  • Problems upgrading from vista to win7

I have a Toshiba satellite p205 and I have the disc of windows 7, but when I go through the process, it does not work, so I downloaded win7 Upgrade Advisor and he says: I have all kinds of compatibility problems with drivers toshiba n such, he also says that I don't have the vista service pack (in which I don't have) so I kept installing updates from windows but the option to install SP1 never showed up. So I downloaded manually 440 mb SP1 on MS website, but it will fail to install due to an error. Can anyone help?

    NightFury,
Try the following and let us know the result.

    Run the disk error checking
Then run the System File Checker
Will download and run the System Update tool
Make sure to note one of these tools can display error messages.

Will they all work fine and correct problems, and then run Windows Update.  After installing other updates, then try the manual installation for SP1.  It would also be useful to know what error you get when SP1 installs.

  • Problems upgrading from Vista Home Basic to Vista Ultimate.

I have a Dell pc came with Vista Home Basic (currently the SP2). I bought (the store) DVD Vista Ultimate Upgrade (SP1). I tried to do an UPGRADE, I prefer NOT to do a fresh install, and he says the upgrade (part) has been disabled and I need to upgrade to a version of Windows that is more recent than the version that I am running. I thought that Vista Ultimate IS an UPGRADE to Vista Home Basic? Both are 32-bit. Any thoughts? (FYI... I don't want to upgrade to Windows 7 at the moment).

    Hello

Your problem is with the Service Pack level; not the version of Vista.

The installed operating system has SP2 installed, but the upgrade disc does that SP1 is installed.

That's why you get this message because SP2 is a newer version than SP1.

Uninstall SP2 > do the upgrade for Ultimate > reinstall SP2

  • Main problems after upgrading from XP to Vista on Qosmio F20

I have recently upgraded from XP to Vista on my Qosmio F20 and having problems. It seems that I lost the ability to change screen resolutions, to adjust the volume, brightness, etc. Basically, I lost the laptop functions. I also tried updating the BIOS but get the following error message "BiOS update only is not supported OS - unsupported OS or service pack installed.»

This also makes very slow computer.

You now have a few questions, or you wrote just a report on your experience of Vista on Qosmio F20?

The fact is that Toshiba does not support Vista on this laptop model and thereby you will ever complete Vista of operation (including the Toshiba tools and utilities). For supported laptops, Toshiba offered special Vista supporting BIOS but for your laptop, this update of the BIOS does not exist.

    Sorry! :(

  • Upgrade from VM 4.0 unit (3) 4.0 (4) SR1 - weird problems

I had some very weird VM problems upgrade unit last night. I ran through the Installer (had a few minor problems but got through them).

I ran the Wizard permissions specifying the appropriate account. I then started to "Set up the Services of the unit". When you are prompted for the installation of the unit account, I chose the AD administrator account (VM only, for simplicity customer wants all the unit services run under XYZ\Administrator instead of unityXXX) and typed the password. Error box "You don't have sufficient access to verify this accounts password"

    and I can't go forward.

I then went in AD, properties of the administrator account. Under Security - Administrator there are 1 or 2 notches, but had checked everything groups accept full control. For the administrator account, I checked full control, wound up and disconnected.

I connected back with the account of XYZ\Administrator, re - a properly executed 'Set up the Services of the unit' and the installation is complete. Great!

I restarted the server at the end of the installation. It took about 10 minutes to logon Windows and a functional desktop computer. Most of the unit "log - on as" services began. Catalog AvDSGlobal and Karina was able to start with connection reported failures. In each of the services I've changed the password for the connections and services.

Then we ran the 4.0 update (4) sr1. No problem, the server restarts, I take a quick glance to make sure everything is ok.

DooHH! Catalog AvDSGlobal and Karina was able to start with connection reported failures. In each of the services I've changed the password for the connections and services. Services are still not start! Go to AD - User - Administrator - Properties - Security - check "Full control" (I did an hour ago, and now authorities have returned back.). Log, log, services fail to start. Run the permissions wizard, start the services. Everything works.

Being a gluten for punishment, I rebooted again. Repeat the paragraph. In its current form unity 4.0 (4) SR1 VM is running.

Administrators have strict instructions not to restart the server.

    That is what it is?

    Unity 4,0000 SR1

    Voicemail only

Exchange 2000 SP3 with after cumulative hotfix installation Windows 2 K SP4 with a bunch of updates.

    HI -.

The first thing that caught my attention was that you use the same account of directory service and message store service. The 4.0 (4) guide installation, Exchange 2003 or Exchange 2000, Cisco says "the permissions required by the conflict of services account directory with the permissions required by the message store service account, then you need to create separate accounts for the two types of services." Here is the link - http://www.cisco.com/en/US/customer/products/sw/voicesw/ps2237/products_installation_guide_chapter09186a008022b8ae.html#wp1551275

The other thing to check in your AD infrastructure is that the wizard of permissions of the unit can work very well, but does not know that the legacy has been disabled. Other behavior you see related permissions devulcanization back can occur when the account is a member of a protected group, as directors. I think it was just a problem with 4.0 (3) and the AdminSDHolder object. You can check the permissions for this object that are listed in this link to make sure you it is configured properly on your server and make sure that the inheritance is checked - http://www.cisco.com/en/US/customer/products/sw/voicesw/ps2237/products_tech_note09186a00801c3224.shtml

  • Why the scroll bar arrows disappeared from Firefox when I upgraded from Fedora 17 to 18 years?

Recently, I upgraded from Fedora 17 to 18 of Fedora. Before the update, Firefox worked perfectly. Now, the arrows have disappeared of the scrollbar on the right. How can I get back them?

This problem is not moved in other applications - in Firefox.

Alternatively, you can check for problems with the file localstore.rdf.

Do you have a scroll bar (that is, only the buttons have disappeared)?

You use the default theme of Firefox (Tools > Modules > appearance)?

    You can attach a screenshot?

Use a type of compressed as PNG or JPG image to save the screenshot.

You can try to check if another theme or icon pack Linux brings them back.

    1. the older system with Win7 should not go Win10 that HP provides no support any drivers for it unless it was made in 2013.

    2. your specific HP PS comment is false with no facts to backup. We should refrain from making these comments - does nothing to help other users.

  • Unable to upgrade from Win98 to XP

When one of my friends gave me an office with no hard drive, Windows XP upgrade CD and a hard drive that is not installed in the office.

I installed the HARD drive in the desktop and install the new Windows 98 installation, it worked very well. When I tried to upgrade to Windows XP, it won't Cross and has a lot of compatibility problems. I installed the ASUS chipset and all the other drivers from the ASUS site before moving to XP.  He always stubborn won't let me update.

I am unable to get the upgrade, and yet I am frustrating.  I wonder how can I "force" the HARD drive to accept the new update of Windows XP? Clones old HDD to new HARD drive work?

The office is probably not OEM. It seems to me it's built pc. The motherboard is ASUS P4V8X-MX.  I kinda wish I could find commercial full Windows XP for under $ 20. :/

  • problem upgrading to Windows7 Windows XP Professionalge.

Hello everyone and happy to be here. I have a problem upgrading to Windows7 in Windows XP Professional. I have a Dell E510 while upgrading to Windows 7, I have reached the installation window and my complete system each item listed with a check mark next to: (copy of Windows files), (gathering files, settings, programs), (extension of Windows files). reached 27% full. I get a massage from windows restarts now... The computer does not restart. He asks me to press any key to boot from the CD. Once it goes to that, a window pops up that says "Windows starts now." It is not to go further than that. I release the CD and turn off the computer. When I restart again, a window prompts you to say 'start from the old system or windows put in place. " If I press windows set up, it does nothing. When I press on the old system, it restarts in Windows XP, and then a window invites you to tell me 'the computer started on your old system. It would not be upgraded. Contact Microsoft. This is getting very frustrating. I installed the Windows 7 DVD on my other HP computer without problem. But when he asks me to press any key to reboot from dvd and you do. There is no that start the installation from the beginning. "Collection Windows files, them"start windows"and them it is he don't, don't go anywhere." Can't someone help please? Thank you and I appreciate the help.

Do not touch the keyboard when you are prompted to "Press any key", sit and wait Windows to continue the installation. Also did you select the 'custom' and not the 'Upgrade' option at the beginnng of the installation process.
