• 9174 triggered output pulses and analog input synchronization

  Hello

  I have a cDAQ 9174 with a 9215 analog and a 9401 module. I wonder if this configuration is suitable for my use: a trigger digital extern is sent to the system to trigger a task of analog input, trigger a generation of pulses, with another counter, count of trigger events. Using two counters on 9401, it seems I have no left Terminal at the entrance of my trigger signal. The trigger DAQmx vi does not show counters entries in the list of signals; and if I select a PFI line, an error that says that the line is already in use..., I missed a few obvious solution? I have change my 9401 to a 9402 did?

  Hi Vincent,.

  So, looks like you need a single line to use as input to trigger events and another line to use for a generation of pulse output.  This should indeed be possible, since the 9401 has 8 lines that are configurable nibble (i.e. lines 0:3 could be configured as inputs, while the 4:7 lines could be taken out, or vice versa).

  However, a big caveat with the 9401 is that the lines must be reserved before each task is started.  This is a limitation of the direction of the line is implemented in hardware and is common as customers when something they using the 9401.  Explicitly reserving your tasks before starting must correct the behavior if that is indeed what you see.

• How to build square 3 ph pulses and use them to trigger the two analog inputs.

  Task:

  1) generate continuous 1 Hz ms 45 pulses on three lines of output offset 120 degrees.

  Other neighborhoods, three phases (three outputs) 120 degrees out, but instead of sine wave should be a volt 5ms 45 along with a second ground pulse. I need these impulses to control an external circuit. The tolerance of 1 Hz is loose, but 45 ms must be at 100 us.

  (2) measure (trigger) two independent DC voltage over 45 ms 50 ms after each front (leader) amount of each pulse. 45 to 50 ms must be 100 us.

  Other neighborhoods, begins each measure 45 ms for the DC source #1 and 50 ms for the source DC #2 after opening (rising edge) of each pulse for total of six measurements per second 1 (by 1 Hz cycle).

  Thanks for posting and welcome to the forums EITHER! I think we can get what you need with the variety of the 6221 37 pins:

  (1) our machines of the M series have 2 counters, so you cannot generate all the impulses of 3 of these alone. A solution would be to use outputs digital correlated.

  Unfortunately, the 37 pins 6221 has only two IO digital correlated, so you should use a strange mixture of digital meters and IO to implement three impulses. It would still be feasible - for example, you might use a counter for a time base for the digital i/o lines and the other counter to the third output pulse. You would have to match the beginning of the two counters to ensure the phase of your signals.

  2) there are essentially two parts to this question, so I'll try to split:

  (i) combine the three impulses together to generate a single sample signal out of. I think this would be doable on a different set of M with a higher number of digital I/o lines correlated using change detection (see the user manual of M series). However, at this stage, we are just out of digital lines correlated to use, and I don't think that's possible on the 37 pins 6221.

  If you use the 6221 37-pin, which you will probably need to do is to provide your own external circuits OR three pulses together.

  (II) get the 5 ms delay to enjoy your second channel. Since you have already discovered that you can sample the falling edge of the digital signal for the delay of 45 ms, you would just add another delay of 5 ms before taste you your second I. You should be able to do this by setting the clock to convert DAQmx frequency (5ms corresponds to 200 Hz). The clock to convert, it's what actually sampling data (keep in mind that the boards of the M series are multiplexed).

  To do this, simply use the property calendar DAQmx node, then select: more > converted > rate.

  (3) this one is easy - we have not yet used all channels of AO.

  So the 37 pins 6221 is a little less ideal because you have not enough correlated digital i/o to make the generation of pulses or change detection - but he has yet to do the job if you can combine the three impulses yourself outdoors and don't mind not using the additional counter to generate the third impulse.

  Your Board of the M series has only 2 meters - that's why you can not perform 3 tasks.  Here's to

  least another idea you might consider.

  Review the task where you want to count the edges of a particular signal increase.  You can probably

  make line in wiring up a digital port 0 and making a DI task based on "change detection".

  You can then simply keep track of how many samples have been taken that will give you the

  as much as the edges with a meter spot.

  I just noticed today (one of the first cold days of autumn). It makes me think that if you increase the heat in your home, you will make the sound go away (a solution).

  They should be able to simply rewrite the controller for that fan, I do not think they would do a update us who just got it rolls at a slightly higher speed.

  I'm writing a VI in labview 8.1 version to test the sensors. The power supply of the sensor is pulsed and I need to get a value when turned on the power of the sensor and the power of the sensor is turned OFF (measure Max voltage when the current flows through the circuit and voltage min when no current flows through). My cycle is like ON 2 seconds for 8 seconds.

  And I want to acquire a reading in each of those States permanently. I am able to use a pulse meter to make the pulse but how can I tie this with the recording of data, then you can be sure that I log into a data point in the State ONE and the other to the OFF state?

  Acquire the pulses of the meter on a different path to analog input.  When it is high your sensor is activated.

• FPGA to generate the counter and pulse train

  I have some experience with Quartus, but new on the FPGA OR.

  I have a PCI-7811R. I'm trying to use it to illuminate sequentially 144 LEDs repeatedly. The duration of each pulse is 480us.

  Basically, I need to generate a pulse and generator of a counter to record the number of pulses and, according to this number, select which light is lit.

  I designed a pulse generator train based on an example of using FPGAS and added a counter in it. You can see in the attached vi.

  My question is,

  When I put the I/O node inside loops call single cycle, it can generate the correct pulse.  However, when I tried to use the local variable to transfer data from the SCTL and then plug it on another node of I/O, I can't detect the pulse signal when I measured this I/O.

  Is there something wrong with my code when I try to transfer the data of the SCTL? Can I also use local variable to transfer the value of counter, because I will need it in the next part.

  If you are referring to the wired local variable to DIO2 in your attached VI, the problem is very simple: it is outside a loop, then it executes only once.  Put this local variable and the node of IO in a loop and I think you'll get something close to the impulse you expect (although if it is not in a loop of single cycle you will have exactly the same calendar).

  My father's been using Windows XP Outlook Express. There, several e-mail addresses which all the download in the same Inbox, and then it moves into a whole bunch of files named he created. Currently everything is pop3.

  Can that be set up in Thunderbird? How do we? You can then choose to download an address at a time? On a Mac Pro.

  I see how to configure the identities, then you can choose between them when sending. Which solves the outgoing needs there.

  Once resolved, next question is whether you can do the same thing if they are all defined as IMAP?

  In Thunderbird and POP connected accounts, you can set allows them to use the global Inbox in the local folders. You set this in the settings for each account. A built in tool is the unified folders view which reorganizes the display of files and shows a composite view of similar or equivalent records.

  I think with global Inbox and folders such as Sent, Trash, junk and autodefinies all records to be in local folders, your father would have something very close OE in appearance and function.

  Global Inbox is not supported with IMAP. I guess you could invent such an arrangement, but in principle, with IMAP, a file you see in Thunderbird is a mirror of what is on the server. If an Inbox that has been truly synchronized with the connected servers will have to break this rule. If it contained messages from several servers, it couldn't really represent what was in one of them.

  I imitate such behavior by using search folders saved, in which I understand the messages, unread, recently arrived, specific project and so on. But the saved search folders are stupid enough individuals; they don't really sync because they are effectively read-only (from the point of view of the user) and independent account.

  I tried to place different fonts and found that specifically put a font while not allowing the site to replace, it avoids the problem. Unfortunately some sites use characters that I can't identify just, so I normally run with the option to allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of using fixed fonts.

  On ebay, for example, I have the problem with the characters superscript. I tried to use Google Chrome is a point of comparison and found that the pages display correctly with chrome, but not with Firefox. Search on Google or Yahoo gives me a results page that does not have the characters superscript.

  You right click on a web page and select "Inspect element" to open the Inspector (Firefox/tools > Web Developer).

  You can try different default fonts temporarily disable fonts site to test the selected default font.

  Many issues of the site can be caused by corrupted cookies or cache. To try to solve these problems, the first step is to clear cookies and cache.

• How can I capture a hardware trigger (5.76 V, wide 25ns) and allows to trigger something else in LabView

  I'm trying to synchronize data between two different instruments using LabView.

  A single instrument will work regardless (it can be integrated with LabVIew for various reasons) and the synchronization signal of this instrument, which I want to use (5.76 square pulse, 25 ns wide V, occurs aperiodically) is "extracted" (I made a breakout box and have the synchronization signal on a coaxial cable that I can plug into anything).

  I want to take this synchronization signal and use it to trigger an event in LabView (the second instrument is controlled with LabView).

  I had hoped that a USB 6501 would be able to go around, but I realize now that he can't see a signal that is so short (I think).

  So, what should I do? How can I make LabView 'see' a such narrow pulse and use it to trigger an event?

  In summary:

  • Have digital signals from a piece of hardware on a coaxial cable - 5.76 V rectangular pulse, wide 25ns, occurs randomly nut not more often than every ms
  • Want to get the digital signal into my PC and LabView where I use this signal to trigger an event (in this case, to start an event of data acquisition on a different piece of hardware that is controlled with LabView)
  • I'm using LabView 2013 64 bit, Windows 7 x 64
  • I was hoping to use NI USB 6501, but I'm not sure it's possible, given that the impulse is so narrow
  • Picture of the sync signal as seen on a scope is attached (note there is a tiny little ring that will not present when I fix the cable)

  Hello

  You could use a flip flop to intercept the signal. Do not attach the pulse but the front. You can read the regular output of the scale with any hardware DAQ (digital or analog) and use the same DAQ hardware to reset the flip-flop.
