problems of changing an item on a master page

Hello

I was faced with a problem all day.

I have a large document, use multiple master pages. I want a button on one page to make an element on a master page to toggle visibility. This occurs on all pages that use the master page in question.

So... here is my code:

if (this.rawValue == '2') {

this.resolveNode("#pageSet.CoreMaster.nonDis").presence = 'hidden ';

}

if (this.rawValue ! = '2') {

this.resolveNode("#pageSet.CoreMaster.nonDis").presence = 'visible ';

}

I placed it on a radio button set that has values for 1 = no 2 = yes

If the user selects Yes (ie the value 2) makes the field of text called ' nonDis visible - if they choose No. - He then hides it. The nonDis of the element is on the master page named CoreMaster.

It works! Finally almost. It only works on the first page of the document. It's the visibility on all other pages (that use the master page in question) still have the text as hidden nonDis field.

By the way, thinking it was my form (it's abig form) that was at fault, I tried another nine form but nothing that an item, but with two pages and got the same problem - hidden on the first page, but not on the second.

I have no idea why - can anyone help?

Thank you very much

Sunil

Master pages are repeatable object, they also have numbers of index as [0], [1], etc.

Your current expression makes referring only the first instance of your master page.

To refer to all instances, you will need a loop function.

Member of the var = xfa.resolveNodes("#pageSet.CoreMaster[*].nonDis");

for (var i = 0; i)< mp.length;="" i="" +="1)">

MP. Item (i) .its presence = this.rawValue! = « 2 » ? "visible": "hidden";

}

  • The changes have disappeared from the master page, why?

    Changes in the master page of a dita topic file, but whenever I restart FrameMaker2015, any changes disappear, why? Everyone please answer!

    Adama

    mehjabins,

    The appearance of a file of DITA topic, including master pages, comes from a model when the XML source file is opened. Then when the XML file is saved, the information disappears. In other words, all information of formatting in a file in FrameMaker DITA is temporary, just a convenience for the creation of WYSIWYG. If you want the master page changes to stay permanent, you need to change the common model that is used to open files. If change you it, the changes appear in every theme DITA file that you open then.

    I don't know exactly where this file remains, perhaps someone else could give advice. I would say, however, that this can be a risky business. Be sure to make backups.

  • Cannot change the text in the Master Page

    I don't often work in InDesign.  I had created a template file for a book back in December 2011 (initially created in CS3).  I opened this file in CS6 today and did save as.  Now it's time to change a few things to customize for this new book.  So, I went into the Master Pages to tweak things.  But, I can't edit any text.  I can click on some pictures (not all), but no text is selectable or editable.  What in the world happened to my account?

    I have also returned for the final files for the book that I did in December (not the template file, the files of actual work).  Those who give me the same behavior.  Text that should be editable is not selectable.  Once again, some photos can be selected and moved, etc. but no text/text box.

    Is there a conversion that takes place opens a CS3 file to the CS6 which causes this?  How should I do?

    Thank you

    You can always open the objects individually using either the layers panel (which is been updated, too), or by clicking on the lock icon on the object itself (near the upper left corner).

    That said, you'll be happier if you cahng Evos preferences to allow selection of locked objects. This essentially restores the beahvior you are used to see - post is locked, but you can still select and put the content in a frame.

    OK there are two Associates as I see it.

    Each of your pages is made up of a solid, opaque, for a main image bitmap.
    Master Pages, by default, are at the bottom of the layer stack. Your
    tabs ARE present, you just can't see them because they are covered by
    the bitmap image.

    Assuming that you do not have these page images of the elements multiple objects,
    where you can change the blue background, there are always two things you
    can do, which are pretty easy.

    Go to each page and temporarily lower the opacity of the layer 1.
    Use the marquee tool to draw a selection around the area of the tabs.
    Delete the selection.
    Replace the lay full opacity.

    OR

    Try to drag the master page to the top of the layer stack in each page.
    Hide or remove the master page background.
    This option is a little more complicated, but I've been able to do. Expect that the
    bar black to appear before you release the mouse button. You may need to try
    This a few times before it works.

  • can I change the indents on Master Page without changing the text on the pages already finished?

    Hello

    With the help of experts on this forum, I corrected some problems of dash/tab on my two Master Pages.

    Here's the thing, though - it screwed up the four pages that I already created (and then manually set): the text in the placeholder on the top right text that I had already added to these pages and did other things also.

    I need to create Master Pages to use for all new pages I create in the future?  Or is it possible to set a Master Page and then tell InDesign to apply these changes to the new page I create, but to leave alone the pages already created?

    Thank you, Malcolm

    If the pages need to be different, you can create a new master page for each of these appearances. Conversely, if it's just a one-time deviation from the master, you could click the document page and choose replace all elements of Master Page in the Pages panel menu. The duplicate text boxes that you see is because you have redone the master to the pages of the document. This could be avoided by setting the text frame on the Master Page as a main text block. Who help me?

  • CS6 open only master pages?

    Hello

    Recently, I upgraded my Adobe InDesign CS5 of to CS6. Since then, I had three different files that has a similar problem - when I open them, these files, they open automatically to my master page. It was pretty jarring the first time, it happened to me and I found myself watching a nearly blank page!

    Now this isn't a huge problem, because I can use the Pages palette to open the page itself. But it's annoying, because there seems to be no way to change this, so this ID opens to the top of the page itself, rather than the model is based on that.

    I can't get a 'Save' after I see my page because ID think not that I changed something in the actual file, (which in fact, I did not).

    I print the file, and it seems I can still print all my content, even if it does not automatically appear on my viewing screen (without specifying that I want to see the real pages).

    So my question is this: would someone have an idea how I could solve this problem? Does anyone else know a similar problem where ID would only open your master page (s)?

    -Brad

    Normally, ID will be open to the last view when the file was saved. Try to make a backup from a page of a document to overwrite the old version, or (better) under a new name and see if it stillopens to a master page.

    Hello Edi,

    This normally happens when you add any code iframe in Muse design.

    If you are using any 3rd party code that creates an iframe then you will have to style code iframe.

    However if it is a page by default to Muse without 3rd party widget or iframe code, I will propose you to publish the file and let us know the direct link here so that we can look at the site codes.

  • An existing master page can be made to a child?

    I have about a dozen in a document master pages, that I converted to Pagemaker. I need to make some changes of trial and error to the page layout > margins. I don't want to make changes repeated available to each master page. I prefer to install a new master page layout and make other children of it. Don't see any way to do this. When I select any existing master page on the table on the Page and go to the menu of the control panel Page, Master's Options is grayed out.

    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

    OK, so the result here is the complaint that the selection of a single page of a multiple page master spread in the Pages panel does not give you the context or flyout menu options 'Master for MASTERNAME.'

    I think that the simpler solution is to rightclick the master name, to the left of the icon (or, in your case, below), rather than the icon. Then, it still works.

    I would call this a bug of cosmetics.

  • MySQL Sytax error with master pages and details

    Master and detail pages.
    I get a SQL error when I click on an item in the master page.
    "You have an error in your syntax SQL; "check the manual corresponding to your version of the MySQL server for the right syntax to use near 'ID = 16 LIMIT 0, 10' at line 1"
    If I try to open the details page, I get
    "You have an error in your syntax SQL; "check the manual corresponding to your version of the MySQL server for the right syntax to use near 'ID = - 1 LIMIT 0, 10' at line 1"
    I created this pair by clicking on insert/object / master details page.
    I tried this several ways, but always get the same result.
    Is there a bug in CS3?

    Sorry that I have solved it myself.
    I accidentally put a space in a header of table in the mySQL database.
    Everything works fine now.

    Master Page Items question: I use master pages for a 60 page document and just found out that some of my master page items are multiplying! There are some boundaries on the pages, and some of them are constantly a quantity apparently without end on top of the other. For example, I replace to change the color of the border and notice a black there's below him so I deleted the extra and there is another and another and another... EEK. I can easily hide them, BUT I fear they will lead to complications in the case of pre-press printing. What is the cause? What can I do to prevent it? How can I get rid of the stack-up?

    It's always haapening, if you substitute any element on the page and later master you reapply the same or another master. I would NEVER say to replace any itme master page in the page. Instead create another master based on the first, make the substitutions and apply this master. Substitutions on the pages should be avoided in all cases, not only for the problem you described above, other issues of accessibility will also come into play.

  • Master Page Bugs? Do not update the changes or apply correctly, New Page.

    I work for our new models of project with master pages and have found what appears to be several major problems:

    1 when I make changes in the Master Page (.htt file), none of those changes propagate to the topics that have been attributed to this Master Page. He shouldn't do that?

    2. as an alternative, I tried to apply a Master Page to several topics on the pod to the list of topics. The first problem with this is that you can not apply the existing Master Page. So, I had to create a new Master Page with my changes and then tried to apply it. However, several problems occur. First of all, none of the new Master Page formatting appears correctly. Second, for some reason it is duplicate the breadcrumbs at the top of the page (each master page, before and after only had a breadcrumb). It seems to have combined some of the formatting both before and after the template.

    I must also point out that when I apply the Master Page with changes to a new topic, it works correctly.

    I have read the documentation carefully and that you feel that I'm doing this correctly. The problem seems to be that the feature does not as promised. I see this as a serious problem. Our models are likely to change over time, and I need the ability to apply changes massively.

    Anyone know what could be the problem?

    Hello

    You must first understand Master Pages are used in two completely different ways. Looks like you make changes to the space reserved for the body of the Page Master and expected to see changes influence-related topics. Sorry, but that never worked.

    There are therefore two ways Master Pages are designed to work in RoboHelp.

    Method 1 - used to infuence the EXISTING content.

    Maybe you have created 1,000 and now you want to add a header, footer, or both to these existing entries. You set a Master Page and add a header, footer, or both to the Page Master and you associate it with topics. All of these topics now have a header or footer. Any changes made to the header and/or footer is filled throughout with all related topics.

    Method 2 - used to influence the new items that you create.

    You may know that you want to create many subjects that should have the same look and feel. Maybe all of them begin with a table that contains an image and text. So you set a Master Page and configure the space reserved for the body you want to see it. When you create new topics, you point to the Master Page so that as the topics are created, the content of the body of the Page master is filled in on the subject as a starting point. Once the topic has been created initially, the changes to the Master Page ARE NOT reflected in the topics. This method works identically to make a copy of a document. The copy is identical to the original. And any changes made to the original will be never copied during the copy. Only NEW copies will receive the changes.

    The breadcrumbs go, you have probably GLOBAL breadcrumbs activated in the recipe for the presentation of a single Source. This means that everything gets crumbs during the creation of the exit process. If you try to use the SELECTIVE Breading by adding space to the Page master, you must disable the breadcrumbs GLOBAL to avoid double.

    I hope that helps a little... Rick

  • Item added to master does not cs4

    Hello everyone, here is my dilemma, I started a document that has the left and right master pages. This document has been used for various publications for items not to change while the structure of the master remained. If I needed to edit, I outweigh the master page to remove or change the items. Recently, I changed an article on the master and it changed in my document. I chose the location on each page and chose to "remove"override"and that solved the problem. It was a pain because I had to do it manually to a large number of pages, but it worked.   So now, I was told to add something to the page. I create a new text box on the master and place it where it's needed, but it does not appear on all pages. I assume this has something to do with the initial substitution of each page, but I thought as a new element, would not take on this attribute. The only way I seem to be able to get it to appear is to manually remove the replacement of the entire page, but so would any other edits I've done default to the original master - which means I need browse and edit all the new manually - a lot of work I want to avoid.   My question is this - can I not add a new item to a master and do appear on all the pages associated with this basic form regardless of whether this page has already been replaced? It seems to be able to keep some items works even through substitution (and page numbers) so I hope that the solution is simple and probably something obvious that I'm missing.   Thanks in advance.

    Your description is a little hard to follow, but I think I have the basics. New items added to the master page must display on all the pages which the master is applied, but if you have overridden other objects on the live pages and they overlap the new object, they will be facing her on the live page, even if they are behind it on the master.

    On any given layer, all main objects are behind all objects on the page of the document. If you have a situation where you need a Master object in front of a direct object, add a layer and move it to the top layer. Just give it a try and see if it solves your problem.

    And a bit of general advice. If an object is being substitution of the master page, you need a VERY good reason for this to have been initially on the master page. The point of the master item set is they usually don't change, or if you do, they will have to change everywhere. Maybe you need more of a master, built in a hierarchy of "based on", so that you can edit an object of master for a group of pages at a time.
