PS text layer converts bitmap on open/import into Fireworks.

I can't import PS text layers in Fireworks. They still get converted into bitmap images.

I entered the import/open Photoshop preferences and selected text: editable text. Fireworks seems to ignore this parameter. I tried with a variety of fonts. I use straight text layers, no text on a path, without effects, etc. of kerning by default.

I'm with CS4 Design Premium running Windows XP pro.

Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong and how to fix it please?

Thank you

I've tried the settings as shown in the following dialog box and you can change the text after opening in Fireworks CS4.

    Hey everybody,

    It is in fact generated out of my previous post on the Kodak zi8 files.

    We have established that PrPro 1.5 will not import the MOV files native to a Kodak zi8, which are of the 264 encoded MOV files.

    What I need is some advice on an inexpensive way to convert MOV something 264 which PrPro 1.5 will recognize, I hope to a pretty decent quality.

    Here's a quick script that can do. It assumes that there is a text file on your desktop named "name list.txt" it also assumes that the text using a return between names file, this can be changed to commas or anything else you want to use. You must also have an open file to make it work. It does not define the font or the font size, but you can put in the script or select all layers later and change it at once.

    #target photoshop
    var doc = activeDocument
    var textFile = new File(Folder.desktop+ '/name list.txt');
    var list = readText (textFile).split('\n');

    Using hiking CS5 Extended and Windows 7 Home Premium. I try to convert a text layer to a shape, and I tells me it can not, because I have a fake "BOLD" style. Well, I don't put it in bold. I tried with Tahoma and Ariel. I tried no, sharp, crisp, strong and sweet. I checked the other posts here on false type probs, but no help.

    Hello, I have corrected the title.

    The option "BOLD" false figure at the bottom of the character Panel.

    The text tool is active, double-click the thumbnail of the text layer, and then press CTRL + T, it will pop up in the character, the fake "BOLD" Panel is the first button in the row of icons at the bottom of the Panel.

    You can also go to the window > character to open it or click the button on the options bar.

  • Photoshop text is not importing into Illustrator

    I have two files, exactly the same way both created in Photoshop.

    The first file I can open in Illustrator CS6, and all text is editable and still intact.

    The second file flattens always, regardless of what options choose in Photoshop or Illustrator.

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you

    Text layers have any effects or transparency.  Some of the Photoshop raster layers have masks, transparency, layer effects, etc.

    It's resolved, but I still want to understand why.

    I crossed the Photoshop file and removed a layer at a time, saved the PSD, then open in Illustrator.

    Finally, it came down to the text layer.  With the layer, everything came in flattened Illustrator.  Without the layer, everything worked fine.

    I went back to my original file and converted the messed up the text layer to a smart object and everything works as advertised today.

    VERY strange.

    Thank you for taking the time to examine it.

  • PSD - text not treated as vector files import

    I need to import text from a PSD to another Publisher in AE, but it is appearing in the text of the image and do not let me select continuous rasterization of the layer. How can I do?

  • I use an iMac with El Capitan and Photoshop CS6. I'm trying to add a shadow to a text on a picture. I followed the instructions to double the text layer but not dropshadow dialog box appears and I can't. Where would it be?

    Double click on the text on the right side of the display panel does not cause a dialog box open. I just need to know where the dialog box is so I can add the drop shadow

    Please make sure that you double-click on the text layer in the layer panel not the name of the layer. With the text, it can be difficult if the name is too long. You can also right-click on the text layer in the Panel and bring up the contextual menu and select 'blending Options '.

  • Layer styles Photoshop 2015 not appearing is not in CS6 on a pixelated text layer

    It made by a mistake of text at the beginning when I open it. But if the layer is rasterized should elsewhere?

    Thanks in advance

    If it's a layer style and your text has a fill (all-solid), you can put the text layer in a group. Add your new layer for the group style. Add the desired above the Group fill color and hang it on the group.

    If the text has been rasterized, you can just lock the transparency of the layer and then fill the entire layer with any color you want also, then add a new layer style.

    These two things will work with CS6.

  • worksheet for text layer script?

    Does anyone know of a script that will create a new photoshop file, copy a line of text, spreadsheet, csv or text delimited an another doc, paste in a text layer, save and close, going on to the next line of text and repeat until the end?

    Excuse my bad English. You create in the folder where your script is a text file in which there are 4 lines. For example:

    Line 1

    Line 2

    Line 3

    Line 4

    The following script reads each line, creates a new doc, add a text layer above the background, written inside the content of the line and saves the document (psd format) in the folder where the script.

    MAC Finder or WINDOWS Explorer

    #target photoshop

    app.bringToFront ();

    var fileTextName = currentPath + "lines.txt";

    var = read_file File (fileTextName);

    var line = "";

    var artLayerRef ="";

    var psd_Options ="";

    var newFile ="";

    Opens the text file lines.txt that exist in the scripts folder

    read_file. Open ('r');

    while(!read_file.) EOF)

    {

    Line = read_file. Readln();

    Create a new Photoshop document

    App.Documents.Add ();

    newFile = app.activeDocument;

    Creates a new layer of text art

    artLayerRef = newFile.artLayers.add ();

    artLayerRef.kind = LayerKind.TEXT;

    artLayerRef.textItem.contents = line;

    Saves the PSD options

    psd_Options = new PhotoshopSaveOptions(); [PhotoshopSaveOptions]

    psd_Options.layers = true; retains the layers

    psd_Options.embedColorProfile = true; Profile of canned

    psd_Options.annotations = true; preserves the notes

    psd_Options.alphaChannels = true; preserve alpha channels

    psd_Options.spotColors = true; preserves the inks

    Save the new document

    newFile.saveAs (file (currentPath + ' /' + line + ".psd"), psd_Options, true);

    How do I reselect the type to change.  I have a text template that I want to, but when I try to select it with the text tool always creates a new text layer.  How to change the type of the layer in my registered design?

    OK, Bob. This give a try.

    First, open a new file and make sure the background is white, not on Transparent that I suspect you have currently defined.

    Then, type your copy. Your layers panel will then look like the top of this picture...:

    and when you drag the text on the image layer, it will look like the lower part of the sample above.

    You can then position the text layer with the tool move

  • How to generate the barcode (barcode 3sur9 or one of its variations) in a single text layer?

    Is there a way to get the name of the fonts used in a computer (C:\windows\fonts), which can be used online from Javascript? I have the barcode fonts, but I don't know his name for Javascript to recognize.

    See the line on the myTextRef.font below:

    create a variable to the active document

    var docRef = activeDocument;

    Create a layer of text on the front

    var myLayerRef = docRef.artLayers.add ();

    myLayerRef.kind = LayerKind.TEXT;

    myLayerRef.name = "Filename";

    It is a layer of real text describing it as a text element

    var myTextRef = myLayerRef.textItem;

    Size of the font set to Points

    myTextRef.size = 24;

    A text or numbers to convert a code bar?

    myTextRef.font = "Arial";

    Text color to RGB values

    newColor var = new SolidColor();

    newColor.rgb.red = 255;

    newColor.rgb.green = 255;

    newColor.rgb.blue = 0;

    myTextRef.color = newColor;

    Adjust the position of the text - percentages of left first, then the top.

    myTextRef.position = new Array (50, 50);

    myTextRef.justification = Justification.CENTER

    So "BOLD" fonts

    myTextRef.style = "BOLD";

    Set the blending Mode of the text layer. The name must be in UPPERCASE - IE NORMAL change to the DIFFERENCE.

    myLayerRef.blendMode = BlendMode.NORMAL;

    Select opacity in percent

    myLayerRef.opacity = 100;

    The use of javascript, app.fonts you will get an array of objects textFont. There will be an object textFont for each font that Photoshop can use. Each object has several properties. To use with a text layer, as the postScriptName property.

    var fontList = [];

    var font = app.fonts;

    for (var i = 0; i)< fonts.length;="" i++)="">

    fontList.push (fonts, [i], .postScriptName);

  • Editing existing text layer...

    Hello

    I am running CS4 on Vista 64-bit and a PS script in Javascript programming...

    I struggle to change an existing layer in a file .psd I open.

    The script is quite simple:

    1. open the .psd file

    2 change the alignment of the content, size, font of the EXISTING text layer

    -> Note: this text EXISTING layer has an applied existing LAYER STYLE

    3. close the file

    Everything works well except the part 2. The reason why I change this EXISTING text layer is, b/c it is already exactly positioned where it should do and the desired layer style is already applied...

    Here is what I tried:

    I. I thought given that the layer is already a LAYER of TEXT it is not necessary to set the TEXT properties once again - I used this code:

    textLayer var docRef.layers = ['text layer ']; define the text existing in a VAR layer
    docRef.activeLayer = textLayer;

    textLayer.font = "regular"; _Aviano
    textLayer.size = 36;
    textLayer.style = "Regular";
    textLayer.antiAliasMethod = AntiAlias.SHARP;
    textLayer.contents = "test change."

    -> Problem: the script runs without error, but the changes are NOT applied.

    II. I defined the existing text layer to be a LAYER of TEXT - I used this code:

    textLayer var docRef.layers = ['text layer ']; define the text existing in a VAR layer
    docRef.activeLayer = textLayer;
    textLayer.kind = LayerKind.TEXT;
    var T1 = textLayer.textItem;
    T1.font = "regular"; _Aviano
    T1. Size = 36;
    T1.style = "Regular";
    T1.antiAliasMethod = AntiAlias.SHARP;
    T1.contents = "test change."

    -> Problem: this concerns the changes, BUT the actual text font size applied is 120 (!) - I have to multiply by 0.3 to actually get to 36 and this does not work all the time... very, very strange... I guess it has to do with the fact that redefine us a layer of EXISTING text as a text element...

    III. I have of course...:

    1. create a NEW text layer
    2. apply all my properties

    3. then place it at the exact location where the EXISTING text layer

    Problem: creation and styles (properties) work fine, BUT when I get the coordinates through .bounds and when I apply the [0] and [1] values it does NOT match the position (too high)... applying the [0] and [3] values does NOT either (too low) mtach... I have to split the difference between these two?

    Thanks for your help in advance!

    M

    The reason text has not changed in your first example is that you set the font, size, etc to the layer not the textItem prperties. You fixed that in the example following you.

    When you work with pixels, you must assign the baseUnit if the doc is not 72 dpi. Something like that

    UnitValue.baseUnit = UnitValue ((1/docRef.resolution),'in');// the default value is 1/72
    textLayer var docRef.layers = ['text layer ']; define the text existing in a VAR layer
    docRef.activeLayer = textLayer;
    var T1 = textLayer.textItem;
    T1.font = "regular"; _Aviano
    T1. Size = UnitValue (36, 'px');
    T1.style = "Regular";
    T1.antiAliasMethod = AntiAlias.SHARP;
    T1.contents = "test change."

    The size is now 36 pixels. If you do not want to change the baseUnit you can change the resolution as proposed by Xbytor.

    Also if you want to match the position of a text layer, use the property textItem.position instead of the boundaries of the layer.

    Hello

    What operating system do you use?

    You can use the paint on windows feature to add text on the pictures.

  • How to clear the text drafted the Bitmap by graphics.drawtext (...) (try to do a count down on top of the Bitmap)

    Hello, I'm doing a count down on top a Bitmap image. I use graphics.draw (),
    However, this ended up writing the text on text, no matter what I do.
    Example: when the second = 3, the image will be 3 shot
    When the second = 2, the image will be 2 on top 3 drawn on it (in this case 3 does not appear)
    When the second = 1, the image will be 1 of 2 on top 3 drawn on it (in which case 2.3 does not appear)

    Can anyone help please, thanks in advance... Here is the code:

    Timer each who calls every second {...
    {Synchronized (UiApplication.getEventLock ())}
    Bitmap temp = BitmapOriginal;
    Graphics g = Graphics.create (temp);

    Font myFont = Font.getDefault ().derive(Font.BOLD,13);

    StartcountDown.setFont (StartcountDown.getFont () .derive (Font.BOLD, 15, Ui.UNITS_pt));

    int xOffset = (int) ((BitmapOriginal.getWidth () / 2)-(Font.getDefault().getAdvance(Integer.toString(startCountDown))/2)); (temp.getWidth () - Font.getDefault () .getAdvance (Integer.toString (startCountDown)));
    int decalage_y = (int) ((BitmapOriginal.getHeight () / 2)-(Font.getDefault().getHeight()/2)); (temp.getHeight () - Font.getDefault () .getHeight ());

    g.setColor (Color.WHITE);
    g.setFont (myFont);

    g.Clear ();

    g.drawBitmap (0, 0, BitmapOriginal.getWidth (), BitmapOriginal.getHeight (), BitmapOriginal, 0, 0);
    g.drawText (Integer.toString (startCountDown), x_offset, decalage_y);

    PicAndText.setBitmap (temp);
    }
    ... }

    You can't disable text written on Bitmap. However, you don't have to write the text on the original. This:

    Bitmap temp = BitmapOriginal;

    won't. You copy not the original - you get a reference to it.

    Something like that

    Bitmap temp = new Bitmap(BitmapOriginal.getWidth(), BitmapOriginal.getHeight());
    Graphics g = Graphics.create(temp);
    g.drawBitmap(0, 0, temp.getWidth(), temp.getHeight(), BitmapOriginal, 0, 0);

    copies BitmapOriginal in temp, leaving intact and ready for the next use. The trick is to create a new bitmap every time to handle.
