• Continues to change the proxy server setting in Windows 7

  I am running Windows 7 on a HP laptop and have a problem with the proxy server setting.  Internet usage has slowed because it tries to use a proxy server and I do not have.  I can access the settings and uncheck the "use a proxy server" box, but it becomes checked again in a few minutes.  How can I get there the way I put it.  I remember to hit the "OK" button when I do change.

  Hi all. Got an old school time Capsule. Not sure if it's the 2nd or 3rd gen. In any case, whatever it is, it should support the 7.6.7 recent firmware update. But the update does not appear, and I wonder if it's all of the parameters of the proxy server and things, that I am forced to use at school. Any ideas? I guess I could bring home and... what?   I doubt it's just a proxy firewall to protect the school system seems more likely.

  You can certainly take it home and do the update it.

  It's simple export the existing configuration of the TC via the menu at the top of the airport utility.

  Then reset it at home to fit your network and once updated to restore the configuration to the school.

  Please note... improvements on any firmware you have now are probably minimal (non-existent).

  A 2nd or 3rd gen TC is now ancient history and likely to die tomorrow.

  I can tell where download the firmware... then you can upgrade manually.

• I do not use a proxy server to connect to internet, but Firefox is automatically configured to use the loopback address.

  I have a direct connection to the internet and that you do not use a proxy server. Every few weeks, Firefox will automatically reset itself to be configured to use a proxy to the loopback address (127.0.0.1). Manually change to 'No proxy' works, but I have to do so every time I open the browser or even a new tab.   Hello rjlasser, first of all please make sure that none of your extensions is the origin of the problem (some circumvention of censorship of youtube addons do also use proxies for example).

  I see a lot of proxy problems reported by users of Firefox 18. If you're not the only one with this problem.

  For now, I advise you to go back to Firefox 17.0.1 until Mozilla fixes this bug.

  I get the following message is displayed:

  I did enter the tool/Options/network/configuration and change, but whenever I restart Firefox, it does not remember the settings.

  If this does not work in mode without failure, then disable all extensions and then try to find out who is the cause by allowing both the problem reappears.

  • Choose "Disable all add-ons" on issues to troubleshoot Firefox in Safe Mode to set window to disable all extensions.

  I solved it without defining the system to its default settings.  Thinking that maybe it's a corruption of user admin role I added other roles to my user profile form which also have the ability / permission to make changes.  Fact:

When I uncheck the box "use a proxy server" it does not apply only change.when I click OK, it always comes back to the box is checked.
