  Figured it out. It turns out that I hid my column 'Mode '.

  Could you please try to reset the preferences of Captivate by renaming the folder mentioned below.

  C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Adobe

  There will be a folder with the name of Adobe Captivate 8. Rename the Adobe Captivate 8_old folder to reset the preferences and then try to create, select shape it and fill it with the color.

  Fixed. I removed the Remote, reloaded app to my iPhone and then reinstated the info Apple ID and password in the app all connected immediately. The 'Remote' option is not always present under file/devices/Remote, but everything works well at this point.
