Problem OS update for blackBerry Smartphones

Here's the situation. I was upgrading my OS 4.2 to 4.5 OS and in the process my phone was hit on the table and disconnected from the usb. I reconnected immediately, but it did not work, it says I need to restore my blackberry, but now the Desktop Manager does not save the blackberry. Also, the blackberry does turn on it just has the red LED flashes. All the answers?

Friendly to ask how.

  • Firmware update for blackBerry Smartphones

Because of the usual problems of MMS with Blackberry 8100, I suggested updating the firmware with the version 4.2.1.101. I found another version, I think it's a newer version, the 4.5.0.55.

    I need to know:

1 should I try and install the 4.5.0.55 or maybe it's not correct for my phone or not solve my problems with the reception/sending MMS (which, at the present time, is impossible)?

2 - is enough to make a backup with Desktop Manager - in case I have problems with the new version and want to return to the older? What are the backupped of data, the current firmware and all my personal data - contact, activities etc., or only one of these options?

Thank you very much to all the world, I'm really in trouble - need to MMS for work and my impossible to subscribe internet provider plan!

It could be a limitation with the device, not the SIM card.  I use a BlackBerry Sprint device, and I can't send and receive MMS messages.  However, if I had to switch my number on a regular cell phone, then I could send and receive MMS.  I just guess that it might be the same problem you are having.  Which carriers do you use?

You can not save the previous firmware, only the data on your device (which again, is always a good thing).  When you connect your BB to your PC, start the Desktop Manager to the top and click on the Save icon.

If you want to have a copy of the firmware that you have now, in case you want to downgrade to it, you will need to check on your carrier's Web site, or Google search perhaps.

If you have the old and the new firmware (not just downloaded, but installed) on your PC, you will be prompted to update your device when you connect it to the PC.  To downgrade, just uninstall the new firmware via Add/Remove programs and connect the device again - you will be prompted to downgrade.

  • Software update for blackBerry Smartphones

I have a Bold 9700 and tried to update the software etc. today and got 361 tasks out of 399 by using the update, when an error message came saying there was a problem with the internet?

He was not, everything worked very well using the normal browser, so no one knows what went wrong.

I turn off the anti-virus half way thro'.

    Thank you in anticipation

Do your updates in this way, not through the upgrade of the Desktop Manager:

See the link below for download and simple installation instructions.

First find your operator and the system operating file that you want to use.
    http://NA.BlackBerry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp

Make a backup of your device first, using Desktop Manager > backup. Close the office at the end Manager.

    1. download the OS files to the PC then install on the PC by running (double click) the downloaded file.
    2. go in c:\program files Research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
    3. plug in the BB and double-click on "Loader.exe." It is located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

Hi DMH3953 and welcome to the BlackBerry Forums

Follow this procedure to resolve this

    Cause

An update of the BlackBerry Desktop Software could not remove the folder of C:\Program Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Connectors connectors. As a result, older applications Microsoft Outlook have been recorded with BlackBerry Desktop Software.

    Resolution

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:

    1. Check that the connectors folder is present in the following folder:

C:\Program search in Outlook Connector Motion\BlackBerry\Connectors\MS

    2. If the connectors folder is present, perform the tasks listed below.

Task 1 - remove the existing Microsoft Outlook Connector ilxolkCompanion.fil

    1. Open a command prompt.
    2. Navigate to the following folder:

C:\Program search in Outlook Connector Motion\BlackBerry\Connectors\MS

    3. Type regsvr32-u ilxolkCompanion.fil.

Note: Microsoft Outlook is no longer listed as an available in BlackBerry Desktop Manager application.

Task 2 - more current registry Microsoft Outlook connector

    1. Open a command prompt.
    2. Navigate to the following location:

      C:\Program Motion\BlackBerry\IS71 Connectors\MS Outlook Connector search

    3. Type regsvr32 msoutlookconnector.fil.

Note: Microsoft Outlook will now be saved as an application available in BlackBerry Desktop Manager.

Note: When these tasks are complete, remove and re-install the BlackBerry Desktop Software. For instructions, see KB02206.

  • New update for blackBerry Smartphones

An e-mail received this evening that there is an update available for my phone...    Verizon 8330.  When I went to the site of Blackberry and check updates with apploader it says that I'm running the latest version of the OS 4.5.0.138, for my curve.  Anyone else get this email with different results or now that this update is subject?  I was hoping it was the long-awaited updgrade and rumor of OS 5 for the curve.

    Hello!

RIM does not release updates to end-users... businesses to do. Therefore, rather than checking a RIM Web site, you must control a VZW website. You can find it via this Portal:

Ive tried holding down both the 1 button and call my own list both times he goes through to voicemail as if im ringing someone else.

There is no option to listen to my own posts.

Ive also tried the thing of options and put a password that gets automatically entered when I want 1.

However, even in this case there is no option to listen to my own posts.

If I let the voicemail when ive called it ask me to record a message 3 times then said his goodbyes, and there is no options to listen to my own posts.

    Help would be much appreciated!

    Thank you

    Hello

The Blackberry is designed to be reset by removing the battery while the power is on. Leave the battery for a minute or 2.

See if that solves the problem.

Note that the voicemail feature is not provided BB service, but a service by the carrier. If the problem persists, please call the carrier.

  • Failed to update for blackBerry Smartphones

Hello there my entire blackberry family!

While trying to ugrade my apps to a later version. I received an error message * now my phone deleted! Says reload software 507.

Can someone please help me navigate.  As I don't have access to the phone! Not at all.

Have you downloaded the OS on your computer, or was it a certain type of automatic update?  You should be able just to plug it into your computer, open DM and go to the Application Loader and reload the operating system.  If this does not work, you will need to manually download the OS and install it.

  • Software update for Blackberry Smartphones blackBerry - PC crashed

All that remains of my 8900 is the nasty error messages.  The first such message, once the battery is reinstalled (no keys work) is: "Eception exception: ApplicationRegistry.waitFor (0xf405d42294c6940e) timeout ' through a 'OK' highlighted under.  When you confirm "OK", it rises "Eception exception: jave.lang.Error" with an "OK" highlighted under.  When you confirm "OK", the same as the first "Eception exception" error except with the number "(0x91fd388c7b9ff028).  This time, the 'OK' reveals the first "Eception exception" with ther same number than the first.  After 'OK' ing this one, all the errors disappear, and a black letter on a white background is a list of applications... Address book, calendar, new message, etc.  Selecting one of these and depressing the wheel gets another error message, specific request... all begin with 'Error starting net_rim_bb', followed by reference specific application and that the 'OK' button again.  Based on the ' just OK button gets back you to the list of applications... and so the circle continues until the battery again.»

The unit will not be extinguished except by removing the battery and always powers until the condition that I describe.

Any suggestions to get me back to where I was before this unfortunate... without losing data, multimedia, accident etc.?

Hi and welcome to the forums!

If your PC has crashed in the middle of the update of the device OS is that correct?

If the PC is stable just redo the upgrade, the OS device on your phone is damaged.

If you have a recent full backup, you can restore it and not lose any data.

If you have not made a backup, I fear that your data has been lost. You can top up your calendar and

contacts, memo and tasks from Outlook.

    Thank you

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

    Best!
