Problems in standard user accounts user access control

Equipped with Vista. Accounts of users within the standard, I can not install any new software. When you are prompted by user account control, my admin password, enter the password and get a response saying the account name or password are incorrect. The password allows me to connect and install the software on the admin account, but why now is no longer get in a standard user account. ?   Any ideas?

Hello

Step 1:

You can try disabling the UAC on the standard account to see if the software will be installed.

Enable or disable the User Account Control

Note: Enable UAC, once the problem is resolved.

Check and make sure that the standard account you are allowed to install.

Step 2:

If the problem persists, then you can create a new user account and then try to install the software.

Create a user account

    Hello bh51,

Did you run your antivirus as well as any spyware removal?  As davidhk requested, then you are able to turn sharing off the coast, but it just doesn't work?   I suggest creating a new folder and move the data, and then see if other users are still able to view these.

  • Privilege standard user Admin controls

I'm the administrator of this computer. Its a HP all-in-one desktop running Windows 7. I'm pretty good with computers. I use them because they ran on the BACK. There are several other people who use this computer who are not good with computers, but know enough to do the basic things like e-mail, Facebook and play games. No other people who use this computer are children. I need to know how to prevent other users to download anything or install additional programs without restriction of the type of content they are authorized to see. We use all Facebook, Gmail, Twitter and Spotify, and these sites sometimes containing explicit content. And what other people consult is not my case. I want to make sure that nobody does anything on there that may contain viruses or anything that could adversely affect health throughout the entire system.

    Hi Tecca,

To better understand the issue, let us know if other users are limited or not users.

Standard account users will not be able to download files unless they enter the administrator password when invites UAC (User Account Control). The standard account can help protect your computer by preventing users from making changes that affect everyone who uses the computer, such as deleting files that are required for the computer to work. We recommend that you create a standard account for each user.

  • How can I disable the user access control, for an update of a Web site?

This is the site of poker for the best day of Milwaukee.

    Hello

Access search by: click on Windows Orb/Start key > click on the text box and type "User Account Control" to get the shortcut to user accounts. You can disable UAC.

However, the word of advice, be warned that disable UAC will allow any application and good or bad that gain access to the computer can cause damage to him.

Don't forget that the site you access is safe and secure and if did the update, try to return to turn on UAC

  • Account administrator and user, Windows 7 Premium access control problems

We have a problem with a HP/Compaq Windows 7 Premium machine 4 months old and we cannot allow any request of the UAC.

An account on the machine is a "Standard user" without password, but when we do something like put to day or what the icon shield it and require permission from the Admin we cannot.  The alert box will appear asking you to Admin password (with no box to type, besides whom there is no account active Admin but maybe only the Super Admin account 'hidden' which is off), but also the 'Yes' button is gray and only 'no' can be clicked.

Support PC World were unnecessary, saying full install, their stock response.  Tried enabling the 'super administrator' hidden account think it worked once before when I need administrator rights to install the software, but as unable to run CMD prompt as administrator (again because UAC comes into play), I can't seem to do.

So now stuck with the new machine and messing around on the fighting with the OS: s I thought rightly or wrongly that the activation of the hidden Admin account would do, I'm sure that's what I did before, but I keep hitting the problem guest UAC as described above.  Therefore, the following does not work:

    ______________________________________

    Click Start, type: CMD
In the results, click on the right button CMD
    Click on "Run as Administrator"
at the command prompt, type: net user administrator / active: yes

Log off, and then log on to the administrator account
Make the appropriate changes to your accounts

    Log on to your account
    Click Start, type: CMD
In the results, click on the right button CMD
    Click on "Run as Administrator"
at the command prompt, type: net user administrator / active: No.

    ______________________________________

I tried to click with the right button on CMD prompt and checking run them as administrator on the drop down menu, but UAC prompt comes up, no luck.  Also tried setting to "Run as Administrator" when raising the properties by right-clicking... same result.

Also tried cursing at the machine... same result: o

Any help appreciated because I'm sure that I've done it before, and there is a way to pass the CMD prompt.

    Ah finally solved.

HP Compaq machines have their own start to use for recovery etc. software (accessible by pressing the ESC key), so I went into the system recovery using the backup utility to make sure that the external hard drive was last week 'missing' files, and then cancelled rather than clicking on the side to supplement a system recovery.

This gave me the traditional options of safe mode,... networks, prompt etc.  Choose Mode safe mode with command prompt and Super Administrator hidden account was visible as well as the Standard user.  Choose the account super administrator, connected, activated the password protect and define it.

    At the command prompt enter:

NET user administrator / Active: Yes

Restarted as Standard and UAC user now works fine.

It all started because of a need to install Open Office and then down the line a cutting machine, interrupting a Microsoft Backup, which could not be restarted without password Admin and user access control issues as described above.

Is not to hide the Admin user at all now!

  • Big problem with user Microsoft Access control

    Hello

I have to work around for CCleaner (UAC) user access control that begins after every time Windows starts as an auto start the program.

Every time you start, I get the UAC prompt which warns me again and again.

I don't want to disable access to the computer, but only for CCleaner user control.

Creating a link like this: http://www.petri.co.il/bypass-uac-using-desktop-shortcut.htm there's no option for me, so I found this:

    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=7352.

    I followed these instructions: http://www.ghacks.net/2010/07/08/get-rid-of-uac-prompts-with-microsofts-application-compatibility-toolkit/

but it does not work. I always get the guests.

    What can I do?

Thank you very much in advance

    George

It would be impossible because it would create an immediate and global security hole.  For example, let's say you whitelist CCLeaner.  Then all viruses and Trojan horses in the world know immediately they can simply replace the file ccleaner.exe on your computer a copy of the virus and it will be automatically approved and completely take over your computer.

  • Limit the control panel and IE for the Standard user account

I'll set up a new computer for a 91 year old customer in a retirement home, who don't use the computer for e-mail and an occasional Wordpad document.  His son wants to put computer in place so that it cannot get to the Internet Explorer browser, or go to control panel, because he bumbles around the keyboard causing all sorts of problems requiring frequent service for me calls.

The operating system is Windows Vista Home BASIC, so gpedit.msc is not installed.  I have activated the system administrator account for my use when I am called to repair the computer and set the Standard user to user account.  The problem is that the only way I found to disable IE and the Control Panel causes them be turned off in BOTH accounts.  I wish I could disable them ONLY in the user account.

The only solution I found to disable the control panel is a registry hack in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current versionpolicies where I put a DWORD 32-bit "NoControlPanel" with a value of 1.  I tried to do that in the HKEY_CURRENT_USER hive, but it had no effect.  This kind of work, but there are two problems then; Mises_a_jour Windows 1) won't install and 2) when I have to go to work on the computer, I first change administrator user, then change the DWORD value to 0 and finally to restart the computer, causing additional assignments, lengthen my time at work.

Second, the only solution I could find to disable IE was in the default protrams Panel, which disables the administrator as well.

Can someone tell me if there is another way to achieve this, while IE and control panel are disabled only for the user?

Change the security to the IE executable rights? Remove 'Users', while you keep the administrator rights.

For control panel see 'Method Two' in this link:

Thanks for your response, but will not solve problem of this "gentleman". The object is not so much to limit internet access, as it should restrict access to programs.  He is 91 years old, has small hands and types rapidly with two fingers, but made many mistakes.  Disability is before everything to prevent clikety snap everywhere, because he creates sort of a zillion copies shortcuts of the webpage on his desk, until everything hangs and I have to go a push up on his mess. The same reason applies to the Contorl Panel.  We don't want it to be able to get to the Panel "printers."  When a document will not be printed for a reason, he go, dummy click around and created a bunch of copies of the printer, with a gazillian of documents clogged up in the queue of the coil.  I had to cclear up to 100 documents from the spool on 50 copies printer queue.  It's really an economic problem for his son.

  • How can I give some privileges to a standard user account that they can access some programs without being stopped for the admin password?

I have two accounts on my Windows Vista computer:

(1.) an account admin and one
    (2.) a standard user account.

I would like to give to the standard user account privileges, so they can access programs like spybot, without needing an admin password (he asked generally the password update spybot).

I have read the menu permissions by right-clicking the spybot .exe file, click the securities tab and the Advanced button.
I tried to give full control to the standard user, but still maintains he ask for an admin password.

is there someone who can provide assistance so that certain programs accessible by standard account, but others not?

    Any help is appreciated,
    Thank you.

    Hi Hardik Mehta,

Try the steps next to the applications you want to only allow or shortcut to run with administrator privileges

    1. navigate to the location of the .exe file programs and right click on the file .exe or right click on the shortcut to launch the program.

    2. Select Properties.

    3. click on the Advanced button.

    4. check run as administrator in the advanced properties box.

    Hope this information is useful.

  • The admin user doesn't have access to the Standard user account files

    OK, I'm lost.  It's crazy.

After reading the reasons to do most of your work on/as a Standard user, I created a user account (quite a while) and have been using it since--and perhaps the way I did have this problem.

If I remember correctly, this is how I did it.  I had a LOT of files under my old ID admin, so I created another Admin account and then replaced by former Admin account is a Standard user account.  I have been connected and makes every slot the user account Standard since then, with Windows poping a request my Admin password whenever he needed.

Today, I needed to change a tax return of 2013 - and when I reloaded TurboTax last year and needed to get the State program, TurboTax wouldn't, claiming that I need to be logged in as an Admin user (I have not the popup asking my Admin password).

OK, here's the problem.  When I have users to switch to my Admin account, after the passage, almost all the icons on my desktop disappear AND there are only a couple of files in my files of Documents Libraries\Documents\My.

Everything to go.  I thought as an Admin user, I had access to everything.  How can I get all this stuff back (the icons on the desktop for example and other user account files, etc.)

When I was logged in as an Admin user, it seemed that I could share files with other Useers - so I thought, Aha, that's how it works.  So I logged on my Standard user account - but the ability to share my files, etc. did not exist, at least as far as I can tell (that is, cannot find this option anywhere).

If all goes well there is something simple that miss me that things work so that as an Admin user, I have access to other user accounts where - it is supposed to work, isn't.

Obviously need help.  Thank you.  Ron in round rock

In fact, I have nothing - as stated in the above comment, I could see all my files and folders User\ron

-> This either means that the folder is already shared, or that UAC (User Account Control) is disabled on your PC. This isn't a good idea because it exposes your computer at serious risk.

I can edit, delete, running back, I can't (or maybe since I am the only user on this machine, I should leave him alone).  Just curious as to what I did exactly.

-> If you have shared with read/write access, you can create/edit/delete the files.

And finally, as an Admin user, I have only 4 icons in the taskbar (IE, Chrome, Windows Media Player and Windows Explorer) - that doesn't sound right.

-> You'll get exactly icons you placed here while it is logged on as admin user.

And really Finally, with regard to the disappearance of all the icons on my desktop when logged in as Admin user.

Each user has his own profile. Inside the profile, there is the user's desktop. Desktop shortcuts that are visible while connected as user A are not visible when you are logged on as user B because each user has his own office!

There is one exception: most applications require at installation time if their shortcuts must be visible by all users. If you answer 'Yes', then the shortcuts will go into this common folder: C:\Users\Public\Desktop.

  • Standard user saved internet photos appear in the account of user admin instead, how can I fix this problem?

I can't find an answer to this question. I save pictures of sites .gov to accompany the latest news that I write. I work as a standard user and don't use the account administrator to computer problems. But when I save pictures and PDF files that they do not appear on my desk or in my photos, instead, they go to the administrative account. I end up having to go to the admin acct send to me, so I can access it on my standard user account. How can I fix?

Thank you, make it a great day!

When you save the photo, enter

    C:

in the file name box, press ENTER to go.  This will show the top part of your hard drive.  Now, open the users folder and find the right place to save.  This will save appropriately instead of the other account.

  • Privacy of user account: my daughter (standard user) can access my files on my Administrators account

My daughter (standard user) can access my files on my Administrators account via his account by clicking on the C drive, then users on my account. How can I change this to my documents remain private.

I have now managed to do my private account managers. I'm pretty sure by default, it is created to share with my standard account of girls and no password is required to access my documents. It would be interesting to know if anyone has had this problem I only stumbled on this. Thanks for the everyone entry.

  • How to access the administrator account disabled on standard user account?

I recently disbaled my account admin by this step

Control Panel > administrative tools > computer management > local users and groups > users > admin account > properties > check an account is disabled

Now, I want access to my admin account

I tried to access it from the login screen by clicking CTRL + ALT + DELETE but his does not work and also tried to start a cmd as administrator of the standard user account, but his is not accessible. Now I can able to access standard user only, now please tell me how to access my admin account to standard user account that I created.

What you were doing was equivalent to throw out your safe master key. Not a good idea. Here's how you can recover from this error:

    1. Set your BIOS so that it uses the DVD drive as its primary boot device.
    2. Start the computer with your Windows 7 repair CD.
    3. Press a key when prompted to boot from the DVD.
    4. Select 'PC Repair' in the menu.
    5. Select 'Repair' when prompted.
    6. When you are prompted, select System Restore.
    7. Configure Windows to a point before you disabled the admin account.
    8. Instead of disable your own and only the account admin, you now need to create, test, and document an alternative admin account, same as you have a spare emergency House key. This will save you a lot of trouble.
  • Lockout C drive. Cannot change the permissions, cannot not disable the user account control, unable to open the access control editor, cannot change the property.

While trying to change the folder permissions for a second user on my computer, I did something that I lock my C drive.

When I log in with the administrator account, I get the following popup:

    C:\Windows\System32\SystemPropertiesComputerName.exe
Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You can not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.

I am not able to access denied drive from C to all 'access '.

When I right click on the C drive and select Properties > Security tab > go on, said the popup "cannot open the access control editor. Access is denied. »

When you select Properties > Security tab > advanced > owner tab > continue, current owner says "unable to display current owner. Can not change, cannot be changed.

I can't turn off user account control, nothing happens when I click the icon or the text.

I was able to create the 'hidden' administrator account, but I can't do anything from there, either.

    Any suggestions?

    Hello

Recovery disk will not help you perform the upgrade on the spot. I suggest to organise a Windows Vista DVD and try to perform the upgrade in-place.
