problem with Windows startup when W510 in docking station

When I put in my W510 to the docking station, I usually every second day problems starting Windows operating system.

I'm doing 2 videos, where on the first 100_1060.MOV you can see from Windows when it is frozen (first record of one minute, I start recording after 3 minutes frozen), then I have to restart W510 by power and startup ThinkVantage button.

On the second video 100_1061.MOV began operating system after ThinkVantage process, this departure is OK.

http://www.Licko.cz/W510/100_1060.mov

http://www.Licko.cz/W510/100_1061.mov

Why I have this problem? I have the latest version of Windows, and W510 updates.

Kind regards

Lubomir Licko

There were updates of Microsoft and Lenovo and I have this problem of time.

  • Problems with windows startup?

Hello - in advance, any help is really appreciated!

I have a Dell XPS 400 - I came into my office for a job found my pc off - tonight, I turned it back, he started up the same error message you get with a blackout - we apologize for the inconvenience and so on...

Now, every time that happens I can usually click on "Start windows normally" but when I do, windows does not start, it is just sitting there--and sitting here typing what he keeps trying to start but comes back to the same screen...

I tried to search on the net about this problem with my Dell, but have not been unsuccessful - I read on a disc? I can't find any drive for my pc?  Any help would be appreciated-

I hope although I haven't lost my data... always learn valuable lessons when this sort of thing happens!

    Thank you

  • Tecra S5 - problem with windows startup

2 days ago I installed windows 7 on my laptop, my old windows vista with a clear system in shape and I installed the display drivers for windows 7 on the official website of toshiba.

It worked fine for a day, and then suddenly I got a message saying that the graphics driver has stopped working and the computer crashed.

After the restart during the windows loading screen shows only blue lines and nothing more happens, he starts not or anything like that. I tried to reinstall windows 7 and install the vista drivers this time, in the hope there is a problem with the drivers, but no luck, it crashed again as soon as I restarted if necessary after installing the drivers.

Then, given that nothing worked, I used the product for windows XP Recovery disk provided with the laptop, but again after the first reboot, windows not loading not but this time it restarts itself automatically after a certain time.

Anyone got any ideas what's happening?

PS: Sorry for the big post, but I'm desperate, because I need my computer for work Monday

    Hello

I'm afraid this could be a serious hardware problem m.
To me, this looks like a GPU (graphics chip) problem.
That would explain the lines on the screen and the problems with the installation of the system.

It would be the worst case. Defective graphics chip cannot be replaced because it s soldered on the motherboard.

Well, what to say, you could get in touch with a local technician to verify the parts but I think it is s GPU question

    Welcome them

I tried the Fix cumputer system recovery, deleated manually updates, nothing works.
I tried to make a backup, to restart the computer, but you can't do it in safe mode.
    any tips?

  • Problem with windows startup

The computer I'm currently difficulty running windows xp mce... said mce2005... license sticker it starts and request passwords for profile at this point, everything is fine and its poss to type the password and click on a profile available... once the account is open it starts to load the startup progs but the operating system will not respond to the mouse or orders... I tried to load safe mode, but I have the following blue screen "a problem has been detected and windows has shut down to prevent damage to your computer... stop technical info: 0x000000c5 (0x00000000 0x00000000 0x00000000 0x00000000) I am trying to recover data... any thoughts?

    Jam,
Well the first thing to try is to disconnect all external devices (printers, USB hubs, etc...) and reboot.  Then as soon as you press on enter from the password screen press on and hold down the SHIFT key.  Just keep holding it and until you're either at the level of the Office normally or you're sure that it is locked.  If you are able to correctly by able to get on the desktop then I would setup a clean boot.

If this does not help, and that your main concern is just to recover the data then you might want to consider performing a Parallel Installation and then recover the data you need.

    Hello

In Safe Mode does not allow to do something, try a startup repair and / or a system restore using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft

Manufacturers recovery disks normally do not have Service Options; they are normally a relocation to the factory only settings option.

Here is the guide to repair Options using a Vista DVD from Microsoft.

If a friend or a work acquantance of yours has one, you can borrow and use it for repairs.

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/repair-Windows-with-Windows-Startup-Repair/

    Table of contents

    1. Overview of Windows Vista repair options
    2. How to perform an automatic repair of Windows Vista using Startup Repair
    3. Advanced Tools Overview
    4. Conclusion

If you do not or can not borrow a Microsoft DVD there is a download of a file ISO of Vista Startup Repair available that you can put on a Bootable floppy to make the above startup repair and that the method is recommended by a large number of posters in these Forums.

Unfortunately, you have to buy it.

Here is a link to it:

There are several methods to reinstall Vista.

This can help you (download files and make your own DVDs):

    http://www.heidoc.NET/Joomla/technology-science/Microsoft/57-Windows-Vista-direct-download-links

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

To reinstall Vista using their recovery disk/s, you start from the 1st recovery disk they provide and follow the manufacturer's instructions to reinstall:

You need to change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order:

How to change the Boot order in BIOS:

"How to replace Microsoft software or hardware, order service packs and replace product manuals.

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery on the drive Partition hard reinstall Windows how much you bought your computer.

The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

Ask them to the proper key sequence.

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

I hope someone has a suggestion for this problem... I just bought a new laptop and Windows 7 Professional came installed on it.

    Thank you

    Linney thanks for your response!

The file I'm trying to install is an exe file (so the SIG file is embedded in the exe file).

I tried the option "Run As Administrator" and it did not work.  However, you gave me an idea that has provided a work around that allowed me to install the program.

Once this dialog box is displayed with all the control switches, rather than press 'OK', I left on the screen and went in the 'temp' folder and find the MSI program I tried to install (I cross referenced the timestamp of when I tried to install it to find).

Once I found the updated file, I clicked it, and he proceeded to install the program... I have not had any other problems with the installation.

So, there's something wrong with the way that the exe file have been created and how the files extracted from the msi file (these are files of Intel and Lenovo - driver updates - so I think they do these things) or there is a problem with Windows Installer.

For now, at least, I have a work around I use until I find a solution to this problem of permanent

Thanks for your help and for taking the time to answer!

I hope this can help someone else in the future

  • Dual monitor boot problem with Windows 7 Professional 64 bit after installation of any graphics program like a game.

I have built this platform with the help of the owner of a store of 4 cumputer teir 2 years ago. We initially put Windows Vista 32 bit on the system to Vista 64 bit unstable atm. For 2 years, the computer worked like a dream. Last week I made a clean wipe of windows vista and windows 7 professional 64-bit installed. The system has two monitors. The primary monitor is a sony bravia with 26 "led and secondary for watching movies is that a 55 '' led Samsung 1080 p 240 Hz. The graphics card is a geforce GTX 295 nividia. It has 12 GB of Ram and the CPU is an i7 965 @3.20.

The problem I have is this. After the installation of any game average to work with windows 7, the screens to reset their resolutions automatically more than a few times as they are confused. Sometimes, I have to return the screen to its correct resolution after installation in full. Most of the games and then run fine. After installing the game or any game designed for win 7 startup of computers is all messed up for the monitors. After starting hand 26 "sets its resolution and then after about a second 30 pause the computer makes the sound (the double) that it is resolutuons to reset monitor again? After that this second reset about 1-2 minutes the computer is good to go, unless it sets the res evil. The problem is the computer has never done that with vista and it is very annoying say the least. It still freezes the installation of some games. The only way to resolve what I found is the restoration of the system. The computer starts normally and screen ground is defined once she has always been. The only problem is when you install another game, the problem is their new. This problem is worse in some games.

The latest nvidia drivers have been installed. There is no conflict in the device with the exception of an old printer Manager. The two comes is set to 60 hertz. I searched all over the internet and there seems to be a problem with windows 7 without solution. I am at a loss. Any other information that you need let me know and I'll post it. Thank you!

    Hi ancientone618,

It sounds almost as if there is a Windows update that is in conflict with your NVIDIA Driver Installer.  I would say to disable automatic updates of Windows to see if it might help:

In addition, please see the article with some useful information:

  • Having a problem with Windows Live Mail lock up shortly after the start.

Having a problem with Windows Live Mail lock up shortly after the start. When I start the Task Manager to end the process, it sometimes freezes and the only way to solve the problem is to disconnect which forces the profile to close. Assuming a corrupted profile, I followed the instructions of Windows support to fix a corrupted profile and copied all the files except ntuser.*. When I try to paste them into the new user profile (all profiles are admins), I get the error message asking if I want to leave to proceed. When I click on continue, all THE files in the profile block "corrupt" to the new one, including ntuser.*, that I was not choosing. Why? If the files are rewritten empty? Tried 3 times, same result. Please notify.

I think I found it! I went in the Windows Live Forum and found a thread that looked like my problem. He suggested going to msconfig and take off Live Mail list start. I couldn't find it on the list, but the top element was "" default EXE"something of an unknown manufacturer. I took it out of the startup list, and Live Mail works again! Thanks for your help!

  • How can I make Thunderbird start car with windows startup

How can I make Thunderbird start car with windows startup

You can by placing a shortcut in the startup folder of windows, just like any other windows program.

However if you do, you are likely to encounter problems such as downloading email while still load the antivirus and the network is busy, announcing the arrival of machines on the network (which can be a network a) and any other program of a dozen are loading is heavy risk of timeouts and disconnections of the server as well as error messages that make little sense because they are something that still load.

The bottom line is so safe that you can, but if there are any questions bring her out of there first.

  • Problem with Windows Installer (I think)

Hey I just got a new 'game' PC with all the good things like i7 processor nvidia GTS 250 graphics card. So I guessed I would setup games. Games were installed very well the problems started when I tried to run SteamInstall.msi he looks ready to install for 1 second and then close and nothing happen. Even try to do once again nothing. So I gave up with it.

Then I installed cod4, codwaw and download for both patches. When I try to install the patches it starts normal and after extractinng saying "" ".msi or msu or something it get stuck on the preparation for installation on both cod4, codwaw games and I think about others too... '".

So I guess that's my Windows Installer problem... ? Windows Vista Home Premium SP2 (problems on SP1 also)

    Yoris,
I think that if you had a problem with Windows Installer, then you would have also had a problem installing the games themselves.  If after installing just the game, you are able to start the game, then you will need to determine if you really need the patches you install.  If they fix game issues and do not add any content, then you may not even need of patches.  If it turns out that you do not have the patches and they are self extracting\installing files and then save them to your desktop and then right click and select run as administrator and see if that helps.  You can also check with Activision support , because this can be a problem they know. burningbush,
It can also be a problem with the game running through Facebook server.  I noticed a difference in great step lately with Farmville on Facebook compared to when I started playing.  You should check to see if it seems to be the same on the other PC.  I noticed the problem on several machines in different places, so I know that it was not limited to a PC.
