• Problem adding worksheet Excel to Web Page

  One of my users has a problem when she tried to put an Excel worksheet in Contribute. She first gets a message that she "selected a voluminous document that may take a few minutes to import" and Contribute is so as it works, but then she finally gets a message "a script in C:\Program Files...". "Commands\PMScanners.js worked a while." She is using Contribute 3 and tried to copy/paste and insert an Office document. The spreadsheet is about 30K.
  
  Does anyone have an idea on what could be the cause? Better yet, how to fix?

  Well, we figured out how to make it work. Instead of trying to insert the worksheet or the copy/paste of the entire worksheet, we have selected cells specific (all of them in this case) and then did a copy/paste. Strange that it would not work in other ways, but at least we got the data in the web page.

• Problems printing my worksheets in Excel

  Hello. I have a strange problem with my print Excel. I put all options correctly page Setup and printer properties. (A4) paper size, landscape, to the scale (100%), quality (600 dpi), Margines, print and there is no specific area chosen as the print area. And all the corresponding options in the printer properties are correct.

  So I'm a little outside my area expertise (printers, etc.), but I checked on the HP site and they have released a new driver for this printer a few weeks ago, so I strongly recommend to download the latest driver from their site and then try.  Driver update tend to often fix weird problems, isolated like this one... sometimes they derive by using different fonts, and they will update the drivers to adjust to this.
  I doubt that there is a framework, that would be something you would remember changing and usually don't vary according to the print job.
  In fact, out of curiosity, if the updated driver does not resolve the problem, you could try change fonts on the worksheet and see if you get a change in behavior (standard use something like Helvetica, Times New Roman, Arial, etc.)

• Problem when using bb-ant-tools to create a multi-module application

  I am trying to redesign an application prototype into something more adapted to our needs. The prototype was built with the first version of the Eclipse plugin, but I've converted successfully to the current version.

  I have same configuration Ant with bb-ant-tools for it and have successfully build the application and the executable running on the real device.

  But this prototype had code to put them all in a single module, even the source to a third party library with support for managing messages JSON ('J2ME JSON").

  We need to build several slightly different applications from the same code base (differing mainly in aspects of the customer specific look and wording etc.).

  So I want to divide the code into several distinct modules, each providing it is build own artifacts and have a top-level project for each variant you want to produce.

  So at the beginning I want to have these three modules:

  • J2ME-json - the third party lib
  • Code base - the largest part of the source code and default localization resources
  • my-app - the main class, icon resources (and in the future some property files and resources specific to the customer location)

  I have Ant generate files for each module, which compiles and signs packages resulting - seems ok so far, no problem when executing the task of sigtool. The build for 'j2me-json' file and 'code base' defines the product as a type = "library".

  The build for "my-app" file collects the artifacts to build (* .jar, * .cod, etc.) and copy them to a local directory "dependencies", where they will be extracted for the compilation of the actual application. After compiling and signing all are copied to a deployment directory.

  Deploy the application on the device via the 'Desktop Manager' but when I run it on the device I get the error message:

  Error at startup MyAppId: Module ' code$ 2dbase ' attempts to access a secure API.

  The strange thing is, that the "Tool of Signature" window shows demand of signature of all modules during the phase of signature of the request, not only for the request form itself as the error message suggests. And I even sign the modules separately because of this message - but it does not help...

  So, what's wrong here?

  My mistake was that I thought that I can mix attribute and property file inclusion statements in the task of jdp bb-ant-tools. My actual task for libraries looked like this:

  Obviously, the author didn't want to handle the ambiguity when someone sets the same property as an attribute, and in the file. So you should use either one or the other: If you use properties files, then declare all your properties here.

  So this message "Module attempts to access an API secured." seems to be very misleading: it disappered after correction of the generation of files and I now have a common application.

• Problem with cfspreadsheet and excel files

  I have a request from a client to generate a worksheet excel from a query. I have the query expel the fields and I can generate the Excel without a hitch. The problem comes when the customer takes excel file and then tries to handle it. The majority of the distress comes from fields that must be marked as currency or dates. I am, with a few combat capable of generating a 'real' date field Before this Excel was not correctly sort dates.

  I was able to call an excel formula using this:

I can't get excel to recognize it as a currency. It's always personal. When it is set, the SUM function will not work in excel. You can add the fields individually as A1 + B1 + C1 = TOTAL. This will not help when there are 200 lines.

  I was able to get a suggestion from an other CF developer who has had a similar situation. He generated the first with the appropriate items excel file and set the columns to their fields such as date and currency, etc.

  The next step would be to fill the rank by rank, and they must be properly formatted.

  The data in the cells has already been formatted properly. When this file is generated and sent to the user columns are not formatted as expected.

  Does anyone know if this method will work or have a better suggestion on CF getting to generate a suitable date and currency field to Excel for acknowledge?

  For some reason, you need to format it twice - once before the data is inserted and one after.

  This is especially true if you have data values that are integers.  These, even if you format cell advance to be 'Text', always align to the right, as do the integers.  However, if you reapply the formatting after inserting the data, then it must be formatted correctly.

  We met with the POV copy problem after upgrade to the 2010 version of MS Office.
  
  Users claim that in Excel 2003 when the worksheet has been copied again POV settings have been copied too.
  Now in Excel 2010 when the worksheet is copied POV settings are erased.

  Unfortunately the position of the decimal point is global, so call VI is affected, too.

  But there are other possible solutions: you can convert your double array in an array of strings. Conversion functions 'number in string' to disable the explicitly localized comma:

  I can print a worddoc in portrait & landscape very well. I can print a worksheet excel in portrait mode, but when I put it in landscape mode, it will print only one or two inches on the left side & is not in landscape format at all.   2. If you print a printer status or self-assessment Test report, can you give me the a.) Product # and B.) Version of the firmware of the printer?

• Problem when the copy of the newspaper

  I just bought a new Pro Laserjet MFP M276nw. When I copy the daily crossword from the newspaper, empty cells prints gray rather than white as was the case with my previous ink jet which was a HP 309 has. I don't see all the parameters that will change that outside the change of 'lightness' or 'dark' settings. Is there a solution?

  I see that you are having problems when copying. Daily crossword cells are printing in gray instead of white.
  I'll be happy to help you.

  A cheque to document all the copy settings to see if this will solve the problem.

  Fix the copy quality issues.

  You can define a new default copy settings once the problem is resolved.
  You can save any combination to copy the settings as default settings to use for each job.

  In the home screen, press the copy button.
  Press the settings button.
  Configure the copy settings to your
  preferences, then highlight and touch the
  Set as default button is new.
  Press the Yes button.

  To test the paper (newspaper - which is not bleached paper) print a worksheet with empty cells and make a copy to see if they are white.

• 6.6 Lightroom, that an error has occurred when attempting to change modules

  Whenever catalogs of switching or create a new catalog in Lightroom 6.6 I get the error 'an error occurred when attempting to change modules' bit followed by a crash of Lightroom. I followed all the steps in the troubleshooting guide for errors that can occur when you change the modules in Lightroom repeatedly, wiping out all my settings and the catalogs and re - download Lightroom from Adobe web site and put it back, all to nothing does not, the problem persists.

  When reinstalling, I noticed that Lightroom 6.0 doesn't have this problem for me. However, once upgraded to 6.6, it presents this crash. On a lark, I tried upgrading 6.0 only to 6.5.1 - it works and allows me to create new catalogs without crashing. So, it seems that any accident that happens here recently got introduced to 6.6.

  I use a 2010 Mac Pro running MacOS 10.11.5.

  Are there solutions to this crash to 6.6?
