Problems updating Adobe Application Manager
I noticed that many users see problems with a recent update for Adobe Application Manager. I too saw those questions and hoping to find what's happening built a clean build cool Windows 7 x 64 to test.
- Install Windows 7 x 64 and all updates.
- CS6 installed and active. (NO cloud creative - perpetual license.)
- At open Fireworks and ran to HELP. UPDATES.
- Choose just the AAM update and installed.
- Clicked on the new AAM shortcut on desktop and was awarded a progress bar and the message "Update"... ».
- The following error message appears: "Adobe Application Manager failed to install.
- Re-run the installer generates the same error.
- MAO traveled with Fireworks HELP | UPDATES.
- Update is fine. Updated the other applications of CS6.
- Restarted.
- Tried again the AAM shortcut on desktop. Update the message came again and so did error message.
- Tried running AAM directly from the browser by using "Run as Admin" - same error message. (This seems to actually work on my production system - the update is complete on this system, although it installed the client of creative cloud too that I then had to uninstall).
Keep in mind, this is a version of Windows 7 x 64 completely clean. There is no software antivirus or something else that could disrupt the MAO update procedure. Something with the recent update seems to cause problems. A fellow Robains forum user posted in another discussion that his analysis of the installation routine seems to indicate a problem of privilidge of HTML 5 in the installation/update routine. I can't give a second with his analysis, but it can give Adobe something to look into.
If other users see this unusual behavior (should have occurred recently, in the last two days about)-, feel free to post it here to describe your environment. Is currently seen on both Mac and PC platforms.
Hi Revv,
Could you please remove OOBE records of these places.
C:\Users\(your username) \AppData\Local\Adobe
C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Adobe
Once please download MAO from this location and let me know if this solves your problem or not.

Now, I closed "Adobe Application Manager" and reopened "Photoshop" and again selected "updates... " on the Help menu. The "Adobe Application Manager" opened again with just a window this time and the updates happened correctly.
I was hoping a updates would be the "Adobe Application Manager", I don't think so.
So, if I were you I would not select "Updates."... "in an Adobe application unless the " Adobe Application Manager " is closed until they fix IT...

Updated Adobe Application Manager in silent mode in a company, how?
Hello
We have deployed creative Cloud CS6 on Windows 7 and now Adobe Application Manager (PDApp) must be updated to work, but the remoteupdatemanager is not updated for this component. I tried seaching of solution on how to make it work without any result.
Users of the company care to share how they do, or you encounter the same problem?
Currently Creative Cloud have a license-wise positive experience, installation-wise, it's a nightmare from the days of pre-Creative cloud. Still trying to get CC works on Windows 8 with a generated PPC 32-bit package.
See you soon,.

Problem with Adobe Application Manager
I use a new version of Adabe Photoshop Elements 10 for Mac; but whenever I try to use the updat function I get the message "You need the Adobe Application Manager". After you download this Application Manager, I try to instaal and whenever I get the message cannot install the application manager.
I can't find why I can't install this Maneger. Anyone who knows the solution?
You download the Mac (dmg file) version and not the version of windows?
You won't have it. The only update for PSE10 is Adobe Camera Raw 6.6 which is indispensable if you have a new camera and take raw images.

I found the answer in another post (https://forums.adobe.com/message/4484225#4484225):
- Go to creative.adobe.com and download PhotoShop CC
- This downloads, installs and runs creative cloud
- As soon as he comes running, cancel the download of the CC PS
- All CS 6 applications are ready to be updated
Thanks, Bruce

Adobe Application Manager does not update on Win 8.1->; cannot install apps
Since the update PC Windows 8.1, Adobe Application Manager that manages creative Cloud applications will not update, that is why we cannot install or update apps CC (specifically, Acrobat).
By clicking on the download button on the Acrobat of CC page, Adobe Application Manager begins to update, and then stops with error:
We encountered the following problems:
Adobe Application Manager cannot install.

Repeated attempts fail. It is urgent to admin several CC apps so to be forced to use the App handler brings us a break of substantial activity.

Adobe Application Manager is updating every time I start it.
I use Adobe Application Manager Mac OS 10.6.8 to manage my subscriptions Photoshop and InDesign. A few days back, Adobe Application Manager downloaded and installed an updated (to himself) and since then, whenever I open it, it installs an update (the message says "updating Adobe Application Manager"), and then asks for my password of Mac OS and then my Adobe ID and password. So, if I light 5 times a day, each time the same process will be repeated. It's so frustrating and unnecessarily consumes my internet bandwidth. All troubleshooting help would be appreciated. Thank you.
Adobe Application Manager is no longer used now to download and install applications on older operating systems.
Adobe Application Manager is automatically updated for the purposes of Office Adobe Creative Cloud on Mac OS X 10.7 or later and Windows 7 or later version.
