Qosmio F10 - 100 - I want to replace the HARD drive

My hard drive on this laptop just died and I want to replace it. The current hard Bank ability is 60GB.5400 RPM.

Can someone tell me what than the maximum capacity hard drive I can come up, and if possible what should I look for in an equivalent hard disk if a replacement Toshiba is not readily available.

Thank you very much

Hello

Take a look at this thread:
http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=41606

Seems that you need a 2.5 IDE HARD drive.
I think you can take a 120 GB HDD and the HDD should work properly.

HARD drive Bay must be placed at the bottom of the unit.
Its guarantee with a plastic cover and screw. Remove the screw, then cover in plastic and then you should be able to remove the HARD drive...

Welcome them

I have a Qosmio X 500 - 10W with two drive HARD Toshiba MK5055GSX 500 GB 5400 RPM 8 MB? SATA II but is one of the hs so I'm wondering if I can be replaced by a more powerful style, drive HARD 750 GB 7200 RPM / min 16 MB Toshiba courses?

    Thank you

    Hey,.

Your question is a bit hard to understand, but I think you want to replace the HARD drive with another (faster) model, right?

Well, that s no problem. 7200 RPM hard drives works, they are a little stronger, but they're faster so if you need more performance without problem.
750 GB or more are also no problem because the SATA interface is not the limited capacity. Theoretically 1 TB or more should also work.

Anyway, you can buy the 750Go you mentioned that it will work. :)

  • Pavilion dv6600ev: I would like to replace the HARD drive and the RAM in my HP laptop. I want to check compatibility

Hello guys. I would like to replace the HARD drive and the RAM in my HP laptop. I would check the compatibility. For the momemt, I have 2 x 512 MB of RAM and a 160 GB HARD drive. Does anyone know the type of RAM (DDR1 or DDR2 most) and the accepted maximum capacity. Also the SATA port is a SATA I? Besides, I'm going to change the operating system (preferably in Win 7) so is there a driver?

You can install DDR2-800 modules and they are the most widely available at this point, but the memory will run at 667 mhz speed.

You'll need is a mobile SATA 2.5 "SSD to replace the wisk hard legacy spinner with. I highly recommend that replace you it with the current disk cloning to the new.  This is the simplest method. See the sticky that I created in this section of the forum for more details on how it's done.

An SSD of 256 GB or higher capacity is recommended as a replacement for the disk hard legacy currently installed. An SSD of 256 GB or higher capacity will allow to use the recovery media that you created with the HP Recovery Media Creator utility.

See the following links to NewEgg.com to see what will work. You can use SATA, SATAII and SATAIII interface SSDS. None of the other types of interfaces are compatible with the motherboard and the BIOS of your laptop!

  • Satellite L300-A13 - how to replace the HARD drive?

I need to replace my drive hard because I got a disc error and I could hear noises from him. Someone knows the size of the current hard drive replace (either 3.5 SATA or whatever it is)?

No space memory but actual size, so it can fit inside my computer and someone know a tutorial to replace by yourself?

    Hello

To replace the HARD drive, you need a 2.5 HARD drive SATA interface. These 3.5 HARD drive you want to say are only for desktop PC s peut t used in laptops to buy a 2.5 so one.

But it makes no difference which manufacturing you buy the HARD drive or the size. Just look for a 2.5 HARD drive SATA interface.

Replace the drive is pretty easy: just remove the two screws on the underside of the cover of the HARD drive. You can exchange it.
I know because I have the same laptop. ;)

    Hello

Your laptop is considered as coming with a 320 GB drive hard, but you can install just as easily a 500 GB or 750 GB HARD drive if you want a little more space - readers at the following links are examples that would be perfect for your laptop.

    Hard drive 500 GB

    750 GB hard drive.

The procedure to replace the hard drive begins on Page 57 of your & Maintenance Guide.

Regarding the upgrade your Ram, the maximum is only 8 GB (IE 2 x 4 GB Modules) - an example of an upgrade appropriate can be seen on the link below.

  • System Restore to factory settings after replacing the hard drive?

I have a Lenovo ThinkCentre A52, which recently required a change of hard disk and the removal of a defective RAM 1 GB stick. When I bought my computer, it came with Windows XP Pro and the new hard drive that the updated computer has Windows XP Pro, but it seems to be missing a large part of the software (drivers and programs) that originally came with the computer, and even if I downloaded and installed most of them since the Lenovo Web site There are still some problems related to software that I can't fix. Ideally, I'd like to go back just to restore the system to the factory settings using the ThinkVantage Rescue and Recovery program, but I don't know if it will work. All programs and the necessary drivers will be installed again, even if my current hard drive is not 'knows' thereon? I need to get a Windows XP Pro installation CD, if I want to keep my operating system? Also, is it important that my current hard drive is half the previous, or that I now have half as much RAM?

    Thank you

After replacing the hard drive, the only way to restore it to the State of the plant is using the Lenovo installation diskettes. You can also ask if Lenovo has a solution to your problem without having to reinstall Windows.

You can download Lenovo drivers if they are not included on the installation disk. The size of your hard drive does not matter.

  • Replace the hard drive 5400 to 7200

I want to replace my hard drive which is at 5400 RPM with a 7200 RPM.  Pavilion dv9810us laptop.  This laptop will do the upgrade in speed?

Yes as simple as plug & play.

WD Scorpio Black 500 GB or 750 GB if you need & with at least 16 MB of cache, they are readily available at great prices, fast & reliable... On a new generic installation Windows 7 you can get great startup faster disk speed gains. on an old HP of five year on windows 7 32 bit & 2 GB virtual laptop we get 45 > 50 seconds boot to usable desktop without too much effort & with antivirus installed thanks mainly to the fast drive...

  • Failed to retrieve after replacing the hard drive on my DV6

I replaced the hard drive on my DV6.  Insert the recovery discs, I had done and went through the process.  At the end it rebooted and was told that he failed.  Says to put 1 recovery disc in and try again, but just a loop even message.

    Hello

Assuming that it's just a problem with the recovery media, here's another solution, you can try.

Before you try the following, make sure that you can always read the character product activation key 25 on your label Windows COA (5 blocks of 5 alphanumeric games).

An example of a COA label can be seen here.

You can create a Windows 7 installation disc yourself using another PC - just download the good Disk Image ( this must be the same version that originally came with your laptop - it is listed as Windows 7 Home Premium ) from the link below and use an app like ImgBurn ( Note: you can deselect additional software offerings when you install ImgBurn) to burn the ISO correctly on a blank DVD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write an ISO on a disc is here.  The source of the Windows Image is Digital River.

    Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit SP1.

Use the disk to perform the installation, enter the activation key of Windows on the label of the COA at the request and once the installation is complete, use ' 'phone Method' described in detail in the link below to activate the operating system -this made method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who want to just have a new installation of Windows 7 without additional software load normally comes with OEM installations.

All pilots additional and the software, you may need can be found here.

  • Windows XP does not work when I replace the hard drive or motherboard... ?

    How can I make winxp work if I replace the motherboard or my HARD drive;
The question another way: I want to install Windows XP on the motherboard so I'll have to take the hard drive and connect it to another motherboard... How can I make because it open of course used... It is is not need any file b4 replacing or anything?

That may depend on whether you have a copy of Windows XP comes with your PC, to which it might be bios locked the card mother origonal.
If you have a retail version of Windows XP, you must perform a repair installation and install the new drivers of motherboard
    http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm

If you simply replace the hard drive, you reinstall Windows XP on the new drive, if it is a sata drive, it might be necessary to use the F6 option to install the drivers for the controller sata disks, at the beginning of the installation

Since you have replaced the hard drive and you try to install Windows on the new drive. Whenever the hard drive is replaced, the operating system must be reinstalled and restore all data you have saved

You can check out the link and check if it helps:

You can at any retail Branded 2.5 "SATA HDD 9.5 mm thickness, 1 TB will be OK - no problem with that.

Looking at the Manual - Page 59-61, the replacement procedure is not just easy to him if you're not used to it, needs great disassembly & may void the warranty if you do it yourself if under warranty. You can Contact HP for this.

    This would be nice.

HP would replace the HARD drive for free, if that came with the laptop failed in respect of the warranty period.

  • no boot device after replacing the hard drive

    Hello world!

My laptop (MSI) has erupted recently in my face (Fried GPU seems).  As I had and liked (Acer laptop) which had a broken hard drive, I have supported up to my datas and replaced the hard drive of Acer (one broken) with that of my MSI (latest laptop)

When I start the computer I get the message no bootable device: "no boot device - insert boot disk and press any key any."

I am not very savvy computer science, but I feel that it is perhaps due to the version of Windows I was using: my Acer running on Windows 7, when my MSI will run on window 8.  Could someone confirm if this has something to do with the startup problem?

Here's what I managed to do or find on the problem.

When I go into the BIOS, I changed the order of precedence so that my hard drive is the first priority.

There is absolutely no USB or SD card in my computer from where he might try to start (unless he's trying to start from an empty?).

The BIOS is able to tell me the model and I installed the hard disk MSI series so I guess that it is able to detect the hard drive, but can not find startup data in it (that's why I think it's maybe because it isn't the same window).  In addition, the hard drive lights up when I start the computer (and he did it on the MSI laptop too).

Even if the hard drive seems to be detected, I always tried to unplug and reconnect it a few times to make sure it wasn't just a matter of bad connection.

On many web sites, they recommend taking any diet and empty any current computer before restarting: unfortunately I can not do because the Acer laptop has a battery that is not easily accessible as newer computer (it cannot be removed from the outside, I need to open the laptop to get it and it is so I can know what it look like and how to remove it)

My brother managed to recover data from hard disk of MSI with a USB device that plugs on it, so I don't think it's broken.

The computer is an Acer Aspire 5830TG.  Replaced hard drive is a toshiba MK6459GSXP (works on Windows 7) and the replacement is a WD7500BPVX - 22JC3T0

I want to apologize if my English contains errors, it is not my mother tongue :)

Please let me know if you need more information and I thank you for your help!

    Hello

You cannot move a hard drive with Windows 8 on it from a computer and put it in another machine that were previously running Windows 7 and expect it to work.

    It will not.

    @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

And even if it would work physically, legally you cannot transfer the license of Windows 8 of the MSI laptop Acer laptop to your situation:

    Read this information:

If the laptop came with the preinstalled Windows operating system (Dell, HP, Acer, etc.), this product key supplied with the laptop is preinstalled OEM license and is not transferable.

OEM license/product key (systems of operating pre-installed on Dell, HP, etc.) is related to the first machine it is installed on and dies when dies of this machine.

The above applies also to OEM system builders licenses.

License of operating system in detail, that you buy and install yourself, are allowed to be transferred to another machine.

And retail licenses also can be installed on a machine at one time.
