Problem saving to the .tiff file

Hello

I have a photoshop file large where I worked on. I would like to save the file as a .jpg file and as a .tiff file to send a printer for a banner print shop. When I try to save the file in .tiff format and then open this file in a program other than Photoshop, part of a layer is missing. Backup to a .jpg file works fine. I flatten the image before the economy. What I am doing wrong?

Thank you!

Some software that sees an alpha channel may assume that you want to hide your picture. Try saving your TIFF without alpha channel.

  • The TIFF file size

I edited an image taken with a Sony a7R II in Photoshop (created four layers, although none of the terribly complex changes) and saved as a TIFF file. The original image is 37 MB, but the TIFF image is a huge 463 MB (485 MB so I use LZW compression). Am I doing something wrong or is that what you would expect. Thank you!

While this seems quite ok for a small file. I expect a 16-bit file of a camera 42Mp 252 MB. You have 4 layers + possibly layer masks, so add that space and you get easily 460 MB.

It's the magic behind: each pixel in a RAW file represents a single color in 14bits (14bits is my proposal, I do not study for the specific camera), this is due to the color of Bayer, model coding. Add a compression without loss and you move a MB / Mpixel.

This development in Tiff file triple 16bits for 3x16bits/pixel color information (demosaicing see here: demosaicing - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia ).

Which gives me a headache is the increase in the size of the file using LZW compression (also on the layers?). I use the ZIP (file and layers) compression and which normally reduces the size of the file. At least a Tiff file becomes smaller then an equivalent PSD file.

  • Fax Viewer and Windows image. Made some changes to the .tiff file, but unable to see them on the Windows 7 machine

We imaged .tiff and we scored some changed in the Viewer windows fax and photo of XP Machine and we are not able to see the change made in Windows7 machine. Can someone help with this.

No guarantee... but maybe you can view your TIFF files in the Windows Photo Viewer:
(right click / Open with / Windows Photo Viewer)

View and use your pictures in Windows Photo Viewer
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/view-and-use-your-pictures-in-Windows-Photo-Viewer

(Note: If the TIFF files are several pages only the first page can be displayed with Photo Viewer Windows)

You really produce TIFF files? If you are, no matter what version of LR read them. Files NAVE, not so much. For NEF files out of this camera, you can either upgrade to the latest 6.4 or CC 2015.4, or you can download the latest free Adobe DNG converter software and use it to convert your files to DNG and import those into LR 5.7.

Back to TIFF format. If you are trying to import those and get a message that the files cannot be read. You will need to change the permissions on the folder that you copy the image to. Change the permissions if you have read and write access.

  • LR does not import the TIFF files

I use an Android tablet to pre-process images. I saved a bunch on the SD card in the same folder with the original RAW files and some newly created XMP files, generated by the Tablet PC. Then I removed the SD card and put it in a card on my Mac reader and imported into LR 5.6.

LR saw RAW ORF files. It has imported ones and the XMP data successfully. But he has never seen the TIFFS or it gave me the ability to import. I used the Finder to copy on file of the Mac system, stressed LR to that folder, and it imported them successfully (although I forgot to make it move in the same directory as the RAWs). I've successfully generated Tons of TIFF for in LR, and I probably imported much more, although to be honest that I don't know.

What is the problem? Is there a setting that I missed somewhere? something about the format of the SD card (formatted in camera, so I guess that Fat32).

    Rob

    I'm not jpg

The good news is that I thought about it. For some reason any I've been usiing "peripheral" in the import dialog box, while I had been using "Files" before that. It was essentially studying/Volumes/SDcard. And I guess that the 'include subfolders' doesn't work here because I guess that's for iPhones, cameras and whatnot. I went to "Files" toggled on and outside show subfolders, and now everything is fine.

Thank you guys! This helped me zero in the solution. And now, I know that I can use my tablet to create a subfolder to hold all processed images, or the camera itself (for the XMPs) folder.

  • Problem saving to the PDF/A format

    Hello

I have problems saving my. PDF to PDF/A. My thesis deadline is in a few days, so quick help is appreciated.

I use Mac Acrobat version 10.1.0

When I export, I get this message:

    Screen Shot 2015-04-09 at 2.52.29 PM.png

When I run the preflight, I get the following errors:

    Screen Shot 2015-04-09 at 3.50.15 PM.png

The document has been exported from word to PDF, then edited in acrobat. It has been necessary to adapt the page numbering, since the word is impossible to work with.

    Please help, thanks!

I had the same probems and solved it like this:

    • Option 1: Install the latest version of acrobat pro DC (that much improves the conversion of PDF/A-1). There is a trial version if you want to try first...
    • Possibility 2: If you're stuck with Acrobat X, try the following
      1. to export the file to Word using the 'Adobe PDF' printer and set the stanard to PDF/A-1b. This will provide you with a file conform to PDF/A-1.
      2. Make your changes in Acrobat (page numbering etc.)
      3. Use the preflight (convert to PDF/A-1) or you can try the File\Save as\PDF-A

The two have worked for me...

  • PSE8: Photo Rotation is not saved in the original file

I encountered a strange problem (for me). Whenever I flip a photo in PSE8 organizer that sits on my NAS, saving the image rotated to the local folder (that you can set in the Preferences dialog box). It's really annoying. I can drag the image (or the battery full) in the original file on the NAS in PSE8. So it shouldn't be a problem of right of access.  Is there a solution for this strange behavior? When I rotate an image in a folder on the local hard disk, the rotated image remains in the original folder.  Thank you very much!

It's disappointing to hear that this problem was not fully corrected in PSE 8.  See this thread for someone of another experience with what might trigger the problem:

    http://www.elementsvillage.com/forums/ShowPost.php?p=476170&postcount=6

Beware that if you set the volume-table entries, the bug could still happen again.

    1. make a backup copy of your catalog file catalog.pse8db.  Help > System Info in the Organizer to find his folder.

    2. run SQLite Database Browser and open catalog.pse8db.

    3. on the data of the browser tab, select the volume_table table.

    4. look for the line with id 1495 - that is the entry in double table volume that contains the 47 files.  Delete this folder.

    5. replace the table media_table.

    6. in the tab Execute SQL, run the following query:

    Update media_table

    Set volume_id = 11179 where id_volume = 1495

    7. exit the program.

8 run psedbtool again and verify there is only one volume for your network drive table entry, and that there are 13609 + 47 = 13656 files it contains.

    9. start PES and file > reconnect > all missing and check there is no missing file.

  • I can convert my raw data acquired at the tiff files?

    Hi all

I am the acquisition of analog signals from a camera, and then I want to record them as multiple tiff files, that are easy to analyze and observe. The data type is double float, 0 to 2. Is there so be done within LabVIEW? I installed IMAQ toolkit. And my lv is 8.5. Thank you very much.

    Best wishes

    Bo

Sorry, I tourism... use the ImageToArray to take the image data in a table and then do all the comareing models of calculation of table of.  I think that ArrayToImage is the Vision Developer sequel... but ImageToArray is in the vision available downloads without buying the Vision Module.  I would like to buy the vision for my Developer Suite module because there are a lot of very practical elements in there.

  • Problem using: read the spreadsheet file

    Hello

I have 2 problems with reading spreadsheet file:

    (1) for the use of .txt file I can get the first column and not the other (even if I chose the correct output...)

    (2) this does not at all when you use my .xls file

I must do something wrong but can't find what...

    Has anyone an idea?

I have attached the .VI and my two files.

    Thank you

    User

A native Excel file is NOT a text file.  It is a format of custom file created by Microsoft.  This is why you must use ActiveX to interact with him.

The worksheet ' ' folder features found in the work of LabVIEW with text files (delimited by tabs, CSV, etc.).  The text files are a format more generic that can be read by programs such as Notepad.  Tried to use Notepad to open an .xls file?  It does not work.  Excel can open a text file, because it is a generic format.

So even if everyone automatically thinks "Excel" when they see the word "Spreadsheet", the two are not synonymous.  In the case of LabVIEW, 'Spreadsheet' made reference to a delimited text file.

  • problem by opening the Zip file

I have 8.0 Zip when I create a zip file and open the zip file all show but open in notped.

The possible Zip files were dissasociated and rather associated with Notepad.  Go to start / Default programs / high a file or program with a Protocol / and go to .zip files.  It shows probably associated with Notepad.  Go to the following link: http://www.mydigitallife.info/2008/06/22/reset-and-fix-broken-windows-vista-file-ext-and-type-associations-include-exe-com-sys-zip-lnk-folder-drive/ and select the zip file option file and run it to reset the association of zip files.

If this does not work, install 7-Zip http://www.7-zip.org/ one good program free Zip.  This should establish associate files with 7-Zip Zip (OK this action if requested).  Then, use 7 - Zip to open the Zip file.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • Problems to open the PDF files created on a PC on a MAC

    Hello

Im having issues when I PDF a Word from the Microsoft Office 2010 document. When I opened the pdf file after that is very well and when I send email to other users of PC, it is fine. The problem arises when I send the PDF file to a MAC user and they view the file. The text becomes black lines. The lines are also still visible when they print the document.  I'm using acrobat 9 pro. Anyone know how to fix this?

    Thanks for your help

I was converting a doc MS word to PDF 2010.  I think I found a good solution.  When you save the PDF file, I chose the 'options' and check the box under PDF options for "ISO 19005-1 compliant (PDF/A).  I tried to access this file last updated from my iPad and is no longer the text displayed as black lines.  He did, however, increase the size of the file a little... I think it's due to embedding the fonts?  In any case, it seems to work now :-)
