Problems with the graphics card on Satellite Pro M10

Hi, this is my first post on the forum. I'm not a pro with computers or anything... the problem I have with my laptop is similar to the one in this thread:

http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=26849&TSTART=0

I spent half the day trying to figure out if my graphics card is broken, but since I'm a newbie with this stuff, I'm still not sure. :(

This is what makes my M10. I'm trying to describe the symptoms that detailed as possible, but I'm German, so please excuse my lack of words in some places.

1. when I turn it on, the laptop goes through the BIOS and give me scrambled BACK-screens and a slightly Warped windows loading bar. There is the consistency check, marked by black bars connecting the top of the screen down. After the audit, the screen goes black and nothing happens, or the screen of will just show me consistency check, do nothing. Be that as it may, I have to turn off the power (I think) and restart the laptop.

2. sometimes the laptop goes through the BIOS checking & conistency with a few graphical shortcomings. The office is anything but shredded when he gets to the screen of the Windows user. The static method is if serious I don't even know where is the button turn off.

3. sometimes Notepad starts very well, with the only graphic problem being the windows loading bar. When I go into Windows, the laptop pulls me a blue screen and stops immediately.

4. sometimes, the laptop works fine for about an hour or two. After I rebooted, I have the same problems listed above, once again.

5. If I open Device Manager and disable the graphics card, the laptop works very well. I have to lower the screen resolution and colors, but I can watch videos on youtube and everything. Finally, the laptop gets very hot on the bottom and the screen goes crazy again, so I turn the damn thing off.

I don't know what that means! If my graphics card is broken, the screen should be all static, ALL the time? Not just sometimes more,... could sometimes less be some sort of communication problem between the graphics card and cpu? Please help me with this!

Another thing I'm not sure about, even after reading the thread I linked above - can I replace the graphics card or not? Everyone said something different in the other thread...

see you soon,
Cozmo

Edit: maybe I will add when I got the screen scrambled and everything. I installed Civilization 4, just to check if my satellite pro can handle, and everything went well for a while. The screen then haywire and I rebuilt my whole system, but display problems did not disappear completely. They were gone for almost a month, and now they are 'back' or something.

Hi Cozmo

I'm not a technician but here nobody needs technical knowledge to see that there certainly is hardware problem. I also believe that this problem occurs due to the graphics card. Graphics card is part of the motherboard and it cannot be traded separately. The entire motherboard must be exchanged.

In my opinion, you have two options: either contact the authorized service provider in your country and speak with them, what can be done, or try to get the motherboard used. If you are lucky, you can find it on eBay. I already bought several hardware components for my old Satellite P10 on eBay.

Sorry Cozmo but I do not see any other logical solution for you.

Good luck!

  • Can I replace the graphics card on Satellite Pro A100

    Hi all

Just a quick question about the graphics card in my Satellite pro a100 computer laptop. I heard different stories about this.

The ATI RAdeon Mobility x 1400 card can be replaced on this laptop. If so how easy it is to do and how I could tell which cards would be compatible?

    Thank you

    MAcca.

You cannot remove, replace or update the graphics card.
The graphics chip is attached to the motherboard and it of not possible to remove it.
In addition, the motherboard is compatible only with the current graphics chip.

  • Problem with the software Modem on Satellite Pro L40

I tried to set up a connection Dial-Up Networking on a Satellite Pro L40 running Vista and can't get the modem to talk to the modem from the ISP. The connection appears OK and then you can hear the modem dial, but when the ISP picks up there is a bit of yelling and then my modem abandons the connection and I get the standard vista connection failed box.

    Things I've tried:
-latest drivers for the 2.1.77.0 modem (and the rest of the system) downloaded from Toshiba and installed OK
-all the updates of windows installed
-removal of the modem in the Manager of peripherals and re - install
-suppression of the agrsmdel.exe and then re-install
-try different cables to plug into the phone jack
-several different ISPS and phone numbers
-reduce the maximum speed of the connection
-connection to the same ISP with my Satellite L10; works very well never have time!
-using the windows to diagnose and repair the tool (set last resort!); says that the modem works fine and can not find a problem with the connection

Is it possible that the update of the BIOS on the laptop would make a difference (currently v 1.60)? I did some research on Google and found messages on various forums, which suggests that the connection between the motherboard and the modem chip is a little doubtful for all the Agere Soft Modem; If the case is it something I can fix myself or I should go for warranty repair?

    Hello

I'm sure that there is no problem with your modem, but with the configuration or even s ISP modem. I recommend you to speak with the support of the ISP.

  • Problems with the graphics card

Hey, so I spent recently to my laptop HP Pavilion of 15-n298sa of a windows 06:52 and she since has earned me an endless stream of problems, especially with my graphics card. As I am on break from uni I re-uploaded all my games on my computer and found that none of them bar those made before the middle of the 2000s, play for me and for all name them my graphics as being the problem - like solitaire spider fact etc. All have previously been playable, about a month ago, so I know that it shouldn't be a problem. I tried several times to install the graphics drivers (one-I can't remember their names - AMD would apparently install and that NVIDIA could not). When looking at the Info for the graphic drivers installed, "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter" that it's 2006 so I guess that AMD, it has not actually installed / was done wrongly. I was wondering if someone could help me?

BTW, I'm a complete technophobe and total so if you have an idea of what to do, I would appreciate it if you could put it in other words, because I am a plonker when it comes of this.

    Hello:

See if this graphics driver works.  Your computer laptop is only the graphics card Intel HD 4400 so don't expect too much of it.

  • Huge problem with the graphics card. Help me pls!

Unfortunately my pc is not guaranteed, so my last hope is here on the forum.

    I have Dell Inspiron 580

Ok.So the problem was that I found myself not being able to open My Nvidia Control Panel to verify customization as one of my games was so bad. That's why I found that my disappeared from Nvidia and Intel HD Core i3 graphics took place.

And yes my pc used to run with Nvidia I have proof: P

I must say that for me (as a heavy gamer) was a great kick as Intel uses all my CPU and my games become so difficult to play.

I have tried everything that I could to restore the return of Nvidia (except one: to reinstall windows) but not one chance :(

Reinstalling the drivers did not help actually I don't even know the type of driver that I need because that Nvidia is not found.

Any advice? It will go to normal if I reinstall windows?

Thanks guys and sorry for my bad English :D

    Hi Georgina26,

You use the graphics card onboard because your monitor is connected to the video port badly. Turn off the system, unplug the video cable and connect it to the video card into the PCIe slot.

If you are not familiar with the snap of a monitor on the back of your computer, please let me know and I will give a link to some photos.

  • Satellite A660 - 1 HL-problems with the graphics card

    Hello!

This is my first thread so I apologize if I am doing something wrong and for my bad English. :)

Just bought a Toshiba Satellite A660 - 1 hl with two adapters, integrated and a GeForce GT 330 M. The integrated works well, but when I go to the dedicated I encounter problems. The non-adjustable resolution in optimal mode and windows in the operating system (windows 7) delays when moving. I can't get info on the map in all kinds of temperature programs or dxdiag and such others.

I tried to install the drivers from nvidia, Toshiba and windows update with no improvement. I can't run Windows expreince index because I get an error message or of any average games do I encounter error messages there as well. I begin to doubt that the drivers installed even.

I hope you guys can help out me :)

It comes to getting the error messages:

    http://ImageShack.us/photo/my-images...krmklipp3.jpg/

You should test the RAM (memory) for problems using the Test of memory of Microsoft or the www.memtest.org (bootable CD).

To confirm that this is a hardware problem, you must save your documents and run recovery.

If the problem still occur on a new image, then the laptop should go to an ASP (Toshiba Service Center) for repairs (possibly a motherboard replacement).

  • Need the latest drivers for the graphics card for Satellite Pro M70

I have had this PC for a few months now and I was disappointed to hear that my drivers are WAY outdated. The only drivers I can find are here and they are only something v.8 (although the game reads this as an older version).

The problem comes when I want to play games like Half Life 2 and CSS, the game crashes because these drivers are up-to-date. Where can I get the LATEST drivers for the ATI Mobility Radeon x 700 for the Toshiba M70 Pro card?

    Hello

You can check the different graphics drivers form the papers that were delivered with the same graphic card as your Satellite M70 Pro.

Further, you can view different websites which also offers some graphics drivers, for example the site omegadrivers.net.

    Please note:
According to several threads here in the forum of the graphics driver installation non-Toshiba is at your own risk!

  • Device Mgr shows a problem with the graphics card

Mgr. device initially says Code 10, I downloaded a driver (zipped) website of the SiS to 2003 (in the era of the PC)

Right-click the compressed file, the shortcut menu contains the option "unzip" the files... Unfortunately these just led changing code code 10 code 1... basically the same problem I got it... either the pilot is wrong or not installed.

Tried again, using Cnet, it was a similar vintage but this time "Winzipped.

So that I could "unwind" that zipped, I can't do the same thing with the Winzipped file, the shortcut menu does not include an option "unpack".

Double clicking on it opens a ' run ', which opens the "Winzip self extractor" that has a button seems fair to transfer the file 'compressed' to another location.

This has the effect that the file is invisible to the driver installation wizard.

Question:-how you uncompress the Winzipped file so that the driver can be installed?

Question:-how to install a driver for this graphics card?

I finally managed to find a driver package actually installed and friendly user who was not compressed with the 'winzip' dratted unfussy... Wow! almost as good as Linux!

  • problems with the graphics card after installing windows 7, code 43

I installed windows 7 & my ATI-RADEON XPRESS 200 SERIES is stopped by windows 43.It code stipulates that drivers are ok... but it is not recognized... I also downloaded a few 3d Screensavers & they worked very well now, it is not able to open the screensaver because of the video card or to be compatible with Direct 3D... This question has not pop up until after you have installed windows 7, I have checked & found a lot of problems with windows 7 & ATI-RADEON XPRESS 200 SERIES drivers or recognition. Tried to update the driver but the States, it is far, but windows 7 is having a problem with drivers... Y at - it a fix for this, looks like it should be a matter of windows & microsoft should have action corrected problem because windows is caused this problem... Have installed all windows updates & all up to date... Can someone try to give me a solution to fix this problem? Not sure if they have an upgrade or accelerator program 3d graphics that may have to be installed... & again thanks if anyone can help... Have a great day...

ATI-RADEON XPRESS 200 SERIES is an accelerator of limited DirectX 9 graphics (integrated graphics), which was

published in ' 07 and apparently is not compatible with Win7.

Old hardware with a Windows version compatibility isn't something that never gets fixed by SM.

It is the mfg of the material to support the product through a driver updated, and trend of integrated graphic card

not be supported as long as a dedicated graphics card.

In this case support drivers apparently stopped with Vista.

If you try to get drivers via Device Manager or Windows Update they can provide incorrect information

What about drivers who are up to date.

These two methods are a little known does not install the proper drivers for the graphics.

I read that some people have had luck on Win7 with the Vista drivers for various materials. Doesn't hurt to try.

You can download the drivers for XPRESS 200 SERIES from the AMD website below-

  • Strange problem with the module memory series Satellite Pro 4300

I have a laptop Toshiba satellite pro 4300 series with 64 MB onboard + 64 MB Module and I want to upgrade my memory to 320 MB. I bought two ram of 128 MB each. I removed the 64 MB module and I put a 128 MB module into the slot (A) one, but I saw that the total memory is 128 MB again.

I removed the module again and I put the second module in the connector (A), but I saw that the total memory is 128 MB again. After that, I put the two modules in my notebook (Slot A and slot B) but I see that the total memory is 192 MB. This means that it recognizes each module as 64 MB as opposed to 128 MB. Dose anyone know why this happens?
And what do I do about it?

    Thank you.
    [email protected]

    Hello

Well, I put t know why this happens. It seems that the 128 MB modules are 64 MB modules. I know that it of strange but I have only this explanation. You are 100% sure that both modules of memory 128 MB?
In my opinion, you should check the bars of memory if they have 128 MB.

  • Weird problem with the graphics card

    I have a HPG42-478TX. Its about 2 years old.

I bought HP after a good review on my cousin bought a computer compaq laptop (apparently its been 5 years and his works up to now reliable). But I guess I made a bad choice.

I have a situation where I get BSOD on the graphics driver and then the screen just went and has no backlight. The blower continues to run away.

When you press the power button it shuts down and pressing it again to turn on and will show nothing, not even the backlight.

It makes a sound from the DVD player which means under its weight POST. But no display is there.

I recently found a way to start after I accendently kept running and it overheated.

After overheating I guess the chip inside is interrupted and it starts. I then start in "Safe Mode" and uninstall (not delete) the display drivers and restart.

Then it reboots and detects the GPU and it works very well for a week or two and go back to the same State.

This cycle has been completed about 5 - 6 times now, and I want a permanent solution.

I hope that the community can help!

    TIA

Without the video chip must be repaired by reballing or reinvest if you want to take the risk. It can not be deleted because who would disrupt the continuity of the circuit on the motherboard. It's all interconnected and interdependent.
