  Solution? Buy your own Vista and use it with the activation code valid. The button located on the bottom side belongs to the Windows XP Home edition version, that you got with recovery media. It is not a kind of universal key.

  I reinstall Vista without the recovery CD and now the FN keys work, but not all. That is, I can't lock the Touchpad and the FlashCards also didn't come down, if I press a FN key.

  Check the support site of Toshiba Europe again to see if there is ever a version for VAP. I have a A200 and there was a problem with VAP installed in the recovery image.

  I deleted it from the system and installed the latest version of the Toshiba support page. Now, by pressing the key of KN, flash cards appear very fast and I can use al of them without any problem.

  Also check the touchpad settings. There must be also the option to disable touchpad.

• Questions about running the XP on Vista Games

  I've been curious about using older games of XP on Vista and have not been able to find clear answers to this topic with my own research on the internet.  I'm a Fan of First Person Shooter, and they are scarce since Vista came out.  So I would like to add a few shooters of Vista I have with some of the older games, but I have questions to do.

  My questions are:

  1. If I have an old XP game that is listed as not compatible with Vista can still use it if I play it in compatibility mode for XP SP2? (The game's FEAR)
   
  2. This will mess up my system Vista SP1?

  3. If I install 2 or 3 of these old games XP on my Vista SP1 pc and run in XP SP2 compatibility mode microsoft at some point let me no update Vista again?

  4. should I patch older XP games so I don't want?  I just want to play on solo not online.

  (The games are FEAR, DOOM3, QUAKE4 and PREY). Everything for one player only.

  I had these issues since I got Vista.  I couldn't really find that responses indicated clearly by someone I thought I knew what they were talking about so I hope that I can help.

  Hello Jebidia,

  Thank you for posting.  You have very valid questions and I have some answers.  I currently play FEAR (tested prey in the past) on my Vista Ultimate 64-bit without problems no matter what.  I'd say you do a regular install of the games and they should work fine.  Now if you have some problems, and then reinstall the game in compatibility mode.  As for your other questions, you should have no worries about the game, do not let you Vista update.  Patch games can sometimes resolve known problems that the games themselves are with compatiblities hardware Vista and possible.  You can search for Tweakguides to find a site very useful for players.

  I have an A135-S4427 which came with Windows Vista.
  As I did not like the vista I formatted and installed Windows Xp Professional with SP2 and got all the drivers working.
  All I need now is a product key for activation of windows. I tried to use the key which is at the bottom of my laptop... but did not work.

  Any help please?

  The product key on the bottom of your laptop is specific to the OEM of VISTA that came bundled with your noteook version. If you have installed a different operating system, then you must use the product key provided with the operating system that you have installed. It will be normally provided in the CD itself or on the packaging.

• Question about multimedia keys on Satellite P300-23F

  I would like some information on the "enlightened ones" touch key on the top of the keyboard. What tool or application is responsible for leash work or configure. I have upgraded my laptop from Vista Home Premium, Ultimate, and had of course download and install all the drivers and utilities separately.
  The only thing of leaks are these keys. I'm not seucceeded to let them work. I installed VAP, Assist etc.

  At first, I must say that there is no difference between Vista Home Premium and Ultimate. All Toshiba tools are designed to be used for all versions of Vista. So if you install all the stuff from the download page of Toshiba you should have the same State as the original preinstalled Vista Home Premium. Tools and utilities are the same, and also features are absolutely identical.

  All that you have done is just. VAP is package and contains requests for follow-up:
  -Toshiba components pilot common
  -Toshiba Utilities
  -Toshiba PC Diagnostic tool
  -Toshiba Power Saver
  -Toshiba Button support
  -Toshiba zooming utility
  -Toshiba Flash cards

  Please also install Toshiba HWSetup. There you can find the option to turn on/off illumination.

  All other buttons should work with Windows media player. You can also make them work with Winamp but there is another theme. If you want to know how to let me know.

  I checked the manual of the user of the Satellite M70-148 and according to this manual, the keyboard offers 2 windows special keys that have a special function in Windows XP.   Value added contains several applications:
  -Toshiba components pilot common
  -Toshiba Utilities
  -Toshiba PC Diagnostic tool
  -Toshiba Power Saver
  -Toshiba Button support
  -Toshiba zooming utility
  -Toshiba Flash cards

  So as you can see, the button support is included in this package. I don't know what the problem is on your laptop, but when the VAP is installed correctly the multimedia buttons and Flash cards should work correctly.

  Try again please remove VAP system, restart the computer and install the latest version available. This latest version works well on the different laptop models (on my Satellite P200D too) and it should work on your too.

  Well, what to say if I understand your question you didn t make a new, clean install Vista, but you tried to upgrade the full XP to Vista.

  I don't wonder that this doesn't update good conduct and that you get notifications on the tools and driver compatibility issues.

  The fact is that many drivers, tools and utilities that are designed for the operating system XP don t run on the Vista operating system. That is why it s necessary and desirable to remove any programs that are not compatible with Vista!

  In my opinion, you must perform a clean installation of Vista, and then you can download and install all the drivers Toshiba Vista required and utilities.

  I own a pre more on Verizon. I read the numerous posts describing problems with the difficulties of keyboard key. What I haven't seen is a solution to the problem. Personally, the size of the keyboard is OK. On an untrusted key issues are driving me crazy. The key to worse on my Pre + is the key 'e' and a few others, mostly on the top row of keys. First of all, I press anything, again, maybe nothing or several entries of 'e', the 'y' is the second bad. Same questions. ANYONE done anything to solve this problem?

  I did the test on the keyboard. The 'e' key was the only one who still cannot be displayed to the press. It would be displayed to the press of 2nd or 3rd.

  Assuming all your screens green are approximately the same, you can copy the filter of the first for the other executives. Highlight the window effect 'control the effect', press control + c, highlight the target executives and press Ctrl + v. The problem will be if the green screens are too different.

  BINARY_FLOAT and BINARY_DOUBLE types are designed to store floating-point numbers. If you generate synthetic primary keys using a sequence, you generate integers. It is absurd from a point of view to store data from integer to floating point fields of data modeling. And it is exceptionally dangerous if a value is rounded up unexpectedly (floating-point numbers lose precision for the bits from the right)

  You need to specify, for me, that means more "useful for indexing. The extent of the storage space is going, there may be some space savings using a BINARY_FLOAT and BINARY_DOUBLE types if you have very large values of primary key, but there will be a penalty of space for values generated by a more 'normal' sequence, i.e.

  So it takes 8 times the storage to store a 1 in a BINARY_FLOAT and BINARY_DOUBLE types it does to store in a column for the NUMBER. But it takes less space if you store values such as 1e20 (1 to 20 of 0). If you store values large enough to get the benefit of space, however, you're going to have rounded up questions that will result in the application not to function, as you can imagine is probably a much bigger problem than a bit of disk space wasted.

  It's really not easy to say why this is happening. The only thing you can try is to reinstall the OS using the recovery CD.

  In my opinion it shouldn't happen if the unit is a new brand. Please contact your dealer and ask him if you can have another. You paid for a new product and it should work properly.
