put the HARD drive in the optical drive stock

Hi all

I'm sorry if this is redundant, but I couldn't find the answer to any where or through telephone Support from Lenovo.

I received the W530 with stock 500 GB HARD drive, but I want to replace it with the Pro of 840 Samsung SSD and put the HARD drive in the optical drive. I just restore the image from HARD disc for my SSD orginal (now in the original HARD drive box).

At first I thought that I just leave the HARD drive in the original Bay and use the optical drive for the SSD, but since I use the SSD for the OS, and I want to use the DVD player sometimes, I thought I should put the SSD in original HDD bay and the HARD disk in the optical drive.

I'm sure I've read that a lot of people did it with success, but I do not know much about computers and have never done nothing wise hardwear. I tried to put the HARD drive in the caddy Newmode U.S. optical drive, but it wouldn't fit (the screw on the caddy heads are too big). I think it's because the HARD drive still has the metal casing on it. I am worried, however, that if I remove the caddy, it voids my warranty, and above all, I am wanting to make sure it is the correct and safe way to the stock HARD drive in the optical drive.

I put the rails HARD original on the SSD drive rubber because it is in which Bay but you have no other rails to the HARD drive in the case of the optical drive, and I don't even think he would fit in.

So, it's OK to remove the carriage on the stock of HARD drive and put it in the optical drive without any kind of rails or protection (but attach it to the optical drive with the supplied screws caddy)? I think that's what I have to do anyway with the SSd, if she had to go into the optical drive.

I am also an upgrade of RAM, but the keyboard under the bottom access RAM screw is stripped, so I can't remove the original RAM (it is under keyboard) and use the optimal 0 and DIMM slot installation 1. Any ideas?

Thanks for your time, and once again, sorry if this is very basic.

Change hard drives and memory do not void the warranty.

The DSS must be installed exactly as the original HARD drive was, with rails caddy and rubber.

The HARD drive in DVD case must be inserted with the 4 screws with the caddy, nothing else.

To remove the stripped screw, you must use the small (jeweller preference) needle clamp with extreme caution, or slowly drop the screw head to create a new location. The second option is more dangerous because it produces small deposits of metal. If you can't do it yourself, ajeweller could do this easily for you.

Good luck!

  • How can I put a hard drive of the laptop into a desktop computer?

I have a HP Pavilion 5000 ZV who died some time ago, and the hard drive is always good. It's 60 GB running Windows Xp. there I got the laptop from a friend because they did not want. Also I have a desktop IBM Aptivia since 1998 and it has a huge 8 GB HDD running windows 98. I want to put the laptop drive in the desktop and take out the old one. I would buy a new hard drive, but it's Microsoft Office 2003 pro. This is the only copy I have and I did re install the product key. I need this computer for my workshop. How to operate? Is there a part I need? If Yes, where can I get a?

If I understand correctly, you have a laptop HP Pavilion ZV 5000 which doesn't work but has a 60 GB HDD that has installed Windows XP and Office 2003 is also installed.

You want to put the laptop hard drive in an old desk.

You have two problems: hardware and software.

Hardware issues can probably be solved easily (you would need something like this $10--> http://tinyurl.com/d539pwf kit - but read the comments).

The problem of software is that you can not take an existing installation of Windows XP and completely change the hardware.  If you try, you will need to do a reinstall of Windows before it will work.

If you have a generic OEM XP install CD, you may be able to do a repair installation (save applications - for example Office 2003), but the CD must be at a same or later version of XP (Home, Pro) and Service Pack level as the version of XP that is installed.  You must also have the product key that is associated with the OEM install CD (I think that the key to the label on the HP will fail).

More likely, you will need to do a clean install, which will involve formatting the drive.

If you have the Office 2003 installation CD, you can retrieve its installation key from the drive of the laptop before installing it in the office.  Probably the best way to do this is to put the laptop in a hard drive enclosure external drive, which attach to a working computer and use of Magical Jelly Bean Keyfinder using his function to "Load hive".

Can I place this HARD drive (http://www.hgspot.hr/opis.aspx?ID=039682) on my laptop?
    TNX.

    Hey Buddy...

I have bad news for you...
The 'taken' mentioned is not taken!
In the second HARD drive Bay, you won't find a second HARD drive connector because this motherboard does not have this feature!

Some A200 laptop computers are equipped with the second HARD drive connector but is NOT all Ca support units? ¦

In your case, there is a second Bay but no possibility for a second HDD. :(

  • I would like to put my hard drive WD Scorpio Black of my 'old' laptop in another. How can I achieve this?

I have a laptop Gateway NV52 purchased Summer 2009. It had Windows Vista on it. A year ago, the Seagate 320 GB HDD crashed. I bought two a new HDD (an excellent Western Digital Scorpio Black, 500 GB) and Windows 7 Home Premium, I always have the discs and serial number for (so it isn't a pre-installed Windows version). I just bought a HP ProBook s 4530, which does not come with a 500 GB hard drive, but I don't want to have to re - install tons of software and games I have for work and pleasure. My job requires a lot of software, that which some I have to shell out hundreds of dollars to reinstall it on a new hard drive, since there is no way to disable my current drive. I could get in touch with the companies and ask permission to re - install with a new serial number and whatnot, but it's a lot of time that I don't have, and I heard co-workers that they often will not accept, because of rising rates of piracy.

In any case, I'm wanting to know if it would be possible to disable Windows 7 on my current computer and then turn it back on with my serial number on the new. If I do this, Windows will then set up the new hardware? The hard drive I was expensive and there magnificent execution, better than one that is preinstalled on the HP. I don't want to give it up. I thought I could just put the new hard drive for HP in the old computer, reformat the hard drive and buy and install another version of 7 on it so that I can sell them.

If someone can advise, it would be much appreciated!

I'm not sure of the legal ramifications of what you want to do, but if the HP Win7 on it, then you actually have two licensed copies win7, one on each drive.
The problem you'll encounter is the difference of between the bridge and the HP drivers. You might be able to do is to download all the drivers from HP on the WD, develop into folders so you can see the configuration and/or .inf files, put it in the ch, then start in safe mode. Then when it asks for drivers, you can point to the installation files.

My guess is that you won't have much chance to do that. The only time I had this success was on the upgrade of motherboards that were very similar to the chipsets and same brand (to AMD, Intel for Intel AMD) processors. If there are different processors, all bets are open whether or not it will succeed.
If all that you are missing are the keys to setup for the software you have installed on the bridge, there are programs on the internet that will allow you to find the keys to everything you have. You might want to try first before swapping discs and possibly making it useless for a laptop.

Good luck with what stage you decide to take, but it may be easier in the long run to simply install the software on the new. If you really want the WD drive in HP, you can image the two discs with a program like Acronis True Image or Macrium Reflect which allows you to create and restore images on a CD to boot. Create images of each disk on an external drive, swap the drives in laptops, then boot from the CD of imaging and restore the image of HP on the WD drive which is now in the HP, then reinstall your programs.
And a good time was had by all :-)

  • Upgrade XP to Windows 7. Put my hard drive in my system that has a new motherboard

I have to update my material, so that I can update my system to windows 7. I intend to use the same hard drive with a new motherboard, processor and other equipment that will be compatible with windows 7. Since I'm on the same hard drive I intend to buy the updated Windows 7 home version. I have a full version of Windows XP Home Edition that was used to install the OS on my current hard drive. Is that I have problems with questions of Microsoft or policy reguarding the software used on another computer when it is really the same computer thanks to the equipment updated, so that I can buy the update of win 7 and get current with the time?

    Hello

If you wish to format your hard drive, and you use a Windows 7 upgrade version, do not use a program from another software manufacturer to reformat your hard drive before installing Windows 7.

  • When put external hard drive or a usb ports on the old computer, windows xp flash drive cannot operate. Just try to take off the important information from this computer to put in another.

Get the yellow signal, and even if the device seems to work, Assistant ask me to install a disk into drive G.

It could happen because of the USB 1.1 of your old motherboard version. But your compatible USB 2.0 device & back USB 1.0 compatible with reduced performance mode. So, if the devices work, then just ignore the message.

Also make sure your Win XP has at least service pack 2 installed.

To find your version of Win XP:

Start > run > type "winver" (only the text within the quotation)

Reading the dialog box for the Windows version, subversion of copyright, Service pack etc.

Before Windows XP SP2, the OS had no compatibility issue for the USB 2.0 device.

Hopefully this will solve your problem.

  • Put a hard drive of 1 laptop to the other now Windows 7 says it isn't true.

I pulled my Toshiba screen came out on hard work and I put it in my Dell, and now the Dell says that he is not a genuine copy of Windows. This is a genuine copy of Windows 7 Professional, who has been in the Toshiba because it was new.

How can I get it to stop saying that I need to activate? When I click to activate it he says that's not authentic.  * smh *.

Thanks in advance for any help.

The DELL is allowed to run Windows 7 Professional? No, unless you have a valid license for Windows 7 Professional, who is not related to another machine (OEM) or a license to retail that is can not in use otherwise you do something like that.

The OEM of Windows 7 versions are identical to the versions commercial full license with the following exception:

-OEM versions don't offer any free direct support from Microsoft technical support Microsoft

-OEM Licenses are tied to the computer first you install and activate it on

-OEM versions allow all hardware upgrades except for an upgrade to a different model motherboard

-OEM versions does not move directly from an older Windows operating system

Thank you and looking forward to here from you soon.

    Hi Remelito,

I use a 80 GB hard drive in my SA30 and I suspect it would probably work with a 100 GB drive. However, as portable hard drives tend to suffer ruptures busiest I think their close office 80 GB is perfectly o.k. for me. I tend to have 25-30 GB used with the rest of the temporary files during editing of the videos etc. The hard drive in the A30 is usually under the optical drive to remove all first in order to access the hard drive.

Your A30 can be upgraded to a maximum of 2 GB of RAM in two slots. Currently, you will have 2 X 128 MB or 2 X 256 MB modules of RAM installed. You can get the modules of memory in the sizes of 128 MB, 256 MB, 512 MB or 1 GB. the following URL provides information on reference numbers (the United Kingdom site), but you can Google for a suitable provider.

Toshiba unfortunately do not provide regular updates to their display drivers (at least in my experience). Like you, I have an ATI Mobility Radeon 9000IGP in my SA30 and I resorted to a driver Omega catalyst in order to play newer games. I ran this Omega driver for many months now with still no Bul. You can obtain this driver from: -.

  • internal hard drive of the AirPort Extreme?

Is it possible to install an internal hard drive on AirPort Extreme?

    NO.

You can put a hard drive inside... as he shares the frame with the TC... but there is no control over the Board and boot rom is probably wrong.

If you want a hard drive of your only choice is to use USB... either course, you can get a Time Capsule.

  • replacing the hard drive and windows 8

just yesterday bought a hp laptop model #20002b19wm.

This laptop came preloaded with windows 8.

I think with windows 8, microsoft puts more COST on the machines themselves.

My question is this, say the hard drive breaks down and I need to replace it, I'll have to go out and buy another copy of windows 8? I read that the 8 victory is only good for your ' current configuration at the time of the "as its related to the form of machines, etc..

and where is my product key? hidden in the bios somewhere?

I have to buy my hard drive from hp directly? I read here that if you try to put any hard drive laptop in these machines, you can not install windows because the new drive does not have the "Recovery" partition

I'm pretty good with computers, and finally, I want to put a hard drive in this machine more. I hope someone out there can help.

We hope to hear from someone.

    Hello

Windows 8 machines come with the activation key encrypted in the bios chip, but you can always use a utility such as the one on the link below to read into the operating system.

    http://www.Belarc.com/free_download.html

If you create your recovery media set - see link below - you can use this to reinstall Windows 8 on another drive (it will also recreate the recovery on the new HARD drive Partition).

Create recovery media - Windows 8.

You are in no way limited to a given provider or a hard drive manufacturer.

    Kind regards

  • can I use the same product key once I formatted my hard drive using a vista upgrade disc?

can I reuse the same product code already used on one computer on another that I put that hard drive and is no longer using vista on this computer, but want to update another?

If your computer is pre-installed with Vista, it is classified as an OEM license and is not transferable.

The license of Vista OEM is related to the original computer it is installed on and dies with the computer.
You cannot transfer it to another computer/laptop

If a license of Vista at retail, you can transfer it to another computer/laptop.
But it can only be installed on one computer at a time.

A single license is a single Installation.
