The areas that become really hot are: hard drive, ram, area around the fan and the left side of the laptop.

Additional information:

You can also remove the battery since you mention that he died anyway. Sometimes removing aid to cooling. When you set the bass processor speed - you changed it under 'Sector' haven't you?

Yes, remove the old compound with alcohol. You can get Arctic Silver 5 here or in of many stores, Radio Shack, Best Buy, Staples, etc. Below are videos showing application of Arctic Silver and ceramics, the two coupons.

I understand you are trying to upgrade your system to Windows 7.  You tried to boot from a USB, but after several attempts you have created a DVD with Windows 7.

You have tried to boot from the DVD but even once is not successful.

You have checked the boot order and it is set to 1. USB 2. Hard drive.

Here is a link to HP Notebook PC - configuration of the Boot in the BIOS system order. to help you to change the boot order.

Here is a link to HP Notebook PC - perform a recovery of the system (Windows Vista) HP. Follow the process on a disk.  Once you have started on the drive just follow the installation process as you normally would.  Of course this isn't a cover you won't get the option to backup your files.

  • Compaq Presario CQ70 screen problems advice please

Hi guys I have a Compaq Presario CQ70 and the screen guard sparkle power on and off when I move the upper part of the phone backwards and forwards (see photo below) has seen this before his arrival on my laptop as well (even mobile) dads so got 2 of them to try to trouble lol must be a fault with this model I think.

any help would be thank you very much

Thank you, but I've now sorted. If anyone has this problem as it seems to happen for a lot of these models, all I had to do is take off the screen and theres a card below the screen theres a black wire with a white contector of this card that seemed to be attracted to the lifting up & down the screen. all I did was to pull the wire through which gives him a bit of slack to move and I recorded it down and everything was fine

I hope this helps if someone falls on this problem

  • Satellite C660-223 - system caution: "" problem with cooling detected system "".

When I carry my Satellite C660-223 somewhere for example wear at home to College in a protective case in my backpack, I sometimes get a window warning flashing upward every 20 seconds or so said system + "warning: a problem with the cooling system has been detected." Please turn the computer off immediately and return it for service. +

This only happens when I transported somewhere and as a first step, that these warnings system flashed only sometimes upwards after I hauled somewhere, but in the last two years, he started to get pretty much whenever I took the laptop somehwere. When the system warnings blink until the computer doesn't feel a little warmer than normal. no danger of overheating, immediately.

I didn't fix it because the problem seems to resolve itself the next time that I carried the computer somewhere. It's a very strange problem where the short-term solution was the same as the cause: as in I would take the laptop somewhere, the warning system flash upwards and I learned that take "for a walk" would fix somehow everything which was the 'problem '. I solved the problem in this way too often so he could be a coincidence.

So for a while it wasn't really a problem because I just didn't take the laptop anywhere. But the warning system has recently start flashing to the top if I wear just the laptop on the floor, and the warning system does not disappear with my method incredibly non-tech-savvy to "go for a walk", which I am sure many here would give something to laugh :).

The obvious answer is that I need to get the service pronto thing, but I'm in the middle of final exams and the situation of tech in my house means I can't leave the laptop away for service for who knows how long when I really need to study.

Responses, I'm hoping to get are ideas as to what actually caused this problem and short-term solutions that are a little better informed that my approach "going for a walk".

I think THAT what is, is that the movement to carry your laptop around in a backpack something within the done cooling system moving out of place causing the evil TI work. I say this because, while writing this thread I was turn the laptop over and over again to get a look at the stickers on the back and the practice that seems to have "solved" the problem of warning system because this window flashes up while he was only a few minutes ago.

It seems so that all component moved his place before been moved back again by the movement to turn the laptop over and over. And I was not even take him for a walk!

    Any help? Thanks in advance.

    Hello

This notification may appear for different reasons.
The alert might appear due to
    (1) cooling system malfunction
    (2) blocked cooling vents or fans
    (3) software question (VAP - added value package or BIOS)

Malfunction of the cooling system, you should contact the service agents at the difficulty.

In case of a blocked vent and fans it s enough to clean the parts using a jet of compressed air.
This allows to get rid of dust inside the cooling module.

If the vents are not blocked and you still see this message, check the application of the service station for updates on your computer. If any are found, download and install.
You can try to uninstall or update the Toshiba value added Package. This package contains a few essential tools and utilities that control the cooling system too.
    Also check BIOS update.

But if you continue to receive this error, your laptop may require repair

  • Satellite L50D-B-15Z problem with cooling system

Hi, I have a laptop about a year ago. And for 5 months, I have a problem with the fans. Out and the following message is displayed:

WARNING: A problem with the cooling system has been detected. Please turn off the power immediately and return it for service.

The strange thing is that the first time that is spent stopped working a week, then a month and finally stopped working until 3 months there now will not start.
I have even the implied warranty of the product, but I didn't think to send because it takes virtually every week for classes. I can use it, but if I perform actions that require superior performance as playing the games or download several videos at the same time to start warming up, getting the message and if continuous closed finally down.
What should I do and how can I solve the problem?

Sorry if I do not quite understand. I do not speak English.

There may be dust stuck in the heat sink.
using compressed air to blow dust through the vent.

  • Satellite L500: WARNING: problem with cooling system message

    Dear Toshiba

Some may perhaps explain to me how that happens.

We have 2 x L500 computers laptops, one was bought and activated a day of July 2010 (Computer1)
The other was purchased 1 day later the same store and activated the same day - 1 day later (machine 2)

Yesterday machine 1 responded with the warning message, there is a problem with the cooling system - please turn the machine off and return it for service.

Machine 2 responded today with the exact same message, just after turning on after 4 hours OFF... an unusual situation say you or are - this sort of built in: service to generate the functionality?
I'm not convinced it's a stroke of luck and there is nothing wrong with a machine that I could see.

Anyway to reset every machine has solved the problem, see how long it takes to return.
As you may have guessed, two machines are out of warranty by a few months now.

If any of you have a similar problem, would be happy to hear from you.

    Kind regards

    Ernie

    Hello

One of my friends had the Satellite L500. As far as I know the laptop works pretty well.

I do not know if this message was created because of a software problem, but the laptop should automatically stops down if the cooling modules would not work properly and the temperature would goes up to a higher level of m

So I recommend watching the temp for the next time level and of course, you could get in touch with a Toshiba ASP in your country if notice plu temp or a hardware problem with the module cooling

    waiting for HELP and thanks...

Here is a document with a few steps to help overheating the fan runs continuously. Looks like you have taken most of the steps in this document, however. One thing you can try is updated from the bios.

It may very well be a hardware problem. If you have had for more than a year, it is probably more under warranty. If it is still under warranty, call 1-800-HPINVENT (1-800-474-6836). If this isn't the case, you can take it to a computer repair provider close to have the fan replaced.

  • Problem with my HP Compaq notebook 6910p

When I install any OS 7, 8.1, or all 10 cards are being Setuped except the video card (ATI mobility Radeon

2300 X), I searched a lot for its installation, but nothing. I downloaded several catalysts but without any progress. even I entered

the official ATI website search for him but nothing again. I Enterd HP site get my labtop model of searching for it has

Cards, but when I download one of them, there is an error message saying "this configuration can probably not run on your PC.

I hope you help do me this (ATI mobility Radeon X 2300) Driver

    You are the very welcome.

Depending on what is the problem, I had the same one on too, I forgot you talk.

This does not happen on the 6910p with the Intel graphics card, it only happened on my 6910p with graphics from amd.

You start the PC from a cold start and you get a blank screen (black), but everything is on.  The only way that you can to join the W10 bureau is to restart the PC (and I had to do with the W10 installation disc).  Just enter the disc menu and take it out, so would be to restart the PC.

The solution for this is to go into power options and uncheck the box for enable the quick start, and it will work fine then.

If you are not familiar with where to find this setting, this link will be of assistance to you.

  • WARNING: There is a problem with cooling

I just bought my Qosmio 6 days just and he has now received this warning close my laptop immediately and contact a service repair or something like that.
Laptop brand new, how can this be... I still use it because it's not more warm then normal, should I worry and call toshiba or should I just keep using it?

    What can be the problem?

In my opinion do a photo as evidence and contact your local dealer and explain the situation. I guess you can get a new one.
I don't know how it works in your country, but in my country I can send the product back if there is a problem. I have 14 days to send again.

  • Compaq Presario CQ70-116EM notebook: overheating, stop, "Lightning symbol" flashing.

    Hi people,

My laptop (type in the title) is working absolutely fine for the better part of 18 months until recently where it was extremely hot underneath (I guess it's overheating), but he then turns off and when I press the power button to wake it up, a little light in the form of "Lightning" flashes between the power light and the light indicating a disc present (the power and the light disc not flashing).

I tried most of the procedures standard (I followed EACH link for help on Internet, vacuum cleaner sites on the fan vents and sent e-mail messages), but in the end, it brings me back to where I started, so I resorted to this forum.

    Please can someone help?

    SkillageDan XD

    SkillageDan XD

People OK, problem solved. Basically, what happened was that some solder had melted by the motherboard so was not enough power to the laptop and so it won't turn.

I have sent a repairman so everything of fine, hope it will be useful.
