PSE9 Organizer Backup

I can't save my catalogue of PSE9.  I'm doing a full catalog backup but when the program displays the "Calculation Total Media Size" dialog box the program seems to stop at this time here.  I let the program run for an hour or more without change.  I checked Task Manager and it shows PSE9 as running, but there is no CPU activity.  I am running Win 7 64 bit with 4 GB of memory.  So far I can say that everything is OK with the program (at least what I've used so far), but I really want to get my backup catalogue.  Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated and I thank you in advance.

John

Alright Don,
Let me put it this way... Here are the steps that must be followed in order.
Step 3 says to reproduce the problem, if not you can try the new user account, really new user account is trying to eliminate the problem of permissions on the computer. And as you said is correct, the resettlement will not delete keywords and tags. I did it several times. After all, it seems to be a performance problem

John, this is for you - by increasing performance for the editor will also be organizing effect, that this option only lies inside the editor not organizing.

1 - Reset the host from--Start--run--%appdata%--Adobe--Elements preferences - 9.0 - move Organizer folder on the desktop.
also move folder services online at from--Start--run--%appdata%--Adobe--Online Desktop Services
2 - Try to start the editor and goto - menu - editing Preferences - performance (85% performance increase)
3 try to reproduce the problem.
4. create a new user account (admin) and he check it out, make sure you read and write the disk permissions.
5 - If the problem persists, uninstall and reinstall the software.

Otherwise, try two no more.
1 - Launch the software as an administrator
2. try to create a new test catalog, some images in there and try to analyze the backup problem

Kind regards
Ashish

Most of the time, when a backup freeze at a certain percentage, it is due to a 'problem' file, usually a video. I also met the problem with file format is no longer supported, as jpeg2000. I assume you are using 13 items.

I would overlap with your catalog for the following tests. Find the catalog folder (menu help/information system) and copy the entire folder elsewhere. To open the organizer with the duplicate catalog, double-click the database file: catalog.pse13db.

First test of backup without the video files.

  • PSE9 Organizer is compatible with PSE6 bridge?

I just bought PSE9 for updating my PSE6. When I install PSE9, will be the files in transfer PSE6 organizing PSE9 bridge or I will lose?

    Thank you, Steve

No file is 'in' bridge. The bridge is simply a file browser: it shows you the current status of any folder you point to. If you mean that you will lose your keywords in metadata, no those who are written in the files themselves, so no worries there. You will lose any batteries, however. You can continue to use the bridge of PSE 6 PSE 9 If you like not Organizer, too. Not just a button to post-secondary studies to launch.

If you want to remove PSE 6, maybe it's better to do that first before you install the PES 9, given the way the installer for PSE 6 is written, it removes some shared files, so if you decide to delete it later, you will need to reinstall PSE 9 later (this will not affect your pictures somehow However).

  • Organization, backup and external storage

Over the past years, as my projects has increased in the size of the file, I just bought larger external drives. But now I'm filling 1 TB disks (1 main, 1 redundant).

I guess I'm really just at a loss for the best ways to organize projects and customers so that when I fill out these readers (especially full now), I can retire and start filling another drive. And also how do I stay organized, know that the files are where, as I have to add another HDD 2 keep redundant. Or really any suggestions on how carry out you your projects so that you are protected incase of customer coming back for another version of the project and reduced file size.

Where I work, we have a network drive where we archive old projects and a connected disc matrix locally where we do the same thing. When the project is old enough, a copy is moved to two locations it is verified in the two tasks and then the project gets deleted out of the production of machines/readers. When a disc in the connected local table is full, it gets pulled and moved to secure storage.

  • Import of PSE9 Win to PSE9 Mac backup

    Hello

I was just having fun with my new Mac when I tried to import backup edition of Windows 9.0 PSE.

Version Mac said that "there is no correct backup hard disk!

The backup was made a few minutes before with version 9.0 of PSE.

The catalogs of the victory and the Mac version are not completely compatible?

All pictures are on an external hard drive. The PSE catalog is on the computer - but where? I tried to copy the catalog file only. But I have not found it. A does anyone know where to find the catalog file in Win Vista only?

Now, how could I bring my catalog based on Win or the backup of the version of PSE - Win for my new Mac?

    Thanks for your help!

They are compatible, but there is a witch hunt. You must find the .tly, not the whole file and point to restore.

EDIT try not to move the catalog separately. It does not work.

  • Elements Organizer 9 won't open

I hope someone can help as it appears that Adobe will not.  I have two items 8 and 9.  I bought 9 as a result of a special user 8.  I downloaded it online in July.  Since the beginning I couldn't open the Organizer 9.  Whenever I have it try appears a box that says it is 'restore data recognition people... ". "He gets 22% full and stops working and the only thing I can do, it's always close who Organizer stops.  I have been busy at other issues since and just pulled a way easy and used 8.  Recently, I started to edit in 9 but Organizer 8 cannot recognize my registered editing.  Given that I can't open 9 Organizer I can't do the things I want.  I can't find anything on this topic anywhere on the Adobe web site and chatting with them reveals that it is the only way I can get help.  Does anyone know how can I do?

    1. Hold down your Ctrl + Shift keys at the launch of the PSE9 Organizer.
    2. The Catalog Manager window opens.
    3. Create a new catalog.
    4. Open the PSE9 Organizer.  It will use the newly created, empty catalog, and you can use Edit... Preferences... Media analysis to disable all scanning options.
    5. Use the file... Catalog to open the Catalog Manager and select your old catalog.

  • PSE Backup-problem

Now use ich das as Acronis Backup.

(Course 1 + 2 synchron gesichert immer).

Nein, grundsaetzlich gibt're gegen your method keine Einwaende.  Sie ist in vielen (not) been angewendet worden Faellen.  Es werden immer wieder Schwierigkeiten mit Organizer backups, especially inkrementellen berichtet.  Das von Ihnen erwaehnte problem beim restoration (Ordnerstruktur) should however non appearance oder loesbar breast, aber das ist eine andere question.

Meine Empfehlung ist however, dass Sie das Kommando ' > file > write keywords and property information to durchfuehren (und news zu schreiben Stichwort-Tags Fotos Akbulak) of the Photos.  Fuer alle Faelle.

    Jürgen

P.S. Hinzuzufuegen ist however noch, dass Gewisse Kreation, wie z.B. albums, dear verloren go koennen.

  • RMAN double storage issue

I'm analyzing my organization backup and recovery architecture. We had been using an NFS share for all FRAs in our database. After a storage upgrade, I've reconfigured the majority of our databases to use a local ASM disk group. The acceleration, we met has been remarkable. If you're curious, we went to EMC (Clariion CX) gear to the new Dell Compellent. The compellent gear is smooth. in any case...

Freshen up a few databases of our prod to our cluster of dev-based attend. These systems always use NFS to their FRAs. I want to configure these databases to use their premises ASM + FRA diskgroup but do not know how the process duplicate access safeguards.

    I read the following:

    http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E11882_01/backup.112/e10642/rcmdupdb.htm

And understand that "the destination host must have access to RMAN backups required to create the duplicate database". It's that, or use replication of database Active. Please correct me if I missed to get this concept straight in my head.

    So my question for you:

How would be better on the design of this process because I want to spend the FRA location for my source database in a local ASM diskgroup because the duplicate database and auxiliary instance will live a completely different crowd with its own exclusive disk groups?

Multiplex my backups and archiving of newspapers to a NFS share?

connect from the database to THE and do the double. In the settings files, you can supply parameters db_file_name_convert and log_file_name_convert for something like this

    db_file_name_convert = ('+ your_ASM_FRA_location', 'new_location_in_the_AUX_server')

    This link can also help.

  • Transfer of records and albums of PES 11 to 13 of PES

How can I transfer records and albums of PES 11 toy PSE 13 on a Mac.  I asked this question three times now and have not had a response.  I'm not very wise computer a simple explanation would be appreciated.

You run the PES 13 on the same mac as PES 11? When you first open the Organizer it should find your PES 11 catalog and offer to convert. If it doesn't, go to file > manage catalogues, choose your old catalog and click on convert.

If it is a new computer, make a full backup of your catalog of PES 11 using the Organizer backup command and then restore on PSE 13 on the new computer.

  • Can I install Workstation 8 with my VM on V:?

For the sake of convenience and ease of organization/backup, I have all my VMs 7 Workstation stored on their own partition, V: (which has some mnemonic utility).  Each VM live, of course, in its own folder in the root of the v:, for example, there is a folder named "Windows 98", "Windows XP Professional", or even "Windows 7 x 64". "

I just upgraded to 8 work stations.  During the installation, he asked where my VMs, and I said 'V: '.  I got an "error message", saying he could not install to the root of a drive.  Of course, real VMs are not on the root of V:, they are records that lie at the root of the V:.

A "Workaround", of course, would be to add a 'sex' by creating a folder called "VMs" on the root of V:, move all my current records on V: in this folder and then specify the installation routine to use 'V:\VMs '.  Is there a reason, in the station of work 8, which is no longer possible to store on the root of a drive of virtual machines, but must be nested inside the files?  Note that this puts the real. VMxx files two levels below the root, for example Windows 98 VM files would be in V:\VMs\Windows 98\Windows 98.vmx.  It would be nice not to have to "dive" down an additional directory just to find my virtual machines, but to be able to go straight to the V: see (or at least the files holding them, which, among other things, allows me to see their names...).

This way reference you here is used only for 'shared virtual machines.
Regular VMs can be stored in the root of a disk so that you have V:\win98\win98.vmx.

This limitation applies only to the special directory used by the service pass who manages the shared virtual machines
