PS CS5 Std - Photoshop.exe several process seen Running

Interesting.  A few times, I spotted several Photoshop.exe processes running in the Task Manager.  It was a curiosity, and I ignored it, perhaps thinking that adobe was doing something special to divide the work.

Today, when the updated Camera Raw 6.1, I saw the following message:

PSRunningError.jpg

Of course, even if I had closed the Photoshop application I started the update since there was a Photoshop.exe * 32 running.  Kill that process gave successes with the update, but as I've read several accounts where people have said they have seen the error above as well, I wonder if there is a systemic problem with PS CS5.

I have Photoshop CS5 on Ultimate Windows 7 x 64.  My system is stable if not, cleaning of malware and well maintained.

I realize of the environment Windows is one in which anything can happen and believe me, I'm going to check the health of my system in any way that I can, but as I have carefully to maintain this system, I ask that you please don't neglect this problem as only once on my computer in particular because of specific I have something that is wrong.

Those of you running a x 64 OS, please start your task manager, processes tab.  You see Photoshop.exe more than one (or a Photoshop.exe process when you are not using it).

Hmm.  Without reproducible case to consider, I don't know what we can do.

The only way I would get no information about them is with a debugger or profiler and debugging symbols (but you do not have debugging symbols).

My best guess is still that this is related to the Service Manager permissions problems that cause the app to crash or hang to quit.

    * Original title: svchost.exe bleeding memory of multiple processes

I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit Service Pack 1 on decent office equipment.  Intel i7 - 2600 k, 16 GB of memory Corsair, 2 TB HD.  Recently, I noticed that sometimes the Web pages would much to slow while my 5.0 GHz network turned to 15.0 Mbs.  Also online MechWarrior gave me games much more than before lag to the point where I wouldn't be able to play.  This began about five to seven days from 29/09/14 and was regularly do worse.

So I took a look at my resource monitor and the Task Manager and discovered fifteen process svchost.exe running and a svchost.exe * 32 running.  They were dispersed users (System, Local Service, Network Service), and we were shooting at 150 000 + K.  Sometimes there would be two consuming the same amount of memory, but I have yet to see more on the list do so.

I'm certainly not an expert, but I take care of my computer.  My network is password protected, I ran a complete virus scan of the system that was detected (and if it is dangerous, I'm not at all more risky than Facebook sites on my PC.  I am saying that it is highly unlikely that I have no virus.)  I also checked the forums for others who have had the same problem and there were few.

The only change I made is my network hardware, upgrade my modem and router/switch.  My router is a dual band and my computer is the only one on the frequency 5.0 but check on my computers to families that run on the 2.4, they have what seems like unusually high memory usage svchost.exe as well.  I went back two restore points, but that made no difference.

Syschk control function run as administrator has not resolved the issue as well.  So what else am I missing?

  • Photoshop CC 2014 will not start, but I see Photoshop.exe running in the Task Manager!

I've just updated Photoshop CC 2014 today - October 6, 2014, and it does not start. I don't give warnings or errors. Windows 7 Pro. If I check the Windows Task Manager, I see Photoshop.exe running, but it never open on my desk.

Just for anyone who believes he knows the sequence of events:

    1. I've updated Photoshop CC 2014 and many other updates CC today
    2. I rebooted my machine (Windows 7 Pro)
    3. Icon clicked on start Photoshop
    4. Photoshop is not started, but Photoshop.exe appears in Windows Task Manager (RTM) tab process (about 8 MB of memory used)
    5. If I click on Photoshop icon to start several times, many EXEs appear in WTM
    6. Tried right click on Photoshop.exe (s) and ending the process, and then run Photoshop (same result) again
    7. Rebooted my machine a second time
    8. 2014 CC Photoshop works now

I'll add an update here, if things change.

    Thanks for the help everyone!

  • Several processes that are running on the standard user account because it runs slow and internet does not "."

Create a user profile for children on PC 32-bit W7 with MS Family Safety.

Recently they have complained he "runs slow and internet does not work.

After playing for a little, I realized a ton of processes were running in the background. I couldn't run msconfig to their profile (not administrator) and after some research, I even if the profile has been corrupted.

I created a new profile, but now the same thing is happening a few days later.

See below; multiple copies of the same process are running. This happens within 2 m after the log-in and I only started one program.

I started in safe mode with network and ran Windows defender, Spybot S & D and my virus scanner (all full scans) and turned up nothing malicious.  A few cookies tracking in the web cache, but nothing out of the ordinary.  I searched for the files wlaacmgr.exe and dplaysvr.exe (b/c they do not appear running in my admin profile) but they were found only in windows OS directories.  I understand that they are files of W7 but some maleware recreates.

Many of them are the same files taking up process on the old profile that I deleted.

Any help or suggestion as to why I have multiple copies of large processes running on the machine?  As I wrote it, I sign in, seems to be fine for one but 2 minutes a lot of process appear repeatedly and slows down the computer to a crawl.

These two files listed are not at all on my admin profile and the machine works fine in my admin profile.  Even with open Photoshop, the CPU is only about 50% under my profile.

Try to check/change the entries in startup with Autoruns from Sysinternals, which should work on the limited account to see its startup items.

  • Photoshop.exe has disappeared from my computer

Windows 10 Pro, Surface Pro 3. I have a full licensed version (perpetual) of PSCS6 + various plug-ins, etc.

Every 3 months, I start PS CS6 and I get some sort of opinion on "Your trial version" (is about to expire, etc.). I think the last time that happened, cat was always available and has been very helpful. In my view, that a registry key has been involved... Obviously, Adobe surreptitiously change from time to time some configuration settings, so when the PS is launched, it behaves like a trial version. I guess it's an effort to move the user to a perpetual a CC license. It is a tactical cheese and unethical IMHO.

I launched the PS today and there is a new problem. The PS shortcut launches connect to CC. The dialog box has the legend "Photoshop CS6 extended." There is a paragraph entitled "terms and conditions for the evaluation version. It is a new problem.

I checked the target of the shortcut of PS. It's "" C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6 (64 Bit) \Photoshop.exe"" but there is no "Photoshop.exe" anywhere on my C drive, according to a research from Windows Explorer. Of course within 2 days since I finally used PS, the executable literally was removed from my machine. The one who deleted the executable file of course set the computer to open the CC dialog box...

So my first question is how to get back my original licensed executable and correctly configured plugins, brushes, actions, etc.

My second question is how can I get insurance from Adobe which will not get dirty with the executable file under license again?

    Thank you very much.

    reinstall your ps cs6.

  • InDesign cs5 and photoshop cs5 preferences installed as one.

I have Indesign cs5 and adobe photoshop cs5 extended installed in my copmputer. I see these two programs as the most important applications installed in my computer. I'm just wondering that perhaps some of the Indesign cs5 and photoshop cs5 preferences are the same. I think that these files are the reason why both applications are very large.

For example the Adobe Bridge cs5, I think that Adobe Bridge is installed twice in my computer. One and the installation of Indesign from Photoshop.

I just want to know if there is a way to install both applications have their preferences, installed once and both applications could use them. I think only in this way that I can put a free space in my hard drive. Any help would be appreciated.

You can not save space on your hard drive by combining portions of these programs don't.

Their "preferences" occupy a very small fraction of the space used by these programs.

In addition, they already have a wide range of common (shared) files that are used by the two programs that are installed outside the directories of the program for each program.

    On Windows, this is C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe. For Mac, / Library/Application Support/Adobe.

    But none.

Besides, hard drives are incredibly cheap. If you are worried about the size of these programs, you're doing something wrong and you won't be able to use them effectively in any case. In particular, the effective use of photoshop needs many times plus size program in free space.

It's probably time to go out and buy several hundred GB (or some TOS) space.

  • Can I install the trial version of photoshop, on several computers in the same classroom, sharing the same IP address?

Can I install the trial version of photoshop, on several computers in the same classroom, sharing the same IP address?

As far as I know, Cloud programs are related to the identification of the user, so 'you' can only install on 2 computers and both can not be used at the same time

Then, each computer must have the trial installed by a different person (different Adobe ID) to have all the computers used at the same time

Cloud license allows 2 activations http://www.adobe.com/legal/licenses-terms.html

    -Install on a 2nd computer http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1452292?tstart=0

-Windows or Mac has no importance... 2 on the same operating system or 1 on each

-Two activations on one account CAN NOT be used at the same time (to be noted in the link above of the license)

-An individual account is for one person and may not be shared with anyone else

  • Adobe Photoshop CC 2015 crashes at startup (Photoshop.exe)

After update today with CC 2015, I get the above message whenever I try to launch Photoshop.  I tried a number of suggestions, but nothing seems to work.  I also called support and they told me they would call me back within 30 minutes.  That's more than an hour there.  I just tried to call back, and no one answered.  The website says they are open until 19: 00 PST, which is still an hour away.  Support sorry and an unresolved issue.  It seems that Adobe is looking for ways to make their customers to leave.

Anyway, does anyone have a solution to this problem of Photoshop?
