Hello again rob1637,

It is good to hear from you again!

I have studied your office more in detail, and based on the information contained in the product specification Guide your office has a motherboard that supports only the AMD APU Kabini E1-2500.

I don't have the possibility to advise you on what upgrade has a better monetary value for you, this title is a personal choice. However, I can offer you your options to upgrade hardware and software.

Regarding the memory on your computer, your system supports two modules of RAM at a time. If you want to update your RAM, the following requirements must be met:

  • The RAM must be compatible with the two sockets for DDR3 DIMM 240 pins on the motherboard.

    Hi there @Bucket2142,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!  I understand that you ask if a specific processor works with the motherboard of your system.  I'm happy to give you a helping hand with this.

Looking at the HP Pavilion Desktop PC p7-1455 product specificationsand HP and Compaq Desktop PCs - features card mother MSI MS-7778 (Jasmine), the motherboard supports only the following CPU upgrade options:

    Trinity A4 - 5300 65W Dual-Core
    Trinity Dual-Core A6 - 5400K 65 W
    Trinity A8 - 5500 65W Quad-Core

    Trinity image A10-5700 65 W

I have an AMD ATHLON II X processer 2 240 on a card mother M2N-68LA(Narra 6) in a desktop of COMPAQ Presario HP CQ5320F PC running windows 8 64 high. HP say this motherboard factory supports the following updates

    AMD PHENOM II X 4 QUAD-CORE 9XX/9XXE/8XX (DENEB)

    AMD ATHLON X 2 2XX/2XXE (REGOR)

I don't know what's what or $. I need some sound advice regarding this upgrade. Can you help me?

    MRED6400, welcome to the forum.

The answer to your question is the AMD PHENOM II X 4 9XX/9XXE/8XX QUAD - CORE (DENEB).  Ranging from 2 hearts 4 hearts will make a difference.  Moving to the top of 2.8 GHz to 3.0 GHz without increasing the base would not be worth the money.  Normally, I like double speed until I update.

This is the only processor that I could find that meets these specifications.  When a computer is five years old, it becomes difficult to find components that meet the specifications.  Manufacturers are moving at warp speed.  If you can find a processor that has a higher speed, you can buy it.

  • processor update PPGA988 and FCPGA988?

I am trying to upgrade my computer laptop processor and would surely appreciate some info about it.

I have a Probook 4730 s with an Intel Core i3 - 2330 M 2.20 GHz which, as far as I can tell and according to Intel, is a process of PPGA988.

I see that my laptop model (REF: A1D64EA) also supports the i7-2630QM and i7-2670QM according to the catalogue of spare parts. My problem is that intel says that these processors have a hold of FCPGA988.

I found an i7-2670QM cheap, but I don't know if I should buy it. I have no way to check if it works on my laptop until I'm actually spending money on it.

Is it possible to upgrade? Are spare parts of HP adapted in some way to get around this apparent incompatibility?

Please let us know of any experience or ideas, that you might have about it.

    Thank you.

According to the information provided by Intel, the i3 - 2330M works on catches of PPGA988 and FCPGA988. The i7-2630QM processor only works with FCPGA988 decision-making.

I just checked my HP Envy17-3002ea loan. It has an installed Intel Core i7-2670QM processor and oddly, when I run CPU - z he shows as a processor socket 988B rPGA package. The package of rPGA 988B socket is also called the G2 plug.  Here's an link interesting reference. It lists the processors that are compatible with the G2 spcket socket. This does not necessarily mean they will work, since they must also be compatible with the chipset of the motherboard in Notepad. It is the compatibility list of the HP maintenance and service guide for your laptop between in game for you help decide.

I suggest you launchCPU-zand see what it shows that the processor package type is installed in the motherboard of your laptop.

HP did not spare parts, they use just an outlet that has greater compatibility for Intel second generation Core processors.

  • HP 19-2014 processor updates?

Hi, I just bought a HP all-in-one 19-2014 at P.C. Richard & son.  The agent told me it was a "computer game" and that she could not be more wrong. I understand upgrading my processor could bring my performance on par with the graphics at least (that don't are not bad, by the way). I would like to exchange for the computer, I wanted in the first place:

  • Dell Latitude D620 processor update...

Hi all, great forum you have here...

I have an old Dell Latitude D620 and I want to upgrade the processor.  The specifications are the following:

    • Intel Core 2 Duo T5500 (1.66 GHz) CPU
    • 2 GB RAM DDR2-800
    • 60GB OCZ Vertex 2 SSD
    • Windows 7 Professional

Am I correct in thinking that I can go to any processor 667 Mhz FSB?  SO what would be the fastest processor I can get (I think Core 2 Duo 7400 and 7600)?

Looking at the Intel 845 chipset GM compatible products (http://ark.intel.com/products/chipsets/22816) that they do, but I thought I'd better check here first before buying.  Change from 2 MB to 4 MB L2 cache would affect something?

    Thank you very much!

    Gareth

Either people will work - just do not pay too much on the one hand, because the speed boost will be progressive - not dramatic.

  • Dell latitude E6440 processor update

Hi, I recently bought a Dell latitude E6440 with a processor Core I5 4300 M opportunity and I would like to put a Core I7 4910MQ in it and it would work? and if this system can he manage? Or I'd better put an I7 4610 m inside.

The i7 - 4610 m was delivered in this model, so it will work.  The quad core CPU (4910mq) probably won't - and even if they allow the system starts, the 10W greater power consumption can you net a very unstable system, because it is not designed for a CPU 47W.  MQ processors are usually shipped in large, 15 and 17 "system - not thin and light systems as your Latitude of game.

  • HP Envy x 360: updated HP Notebook System Bios (Intel processor)

I updated my BIOS version before (about a month) but I just found out that the HP Notebook System Bios Update (Intel processor) would have been forgotten. I actually cancelled this update and when I tried to do it again once it does me no more. I contacted the HP Chat Support at that time here and they said that my laptop was very good. I got a blue screen of death once and that's all. It was the only issue I've had with my laptop. After that I have updated to the latest version of the update of the birthday a week ago w10. I don't have any problems with it, my laptop works well. I have not encountered any problems. I just reccently bought this 2 months ago.

Well recently, I got an update in the HP Support Assistant about an update to the Intel 10 series driver. I contacted HP Chat Support and they said that my laptop doesn't have the driver. It was an update General and not directed to any specific PC. Long story short, he said as I have no need, I don't need to update and that my laptop was fine. The Windows 10 anniversary update... Well updates everything that said the tech.

    I was just wondering:

    1. is the HP Notebook System BIOS (Intel processor) update updated CRITICISM that I really need to find a link or something to update?

    2. is it harmful that I have doesn't have the update?

    3. do I really need updating?

    4. is this the reason that the HP Support Assistant advised me on the Intel 10 series driver?

My Version of the Driver is: 20.19.15.4377

I hope that I have provided all the information that might help you to help me solve my problem.

Answer all my answers and also explain are GREATLY appreciated.

I thank very you much in advance!

    @PaulineTan

Thanks for the reply to my post,

And Yes you have covered everything, I hope!

The 10-anniversary of windows update would install all updates driver concerned as well, so the BSOD issue you referred previously.

    (1) Although the update is not important, you can go ahead and install it as at the moment (this is optional).

    (2) Yes, you can, basically, there is nothing to worry about.

    (3) No, it is not critical.

    (4) No, it will not damage your computer.

More updates to the bios contains a fix for the specific issues, published by the manufacturer of the motherboard (bios) and at this point because you don't have any problems on the computer, you don't have to install it.

Let me know, if you need anything else!

    Kind regards.

  • HP Compaq dc7700 SFF PC can be upgraded to support a 2.66 GHz Intel Core2Duo (E7300) processor?

My HP Compaq dc7700 desktop PC small form factor is equipped with a processor replacement of Intel Core2Duo 2.66 GHz (E7300), Stepping/CPU ID 10676, but I now have a start-up error message: "1801 - Microcode patch error.»  Missing or not valid processor updated Microcode.  "Please contact Hewlett - Packard Company for a new firmware update to support the new processor Stepping.

(The computer start in pressing 'F1', but performance deteriorated due to invalid processor Microcode Update).

I sent to HP, but have yet to receive an answer.   (They may have bigger problems right now!)

The HP documentation for the dc7700 is ambiguous about whether if an E7300 processor would be sustained.  In this regard, the documentation recommends against editing processors more than 95W, but the E7300 is only a 65W processor (exactly the same as the original processor E6300).

I've updated the PC system BIOS (786E1, Rev 1.16, the most recent available on the HP relevant support Web page):

    http://h20000.www2.HP.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en & cc = us & prodNameId = 3232108 &...

"(mais malheureusement, il semble que Rev 1.16 n'inclut pas une mise à jour de Microcode valide pour le processeur E7300)."

It seems that I may need to wait and hope that HP will issue a valid and new Update Microcode for the E7300 dc7700 support page.  (With luck, the update of firmware would be included in an update of the BIOS which can be implemented through the windows, not via a legacy floppy!)

(I note that Intel provides an easy firmware update, but it is not easy for those who are running a Linux Enterprise operating system.  I am running Windows Vista Business 64-bit).

This is my first post.  Thanks for all the tips on the problem that I outlined above.

    Thank you Paul and Frank,

The evidence you presented against compatibility has begun to address substantial.

Furthermore, it is probably not conclusive in itself, but Intel motherboards with a chipset Q965 (at least the names of the Council containing the string '965') also do not appear to support beyond E6700 processors...

This message indicates that the BIOS does not support this processor.  An update of the BIOS can solve that.  Here is a page that gives this machine a BIOS upgraded with the firmware updated.  Click the BIOS category and choose the one appropriate for your application.  Which may or may not solve the problem, by providing the processor you have is included in the update.
