Any thoughts?

Hello

Have you tried to remove the drive from Device Manager?
If this is not the case, try to do this and then restart the laptop.
After restarting again the operating system should recognize the drive again.
Check if it helps.

  • Qosmio G20-139 of the United Kingdom - TV tuner does not work in Libya

    Hello

My name is m, k, sh I live in Libya.
I bought Qosmio G20-139 until now it works normal but I would not use this pc to look at the possibility of using satellite channels. I get only the small screen in the screen of my pc.

In the operating manual of the said (tv tuner may not only work in the country of purchase. means to the United Kingdom only)
My equation, what can do to solve the broblem.

Can I install any software for example or another TV tuner?
The tv tuner in this pc, what they said is integrated.

    Thank you very much

    Hello

I think that the UK tuner will not work in Libya due to different video standards. I m talking about different settings PAL and NTSC.

In your case, it would be desirable to use an external USB DVB - T tuner (if DVB - T is available in Libya) that supports PAL/NTSC in Libya settings.

I think you have to look at some stores for local laptop/computer and should ask a few merchants for details.

    Welcome them

  • Capacity of the hard disk on the Qosmio G20-139

I recently bought the notebook of Toshiba Qosmio g20-139, announced as having an 80 GB hard drive. Check the properties of the drive C: I think capacity is 69.8 GB. And in the properties of the device, it gives the Volume 71547 MB (I presume it's 71,547 GB).

Does anyone can ease my mind explaining to me why I have not been 'ripped off '?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

I'm not 100% sure but I think this part of the HARD disk is not partitioned and it comes preinstalled Qosmioplayer. This player doesn't need all the space, but if recording on this drive is available, I presume that this registered program is also recorded on this unpartitioned part.

  • Qosmio G20 - 139 flashing indicator power DC only used

    Qosmio G20 139
System does not boot, gives a flashing orange DC power indicator only.

    No other indicator.
Seems to be a code. If I read gives 332
Battery is fully charged and tried more than one power supply.

Checked the voltage on the inputs MB seems OK
Have you tried all the combinations of battery and network combinations but nothing changes.

Hmm... looks like a hardware problem on the mobo...
    Check the memory sticks.
Remove one and try to power the unit using a module only.
You should check both with different combinations means you should check also the two memory slots.

My computer laptop didn t start because of the defective module.
However, if this does not help, then you will need contact a local technician because the guy could locate the defective part.
But I think it could be a motherboard problem, which means that the new Council would be necessary and this can be very expensive.

  • Qosmio G20-139 - where I can get a good price?

    Hello world

I am looking for a Qosmio G20-139. Anyone know where I can get a very good price? I'm hoping not to spend more than £1200.

    Thank you

    Chris

    Hello

Well, I found an information that this laptop costs about £1,400
    Check this site:
    http://UK.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/product_page.jsp?service=UK&PRODUCT_ID=108723&Tosh ibaShop = false & retailer = true

But in my opinion you should google a little and compare prices, because many online stores offer this laptop and price, the differences are a lot.

In prouction specifications said maximum extension 2048MB

I can upgradeed 4 g or not? or only 2048 max.
    Thank you very much

    Hello

If the manual indicates that only 2 GB are possible then you can move the RAM only to 2 GB (2 x 1 GB module)

I thing the laptop supports the Intel 915 PM chipset and it supports 2 GB of RAM.

  • Qosmio G20 - 139 problem - won't turn on no-help

I had my Qosmio G20-139 since early 2006 and have had no problems with it so far.

About a week ago I started having some blue screen error, I installed the latest driver updates etc and assumed that would cover all the problems. Today, however, my laptop goes off and I can't get it to power upward. The lights on the front, showing the power and battery etc, are lit, and when I press the power button it lights up usual blue, however, nothing else happens. No other light (eg. screen remote wireless, indicator hard disk etc.). The laptop seems to just unable to power on.

I guess I wonder if there is a fix for this, or if I have to send the laptop.

My main concern is that few of my files are backed up and I have a lot of photos and data, that I can't really afford to lose.

Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Even if someone would guide me towards a solution to recover files.

    Thank you
    Stephanie

    Hey Buddy

From your description of the laptop turns off automatically.
Perhaps this was caused due to internal temperature high more often than the laptop goes off to prevent the equipment from damage

I don't very well if you get the laptop working again if some of the material is too bad Mr. I mean if processor or motherboard are affected while a replacement could help solve this problem.

In my opinion, the material should be checked by a technician of the ASP.

    With regard to your data on the disk HARD;
Well, it might be possible to remove the portable computer HARD drive and connect it to another computer using an external HARD disk controller.
Then you should be able to access the HARD disk and back up data.

  • Qosmio G20-139 of freezing

    Hello

I was wondering if anyone has had this problem. I have a Qosmio G20-139, which was purchased from Jan. 2006, in the last two weeks, it seems to freeze. I have to power it down, when I re turn on it does nothing.

If I leave it for about 1/2 hour it will start and run normally again.

Maybe overheating? Dust placed inside your laptop blocks the air flow and the laptop cannot be cooled properly.

    Hello

That s just to change the BIOS settings in the BIOS!
I think that the BIOS settings are placed in the last page of the BIOS (3).

Try setting the 1RAID-0 on the first HARD disk and the 2RAID-0 the second HARD disk.

It worked well on my laptop.

By the way; information on the RAID configuration found in the user manual.

    Have a nice day ;)

  • Qosmio G20 102: problem RAID the installation of windows xp media center

First of all I did not the raid driver for my qosmio. I tried the RAID of Qosmio G20, another pilot but when it reached the stage when I ask windows to format the C driver it shows me an error. It is said that there is an error in the KR10N file and it stops there.
Please help me and thank you.

    Hello

It seems that the Qosmio G20 102 belongs to the series of PQG20E.
Research on the European driver Toshiba page I found the RAID for Windows XP MCE driver v1.03.0008 (can also be used with XP Pro).

You will need an external USB FDD to include this driver in the operating system.
But note; After installing the RAID driver you shouldn't t format the HARD disk or create a new partition, because that will remove the RAID driver from the HARD disk and installing the OS fails!

I hope I could help you would also appreciate a feedback ;)
    Best regards

  • Satellite M40: message: can not play because the DVD decoder is not installed

not serious... I am back... I did a little reading and tried to read another cd in the drive and the message came to say "can't play because the dvd decoder is not installed, so I guess that's the problem because I have a recovery * DVD *.» Anyone know where I can find a dvd for a Satellite M40 decoder?

    > can't play because the dvd decoder is not installed
This message appears if you want to play DVD movies with an application like Windows Media Player that has no (plug-in) installed DVD decoder.
Usually the DVD can be played with special programs like WinDVD or PowerDVD for example!

But this DVD decoder has nothing to do with the Toshiba Recovery DVD and the fact your new DVD Player cannot read the recovery DVDs.
