  Just for the sake of the argument, can this descktop take a second HD and have it be an SSD? Someone who knows more about PC that I do currently told me I should try this update but cannot find if it is possible to do in this one. I found an online on this subject but inconclusive discussion.

  Photos online of open chassis, it seems that it has space to take a second drive with the original but I see not all ports to plug. There is a location empty on the set and I don't know what it is for...

  The desktop HP Pavilion 300-050np Mini Card, it comes with a 2.5-inch 1 TB SATA 5400 RPM drive. It is the only drive that has been tested to work.

  Upgrade and maintenance Guide page 11, it shows there is place for a single player.

  I understand that you plan to install a SSD drive.

  Here is a link to HP 15 Notebook PC HP 15 TouchSmart Notebook PC Compaq 15 Notebook PC Compaq 15 TouchSmart Notebook PC Maintenance and Service of Guide.  Please note Chapter 3, page 19 article 12 for recommended replacements.  There is no listed SSD drive.  It simply means that they have not been tested with your model and the result is unknown.   You would do this at your own risk.

  AFAIK, there is no option for a second HARD drive, so if I change the default HARD drive with an SSD in my choice would that work? (which means I'm able to reinstall Win10 etc..)

  or rather, if I had to buy a HARD drive for this model caddy, swap it with the DVD drive and install it with a SSD would that work? Do I need any special ribbon cable?

  There is no information about this exploit, so if anyone has any opinions or knowledge that would be great.

  Your PC has only 2 SATA connectors, you will need to choose if unplug the DVD or HARD disc drive to install the SSD.

  I can imagine that the Win7 installation is possible. Problem is that this old machine is not supported for Win7 but it is supported for Vista. If I m remembering so many drivers, tools and utilities for Vista can be used with Win7. You just need to test.

  I recommend you do clean install of Win7. After dong this start to install the Vista drivers. Also check Windows update. Many riders will find themselves automatically.

  Add driver SATA during the installation procedure.
  The SATA drivers are part of Intel Storage Manager, which you can download from the Toshiba UE driver page.

  Do you really think on installing Windows 7 over several years old Satellite Pro 6100?

  In my opinion, it won't work because it is too old and not fast enough. Newer operating system that is supported by Toshiba is Windows XP and this should be the best choice for good old classic.

  So just to be satisfied with Windows XP, it's a good choice for older computers! :)

  Satego P100 series is very similar to the Satellite P100 series and if you need Win 7 drivers I recommend that you also check the drivers released for Satellite P100.
