Procedure call stored PL/SQL Oracle and an example of a query with parameter

Hi gurus,

I was wondering if anyone has an example/tutorial of

(1) how to call a stored procedure in Oracle PL/SQL to Oracle BEA Fuego BPM (give credits to all :))
-If you can go into details step by step that will be great. Especially on the variable mapping and in THE arguments.

(2) how poiing on a simple table of DB. A step by step guide / tutorial.

1 create the external resource, introspect in the catalog (tables, procedures,...) to your schema should appear, and if it is automatically stored procedure a method of appeal should appear in your catalog, then do slip and fall the calling code PBL method you.
2 - with an automatic activity overall, you can establish how many times this activity is executed, then inside the activity, you put the code to run the poolling.
It may be useful

  • Calling a procedure from a form of Oracle database

    Hello

    I have a question, we will be calling the procedure from a form of Oracle, and through that we can spend as input values from 1000 to this procedure and that we must return values back to the Oracle form also. Here the damaged take two or more parameters. Please advice.

    To receive the input values, we have the input parameter of the procedure as a type object, so that we can receive several parameter values.

    Thanks and greetings

    You guys can tell me where I'm wrong if I do something wrong. Why make these mistakes? because as far as I can tell the code (java and pl/sql) are both correct unless there is something I missed. It's kinda funny because I have another stored procedure I can call successfully.

    Thank you

    The first question is that the Boolean in Oracle is not a supported JDBC type, but a PLSQL type.
    Change to an INTEGER is probably the best, you can also use the PLSQLStoredProcedureCall class to access.

    The second problem is perhaps that the stored procedure is not valid, make sure that it compiled correctly. It can also be the type of your query, you must use a DataModifyQuery, not a read request that it returns nothing.
    If still no luck, try to call directly through JDBC, it works?

    How can I fix?

    Why do you think the example should work properly?

    Normally, regardless of the version, the privileges granted through roles (such as DBA) not available for stored procedures. Stored procedure of a DEFINER rights can only take advantage of the privileges granted directly to the owner of the procedure. Stored procedure of the invoker rights can enjoy privileges granted by a role, but that requires that the appellant has independent privileges to query the table in question (and, in this case, would require dynamic SQL usage).

    Generally, the simplest approach would be to grant the privilege to CHOOSE ANY DICTIONARY to the owner of the procedure.

  • Call a PL/SQL stored procedure - data type mismatch

    I call a PL/SQL stored procedure from within a procedure of ODI using the specified technique page Cezar and Julien (http://odiexperts.com/how-to-use-plsql-procedures-and-functions-in-odi) and I get the error "Wrong number or argument types»

    I tested each of the types of parameters, in that I'm passing and it is the text that is causing the problem. I tried to use 'Text' and 'Alphanumeric' for the data type of the variable of the ODI and so many VARCHAR2 and VARCHAR for the PL/SQL parameter type and I can't make it work.

    Is there a trick for passing a string in the ODI PL/SQl?

    Hello

    Ensure

    1. to declare/refresh of the variable before call to PL/SQL.

    2. If the variable is of "alphanumeric" ODI calling must be attached to apostrophes and prefix with the code project as ' #MYPROJECT. ODI_Var'

    3. as parameters you have u who must pass both during the call (IN, OUT, etc.).

  • In a table - looping through the rows and the stored procedure call

    APEX version: 3.2.0.00.27

    Hello

    I searched the forum and tried a few things but could not make it work.

    I have a tabular presentation, developed with the help of the ATD (Cascading LOV - method of tabular presentation - AJAX - ATD )

    What I'm trying to do now:
    -After submit and validations, loop through all the lines and
    -call a stored procedure passing 3 parameters obtained from each of the lines on the form of tables. This procedure will be an update of a database table.

    On the forum, I found that I could do the loop "* FOR i IN 1..." APEX_APPLICATION.g_f03. "LOOP COUNT *" syntax.

    Only for testing purposes, I tried just to view information with the following (On Load - after a footer) process (example of Denes Kubicek == > http://deneskubicek.blogspot.com/2009/05/execute-javascript-throuhg-plsql.html):
    declare
      v_today  varchar2 (200);
    begin
    --  :P40_test := APEX_APPLICATION.g_f03(1);
    --  :P40_test2 := APEX_APPLICATION.g_f04.COUNT;
      :P40_test2 := 100;

      v_today := to_char (sysdate, 'dd.mm.yyyy');

    --FOR i IN 1.. APEX_APPLICATION.g_f03.COUNT LOOP

      :P40_test := APEX_APPLICATION.g_f02(2);

      HTP.p ('<script type="text/javascript">');
      HTP.p (   'alert(''Today is '
              || v_today
    --          || APEX_APPLICATION.g_f04(APEX_APPLICATION.g_f03(i))
              || '.\n'
              || 'end!'');'
             );
      HTP.p ('</script>');

    --    :P40_test := APEX_APPLICATION.g_f02(APEX_APPLICATION.g_f02(i));

    --END LOOP;

    end;
    The foregoing would give me a ' * ORA-01403: no data found * ' message. I tried through various variants of APEX_APPLICATION.g_f0* #*, but still can't get anything to display correctly. In commenting on all the lines referring to APEX_APPLICATION.g_f0x above, the date would be are they displayed fine.

    I tried uncomment the FOR... LOOP and play with the code (defining the process runs "On submit - after calculations" and Validations), I got was a ' * ORA-06502: PL/SQL: digital error or value: character conversion number error * "message.

    Here is the script of the form in a table:
    select
    "V"."MSLINK",                                       -- hidden (number)
    "V"."INSTALLATION_DATE",                        -- editable date picker
    "V"."MANUFACTURER_INDICATOR",              -- editable (cascading LOV -- text)

    "V"."VALVE_NUMBER",                                -- shown but not editable -- number
    "V"."MODIFY_DATE",                                  -- shown but not editable
    "V"."MODIFY_USER",                                   -- shown but not editable
    "V"."VALVES_STYLE"."FEATURE"                  -- shown but not editable -- number
    from "#OWNER#"."VALVES" "V"
    Where
      "V"."PROJECT_ID" = :P1_PROJECT_NUMBER AND
      "V"."VALVES_DFLAG" = 0
    Regarding the parameters for the stored procedure, it would the MSLINK, VALVE_NUMBER and the VALVES_STYLE. FEATURE.

    Help, please!
    (Sorry for the long post).

    Thank you

    Tan

    Hi, Tan,

    I have not seen that type of object - I've only used custom types for purposes of test years ago and have never used their within Apex!

    One possibility is that the value of checksum being is based on all of the content of these fields, rather than only the part of the FEATURE. If there are other parts of the object, you could include those items as well.

    Otherwise, as you f01 KP for a record, you will need to retrieve the values of the FUNCTION in your PL/SQL code directly from the table (because the user cannot modify these fields, you can be sure that the values in the table will be still valid).

  • Return more than an OUT parameter of the stored procedure called in sql

    I searched for it, but maybe that I did a good job. I would return two parameters of a stored procedure that is called from an sql query. Something like
    select my_proc(in_param) from dual
    When the results of the query will return 2 columns. It is guaranteed in my design in order to return only a single record.

    Is this possible?

    The version of Oracle that I use is:
    Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.2.0 - 64bi
    PL/SQL Release 10.2.0.2.0 - Production
    "CORE     10.2.0.2.0     Production"
    TNS for Linux: Version 10.2.0.2.0 - Production
    NLSRTL Version 10.2.0.2.0 - Production

    Is this possible?

    Laughing out loud
    You can not call a stored SQL procedure. Only functions can be called from SQL.

  • Call stored procedures in the object module and application of entity

    Hello

    I've implemented a helper methods that contains the EntiyImpl base class to call stored procedures.

    Now, I need to call procedures stored from the module of the application.

    Apart from the creation of a module base class asks and the programme of assistance of duplication of code in the method is possible
    to share methods of assistance for calling stored procedures between the entity impl and application module impl?

    Concerning
    Paul

    Support code depends on characteristics of an object instance given entity beyond its database transaction?

    If so, I'm not sure I see how it could be used with a class of application module.

    Otherwise, here's what you do:

    Step 1:

    Set up the database transaction - you can even choose to. So instead of

    {myHelperMethod (Object someParam) protected
    DBTransaction trans = getDBTransaction();
    ...
    }

    This is for change

    protected myHelperMethod (DBTransaction trans, someParam Object) {}
    ...
    }

    Step 2: make the method public and static - once you set DBTransaction, you should be able to do.

    public static myHelperMethod (DBTransaction trans, someParam Object) {}
    ...
    }

    Step 3: Remove your EntityImpl base class method in a utility class:

    Public MustInherit class PlSqlUtils {}
    private PlSqlUtils() {}

    public static myHelperMethod (DBTransaction trans, someParam Object) {}
    ...
    }
    }

    When you call the method of application module, object entity or class of same view object, call

    PlSqlUtils.myHelperMethod (getDBTransaction (), paramValue);

    Unlike Transaction.executeCommand (), allows you to provide features like the setting procedure of parameter values, recovery of the values of the parameters, etc.

    Hope this helps,

    The Java application cannot 'see' the sp? Or is it something to do with privileges? I was puzzled by this during some time now, any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Kev,

    I expected this - so is it possible that your dumb object is null when you are in the ActionListener who manages the procedures?
    How will you spend until you use it (line 332), are you using Threads?

  • Calling stored procedures with parameters with the database connectivity Toolkit

    Hi all

    I'm new to the forum and struggling to find a solution to a particular problem I have in this respect, using the LabVIEW Database Connectivity Toolkit on a project, I am currently working on my work.  I have a database in which I tables and stored procedures with parameters.  Some of these stored procedures have input, output and return parameters.

    I tried to follow this example, but to no avail: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/07FD130746083E0686257300006326C4?OpenDocument

    Such a stored procedure I am working on the implementation is named "dbo.getAllowablePNs", running "SELECT * from DeviceType" (DeviceType is the table).  In this case, it requires no input parameter, it has an output parameter that generates the table [cluster] and has a return parameter that returns an integer value (status code for execution) to show if an error occurred.  The DeviceType table has 3 columns; ID (PK, int not null), PN (nvarchar ((15), null) and NumMACAddresses (int, null).)  I have surpassed many examples and I talk to the support OR try to implement this and similar procedures stored in LabVIEW but have not been successful.  I am able to connect to the database with the VI of open connection without error, but spin in some confusion as a result of this step.  I then try to use the VI of parameter query create to call the stored procedure and set the parameters.  I guess I would then use the Set parameter value for each parameter that is connected to the entry of parameters on the previous query with parameters VI VI?  I am also having some confusion during and after these steps as well.  I would greatly appreciate advice or suggestions that anyone could have in this situation because I am not a SQL expert.  Also, I would be happy to provide more information that might be useful.

    Kind regards

    Jon

    Here's what I use to do this.  I think I had to change him create parameterized query VI for him to work.  There is a post on the forum about this somewhere.

  • IPCC Express Premium supports stored procedure calls

    IPCC expresses premium version support database features get information from databases odbc by calling stored procedures? The customer does not want that all custom sql queries with access, we are only allowed to use existing stored procedures.

    Yes, there is a post in March that describes what you need to do. I am currently using stored procedures with a SQL DB client and it works very well. I don't have to add custom tables that correspond to the stored procedure output well.
