect all devices except those necessary for the test. Shut down the computer and then put it up after a 10 second wait. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the SHIFT key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. Startup is considerably slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a check for directory and disables all start-up and connection, among other things. When you restart normally, the initial restart may be slower than normal. If the system is operating normally, there may be 3rd party applications that pose a problem. Try to delete/disable the third-party applications after a reboot using the UN-Installer. For each disable/remove, you need to restart if you do them all at once.

If it works in safe mode, try to run this program when it is started normally, copy and paste the result in a response. The program was created by Etresoft, a regular contributor.  Use please copy and paste the screenshots can be difficult to read. On the screen with the Options, please open Options and tick the boxes in the bottom 2 before the race. Click on the button "Report share" in the toolbar, select "Copy to Clipboard" and then paste into a response. This will show what is running on your computer. No personal information is shown.

  • Firefox doesn't open PDF - I tried most of the help topic, nothing has worked

For a week or more, FireFox wasn't able to open pdf files in the browser. The page is empty, nothing happens. Im still able to click with the right button on a pdf file and make a backup action if.
Ive read several other subjects and tried some things like change the preferences on what program should open the pdf file, or how it must be open (or rather save as). None of them worked.

One solution, I have not tried, that might work, but should be my last resort, would be to uninstall and reinstall FF.
We hope to see if anyone has a tip about thow to change this.

Note: there is no if long I updated Adobe version (v2015), which is actually named "Adobe Acrobat Reader DC" now.

  • Cannot open .pdfs in Firefox

My wife machine is running Windows 8.1, Firefox 34.0.5 and Adobe Acrobat X Standard. Cannot open .pdfs in the browser. Clicking on a link to a .pdf file will open a new tab which will close immediately, leaving me right back where I was, as if I had never clicked the link. I can right click and then save money, download the file and open it in Adobe Acrobat X. But this is not what I want, and not the way it was designed.

Internet Explorer 11 open .pdfs in the environment described above, in the browser, with no problems.

I followed all instructions at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/972278 and http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/cant-view-pdf-web.html. Instructions for Mozilla or Adobe can get operational.

As a nuclear option, I uninstalled Adobe Acrobat, rebooted the machine, uninstalled Firefox, restarted the machine, re-installed Adobe Acrobat, rebooted the machine and re-installed Firefox and rebooted the machine. Attempt for opening yields .pdf to the same result, even after uninstalling and reinstalling everything. What happens here? Why Firefox opens a blank tab and then close it immediately? Block jump - rises is set to off, and blocking the windows blocker disabled.

My own computer that is running Windows 7, Firefox 34.0.5 and Adobe Acrobat X Standard opens .pdfs in browser very well, without any problems.

Any advice? I'm pulling my hair out! Thanks for your time.

    Hey,.

    Try the following:

    • Go to setting (3 bars) > options > applications.
    • Under the applications Panel.
    • Find Portable Document Format (PDF) from the list and click on it to select it.
    • Click the drop-down arrow in the Action column for the above entry and select the name of use (in Firefox) PDF reader or preview in firefox.

If the PDF files are always downloaded instead of poster, try these solutions
    Reset download actions

    • Open your profile folder:

    Click the menu button

    click Help

and select troubleshooting information. The troubleshooting information tab will open.

In the section the Application databases, click view folder. It will open a window with your profile files.

    Click the menu button

    then click on leave

    Delete the mimetypes.rdf file.

Then open firefox again and see.

    I hope it helps.

  • I can't open pdf files in firefox, and I tried all the solutions proposed by others. How can I reactivate pdf in firefox?

I have recently switched to Firefox to Google Chrome, and I find that I can't open all PDFs from the web in some way in Firefox. I can't download them and open them in Adobe Reader and I can't preview them in Firefox, or I can use the plugin from Adobe. I tried to use the solutions posed by users on this site, but none of them have worked. Whenever I have an amendment to the settings to try to resolve this problem, change never allows me to view the pdf file, and the setting reverts to the previous setting after the browser is restarted. I don't like how to display the file, but I need to be be able to see a preview or I need to be able to download it.

I use an adobe download add-on, 3.0.0.2, and I have disabled. Now, I can actually open pdf files in my browser shows a preview, or download them as I see fit. Thank you!

But clearly, there is an error with the add-on.

  • Cannot open PDF files

I have a HP Pavilion desktop pc with card mother at660a and that you just download the latest Mozilla fire fox and now I can't open PDF files when I am still on the web, can I open then, but as soon as I insert in downloads on my drive hard all the that get is a blank page with the exception of the border etc. but no script , by the way this pc has never used Mozilla firefox.
But when I use internet explore that it's ok, I have Mozilla on my other PC and I have no problem, but they are charged with an earlier version when I try manually open with Adobe reader, he tells me that the file is corrupted hope you can help thank you.

For some reason, your Firefox is who identified himself as version 9 instead of version 19. If you select help > about Firefox, can you verify that you have version 19.0.2 or click Find updates and get the current version?

19 of Firefox has an internal PDF Viewer. To switch to a different Viewer, see the following article: How to disable the built-in PDF Viewer and use another Viewer. Note that this does not apply to earlier versions of Firefox.

Finally, please note that current versions of Adobe Reader 10.1.6 and 11.0.2. For your safety, make sure you have a current version.
