Problems of reorganization of the items pinned in the recent Articles from applications menu pinned to the taskbar

Hello

Recently I encountered the following problem, for which I can't understand a solution. I have some programs such as Excel and Word pinned to the taskbar, and my most frequently used documents are pinned on the list of recent items of each of these programs (so I mean not the newest items on the start menu menu, but those pinned applications).

For more than a year, pinned reorganization points on the upper half has functioned well. In recent weeks, however, the reorganization has unexpected results: say there are, B and C and D made the pinned menu recent Articles of Word in that order. When I try to drag the C between A and B, C will be displayed before. Similarly, when you try to drag between C and D B, B will be the last element.

You, guys, a tip on how work this autour? I guess some kind of "reset" of this feature would be useful, it seems that something was stuck that wouldn't have to be pasted. If it's a browser, I would say that to clean temporary files. Is there something like that, what could I do?

What I tried:

* Detach all the elements of the word, and then start again pinning. No change.

* Menu set start to not maintain a list of recent items, then activated this option. No change.

* Searched my docs of the user and the registry for a list of the added items. Thought to find a folder of links asc:\Users\Launch\User Pinned\ \AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick , but I only found a registry key that looks like containing all these elements in a key chain with some additional data, so that I wasn't not dare delete this reg value enough.

(Environment: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, English version)

Looking forward to your advice.

In fact a solution has been found in http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/office/forum/officeversion_other-word/list-of-recent-documents-not-showing-up-in-task/8f63be2f-67b0-463e-995e-8274adefdcbe, and it works.

For me, the name of the file to be deleted in the %AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\AutomaticDestinations was 9839aec31243a928.automaticDestinations - ms, but the name can be an id and opposed on various systems.

The best is to find your file reorganize everything, PIN or detach a file in Excel, or just to open and close a file and then search for the file with the most recent date any time. All the operations described, I suppose, will modify the corresponding file, so all you need to do after this is to sort files by date, to find and remove the latest file, and you can start re-adding pinned items to Excel.

  • Problem of reorganization of the tabs in groups under the tabs single parent

I have an application built Apex 3.1 which began with a small number of pages using tabs in a single level. Over time, several new pages have been added and the tab bar is getting crowded. I want to rearrange the tabs in two levels.

I was able to successfully create the new tabset, get all my pages organized as I wanted them and then attach the tabset to the application: However, when to access the single level of enforcement of the tabset - down, the level of detail - was never displayed on the page. This single line of tabs worked again - I could click it and the page has been posted, but it was really not very useful given that the top-level tabs were not displayed. After messing around with it for awhile I had to give up and restore the original, crowded tabset.

Has anyone had - and resolved - this issue before? I recently installed Apex 4.0 so I will soon migrate my app and try again; However, I have no plan yet to deploy in production 4.0, so I would like to solve this problem in 3.1, if possible.

  • Problem with icon of the taskbar with Google Chrome 32

    Hello world

I have a problem when I try to Google Chrome 32 thinapp. I did the capture with WinXP using Thinapp 5.0. The application works very well, but I only have one problem. The icon of the Chrome in Windows 7 taskbar does not work. Instead, I see the icon included in the screenshot. If Chrome is installed locally on the computer, it works. I tried to capture on a Win7 32 and 64 bit and it gives the same problem. Has anyone had the same problem and found a solution?

    Thank you

    Francis

    Screenshot.jpg

Google Chrome 34 and 35 are still showing the same behavior...

    Do this test:

    -Launch Chrome packed

-Right click on the icon 'Virgin '.

-Right click on "Google Chrome" and select "Properties".

-Click on "Change icon" and note the error message: Windows cannot find the file %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Google Profile.ico

This file exists in the package, and if you copy the 'Google' Profile.ico in the capture folder in this location in the native environment, it works!

As you probably notice, I did it "BOLD" the word "Windows". If you use ProcMon to troubleshoot the behavior and search for "Google Profile.ico", you will see that the process "Explorer.exe" returns "PATH_NOT_FOUND". It is normal, because "Explorer.exe" does not and cannot run in the virtual environment.

Another solution to the file manually on the background, would be to rename the '% Local Appdata%\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default' '% Local Appdata%\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default.old '.

Then create a new folder "Default", with a MERGED insulation.

Once the package is rebuilt, it should work fine. Google Chrome checks if that file exists for this user and if not, recreate. With isolation being MERGED, it creates in the user profile.

    Hi bjgmd,

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site!

Since when are you facing this problem?

Solve a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows 7:

    1. click on start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER. (If prompted

for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on continue.)

    2. in the general tab, click Selective startup.

    3. under Selective startup, clear the check box load startup items.

    4. click on the Services tab, select the hide all Microsoft Services check box, and then click Disable all.

    5. click on OK.

    6. When you are prompted, click on restart

7 log on to your account.

If the problem does not reappear when your computer is in clean boot mode, a background program probably causes interference. You can try to determine which background program is causing the problem when the computer is in clean boot mode.

To find the process or program to cause follow the beginning steps to enable half of the points of service, in the following article:

Check this link for more information:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/331796

    To restore your Normal startup:

    1. click on start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER. (If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation,
type the password, or click on continue.)

    2. in the general tab, click Normal startup.

    3. When prompted, click on restart.

You can also run SFC scan on the computer that would be a system file corrupt on the computer search and replace.

    Scan SFC enforcement procedure:

    1. Click Start and type cmd in the box start the search.

    2. right click on cmd in the list programs and then click Run as administrator.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue

    3. at the command prompt, the following line, and then press ENTER:

    sfc/scannow

For more information, see the article:

If you are still having the same issue, then I suggest that you check in a new account of user if the problem persists.

    To create a user account:

    1. to open user accounts, click the Start button, select Control Panel, click user accounts and parental control, and then click user accounts.

    2. click on manage another account. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    3. click on create a new account.

    4. type the name you want to assign to the user account, click an account type, and then click on create an account.

  • When playing my game sims on laptop it keeps pinning itself to the taskbar

When playing my sims3 game he keeps doing offscreen and pinning itself in my taskbar at the bottom of the screen. very very annoying. It's my game or my laptop going wobbly? new game and new laptop, irene

    Hello Irene,.

Description of your question, I have noticed that during the game sims3 game he goes out of the screen and keeps pinning to the taskbar at the bottom of the screen. I can imagine how boring it would be.

    (1) what exactly is the problem you are having?

    (2) is the specific question of the sims3 game?

If the game is opened, it will appear in the taskbar next to the added items.

If the icon is actually to be pinned, reproduces the same after unpin it?

Please respond with the above information so that I can help further.

    Kind regards.

  • Firefox won't be the default browser for a user and pins himself to the taskbar

On my Windows 7 PC parents, Firefox always said my mother is not the default browser (giving him the possibility to make sure) and then when closing, he pinned himself to the task bar.

I checked and Firefox to default programs "has its flaws. I tried to get IE by default and then back to Firefox but the problem persists. The PC has no other browsers on it. Clicklinks in Thunderbird cause Firefox open, there'S no so it seems as if it is actually the default.

When Firefox is closed it still pin himself to the taskbar. I can detach it and when it closes, it is still there.

Search on Google, I have a suspicion that pinning occurs when the default configuration of Firefox. I also have a suspicion that something is wrong with the default for HTTP as it does not exist as a protocol to control custom Programs\Set Associations

    I have it solved!

The command "Firefox.exe - silent - setDefaultBrowser" seems to have restored the HTTP protocol in control custom Programs\Set Associations.

I found this command on http://kb.mozillazine.org/Setting_Your_Default_Browser#Force_Firefox_to_make_itself_the_default

  • SimplePass update, icon now always made the pinned to the taskbar

On my laptop dv6t, I let the software auto-updated to HP install what he wanted to update. After he did, an icon associated with Simplepass is pinned to the taskbar and I can't get rid of it.  Right click and select 'Unpin this program from the taskbar' do nothing.  How can I get rid of him. I want to keep the program. But don't want the icon pinned to the taskbar.

Then, when I opened Microsoft Excel, he said that a material change has been detected and I have to re - activate. Why would this happen?  How can I keep it from happening. Is it better to just never leave HP update anything?

I tried something in the sense of what aperez1221 suggested, and it seems to be an acceptable solution. I wasn't sure what you mean by ' unchecking the pass simple site.»  So I opend SimplePass and entered parameters.  I unchecked everything under "activate features and then tried to re - check one by one.  I have determined that only LaunchSite deactivating solves the problem and seems to leave the programme of work as it did before.  So thank you aperez1221 for pointing me in the right direction.

I don't know what I'm missing out on by disabling LaunchSite.  This solution may not work for anyone who uses the features enabled by LaunchSite. I did not understand what are these features. Seems like QuickLaunch, which allows me to drag a finger to open a program or a web site (in a new browser window). And I can still connect to websites using my finger as well.  Thus, with only disabled LaunchSite, SimplePass plans what he did before and no longer repinned himself to the taskbar.

I left that open for now in case someone has a solution that requires no LaunchSite, regardless of disabling that does.

  • Application Builder: pin distribution to the taskbar

    Hello community,

I have a program I am building an executable file, then an installer.

This installer contains of course the RTE LabVIEW and other things which makes the very broad distribution.

To distribute the patches, I use a second installer I created by making a copy of the first and then deselect the RTE, etc..

This creates a much smaller package and voila, with the exception of a whim:

If the executable file from the original installation is pinned to the taskbar it will stay pinned to the taskbar after patched at ONCE.

But if I build Installer "patch" a second time immediately (even without having to build a new exe) to install this patch will cause pinning break.

I can't understand the settings to keep intact pinning.

Does anyone have experience with this?

    Best regards Florian

    Hi Florian.

The problem is not directly related to the copy of the installer - this would happen if you rebuilt and then reinstalled the new version of the installer of origin as well. The problem is that version 2 of the installation program performs an action to upgrade MSI on the shortcut file that was installed in version 1.0. This action of upgrade first uninstalls the shortcut file having been pinned after installation of version 1.0, which eliminates so the pin of the Windows taskbar. Upgrade action ends then, by installing the file shortcut again. At this point, there is no pin code, because Windows is not a mechanism to associate the new version of the file with the old version of the file.

Note that the problem does not occur when you install the first version of the copy of the installer, because in this case, the MSI upgrade code is different from the original installer, and no update MSI action (and therefore uninstalling) occurs on the shortcut file. Instead, the MSI file installs just the new shortcut file over the existing, which does not affect the pinning.

To work around this problem, you should consider not installing the shortcut in the copy of your Installer. In this way, you can continue to rebuild the patch without losing the axis that the user does after they installed the original installer.
