PSU greater in a h8 hp 1020?

Hi... I can improve the power supply in a HP H8 1020 to 500 or 600 watts? all standard power supply ATX will work? Is there a part number HP for a power supply HP that I could order too?

Wind-rider, welcome to the forum.

Yes, any standard ATX power supply unit (PSU) must fit into the housing.  I suggest to measure the PSU existing and comparing measures to whichever you choose.  I like Corsair and OCZ.  Here's manufacturer that make good, reasonable price, products.  They also have very good Technical Support.

  • HP Envy 700-470na: 600W PSU and GTX 970 for HP ENVY 700-470NA

    Hello

I am looking to buy the GTX to my HP Envy 700-470NA 970. I also need a 600w PSU to use my current power supply (500w) would be risky.

My question is, I'll be able to replace the power supply on my desktop with the 600w Corsair? Well, just reliable and good quality PSU with 600W which can be compatible with my PC would be great.

Please provide a link to the PSU if possible. Thank you!

You are welcome.  Thank you for the additional information.

Yes, the cables should function properly.  Cards mothers HP have the ATX 24 power connector standard pins.  You could buy a modular power supply.  In this way, that you don't have to use all the cables that are not necessary.  This makes more space for good air circulation.

  • Why is - my music and Sound distorted on my h8-1020?

    Hello

I noticed several times during internet browsing or listening on itunes, the music will momentarily be distorted.  If I watch a movie on my PC, the strain will also hit not synchronized sound with video.  It can get really annoying.  Also, during the game Battlefield 3, distortion will occur from time to time and make the game stutter for a while and continue as usual.  Any ideas why this happens?

I'm running on a Pavilion h8-1020 HPE intel Core i7 - 2600 S and an EVGA GeForce GTX 560 graphics card upgrade.  Nothing is Overclocked and that the system works McAfee Total Protection and Iolo System mechanic as the only programs running with the problems mentioned above.  Also, I was getting distortion before even the video card upgrade.

I get no error message, but it's really starting to get annoying. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Can I put the Pavilion Slimline 180 Watt power supply to a 300 Watt PSU

    Of course, you can!

Here is an informational videoabout the possibilities of upgrading your slimline WHAT PSU found on YouTube.  A comparison of three power supplies, including the owner HP PSU and a (two video and CPU) stress test and comparison of noise is shown during the video.

Be aware that some, but not all, of the PSU, upgrades require a simple and light your PSU slimline support change. Change depends on the power supply model chosen for the upgrade.

Purchase an adaptor molex as HP UPE is necessary for the Slimlines using a power supply with the format owners microfit ATX 24 pin, as well as the standard for the HTPC power supply ATX 20 pin format.

Upgrade your power supply at a higher power will not damage your motherboard. A power supply will provide only so much power that is required of him by the mother and peripheral card up to the nominal power of the installed PSU.

It is for those who wondered how to work around the limitation of the low power 180 Watt power supply that most Pavilion Slimline PCs come with the Assembly. With a power SUPPLY improved, more memory and a graphics card discrete, including support (it is a requirement) your Slimline can be your gaming PC.

Selecting a graphics card is another topic. Not all graphics cards can hold in the case of a slimline. It takes a low profile video card. They are available for purchase online.

  • HP Elite HPE - 580T: PSU Update / replacement for HP OEM

You are looking to upgrade the 550W power 460W PSU OEM and have had no luck in finding a power supply that works with the card MOTHER IPMTB-TK (Truckee). It seems that newer power supplies feed the correct required ATX12V Pegatron MOBO. You want to know if there is a recommended after market PSU that will work with this MOBO.

    System Specs:

    HP Pavilion Elite HPE - 580 t; Intel X 58 Express; meomry 24 GB of RAM; Core i7-950 3.0 GHZ; 2 x 1 TB RAID 0; GTX 460; Integrated 7.1 sound

Please let me know if an upgrade is possible and if recommended PSU

Update: found a PSU that will replace the current OEM PSU (Antec BP550 Plus).

PSU OEM specifications required 3 rails of + 12V in order to work and the Antec BP550 Plus corresponding to the criteria of tension with greater rail intensity to meet the requirement of 550W.

Thank you very much for the help.

What I really would like to, it is MI CoolMaster V850 because will change from the GPU and everything to come. The EVGA NVIDIA GTX 750ti should work without modification of the power supply.  Save you money and keep the HP 600 watt PSU.

After I restarted my computer about 7 times it finally started, so for me to be able to write this message.  However, this problem occurred several times over the last week or two. I get a blue screen, then the computer goes into a splash screen and I get the above error.  Of course, I'm 2 months past my warranty period, so I'm here, GROUND.

Is my hard drive on its way? Is there a possible difficulty for this seizure completely breaks down?  Information to help save my machine would be great and much appreciated.  Thank you!

    Hello:

In my view, there is nothing you can do to repair the drive except to replace it.

You can run the checkdisk utility and check both boxes.

IM pretty sure Im good with these but I need an expert opinion before you spend $400, only to find that it won't work.

Any help and advice is greatly appreciated.

Yes, it seems that everything should play nice. The CX600 Corsair is known to fit the cases most, HP consumer computer office, of which your p6654y and it is strongly recommended. The AMD HDX850WFK42GM is a processor of Deneb TDP of 95 watts, so it should work on your computer. Geforce GTX660, while it is a little big, must match your computer... Make sure you just measure along the slot PCIe graphic for obstructions.

  • Thanks to RoyalSerpent for the excellent guide on the PSU.

I wanted to add a comment to the page with the guide on this subject, so I started this thread.  I agree that it should be a 'post-it '.

The PSU is the backbone of a computer and the more underrated and misunderstood of the components of the computer, it is good to have this guide.  He save people will award money and painful decisions.  As an overclocer, I learned the value of a power supply of quality several years ago.  I learned from people like RS who were considered experts in the field.  As most average users, I, did not understand how the PSU is important to the overall operation of a computer.  Now, we have a guide to help us determine what we require for the performance of these new CPU and graphics cards.

Thank you, SR.  It is a great gesture!

I have a big smile when I see the other users of the forum pumping PSU $ 100 to run a GPU of intermediate quality.  These experts are probably pour gasoline into the tank when the quality recommended regular unleaded gasoline.  Manufacturers of prey on the ignorance of people to make more of $ whereas they could pay CEO + $4 M a year salary.

Do you think PC vendors would pile more than 4 GB of RAM in the Board of Directors if the memory was expensive?  Same memory-hog VISTA won't shoot no more than 2 GB of physical memory under normal conditions of use.  Too much RAM unused waste electricity.  It takes also a few seconds to start the PC.

In regards to the sticky... don't hold your breath.  This isn't the old HP where engineerig prowless is working #1!

    Hello

The text of presentation of NVIDIA/AMD on the system and the requirements of the PSU is below. The video card will fit. There is a link in the following text indicating the specifications on power supply recommended AMD.

"PCI Express® based PC is required with a X 16 channel available on the motherboard graphics slot
500 watt or greater power supply with two 75W power connectors 6-pin PCI Express® recommended (600 Watt and four connectors 6-pin for AMD CrossFireX™ technology in dual mode)
Certified power supplies are recommended.  See http://ati.amd.com/certifiedPSU for a list of certified products.

PSU: all Corsair 450W or an OCZ MOdXstream Pro 500-600W should be below the range of $100.00 (Newegg.com)
