Dell latitude E6440 processor update

Hi, I recently bought a Dell latitude E6440 with a processor Core I5 4300 M opportunity and I would like to put a Core I7 4910MQ in it and it would work? and if this system can he manage? Or I'd better put an I7 4610 m inside.

The i7 - 4610 m was delivered in this model, so it will work.  The quad core CPU (4910mq) probably won't - and even if they allow the system starts, the 10W greater power consumption can you net a very unstable system, because it is not designed for a CPU 47W.  MQ processors are usually shipped in large, 15 and 17 "system - not thin and light systems as your Latitude of game.

  • Dell Latitude D620 processor update...

Hi all, great forum you have here...

I have an old Dell Latitude D620 and I want to upgrade the processor.  The specifications are the following:

    • Intel Core 2 Duo T5500 (1.66 GHz) CPU
    • 2 GB RAM DDR2-800
    • 60GB OCZ Vertex 2 SSD
    • Windows 7 Professional

Am I correct in thinking that I can go to any processor 667 Mhz FSB?  SO what would be the fastest processor I can get (I think Core 2 Duo 7400 and 7600)?

Looking at the Intel 845 chipset GM compatible products (http://ark.intel.com/products/chipsets/22816) that they do, but I thought I'd better check here first before buying.  Change from 2 MB to 4 MB L2 cache would affect something?

    Thank you very much!

Either people will work - just do not pay too much on the one hand, because the speed boost will be progressive - not dramatic.

  • Latitude E7450 processor and controller I can resize using the touchpad

Hi all new here so I hope that I write this in the right section.

I am the proud owner of a Dell Latitude E7450 processor and controller. It's pretty awesome compared to my old Toshiba.

One thing I was wondering, is it possible to resize using the touchpad as I used with my old laptop? I can use the touchscreen, but prefer not to if possible.

When I opened the "Dell touchpad" pointing devices, it has settings for a mouse, which I suppose is the touchpad. In the tab "pointer of the" there are pointers for horizontal, vertical and diagonal resizing, so thought it was possible. But if I still worked not how.

    Thank you

    C

    Hello

SOLVED! I've updated the BIOS and a chipset driver and all of a sudden I can use gestures on the touchpad. Also noticed a keyboard option and the touchpad appeared in "Dell Toucpad" program.

Don't know what update has been charged, but happy!

  • Latitude E6440 display blink when connect you to an external monitor via hdmi to VGA Converter

    Hi Dell Community,

Please help me diagnose what's wrong with my new laptop.

My laptop is Dell Latitude E6440, but whenever I connect external monitor to my laptop HDMI via HDMI port to the converter VGA, the external monitor still flashes randomly every two seconds. This VGA HDMI converter / works fine when I used it on the other laptop.

Currently I still have the chance to try my laptop HDMI port to connect directly to a HDMI monitor because I don't.

Is it that someone has the same problem with me? Thanks for your help.

Dell currently manufactures replacements of main card to resolve this problem. They will be available at the end of July. Please make sure you have a current subscription and contact support to be eligible for replacement.

  • Windows Update runs continuously after the installation/purchase program for Dell Latitude E6530 with Windows 7 Pro 64-bit

    Hello

I bought a Dell Latitude E6530 'renovated', that was the end of the lease. (It was not defective). I started up and installed Dell help. I have had no trouble to do a few minor update of drivers. However, when I try to update Windows it just runs and.

I checked the Windows Update with the troubleshooting Diagnostic Utility. I made sure that there is no infection or rootkits on your computer. I followed several suggestions I found the title of Microsoft Support positions and renamed the folder of Distribution system, as well as a few things of the reset. I have register/authenticate online with Microsoft Windows software.

When I run the troubleshooter, it says registration for the Service is missing or damaged, and he said it suits him, but he can't solve "problems installation of recent updates. However, when I run it again, it is said that he correct once again.

    Any suggestions?

  • Latitude E7450 processor and controller, E - 2, unstable configuration port of the U2715H - two monitors-

I have two monitors U2715H connected via a CDM-> DP cable each to a docking station E-Port Plus (in fact an Advanced Port Replicator EURO2) in which sits a laptop Latitude E7450 processor and controller. All items are brand new. E7450 processor and controller is equipped with 16 GB of RAM and two graphics cards: Intel HD 5500 Graphics and NVIDIA GeForce 840 M; selection is automatic, which usually means that the 5500 is running. It runs Windows 7 Enterprise SP1 (64-bit). The docking station has apparently DP 1.2 a capacity (for chaining) but DP 1.2 is disabled in both monitors.

I have correctly configured the system to have Windows desktop space both monitors at 2560 x 1440 resolution, even with screen internal latitude as a third request for an extension to its full resolution (1920 x 1080). The main screen can be set to one of the two (or three) and I can successfully move the sequence of monitors around (left, middle, right).

There is therefore no doubt about the ability of the system to support the planned configuration. However, when I dock the Latitude (most with the lid closed) and start, most of the time he is unable to restore the configuration of the two external monitors. Some of the symptoms are: one or two monitors go black, indicating the cable connected but no signal from the docking station. If there is a picture on one of the monitors at startup, it may or may not contain the login screen. (I can still log in because I know which keystrokes to send.) If the login screen is visible, it is usually in low resolution. If I have several active screens, but one is black, I can move the mouse pointer (or an entire window) on the screen black (in the middle or on the side), but it is not visible here.

Both monitors come right out of the box and the only change I made is to move from the DP to the mDP as input channel. I reinstalled the cables and exchanged the cables between the two DPs on the docking station. I turned the market monitors. I ran the self-test the requirements on both monitors. The connection of the laptop on the docking station is a little wobbly, but I use the spacer provided for the E7450 processor and controller and making sure the connection is correct and stable. I've updated all the drivers and BIOS of processors E7450 and controller. I recently saw a reference to a BIOS for the docking station; I didn't know it existed, but I'm not.

The installation instructions provided with the monitors were a note on consulting the CD provided for the use of the screen to maximum resolution. E7450 processor and controller is not an optical drive, but I read all of the documentation for the monitor to Support technical without finding what whatsoever to shed light on the situation (in addition to ensure that the graphics card and drivers are up to the task).

Once I connected, I can manage to make it all in order by randomly (?) lower the resolution of the screen, change the position of the main screen (left-center-right), deselection reselection CDM as entry way and forcing other changes. Once the two or all three screens in operation, I can put them all to maximum resolution and beginning of work. However, it is rather annoying and I would like to have a stable configuration.

The configuration seems to survive power cycling of the laptop / station but not if I also disconnect the laptop. I should mention that when I detach the E7450 processor and controller, I can use it in other configurations, with or without other external monitors through other ports, before turning it off and later re - anchor as described. However, for the first month I had two old non-moniteurs Dell of any resolution (on DVI and VGA ports) connected to the docking station and the configuration is stable, and for years I used for my older Latitude with a docking station that is older, remembering his device between different hardware configurations.

Please, someone - and Dell support staff in particular?

  • "Installing devices" break latitude E6440 OSD

I'll have a few quirks with our TS and some of Dell's Latitude E6440s news we have received recently. I use the latest driver for Windows 7 (A06) pack in our SCCM 2007 environment. I have all the drivers that have been imported from this cabin, and it is applied during the TS specifically for this model using a driver Package. But I also tried just TSing an E6440 with auto-apply, but I see the same thing.

Basically, it gets to "Setup installs devices" and from 65%, it will increase the percentage point ever 10 minutes or more. It eventually reaches 100%, blue screen and continue on the TS. The TS will end very well, but when you start the laptop, it will say that he is recovered from an unexpected shutdown. And the Wireless does not connect. removal of Device Manager and let Windows reinstall the driver allows him to return to work. No other oddities in the Device Manager.
I tried to remove all the drivers and re-import. In the past when I ran into something like that, updated all drivers updated to the latest version usually solved this kind of problem. Unfortunately, the A06 pack already has the latest drivers. A singularity is that all new computers come with BIOS A08, though A07 is all that is available from Dell.
Has anyone else seen elsewhere? (the pause and the incrementing every 10 minutes) I'm another TSing right now to check the logs in more depth, but can someone point me in the right direction?
    Thank you

The Blue error screen, I got is the following: "DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE" although I don't have the specific error in front of me.

And Yes, I deploy on several Dell models with zero problems. I use WMI filtering and CAB packages for each of them. The only problem I've had is with this specific model and CAB.

Thanks to another mail list, they showed me the ATI video driver in the current version of the car. Although the models of E6440 which deploy us only have Intel graphics cards, I took their suggestions and the ATI video driver removed from the packaging. Which corrects the problem. No more crashes, blue screens is more in the TS and the wireless card is operational after the TS.

  • Dell Latitude 10 + 8.1 Windows = display problems?

    Hi all

I have a Dell Latitude 10 ST2 with processor Atom Z2760, official update 8.1 public today and is Intel Display driver no longer has recovered the kind of questions of standby with Intel drivers 9.14.3.1160 who came through via Windows update and are dated from the 16/06/2013!

Intel and Dell have no other update even though we are all updated 8.1 today and I tried to use stock Microsoft ones ( replace character removed according to the TOU >) and can't get anything to work right - help?

Hi again, there is some good news, it seems. My tablet today received a new update of the graphics driver through Windows Update. This is the version 1176 (8 November) and it seems that the issue of awakening has disappeared. It remains to be seen if it is stable in all directions. See you soon!

  • Dell Latitude Tablet: Error Code: 0xc0000034 in Windows 8 - data file for Boot Configuration missing required information

    Hello

I compressed latitude 10 Dell with Windows 8 and the Intel Atom processor.

After hibernation, when I tried to start the Tablet, I received this error message only after no previous problems for the last 15 months.

It is said to use the Windows installation disc or a USB stick, which are not provided with the tablet. I don't even have the windows product key, because, as directed by Dell, the key is injected into the Tablet, and if necessary to check, it's done automatically.

The system had all the recent updates and was fully charged when this happened.

Please advice any option to solve this problem. Help, please.

    Ross

    Hey Ross,

This error may be fixed by the repair or reconstruction of the Data of Configuration startup (BCD) store. However, this can be done with the help of installation of Windows 8 media.

Here we have an OEM of Windows 8 pre-installed on your Dell Latitude 10 Tablet version. So, we have not the installation of Windows 8 media or product key. The best approach to work on this issue is therefore, contact Dell Technical Support for assistance.

You can get in touch with Technical Support from Dell from the link below:
