Problem: Right to left Page numbers

Hello

I created a document of 24 pages in Indesign 2015.0 version (Mac version, English), with the to pages. Page numbering starts with the first page. The problem is that on the left-hand pages, the page number is reversed (i.e. "61" instead of "16"). I searched for hours and watched on the internet, no answer.

Can you help me?

Thank you

Jonas

You have CS5?

The text block has 1 or 3 rounded corners?

This is the case, you must upgrade to a later version or avoid rounded corners with an odd number in a text frame. This is clearly a bug.

Your file, it reads from left to right? The pages are in the right order? The text block are strings in the right order?

Try to export your file in .idml (in having first removed the numbering blocks) and to reopen it and recreate the numbering, maybe this will solve your problem.

  • Book - header from right to left page

    Hi all

It is probably a basic question, but I'm new to InDesign. Currently using CS4.

I'm creating about 100 chapters (individual records). Each chapter begins on page 1. However, once I assembled the book, I want each chapter to run to, for example, Chapter 1 start page 1 and Chapter 2, begin on page 2. How can I get the headers (e.g. chapter name) to go from left to right page depending on whether chapter falls on a page left or right... I hope that makes sense!

Also, I want to make sure I can use a paragraph on these headers style so that I can build my OCD.

    Thanks in advance.

    Debbie.

Use the "align away from spine" instead of left or right-aligned.

  • Could someone help: right to left page headers

Hi all. I've been using indesign for almost a year now and am that scratched the surface so please forgive if this is easy.

I have a set book in place with a number of documents.

The pages are fairly simple to print laser A4 back to back.

"spreads" are implemented with the first page as an odd number. I've implemented indesign to always finish each document so that the next opens on an odd number.

    Very good, but...

At the top of each page is the title of the page, on the left hand spread, it's on the left and on the right hand spread his right side, so when you print the page title always appear on the outer edge of the majority.

Where everything breaks down, if I insert a page, and then do the following pages he sees the title inside edge. I hope I'm making sense.

I could paste them into the master, but it is not just that I would have to replace each master page just to change the title. And I do not know how to proceed.

So basically I always keep my titles appear on the outer edge, left for the left side spread like right on the right side that spread. If adding a page in the furture I need the rest of the pages to understand that they moved and adjust the title accordingly.

    Is this possible?

The layer is a convenience. It menas you can put things everywhere where you (and who could become an issue with table of contents, which lists the elements according to the coordinates of the upper-left corner of the text block page) without having to go through any other special hoops. You can make an individual non-printable in the Panel object, but it's an extra step, or you can use type colored with the [None] swatch or any number of other devices, but once again, each one requires some additional effort beyond simply creating the text, and many of them have negative factors for publishers in the future to find.

One of the disadvantages of the approach of the layer, is that if the text is redéroule, the separate framework will not move with it automatically. If it is a concern, then you would be better to use an anchored object and create an object style to make this invisible text.

  • My HTML code works fine in IE8 but 'jump' slightly to the right and left pages in Firefox

    You can force a vertical scroll bar with body {overflow-y: scroll}

  • Automatic page numbering

    I do a manual.

I have a preface with credits, covers, etc. and then my first chapter. I want to start the document numbering on the second page of the chapter which is a left page. When I tell him and auto page number where to start, it makes the page a right-hand page. I don't want that. What is the work around? Does anyone know? I'm a long-time with CS2 Mac user. I'm doing this project in InDesign.

InDesign "mixture" of the page. Tell him not to do so; Uncheck the box "Allow selected spread to Shuffle" for the spread that you restart your pagination.

You are, of course, fully aware that it is highly, let me rephrase, extremely rare to have odd page... on the left page numbers?

  • Get page numbers to properly on distributions of left-right

I have a document with 5 pages of "forematter": a the title Page, that I have no page number as a section, and then a section 2 section containing the copyright page, dedication page and two-page table of contents, page numbers in Roman numerals.

Then the meat of the book as a 3rd section, the page numbers in Arabic numerals in standard.

    Here are my pages window:

I need to get somehow '1' to the left page of a spread with '2' and the rest pages reflow accordingly, given that the current Setup gives me the page numbers in the wrong place, as you can see below.

An odd page number must be on the right side of a spread in LTR languages, as is standard. To empty pages, you will need to insert a blank page.

I do not understand your screenshots, why the margin guide in the spine not showing space for the spinal column and that he should?

I searched "4 years PS E7 developing problems...» "and couldn't find even in Discussions and notifications that it has been moved.  I would have thought that a search would have led me on the Forum of items with notes as to how much, if any, had read it.  This is what I'm used to.  As I said, I'm lost.  Sorry if it should be obvious, and if I look like a whiner.

When a thread is moved, it will also appear in its place of origin for a short period in order to allow the original poster to find.

  • Right align page numbers which is found to the left of the table of contents entries

I posted a similar question a while ago I think that substances or Peter replied, but darn if I can find the thread. At that time, they provided a script that does a GREP search, find a sentence that starts with a number and its replacement by a tab. I still have the script, but for some reason, it does not properly with my new table of contents page layout. It must insert a tab on the left page number (page numbers are to the left table of contents entries) and force the numbers right aligned so that a single-digit right page number aligns with the right edge of a two-digit page number.

    Find: ^ (\d+)
    Change to the: \t$1

What is happening in the new table of contents, this is the script is a figure and inserts a tab to the left of the page number. Page numbers are moving to the right, but they do not align right. They are further to the right, but they themselves numbers correspond to the left.

I'm puzzled as to why the script does not work on this new layout. Now I use CS4 and it still works on the former route. Nothing terribly different about the new layout except that the column is much closer, and there are several columns threaded in the TOC instead of a long column and the chapter titles do not have page numbers (but all other entries have page numbers.)

We should probably set the tabulator in your paragraph style: a tab aligned right for the numbers, followed by a tab stop that is aligned to the left to the text that follows this number. (I guess that there is a tab after the number.)

  • How to get page numbers in toc shift to the right

    Hello

I'm working on a table of contents and try to get the (3, 4, 5, 7) page numbers against the level 1 and level 2] headers to the right. I don't know how to proceed. I would appreciate your help.

    Lee is the screenshot:

    toc.PNG

    Thank you

You should have a tab between the number of para and text entry, as well as between the text and the page number, but do not display your text symbols (Type > show hidden characters) so I can't see them. Assuming they are there and the two paras TOC use header level 1 and level 2 header by styles (just uncertain of the page, but if I have a para tag names wrong, just replace the good):

    1. Click on the first line of the table of contents.
    2. Type > tabs.
    3. Set a left tab align the left edge of the text entry and a tab right-align by a point of the leader of the page number. (To add: select the type of tab in the tab at the top on the left, then click on above the rule.) You can drag them left/right to move. A selected tab is highlighted in blue or orange, and you can add the point of leading to a selected tab.)
    4. With the cursor on the first line, right-click on the name of the style and redefine the style so that the other 1-level headers are updated.
    5. On the second line, drag the left triangle below to indent the line (the upper triangle comes along for the ride). Adds a tab on the left for text entry and a right tab by a point behind the leader for the number of page, under step 3 above.
    6. Level 3 header and Style to redefine a right click.
    7. Fact!

What you see is probably your portion of your page ScrollBar.

You can try to add to your page properties in the metadata--> Head section:

It may or may not work as it seems that your page is longer than your display window.

  • Slideshow - nav problem! -Drag to the right or left depending on where the timeline is...

    Hello

I have finished my animation and struggling to find a way to complete the task im trying to do.

Basically, I made a normal slideshow with 5 pages. one by one the slide from right to left.

It works fine, the problem is that I also have buttons in nav that controls which slide you want to access.

Let's say that im on the second slide and you click on the nav for the expected slide button, I want the drag image from the left rather than the right. So depending on where the timeline is up to and what nav button is selected will determine if the new page will slide to the left-right or right-left.

Also another problem with this is I want to drag in the opposite direction when the new a behind the scenes in the current page.

Ideas, any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Hello

    To do this, you will need to use an if statement conditions established for the code temporal references corresponding to the position of mounting the process loop, in combination with sym.playReverse ();

I made a sample project for you reference. (For the moment, the only button that works is the first gray button, and it controls the first image that appears in the slide show). Click on the image below to download the image.

Let me know if you need more clarification. It's a bit tricky wrapping your brain autour, but once you get by nailing the first image it's simple. :) Also, remember that I used the time codes in my code in the project, you can feel free to use the labels in order to make sense of things in your own project.

    I hope this helps! : )

  • Does anyone else have a problem with the left speaker is much lower than the right?

Any source that I use the left speaker is much lower than the left. If I put my finger on the right I can feel the pressure of air pushed but not by the left. Is it an iPhone defective 7?

    Hello, TopDog16!

Welcome to congratulations on getting a new iPhone and Apple support communities 7.  From what I see in your post, you have any questions on the stereo speakers in your new iPhone.  I would be happy to help you with that!

Indeed, your iPhone has holes on both right and left sides on the lower edge (on each side of the connector of the Lightning).  The holes on the right are only speaker on this edge of the phone, however.  The other speaker in the pair is at the top of the phone, where the cut is, just above the screen.  Check here to see if sound comes out.

This page has a large diagram of the iPhone of 7 speakers (in the section entitled "Buttons and external connectors"): iPhone 7 - technical specifications
