I installed sql developer version 1.5.0.52 and in a schema, I have space, but like geo raptor data in not installed with sql developer if I'm unable to see the spatial data.

In order to see the spatial data so I installed Geo Raptor as below:

Click on the 'Help' menu item and "check update".

2. "Find updates - welcome" dialog box

Click on the Next"" button.

3. dialogue "Check for Updates - step 1 of 3: Source".
Add the new Update Center. Click on the 'Add' button and insert values:

Name: GeoRaptor
Location: http://georaptor.sourceforge.net/install.xml

And developer sql update successfully, but after the installation of Geo Raptor so I am unable to find the Geo Raptor tool in SQL Developer.

Could someone help me please why Geo Raptor tool is not dispaying in SQL Developer.

Thanks in advance
Vipin

Vipin,

I am one of the developers for GeoRaptor.

I notice that you use version 1.5.0.52 SQL Developer.

The current version of SQL Developer work with version 2.1 and more.

Download the latest version of SQL Developer (I run version 2.1.1.64) and reinstall GeoRaptor.

If the installation is correct, you should see a menu entry GeoRaptor to the pillar of the view menu. In addition, you
should see GeoRaptor commands on the right mouse click menus on columns of tables/sdo_geometry.

Let me know if you still have problems.

  • create a new user with password expire - problem SQL Developer

    Hi people,

I use RDBMS 11.2.x on Solaris and Linux, and in the face of a problem that I hope someone can help me with.

Our policy is to create a new account with a temporary password and force them to reset the password at the first login.

    Therefore, I use: "create user < username > identified by < user > password expire...» »

The problem is that many users use Oracle SQL Developer and do not have access to SQL * more.

When I user logs in the database for the first time in SQL Developer, he just tells them that the account is locked.

It does not say the password is expired, and it does not give them a way to change this (that I can find it).

I'm not familiar with SQL Developer and hoped for someone who has had a similar problem can offer some suggestions.

    Thank you.

  • Installation of Oracle SQL Developer and Java

I finished installing the Oracle Client without problems. SQL Developer opened for the first time and he asks me the full path Java.exe.

That's fine, but when I entered the java.exe I just don't ask again, no errors. Repeat to infinity.

I have the most recent Java SDK installed and tried the 32-bit and 64-bit versions (jdk 7u4). I even tried to install Oracle Client version 11.1.0 AND 11.2.0 to see if that makes a difference, but it is all the same.

I uploaded a screenshot if that helps: http://i50.tinypic.com/mjtqte.jpg

    Any ideas?

    Ideas:

    -Do not use java7
    -Use JDK JRE not
-On widows, there is a version of SQLDeveloper, including jdk 6 java
-Instant client is not necessary - but if you want to use use at least 11.2.0.2
-SetJavaHome updated to sqldeveloper\sqldeveloper\bin\sqldeveloper.conf to point to the JDK
-There is some confusion about 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems, java and SQLDeveloper, you can search the forum for more details, for example: put on the title: "Unable to start Oracle SQL Developer.

  • SQL Developer and 3rd party driver: JavaDB

Come on the last 3rd party drivers for MySQL and & lt; Ugh & gt; MS Access & lt; / Ugh & gt; But what I'm looking for is a third-party driver for Apache_derby JAVADB. Anyone?
Add manually the derby.jar in third-party drivers under preferences seems to do nothing in the GUI of SQL Developer.

Adding the jar file updates the driver on the classpath, but you must establish a jdbc connection yourself for you connect to this.
In 2.0, we offer generic JDBC connections available in 2009

  • SQL Developer and is RAC aware, and not not not using global views

    Dear developers, SQL Developer ,

Since many features of s/n have been introduced in this tool - by the way, I find very well - I guess that Oracle as well target the DBA. Then, in my humble opinion, this is sad as it is not CARS abreast. I mean, as Session Monitor, lock top SQL reports, etc. should ask the global views views of (GV$) rather local (V$).

I am convinced that this will greatly enhance adoption of DBA. As it does not resemble this great change, would you consider adding to EA3? I will file an extension request.

    Kind regards
    Olivier.

    Hi Olivier,.

Adding this as a feature request is the right approach. I know at least some areas of the product already use some views of $ GV, especially in the context of view | Reports. I remember hearing a discussion about CARS-awareness recently, probably about the view. S/n, but I have no idea about any annex or the level of support.

  • problem starting sql developer 4.1.1.19.59

    Hello

I installed SQL developer 4.1.1.19.59, but when I start it up it crashes on the login window for the proxy server that is not responding. I can't even shut it down, and the only way is to kill the process with the Task Manager.

An administrator can run the program, but I'm not an administrator on my PC.

    I'm runnning Windows 7 Professional 64 bit.

Can someone tell me what permissions are needed to facilitate this run as a normal user?

P.S. I don't have this problem with SQL Developer 4.0.3.16.84

    Thanks, Wouter

    HI Wouter,

In fact, my advice was r ide.user.diuse to replace the default user settings folder.  Under normal circumstances the default value of %APPDATA%\SQL developer and the problem is usually an administrative policy that prevents updates records and files in %AppData%.

My expectation was so you would set ide.user.dir to something other than a folder under % APPDATA %., maybe C:\Temp\OSD, to see if it works.

  • Subversion integration wit jdeveloper and sql developer failure

    Hello guys!

I'm really tired of trying to make this work, finally, I ask you for help. I implement subversion and I can't use jdev and sqldev integration. No matter what I try, the menus of the version control menu items are never released. I can application version in my subversion repository perfectly connected, can create new folders in any repository (I can also create repositories the of in j and sql developer and work with them), can perform a checkout complete BUT, when the application withdraws and reappears in the browser of the application there is not overlap of icons for files , or review or any what version submenu when you right-click. I really tested almost all combinations of versions, I was hoping that the new versions of the developers would have been useful in fact, but they do not have.

I have a fresh install of jdeveloper 11.1.1.2.0, a new downloaded and unpacked developer sql 2.1 and a new installation of subversion 1.6.2 (Setup-Subversion - 1.6.2.msi of the Tiger, I tried this version in the end just because the SVNkit 1.3.0, that works with this version) and it does not work. I'm really lost now, so I understand that the best approach would be me following a procedure well known and well tested for details see WTH am I'm doing wrong. Unless someone identify my problem and can offer me a solution, that would be nice but I was not to exhaustively search with no luck.

I'm ready for your questions or wisdom, please do not hesitate to ask what I should have said and I thank very you much in advance!

Oh my. SVN_ASP_DOT_NET_HACK is a horrible hack used when using Tortoise SVN (according to me, it has been used to get around some nonsense with Visual Studio). Unset this environment variable! [url http://blog.dotsmart.net/2008/02/19/moving-on-from-svn_asp_dot_net_hack/] This can help. You should be able to use the recent plu VisualSVN server and with 11.1.1.2 (assume you meant 11 and not 10); I tested it, and that's fine.

  • Installation of Oracle and SQL Developer data

Hi, I was looking for some help/advice with regard to the installation of an SQL Developer and Oracle database on a 32-bit Windows 7 computer. I have been asked to create a database to store the data that I create through reports in Excel format, so I'm required to create a local database but do not know how to do this. Also do not know if I install the Express edition or Oracle 11 g R2 database. If someone could please advise on how I can get this has begun or even links/tutorials that guide me in getting this installed with a localhost.

    Thanks in advanc.

Thanks guys, I managed to install Oracle 11 g 2 and I installed a database using dbca tool and I can connect to my database. One thing I noticed is that when I look in my tables in sql developer I see plenty of tables different i.e. def$ _, logmnr_, etc. and I don't know why did I expect an empty table.

Thank you for all your help btw.

One of the fundamentals of relational databases is that they use their own facilities to manage themselves.  This means that the database management system uses the database to manage data on the database using exactly the same facilities (tablespaces, tables, user accounts, procedures, etc.) that an application uses to store application data. See "data dictionary" so there is no such thing as a completely database empty.

As said by others, you do NOT want to create your own tables under patterns oracle (users) or in the disc spaces logics own oracle (esp. SYSTEM and SYSAUX).  Create your own account user/schema.  Create your own tablespace. Do this by default tablespace for the user.

  • Creation of a new database Oracle and Sql Developer

    Hello

I am a newbie to Oracle and and a beginner not so Sql Server and Visual Studio.

I am trying to learn Oracle on my local machine. I want to create a new Oracle database and start learning from here.

I downloaded the Client Oracle sql developer and maker of data. Could someone please provide some guidance on how to create an Oracle database?

From the responses, it seems that none of the articles I've mentioned actually creates a database. SQL Server provides a free download, also a developer version for a small fee. What specific Oracle product would be better to provide this type of service?

    Thank you
    Mark

You can download the company for educational use via the OTN site. There is also the Express edition, which includes limits on the OTN site as well.

Whatever it is, read the agreements to make sure that you use it properly.

  • Cannot modify most user Source in SQL Developer

    Hello

I created an Oracle 12.1.0.2 database container called DEVELOP and responsible for 11 GR 2 one hundred packages and 600 tables with hundreds of pages of APEX 5.0.

I did it using IMPDP and applications run well in the 5.0.2 APEX I just tested all applications.

Each version of SQL Developer (4.1.2 4.1.3 and the version that comes with 12 c for download) does not allow me to edit any package, procedure, function, or type.

All I see is "CREATE or REPLACE.

I can see all the tables and data.

I saw some problems that appear which suggested using 12.1.0.2 if that happen which I use.

I create a window using the SYSDBA account for the container, then:

    Select * from DBA_OBJECTS where owner = 'LSDB' and object_type = 'PACKAGE '.

I see all of my packages.

I create a window in the account for these objects, called LSDB can:

When I run select * from USER_OBJECTS where type_objet = 'PACKAGE '. I see all my packages, for example.

When I run select NAME DISTINCT from USER_SOURCE; I don't see any source at all code, even if I can right-click on each package of SQL Developer and download the entire package in a window and modify the set.

The source code is somewhere else, simply not visible to the process tree viewer that seems.

    I don't see many discussions on this issue for 12 c 12.1.0.2.

Because it is a test of 12 c, I gave all the roles and privileges for the LSDB account.

I am new to 12 c and Developer SQL 4.1.x. and I'm not a magician to the inner workings of the Oracle or SQL Developer, this behavior seems very strange to me.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Bernie

    Jeff,

Here is the right solution to this problem.

This problem was caused by a failure to completely put the PDB container $ SEEDS at 32K extended varchar2 objects.

The pluggable DEVELOP database has been upgraded to 32K VARCHAR2 objects correctly, but APB$ SEEDS was not.

This resulted in an Oracle ORA-14696 error when you create a new database plug-in, DEVELOP2.

Once the PDB database $ SEED container has been properly upgraded to 32K VARCHAR2 objects using the following code, Developer SQL displays all the source properly, and the new database plug-in DEVELOP2 could also be created.

You can close this topic and thanks for your help.

The latest version I managed to run (ignoring warning) 3.2.20.09 has been building hand - 09.87 using java jdk1.8.0_65.

First attempt was unsuccessful - screen displayed for the second half and then again in line with command prompt is displayed in the CMD window.

I tried several times and finally was fast enough to press ctr + pause/break in this short time.

I tried it with versions 4.1.2.20.64 and 4.1.3.20.78. The latest is here:

Please let me know if all the config files or additional information would help

    Concerning

Location of these files can cause problems? It does not prevent SQL Developer 3.2 work.

Apparently. Director of the company may shed some light on why this is true. In practice, you can try to force the SQL Developer user settings in a local folder that is writable, discutΘ in: problem starting sql developer 4.1.1.19.59

For convenience, here's an excerpt.  Use your 4.1.3.20.78x64 installation.  Choose a path to a local folder, even one on a flash drive.  Should work.

Add something like this line to the file sqldeveloper.conf to your installation:

    AddVMOption - Dide.user.dir =

  • SQL Developer 4.1 freeze when start

When I start my SQL Developer, it is the freezing of the situation of loading.

    • You use the SQL Developer version: 4.1
    • The version of the JDK you are using: 8u45
    • You use the operating system: Windows 7
    • The version of Oracle you are connected to: 11g 2

    I solved the problem AppData files ( \AppData\Roaming\SQL Developer and \AppData\Roaming\sqldeveloper ).

  • Extension CVS works does not in SQL Developer 4.0.1.14 64-bit

    Hello:

I'm trying to add the CVS for SQL Developer extension.  I used the update function to get the files and can see that files downloaded from Oracle.  I can see files with loaded into the appropriate directory.  I also restarted SQL Developer.  I check extensions loaded after reboot, and the CVS extension is loading.  Needless to say, he does appear in the Versions window.

Y at - it a little further to get this installed/configured?

    I use SQL Developer 4.0.1.14 64-bit, build HAND - 14.48, Java 1.7.0_51.

    Thank you.

    Brent

    Brent,

One more thing...   I don't know what possessed me, but I was able to reproduce your problem by...

    1. using the sqldeveloper - 4.0.1.14.48 - x 64.zip rather my usual sqldeveloper - 4.0.1.14.48 - no - jre.zip

    2. According to the method of ide.user.dir it is shown in my previous post

    3. and ensuring that sqldeveloper\1.0.0.0.0\product.conf under my C: drive user settings to reference any other JDK installed

In this way, the CVS is actually installed, but becomes hidden due to the presence of these two additional files...

    Oracle jdeveloper - cvs.xml_hidden

    Oracle - ojcvs.xml_hidden

in the directory... \.sqldeveloper\system4.0.1.14.48\system_cache\config\Modules.  Just delete them and restart SQL Developer and all seems well.

    You must only enter "XE".

  • Column with the default (to_date()) - failure on SQL Developer

    Hello

I will you run the following statement:

    ALTER TABLE PERIOD
    ADD
    (
PP_START_DATE DATE default to_date ('19000101', 'YYYYMMDD') NOT NULL,
PP_END_DATE DATE default to_date ('19000101', 'YYYYMMDD') NOT NULL
    );

This works very well and as planned. Existing entries in the table will win by default - that day.

Now, when I open SQL Developer and go on the columns tab and then click on the small button edit below that an editor window opens showing me all the columns and their specifications.
Here, I am able to modify change data. I notice that, in the columns of default_value for my two new columns, the value is ' to_date ('19000101', 'YYYYMMDD').

Well I wonder about this but can SQL Developer, due to the use of a function, knows not what is calculated it and it can depends on somtething like Sysdate so that the SQL Developer must keep this dynamic statement.
    -> Ok so far.
But when I (no matter if I change something or not) not to click OK, I get an error as follows:

    =========================================================
    Column validation failure
    ---------------------------------------------------------
    Invalid expression ' to_date ('19000101', 'YYYYMMDD').
    DATE or TIMESTAMP expression expected.
    =========================================================

The question I have is: why is a failure and can do I do something wrong?
I can still edit the table using SQL, so this isn't the problem. But I wonder if it's an allusion to a bigger mistake.
If possible: is there a way to get SQL Developer working with it without losing the default dynamic value?

    Thanks for the replies.

This seems to be the same "not a bug" that has been reported here a few days ago:
