PS CC 2015, save as tiff psd files

Why PS CC 2015 save the psd files edited in the form of files tiff without my permission?

Bill,

Ask you about two completely different issues. I'll respond to each.

(1) - preference for why PS saves TIFF files when they are opened from Lightroom is set inside Lightroom. Go in your Lightroom preferences and look under the external publishing tab. I have attached a screenshot. As you can see that the default is set to TIFF. You can change this in PSD, or you can simply register a file from Photoshop. I had very good luck save as method. The new PSD file is usually automatically imports in LR. Sometimes, for reasons I can't understand, I have to manually import the PSD image. If you simply save the file to the PS, a TIFF file will be created in the same location as the raw file, and it will be imported into LR.

(2) when you send a NEF file to LR ch using edit in Photoshop command, LR creates a raster image made up of pixels. A raw (NEF) file contains no pixels. Because the file has pixels before he gets to the PS, camera raw has no need to be called. This has nothing to do with or not the image has been edited in LR. It is possible to send the image to the PS as smart object, which still contains the data camera raw. Go Photo > edit in > open as smart object in Photoshop. This will create a smart object layer in PS. If you double-click on the smart object layer, it will open in camera raw.

I hope this helps.

Press and hold the keys Alt + Ctrl + Shift (Windows) or Option + command + shift (Mac OS) you launch Photoshop. You are prompted to delete the current settings. New preferences files are created the next time you start Photoshop.

Or see How to remove/reset the Photoshop preferences

  • Save work as a .psd file separate plans?

    Hi all

new feature of work plans is impressive, but I can't seem to find a way to save the plans of work in the form of separate .psd files, how is that possible?

It is not possible now, but I put in a request for it. If all goes well they will have more options export soon.

  • Is it possible when you save the psd file to put an automatic jpg file saved at the same time?

My job is to prepare images for print viewers and window facilities.  My clients need to approve in advance the photos before printing.

I generally save my psd files, but because the files are very large in this format I usually save another copy in a jpg file which has a much smaller file size.  This makes it possible for me to add to a presentation and and send them to my client.

Is possible when you save the psd file to put an automatic jpg file saved at the same time?  Or that I always have to do it manually?

Use the Image Processor in Photoshop or install the free Dr. Brown Services.

  • How can I get 12 PES to save a TIFF file with file extension ".tiff" instead of ".tif"?

I use PSE 12 as an external editor for Aperture.  When I ask to use an external editor photo, opening creates a .tiff file in my folder of opening, lance 12 PES and told him to change the .tiff file.  It all works very well.  When I am done editing in PES 12, I ask him to save the file and it saves it in the original opening file with the extension .tif.  I would say rather "save under" and then it suggests the name of the file with the extension .tif.  When I fix the .tiff extension it tells me that I will replace the file (that's what I want!).  I say Yes and then I find that PSE did not overwrite the file, but he wrote in a .tif in any case file.  I have to go in the folder, delete the .tiff file and rename the .tif .tiff in and then everything is fine - but what hassle.  Did someone solved this problem?

This isn't quite the problem, which is good, because you can't change that. The real solution is that you never want to see Save as window in PSE if you use PES as external editor for any program. When you see you're not creating a version for your asset management program. Go to the PES preferences > saving files > first record and choose to save to the existing file. This should do what you want.

  • Save PSD files in Photoshop CS5.5

    Hello

I'm new to photoshop and I'm having a problem to save my layers in PSD Photoshop cs5.5.  I created 4 layers, and they all look great. the screenshot of my properties panel looks like this:

    photo shop pic 2.jpg

The problem is that after having record in a PSD file and during the recording process of the layers box is checked, it only opens with all the layers.  So, if I close the original that has all 4 layers and then it reoping after his saves, it's not the same.  The image looks correct and all layers are in the picture, but on the properties panel aside, it looks like this

    photo shop pic 1.jpg

Please help, because now I'm not able to change this picture later if I like it because I can not select individual layers.

    Thank you

Hang out you in Photoshop on top a canvas already open to open it?  Try dragging on the BORDER of Photoshop instead.

  • What does it mean to 'Include develop settings inside JPEG, TIFF, and PSD files metadata?

I wonder what the option ' include develop settings inside the JPE metadata . G, TIFF, and PSD files"in settings/metadata catalog done?  What happens if you uncheck the box?

    Bob12312321 wrote:

also when this is unchecked lightroom always will record keyword changes to raw (nef) files?  Thank you!

Metadata (metadata 'real' like keyowords or develop adjustments) are never saved in Raw DNG files (like .nef, .cr2) directly. With these files, there is always a file called (with the .xmp extension) created to contain the XMP information.

And Yes, if the option is disabled, LR record key words on the XMP sidecar, when you 'Write to the metadata file' or have the autowrite option active.

  • Save in TIFF or PNG with transparent background

PS cc (2015.5.0) create an image with multiple layers, all with transparent when I try to save as TIFF or PNG so I can move to the WEB Site, the file does not keep the background transparent. How can I solve this.

For the WEB using the PNG.

If all your layers are transparent,

Save the png file, and then reopen the file in photoshop to check if it is registered with transparent background.

  • PSD-file is not compatible

Open a psd file in Photoshop CC 2015, the program responds by saying that the file is not compatible. I made the file CC2014 or CC2015 and then worked on it in CS6. Now it does not work on two programs

Changes with each new version of Photoshop PSD file format, so it is built into the functionality of compatibility built in for when you save should you want to go back and use earlier versions. It was not many changes between PS2014 and PS2015 but CS6 is old and there are differences.  It seems that if you have which off preference saving mode of compatibility and openness to CS6 corrupt the file. .

To activate the dialog box above go to preferences under Edit and change there.

If your file is large PSD files can be repaired with a tool like repair PSD of Phoenix, but you'll probably lose something.

    Hope that helps

  • importer reported a generic error with .psd files

    Hello

Recently updates to Cs5. I get the "importer reported a generic error" when I try to import a .psd file. I have photoshop CS 2 installed.

When I try to import jpeg, tiff or any other fotmat still I get errors such as "the bitdepth is not supported" and other such errors. I can't import still images. It's really frustrating.

Work is about to export a still of the time line. Open in photoshop and save it as a psd with layers. import the layer I first wanted to import.

any ideas of what could be the cause?

    Welcome to the forum.

There are several considerations with still images:

    They MUST be RGB.

They cannot be indexed or CMYK.

    They cannot be progressive JPEG.

They can be a higher resolution to 8 bits.

PSD have had problems, if a layer (or more) are smaller than the full pixel x pixels of resolution.

They cannot be larger than 4096 x 4096. Prosaic, quality will be better, if we adapt to close the project frame size in PS.

Let's see - to be a little more "they can't be', but I can't think of them now.

All the foregoing apply to one of your images?

If the above does not apply, so please give us details of the problem files.

    Good luck
