Query components are in the order

The query results cannot be guaranteed without one would ORDER BY. What happens if the query contains several application components. Although the spare parts request return unordered records, are the parties themselves in order?

SELECT 'First' IN UNION double all THE

SELECT 'Second' FROM Dual;

Is guaranteed second come second?

BrianTkatch wrote:

Solomon, is a good example.

However, in both cases, the t2 were returned after t1. The only thing that changed was the order within the query part itself.

Can you show a case where this is not the case?

I mustn't. Just check set operators: set operators combine the results of two queries of component in one result - not to mention what component query results go first. Same topic:

UNION ALL

All of the rows selected by a query including all duplicates

Once again, no metioning order. So if today Oracle returns the results of the first query first, we cannot count on it. Oracle is free to change in future versions.

    Hello

    Right; the order in which the columns appear in the SELECT clause has nothing to do with the lines that are in the result set.

    In fact, unless you say SELECT DISTINCT , I don't think there's anything (except to trigger an error) you can do in the SELECT clause, which would change the lines are selected.

    Sorry, I misread the question. You may have about the order of the conditions in the WHERE clause, not the SELECT clause.

    The answer in short is the same:
    Right.

    Unless you mix ANDS and ORs (no one should ever do and that you are not), the order of the conditions will make no difference in the results.

  • Sidebar gadgets are in random order each time I restart the application from the sidebar or I restart the computer.

    For some reason, whenever I restart the computer or I close the application of the sidebar and re - open in the start menu, my gadgets are in random order.

    I saw another thread for this on Microsoft Answers Social, but his problem was just after installation of SP2. I had SP2 for a long time and recently began to experience this.

    A moderator of Microsoft support proposed making sure that Java and Flash have been fully installed and implemented to date. I have both.

    However, due to a recent achievement in the platform of Adobe Flash (the one that allows the remote control, discovered last week), Adobe has proposed the Flash upgrade to the release candidate 7 (10.1) version. What I did. Could that be the cause? Hope not. If this is the case, then I will be happy to downshift until a solution has been found. However, the Java platform is perfectly updated and operational. And it's the 6.20 version, which is the latest public version.

    Well, I reformatted my hard drive and all restore factory settings.

    Everything worked fine... Until I installed again my Adobe CS5 Master Collection.

    So I started uninstalling the components one by one to see what worked...

    It turns out that Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Extended (or rather the 64-bit extension him) makes the sidebar go haywire.

    Uninstalled Acrobat 9 and no problems yet. Restarted several times to make sure.

    I hope that one day I'll find an update to Acrobat who sets. Maybe I'll go post in the Adobe forums for that one.

    Whatever it is, no biggie for me - I barely use Acrobat.

  • How to write a hierarchical query so that only the child nodes are displayed?

    Hi all

    I have a hierarchical query that I use in an area of tree demand APEX and there are nodes that have no children and I am trying to find a way to not display these nodes. Essentially if the user does not have to develop a lot of knots to know that nothing exists at the most detailed level.

    The data are based on the Oracle Fusion FND tables but for example purposes here is enough data to illustrate my question:

    create table APPL_TAXONOMY_HIERARCHY (SOURCE_MODULE_ID varchar2(30), TARGET_MODULE_ID varchar2(30));
    create table APPL_TAXONOMY_TL (module_id varchar2(30), description varchar2(100), user_module_name varchar2(30), language varchar2(5));
    create table APPL_TAXONOMY (MODULE_ID    varchar2(30),    MODULE_NAME    varchar2(30), MODULE_TYPE varchar2(10),    MODULE_KEY varchar2(30));
    create table TABLES (table_name varchar2(30), module_key varchar2(30));

    insert into APPL_TAXONOMY_TL values ('1', null, 'Oracle Fusion', 'US' );
    insert into APPL_TAXONOMY_TL values ('2', null, 'Financials', 'US' );
    insert into APPL_TAXONOMY_TL values ('3', null, 'Human Resources', 'US' );
    insert into APPL_TAXONOMY_TL values ('20', null, 'Accounts Payable', 'US' );
    insert into APPL_TAXONOMY_TL values ('10', null, 'General Ledger', 'US' );

    insert into APPL_TAXONOMY_HIERARCHY values ('1', 'DDDDDDDD');
    insert into APPL_TAXONOMY_HIERARCHY values ('2', '1');
    insert into APPL_TAXONOMY_HIERARCHY values ('3', '1');
    insert into APPL_TAXONOMY_HIERARCHY values ('4', '1');
    insert into APPL_TAXONOMY_HIERARCHY values ('10', '2');
    insert into APPL_TAXONOMY_HIERARCHY values ('20', '2');

    insert into APPL_TAXONOMY values ('1', 'Fusion', 'PROD', 'Fusion');
    insert into APPL_TAXONOMY values ('2', 'Financials', 'FAMILY', 'FIN');
    insert into APPL_TAXONOMY values ('10', 'GL', 'APP', 'GL');
    insert into APPL_TAXONOMY values ('3', 'Human Resources', 'FAMILY', 'HR');
    insert into APPL_TAXONOMY values ('20', 'AP', 'APP', 'AP');

    insert into tables values ('GL_JE_SOURCES_TL','GL');
    insert into tables values ('GL_JE_CATEGORIES','GL');

    My hierarchical query is as follows:

    with MODULES as
    (
    SELECT h.source_module_id, b.user_module_name, h.target_module_id
          FROM APPL_TAXONOMY_HIERARCHY H,
          APPL_TAXONOMY_TL B,
    APPL_TAXONOMY VL
    where H.source_module_id = b.module_id
    and b.module_id = vl.module_id
    and vl.module_type not in ('PAGE', 'LBA')
    UNION ALL
    select distinct table_name, table_name,  regexp_substr(table_name,'[^_]+',1,1)
    from TABLES --needed as a link between TABLES and APPL_TAXONOMY
    union all
    select module_key as source_module_id, module_name as user_module_name, module_id as target_module_id  from appl_taxonomy VL where VL.module_type = 'APP')
    SELECT  case when connect_by_isleaf = 1 then 0
                when level = 1             then 1
                else                           -1
           end as status,
    LEVEL,
    user_module_name as title,
    null as icon,
    ltrim(user_module_name, ' ') as value,
    null as tooltip,
    null as link
          FROM MODULES
          START WITH source_module_id = '1'
          CONNECT BY PRIOR source_module_id = target_module_id
    ORDER SIBLINGS BY user_module_name;

    In Oracle APEX, this gives a tree with the appropriate data, you can see here:

    https://Apex.Oracle.com/pls/Apex/f?p=32581:29 (username: guest, pw: app_1000);

    The SQL of the query results are:

    STATUSTITLE LEVELVALUE

    ---------- ---------- ------------------------------ ------------------------------

    11 oracle FusionOracle Fusion
    -12 financial tablesFinancials
    -13 accounts payableAccounts payable
    04 APAP
    -1General Accounting 3General Accounting
    -14 GLGL
    05 GL_JE_CATEGORIESGL_JE_CATEGORIES
    05 GL_JE_SOURCES_TLGL_JE_SOURCES_TL
    02 human resourcesHuman resources

    The lowest level is the name of the table to level 5. HR is not any level under level 2, in the same way, "AP" (level 4) has nothing below, i.e. no level 5 and that's why I don't want to show these nodes. Is this possible with the above query?

    Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

    John

    Hello

    The following query will include only the nodes of level = 5 and their ancestors (or descendants):

    WITH modules LIKE

    (

    SELECT h.source_module_id

    b.user_module_name AS the title

    h.target_module_id

    To appl_taxonomy_hierarchy:

    appl_taxonomy_tl b

    appl_taxonomy vl

    WHERE h.source_module_id = b.module_id

    AND b.module_id = vl.module_id

    AND vl.module_type NOT IN ('PAGE', "LBA")

    UNION ALL

    SELECT DISTINCT

    table-name

    table_name

    , REGEXP_SUBSTR (table_name, ' [^ _] +')

    From the tables - required as a link between the TABLES and APPL_TAXONOMY

    UNION ALL

    SELECT module_key AS source_module_id

    AS user_module_name module_name

    module_id AS target_module_id

    Of appl_taxonomy vl

    WHERE vl.module_type = 'APP '.

    )

    connect_by_results AS

    (

    SELECT THE CHECK BOX

    WHEN CONNECT_BY_ISLEAF = 1 THEN 0

    WHEN LEVEL = 1 THEN 1

    OF ANOTHER-1

    The END as status

    LEVEL AS lvl

    -, NULL AS icon

    , LTRIM (title, "") AS the value

    -, NULL as ToolTip

    -, Link AS NULL

    source_module_id

    SYS_CONNECT_BY_PATH (source_module_id - or something unique

    , ' ~' - or anything else that may occur in the unique key

    ) || ' ~' AS the path

    ROWNUM AS sort_key

    Modules

    START WITH source_module_id = '1'

    CONNECT BY PRIOR Source_module_id = target_module_id

    Brothers and SŒURS of ORDER BY title

    )

    SELECT the status, lvl, title, value

    -, icon, tooltip, link

    OF connect_by_results m

    WHEN THERE IS)

    SELECT 1

    OF connect_by_results

    WHERE the lvl = 5

    AND the path AS ' % ~' | m.source_module_id

    || '~%'

    )

    ORDER BY sort_key

    ;

    You may notice that subqueries modules and the connect_by_results are essentially what you've posted originally.  What was the main request is now called connect_by_results, and it has a couple of additional columns that are necessary in the new main request or the EXISTS subquery.

    However, I am suspicious of the 'magic number' 5.  Could you have a situation where the sheets you are interested in can be a different levels (for example, some level = 5 and then some, into another branch of the tree, at the LEVEL = 6, or 7 or 4)?  If so, post an example.  You have need of a Query of Yo-Yo, where you do a bottom-up CONNECT BY query to get the universe of interest, and then make a descendant CONNECT BY query on this set of results.

    The question is how do I get the position of the foresight of component the FlowPane and change the order when I drop the component?

    P.S

    I have a FlowPane with many small panels that are BorderPanes. I want to change the order of the BorderPanes with the mouse drag and drop. But I'm sure that this feature at the moment is not possible. So I think I can solve this problem in the other direction.

    I can insert component additional which will be inserted into the FlowPane and held the BorderPane:

    FlowPane-> component-> BorderPane

    I can add setOnDragDetected() and setOnDragDropped to the component in order to implement the transaction slip and fall.
    The question is which component will be suitable for this task? I need to make it transparent and it must be resizable auto because the BorderPanes can expand and shrink. Can you give me some advice?

    Concerning

    No idea why you think that you should add another component between each part of the border and the workflow pane. Why not just put the behavior of dragging on each side of the border?

    To change the order, just children of the pane flow and basically manipulate it like any other list, using (...) remove and add (...). Just be careful to remove the two nodes first, then add them after (so you do not violate the rules of the graphic scene).

  • Error in query of the ordered result query contained CFSCRIPT in CF10

    I came across a very interesting error when you perform a query of a query within a CFSCRIPT tag...

    I get a result in withdrawal of a SQL Server stored procedure.  This is a list of metric names (METRIC_ID) and the metric measures themselves.

    I need to pull the METRIC_ID for this outcome, plans to make a JOIN on another query having display and other attributes of formatting for display in a web page.

    The following code runs without error when the query is not ordered:

    var displayDataQuery = new Query();

    displayDataQuery.setName ("joinedQuery");

    displayDataQuery.setDBType ("query");

    displayDataQuery.setAttributes (qry1 = fullMetricsListQuery);

    displayDataQuery.setAttributes (qry2 = arguments.cubeData);

    displayDataQuery.setSQL ("SELECT METRIC_ID FROM qry2");

    var tempResultSet = displayDataQuery.execute ();

    var cubeMetricIDList = tempResultSet.getResult ();

    When I take the same results of exact query of the same stored procedure, but it is controlled by an ORDER BY clause, this statement;

    var tempResultSet = displayDataQuery.execute ();

    get the following error: "value" cannot be converted to a number.»   It is 2 apostrophes, meaning an empty string between 'value' and 'impossible.'

    Wait, what?  I want to just a list of names metrics, varchars.  Why is there a conversion error...?

    The error in the end pprovided back to ColdFusion10\cfusion\CustomTags\com\adobe\coldfusion\base.cfc, line 445

    OK, this is where it takes an interesting twist...

    Starting at line 444, in base.cfc, line 445 bolded in red:

    "< cfif sqlType NEQ" "and arraylen (sqlParams) gt 0 >."

    < cfloop index = "i" = "2" to = "#ArrayLen (sqlArray) #" >

    < arraylen (sqlParams) of lte cfif (i-1) >

    < cfqueryparam attributeCollection = "#sqlParams [i-1] #" / >

    < / cfif >

    #getPreserveSingleQuotes (sqlArray [i]) #.

    < / cfloop >

    < / cfif >

    So if I understand correctly, when I have a query, unordered, copy the following code in base.cfc bed the SQL code in displayDataQuery.setSQL ("SELECT METRIC_ID FROM qry2"), but is not when the query is controlled by METRIC_ID... ?

    Oh, wait... the CFDUMP when using an ordered set of data says something else...

    query
    RESULTSET
    CACHINGfake
    EXECUTIONTIME4
    SQLSELECT * FROM qry1 ORDER OF METRIC_ID, LOCATION

    I'm a bit confused why the same data in works set ordered, while an ordered set causes this error.

    All useful suggestions or clues would be greatly appreciated!

    Do you mean that the error has occurred without the order by clause?

    Given that the error only occurs with one unsorted data set, I'm a bit confused why you ask this...?

    I've followed your suggestion:

    Run the same code, but use the cfquery instead of cfscript tag. The error persists there?

    My assumption was that your suggestion is to test it against a set of ordered data because that is what caused the original error.

    Unfortunately, the error occurs in the scenarios the tag and script-based.

    There is absolutely no sense why this happens.  The order of a set of data should have no impact on a query of a query on a column defined as varchar.

    If there are null values in the other columns defined as a type of digital, big deal, the code in question does not seek to assess these columns.  Still more interesting thing is why disorderly orderly vs makes a difference.

  • I have a number of accounts (left), I would like to change the order in which they are displayed, THE who is first and who is the last.

    In the left column of the program is a list of all the e-mail addresses that Thunderbird checks. I want to change the order of the list of e-mail addresses. Some addresses are more important to me than others. I would like than to be at the top of the list. How can I move them in the order I want?
    Thank you

    I use TB to access emails from 5 different accounts. They are displayed in the order in which I added the but I would like to change this order. Is it possible, please?

    Go to the Add Ons page and the search for records of manual sorting. It will allow you to rearrange the files and accounts.
