problem with upgrade from xp to win 7 Home premium

After an update from xp to win 7 home premium and unable to play games, I found that xp and win 7 Home premium are not compatible. Is it possible to install vista (well that it may not be registered on this pc because I will only be borrow) then directly upgrade to win 7 Home premium?

Have you tried to install the games in Mode "compatibility"?

What is program compatibility?
Program compatibility is a mode in Windows that allows you to run programs written
for earlier versions of Windows. Most programs written for Windows Vista are also running Windows 7,
but some older programs might run poorly or not at all.

  • Chicony Webcam not accessible after upgrade from Vista to Win 7 Home Premium

I've upgraded or updated for Windows - 7 Edition Home Premium a couple of years on my Toshiba Satellite U305-S7448.  It has built in Chicony Webcam.  The camera used to have a Panel control that opens on the edge of the screen.  Now, no matter where I look at and I went to the Toshiba and Chicony sites to get the drivers I don't find a way to turn on the camera.  If I use Skype, it turns on and works normally for this function.  Recently, I clicked to add a profile picture on Google + and once again the camera came and worked very well.  When I look at the devices and click on the camera it tells me that it works correctly.  What escapes me that I can't use the camera as I could when I had Vista on the laptop originally?

Thanks for all the advice and assistance to anyone.  I don't know exactly how to use these forums and technology in general.  I just want to know all that, after tripping over the Toshiba support site I finally found the solution to my problem.  There is a download for what they call the Total Value Package I think is the name.  It must be installed before the drivers webcam and then everything works as it did when the laptop was new.  Down load is listed as, util_tvap_TC00214700M, in my folder.

  • Upgrade from Vista to Windows 7 Home Premium Enterprise?

I think my laptop at home has Windows Vista Business edition (I'll have to double check when I get home). I was wondering if I could buy the upgrade from Vista business to Windows 7 Home Premium edition. I don't need all the stuff that comes with Windows 7 Professional, but I don't know if I am limited to just Windows 7 professional since I'm upgrading to Vista professional. Windows 7 Home Edition Premium is a notch down from Windows 7 Professional, so I was wondering if it is possible to do. Or I'm stuck after you buy the full version of Windows 7 Home Premium for the SB $ 199.99 upgrade $ 119.99.

Then I can buy just the Microsoft® Windows® 7 Home Premium, Version upgrade and just do a custom installation? The instructions are fairly easy to follow? The only upgrade I've ever done is when I got my laptop from XP to Vista, (it came with XP installed and they gave me a CD to upgrade to Vista if I wanted to).

Yes, its simple, simply start your desktop of Windows Vista professional, insert the Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade DVD, click install now. When the menu appears, select custom (advanced option) to a clean install procedure.

  • Problems with Windows Update after uninstalling SP2 (Vista Home Premium)

    Hello, everyone!

Two days ago, I tried to install SP2 through my Windows Update. During the installation and then restart, it stopped on step 3 (0%), ignored and open Windows normally. But, I realized that I had totally lost Aero (I didn't even have the option in the window color and appearance), and also Windows Update constantly gave me the message that I always important updates - SP2 has not installed correctly (I rebooted the computer several times to try to resolve this problem, but everything remained the same: stop on step 3) ", running Windows, and once again the message that I've updated important). I searched in various forums, but could not solve the problem, so I decided to uninstall SP2 via Control Panel. But it doesn't let me do that - whenever I clicked on the button uninstall, it says that the installation is not finished yet. So, I tried the system restore, but whenever I clicked it, an error message (that I didn't understand at all) appeared. So, I went into safe mode and tried the system restore and it worked (Control Panel uninstall option does not in Mode safe either), and everything is back to SP1. But now I have problems with Windows Update - I get the error message 0 x 8007002 (and even 0 x 8007005 several times). I tried everything I could find in the forums (the thing with automated updates service does not because I don't have this option in Services), but nothing works. If anyone has any advice whatsoever, I would be really grateful for that, because I don't know what to do.

For safety, I use NOD32 anti virus, Tall Emu Online Armor and ThreatFire.

    Thank you very much!

    Hi EvanaZgb,
Thank you for visiting the Microsoft Answers forum.

I would say to first disable the anti virus and other security software. Then proceed as follows:

    STEP 1
    ------------
Download and install the latest version of Windows Installer
To install the latest Windows Installer, visit the Microsoft Web site at the following address:
    http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=5A58B56F-60B6-4412-95B9-54D056D6F9F4&displaylang=en

Step 2 now try to update again and post back with the results
    ------------
Cleanup, utility to download and install the Microsoft Windows CleanUp utility. To do this, see the Microsoft Web site: http://download.microsoft.com/download/e/9/d/e9d80355-7ab4-45b8-80e8-983a48d5e1bd/msicuu2.exe

    Hello

I recently bought a HP Pavilion laptop. It came with Win 8.1. The software that I want to install on it requires version 8.1 of Win Pro. I bought and installed the Pro version.

Software which requires the Pro version is always telling me that I am not under the Pro version.  I checked the version under computer properties and it still wasn't showing as windows 8.1 Pro.

I reinstalled the OS, I deleted all partitions and installed a clean place. Same result.

Then I realized that when I install the Pro version it does not ask me to enter the Windows key.

I guess that's the problem. When I turn it on it says that Windows is activated. I even tried to re - activate with the key provided with the Pro version, but it does not.

  • Problems with upgrade from Windows 7 Home Premium from Windows 10 home

I am now hours in the process of installing Windows 10 Home with no problems until now. After agreeing to the "terms" page 10 Windows install started "getting updates." It's on this page since nearly an hour now and no not yet spent 0% even if it says that it "may take a few minutes."

This part of the installation is expected to be completed yet? If so, what should I do to expedite the process?

Cancel, restart, and then manually update:

    Task of pre-required

When you make significant changes to your computer for example updated operating system, you must always back up. See the links to resources on the backup by clicking the link for each version of Windows you are using: Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8/8.1

    then

    then

    • Turn off (preferably uninstall) your Antivirus utility before you perform the upgrade.
    • Reboot several times, and then try again.
    • Disable the general USB peripherals (for example - smart card reader).
    • If you are using a SCSI drive, make sure you have the drivers available for your storage on a thumdrive device and it is connected. During the installation of Windows 10, click on the advanced custom Option and use the command load driver to load the driver for the SCSI drive. If this does not work and the installer still fails, consider switching to an IDE based hard drive.
    • Perform a clean boot, restart, and then try again.
    • If you upgrade to the. ISO file, disconnect from the Internet during the installation, if you are connected in LAN (Ethernet) or wireless, disable both, then try to install.
    • If you are updated through Windows Update, when download reaches 100% disconnect from the LAN (Ethernet) Internet or Wi - Fi, then proceed with the installation.
    • If this does not work, try using the. ISO file to upgrade if possible.
    • If you are connected to a domain, go to a local account.
    • If you have an external equipment, attached to the machine, unplug them (example, game controllers, USB sticks, external hard drive, printers, peripherals not essential).

I just buy and download the version upgrade of Adobe Flash CS5.5, and I'm upgrading to Macromedia Flash 8 Professional.

Also, I installed Flash 8 on my computer today and seized the (legitimate) serial number, too. I bought that at the time where he was outside, and I'm hoping to finally update today, so I don't use more trial.

When you install the upgrade, he said that he could not find software compatible. How to recognize my Flash 8?

I'm running on a PC with Windows 7 updated.

I also assumed by restarting the computer would work, but did not.

Knickolaus when I discovered our information upgrade, it's show Macromedia Flash Professional or Basic 8 must be accepted when you enter the serial number of the eligible product.

I tried to get 10 Windows on my 4540 s Probook and it downloads very well.  Then, it checks the software on the computer and find a program that is not compatible and says that I have to uninstall it will continue.  I uninstall it but want to be sure I'm noy going to cause more problems in doing this.  The program he doesn't like is the tools of HP software, it includes scanning biometric and other.  It would be prudent to uninstall these or should I wait to see if there is a work around for this problem.

There is no solution other than to remove it as suggests, that the software is not compatible with W10 and never will be.
