Question about a warranty on my new laptop

I just bought this laptop Dell Inspiron 1525 Friday from Best Buy. It is brand new, never used. I came across this site for tech support help and the website says that my warranty has expired. How could this be when I bought the computer a few brand-new days ago? I thought that all computers Dell came with a warranty and tech support support until the expiration of the warranty.

and I don't know how necessary are to my duties to my laptop.

Here are the 3 programs, which are the same company.

    1) cisco EAP-FAST Module
    2) cisco LEAP Module
    3) cisco PEAP Module

All I want to know is...

    (A) these programs are necessary for the functionality of my laptop?

(if I uninstall it, will I problem?)

    (B) with my laptop witch device these programs are linked?

Thank you very much for your help

    Hello:

If you have a network Atheros wireless card in your laptop computer, these programs have been installed by the Atheros wireless driver.

They are probably not necessary for standard wireless connections.

I had to actually uninstall a Dell ST PC Tablet, because they didn't allow the tablet to connect to my home network.

No one will be able to tell you what impact they will have on your particular situation.

If you have an Atheros wireless adapter and you decide to uninstall these 3 possibilities of use, and something goes wrong on you, then simply reinstall the Atheros driver and these applications must be reinstalled.

  • Question about international warranty

Searching in the forums, but couldn't find anything on the international warranty. I wonder if anyone has had experience with it ny, or know, or how it works.

If a Toshiba laptop was purchased outside of the United Kingdom (in Russia) would be the "international guarantee" more to do in Britain? Perhaps this applies to operation/application systems, which are localized in Russian, but would be an authorized service provider fix a flaw in the hardware of the laptop?

    Thanks for all your comments!

    Hello

Please check this page http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/services_search.jsp?service=EU&oldOptionCategory=& selOptionCategory = 60918

Here you can learn more about international warranty extensions. I know that you should buy this warranty in the country where you bought your laptop. If you contact the service approved in Russia partner they can tell you more about it.

  • When is MS stop support Vista service pact 2 and a few questions about the upgrade to the new version

    Hello comrades,.

I have a few questions and concerns, and hope that you guys can share with me some lights here.

    1. What is MS stop supports the Covenant of service about the update of windows Vista 2 / other online support?

    2. my computer is vista based 32 bit, ultimate version. I heard that there are a lot of wonderful things about Windows 8. Should I move to Windows 8, or should I actually wait awhile then buy a new computer with Windows 8 64 bit attached?

Honestly, it's a question that has been bothering me for some time. But my laptop is 4 GB of RAM, 1920 x 1080 HD display, 300 GB HARD drive at 5400 RPM (cost me a lot - it's a SONY) and have been works very well even with vista, the operating system highly complainted by many others. I think it would be a waste to buy a new computer, including the so-called net-books and i - PAD, I know, they are beautiful and sexy, but looking at their record, I was speechless. Yet knowing 32bits was maximum and MS has already announced that they stopped support for Vista SP1, consider that SP2 is expected online.

    3. how long do you 32-bit based can last? Should I increase the RAM of 4 GB to 6 GB and upgrade to Windows 8?

    4. How about 64-bit based of the future? Or is it true that most of the computer manufacturing starts in the future these application device of the base (not the real computer-driven software)?

    5. or should I forget it all, wait 3-4 years, until my laptop would be a museum piece, then buy a desktop computer which monitor and hard drive is all separated, knowing it is the best technique for the $s and phone for mobile computing laptop use there?

I understand that this is somewhat a personal decision, but I really appreciate you guys Preview on the path of the operating system! Thank you

Yes it will work to buy a copy upgrade of Windows 8.   This is a custom installation rather than an upgrade in place once you switch between 32-bit and 64-bit.  However you can still save money by buying the upgrade license.

More important is that all the drivers you need will be available.  Your computer manufacturer will not write drivers for Windows 8 because the computer has been out of production far too long.

Windows 8 is a significant departure from previous versions and I suggest that you upgrade to Windows 7 If you are tired of Vista or wait until you buy a new computer before Windows 8.  You read the discussions on the forums of Windows 8 CP.  At this point, there are many critics of Windows 8 due to the removal of the Start button and Start Menu.  Many people dislike having to rely on style Metro Screen start for many things.  It is becoming a major concern.

To navigate to the Windows 8 CP forums use in the middle of the dropdown at the top of this forum page.

Note:  Microsoft has not announced that there will be copies upgrade for Windows 8.  Microsoft has already stopped providing copies of upgrade of Office is not yet clear what will be available for 8.

  • Can't decide on a PC and a Question about the warranty.

Hello. After seeing EVERYTHING at my disposal, HP is one. This is where the problem begins. I know which one I choose is custom. But do the desktop PC HP ENVY Phoenix h9 - 1400t or the desktop HP ENVY h8 - 1520t? I'll do the average more stuff: photo editing, movies, burning CD/DVD and looking in the game (very very new to the game).

I have a budget that my wife won't let me go. So to get a PC will not be 100% to my tastes. In order to get 100%, I'll have to get a LIGHTSCRIBE DRIVE and a 120 GB SSD to add to the computer. Get the SSD installed at HP puts me on the budget and I'm not the extra burner. If I add these two things to the PC myself it the WARRANTY?

We will also add 2 more to the House. Laptop, Ultrabook or tablet. I don't know who. All will need a recovery/boot. Optical drive may not be on all. What should I use Dedicated USB Flash key for each or external hard drive (all three spend on one) or should I arrange to put everything on DVD.

To my knowledge, lighscribe is outdated technology. There are not many manufacturers optical drive with lightscribe now.

Addition of 128GB SSD does not void warranty.

Is recommended to have a separate 16 GB / 32 GB flash drives according to the recommendation of the system to keep the recovery image.

I would recommend Flash as the disks.

  • Question about us / warranty Toshiba UK

    Hiya,

I am planing to buy a Toshiba laptop in the USA and I would like to know how the US warranty works in the United Kingdom. Basically, I would like to know:

    1. where should I register the warranty (American or British)? What is an international warranty? (I might have the product in the case of radio shack)
2 - the registration can be online (i.e. website)?
is 3 - possible for toshiba UK to deal with the product in case of fault under the warranty? or I have to post the phone the dealer/manufacturer in the United States?
4-do I have to pay extra to get a kind of ' international '?

    Thank you very much!

    Hello

To pick up all this information, you should check Toshiba U.S. and Toshiba UK page. I'm sure you'll find detailed information on this subject. In any case, I'll try to give you some answers.

    (1) guaranteed should be registered in the country of purchase. You cannot save laptop US to the United Kingdom.
    (2) I think that Yes. Visit the Toshiba U.S. page under http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/su/su_sc_home.jsp
    (3) I don't see that they are not able to deal with it. only, it can happen that repair times will be a little longer because of the timing of the order of material in the United States
    (4) as far as I know that each cell has one year international warranty, but if you live in the United Kingdom you should buy International warranty Extensions to the United States.

To be honest, you should buy laptop in your country, but it's your decision.

    Good luck!

  • Question about the warranty Toshiba

I bought my Equium in England in June - can someone tell me if the Toshiba warranty is valid in France please.
    David Mellor

    Hello

As far as I know each laptop has one year international warranty. This means that you can repair your laptop in different countries. Again, international warranty is for one year only. If you have more than one year, you must purchase international warranty Extensions.

    All that s!

  • Satellite M70-340: Question about the warranty if I buy in Russia and move to Australia

I would buy the Satellite M70-340 laptop here in Russia. Next month I'll move to Australia. What the warranty in this case?

Will I be charged if problems occur?
How can I recognize a laptop that is officially sold (= I mean legally delivered and comes with a guarantee in the world)?

Thank you very much for your answer!

To my knowledge, you can save your laptop on the European site of Toshiba for services and extensions of warranty and uprisings.
The serial number of the laptop must be registered generally on this site.
I think you can buy a few additional warranty packages that allow you to get the guarantee availability in the world.

But usually if something goes wrong on the laptop you will need to contact Toshiba authorized service partner in your country.
On the Toshiba support page, you will also find a database for service partners worldwide.

  • Question about fix Windows XP install on laptop with connected screen

The laptop is a Dell Inspiron B130 with Windows XP Home SP3.   I got to a little old lady after the display has stopped working.  The laptop works fine hooked up to a monitor and the display still works sometimes.  I tried to replace the inverter and inverter cable, but neither solves the problem.   I could buy a new screen, but don't want to spend more than $100 on a long shot that it can resolve this display problem.   I also downloaded and installed the latest drivers to display on the Dell website and they did not stabilize the display problem either.  Then, I tried to do a repair of Windows XP installation to see if there is a software problem that causes this problem.  However, I'm not sure that the monitor displays the screens I go through the repair process.  If we use only the display on the laptop and it turns black, of course, I wouldn't to complete the installation.  Any ideas or experience on this?    Thank you!

    Try to run, type: Msinfo32

In the new window, click components, search for "problem devices".

Once through, close, type run. DXDIAG

Run the tests of Direct X.

In addition, the Msinfo32 info, discover youre chipset on the MB, go to sound

MFG website (intel, amd, etc.), download & install the chipset installation utility.

    You could do this first.

  • Question about the migration to a new vswitch NFS port group

We currently have our group of NFS port on the vSwitch that has all our VLAN and I'd like to bring out a vSwitch isolated dedicated network cards that will handle only NFS communnication.

I have two network cards additional that I configured on an another vSwitch.  My question is can I remove the port from a vSwitch group and add it to this new and expect it to work?  This unmount and mount the NFS volume for me?  It will be just a quick blip?  What is a larger company?  I ask because I'm trying to figure if I need power off all the virtual machines that are on NFS before moving the port group.

Is there another method that I should follow to do what I'm doing?

    Thank you

    t

You'll need plan a failure.  You will need to create a new portgroup vmkernel, since you can't really "moving" a portgroup.  In addition, since you must create a vmkernel portgroup, it cannot be on the same subnet as the existing vmkernel portgroup.  You can have two on the same subnet, no matter how vSwitch' are you have.  Also, I'm not 100% sure the NFS, when you go back, to be assigned a new ID and be recognized as a new data store and force you to re-register your vm.  It's pretty easy to do, but it may be necessary.

  • Re: Question about the warranty contract number / decompressor "Vid.iv32."

    Hello

    1. I have this message when I try to play a dvd: video not available, cannot find decompressor "Vid.iv32."

    2. in the extended warranty, I wonder for "Contract number", where I get this.

    (1) possibly, you use a DVD player software that doesn t supports the video file or you have not installed a necessary codex.

    (2) use this page www.toshiba-tro.de/unitdetails/

  • Question about the warranty contract number

I've been recording my toshiba L10 and the basic warranty, but I have not received agree security number to save extention of warranty.
What should I do to receive the warranty contract number?

    Hello

AFAIK that should be given the right address if you save your standard warranty. I guess that you will receive an email from Toshiba with good security agreement number. It takes a few times. But if you want, you can ask Toshiba authorized service provider for this number.

    Check this box:
