Program effect missing Windows sound events

Hello, I have a problem with the customization of the sound effects for windows 7.

I'm fine with changing the sounds and all, but for some reason, everything suddenly all program events which you EF sounds for (like windows asterisk) are missing. now, there are only a few sound options on the left, and they are other programs provided with windows, not only the effects of normal windows.
Screenshot of the sound effects from my computer window

Screenshot of some of the events program I'm absent (not my computer)
http://cdn3.PCAdvisor.co.UK/cmsdata/features/3325021/change_sound_win7_5-W250-H350.PNG

Managed to fix on my own via regedit.

If someone else is missing program events by default, you can add them via regedit:
go to start and type regedit to search bar. Press ENTER.
In the regedit window, navigate to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\AppEvents\Schemes\Apps\. By default
and add the following key names inside the. Default directory:
http://i.imgur.com/RldufWe.PNG
After that, you can open sounds and program events (for default sounds at least) will be present once more. For other program event sounds you can add in a similar way, but I can't tell you what key names would be exactly.

  • Play a new sound event during the Windows logon procedure

    Hey all,.

I recently added a new event of sound program in the windows registry (HKEY_CURRENT_USER\AppEvents\Schemes\Apps\. Default value; This is the path where information about sound events, for example the logon Windows Audio, audio device connection, etc.).

I want the sound to be played when a user enters a wrong password in the logon screen. Is there a way to change the code of the winlogon process so that I can allow Windows to play this sound event? If not, is there another way to achieve this?

Take a look at this article:

    http://www.codeproject.com/kb/audio-video/soundalerts.aspx?FID=14575&DF=90&MPP=25&noise=3&sort=position&view=quick&select=1325544

It's a really pretty complicated procedure because it might require playing with the code, which quite frankly, I'm not the strongest. I'm thinking that it's too tedious to mess with.

  • This program requires a component missing Windows

After installing a program of seven "Ulead DVD MovieFactory" to my new Window 7, I received a message ' this program requires a component missing Windows. This program works OK with Window XP, but does not work with Windows 7. Please help me find this component missing Windows.

    Hello UleadinWindow7,

The Windows 7 Compatibility Center lists no information on Ulead DVD MovieFactory is compatible with Windows 7.

You can try to run it in Windows 7 compatibility mode.

If the program is not compatible, then you try to install and run the program in compatibility mode.

    Use the following steps:

    (1) right click on the program

    2) click Properties

    3) click on the Compatibility tab

    (4) select run this program in compatibility mode and select Windows Vista or other operating system, the program has been run successfully.

Check out the link here: make sure to run older programs in this version of Windows

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/make-older-programs-run-in-this-version-of-Windows

If compatibility is not successful, then try and self-test program compatibility issues:

    1. open the program compatibility problems theStart button.

Then click on Control Panel. In the search box, type troubleshooting tool, then clickTroubleshooting. Under programs, clickRun done for previous versions of Windows.

    2. follow the instructions in the troubleshooting.

If you are unable to install a program, insert the installation disc for the program and, using the Troubleshoot utility, navigate to the program setup file, usually called Setup.exe, Install.exe, or something similar. This utility is not designed to work on programs that have an .msi file name extension.

If you are running Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate version, install Windows Virtual PC and Windows XP mode (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/default.aspx) and run your software in Windows XP.

If you run Windows 7 Home Premium, try VirtualBox (www.virtualbox.org) or VMware (www.vmware.com) Player and install a separate copy of Windows XP (family or professional edition) for this purpose. You can find the virtualization software free that will run on Windows 7 Home Premium.

    Hope this information helps.

My default sound events work fine but when adding a new wav. a sound event file I don't hear it. When I try to listen to the sound, I get:

Windows cannot read the wav.file "xx". The file may be damaged or may use an unrecognized compression format. To solve this problem replace the file or use Add/Remove Program Control Panel to install Audio Compression.

    Hello SiLKSY,

Thank you for your message.  You mentioned that "Windows cannot play the 'xx' wav.file' is a type-o or did you mean wav.file?  If this is correct, that your problem is the name of your file, which should be 'xx'.wav, do not "mpfprojectdir\dev10\src\csharp\projectbase.file".
If it was just a type-o, you go to the website of the manufacturer of your computer and download/install the latest audio drivers for your computer.
Please let us know if this or do not resolve your problem.

First of all, note that you should be concerned all the programs
starts automatically, not only those who enter in the system tray.
Not all the programs auto-start manifesting by an icon in the
    Status bar.

On each program, you don't want to automatically start, check its
Options to see if he has the choice of not start (make sure you)
Indeed choose not to run, not just a "don't show icon.
Optional). Many can easily and better be arrested like that. If that is not
work, run MSCONFIG from the start. Run the line, and then click the Startup tab.
Uncheck the programs that you do not want to automatically start.

However, if I were you, I wouldn't do it just for the application of
the minimum number of running programs. Despite what many people say
You should be concerned, not with the way that a lot of these programs
you run, but who. Some of them can degrade performance severely, but
others have no effect on performance.

Don't stop all programs to run willy-nilly. What you need to do
is to determine what each program is, what its value is up to you which
the performance cost is its running all the time. You can try
Internet search and ask questions about the details here.

Once you have this information, you can make a smart informed
decision on what you want to keep and what you want to get rid of.

These files are patches for the X 3 program and have nothing to do with Microsoft SP 1, 2 and 3.

The error that gives the installer of windows, is that the patch cannot be installed by the installer, because the program is missing (which is not the case) or the upgrade patch may update a different version of the program, (which he did... this fix is designed especially for the X 3 only and is in fact the upgrade for him.)

It says to check that I have the program on my computer and I have the appropriate fix. (What I'm doing.)
    NOTE:
Last week I had to remove Corel X 3 from my computer and re-install. After that, I couldn't get the patch installed, and it needs those 2 patches to work properly.

    Hi valleyml,

-When you say "restore - point program is missing" do you mean to say that the system restore feature is missing or there is no restore point while trying to run the system restore?

If you are referring to the restoration of the system, start the tool to restore the system to the command prompt and check.
Check out this link to do the same thing:

If it does not start, check if the system restore has been disabled.

Go to control panel | The sounds and see if the device is listed and you can control the volume there.
