Question about upgrade memory on Satellite 2140 (PS241C-2PW9XP)

I want to improve my memory up to 1 GB and I have a stick of pc3200 533.
I wonder if it would be ok or should I specifically pc2700?

Thanks :)

Hello

You can try the stick, I think that the stick will be low clock of 200 Mhz frontsidebus (PC3200) to 166 Mhz (PC2700) and should run flawlessly.
If you encounter errors with this stick, it would be useful to put some original toshiba RAM pc2700 inside.

To quickly answer your question: Yes. :)

Welcome them

can you please recommend what to do? I want to make my satellite m55-s1001 run faster please let me know, what do you recommend: 512 MB or 1 GB of memory? I'm not familiar with updates so please help!

    Hello

First of all, if you want to go for fastest laptop, you should start with simple things.
Try to defragment the disk, turn off the background process is not necessary, etc.
Upgrade memory will the powerful laptop and of course a lot more quickly.

To my knowledge the Satellite M55 should support the bars of memory 2 x 1024MB, and I also recommend the use of 1024MB instead of 512 MB module.

  • Question about upgrade memory

Need advice on upgrading memory. I recently decided to upgrade my current memory 256 MB to 512 MB by adding an another 256 in an empty slot. My question is when I install the memory, I have to do something in the BIOS, or the system will automatically recognize the newly introduced memory.
    Thank you

    Hi Roohbir,

You have to change anything in your BIOS because the POSITION normally detects the available RAM modules. I would recommend watching the BIOS during the initial boot process to ensure that the new memory is found.

Soory if you already that, but please make sure that you clear yourself of any static build-up before touching your RAM modules. They are very easy to damage with a discharge of static electricity.

    Good luck with your upgrade.

  • Question about upgrading memory on the Satellite L20-181

    Hello

The recommended minimum is memory for Windwows XP 256 MB and I don't understand how the company could get far notebook sale with integrated graphics with 256 MB shared system memory.

In any case, I want to improve my Toshiba and my intention is to buy 512 MB more memory, such as http://www.orcalogic.co.uk/asp/prodtype.asp?prodtype=20049&ft=m&st=3

Will it work properly with 768 MB or I will only buy the same pair: 256 + 256, 512 + 512?

    Thank you very much.

    Hello

First of all, you are not right. Windows XP also works with the low value of the memory.
But of course it depends on memory so the OS applications will run more rapid or slower.

However, the fact is that you can upgrade the memory on your laptop and it doesn't mater if the modules have the same value of memory or not.
In this case, the laptop came with 256 MB and you can install detox the second module of 512 MB memory.

PS: I recommend installing the 512 MB in the first slot and the 256 MB in the second Bank.

  • Question about upgrading memory on the Satellite A210-127

    I upgraded my memory form 2 GB (2 x 1 GB) 4 GB (2 x 2 GB) with two modules of memory Kingston KVR667D2S5 / 2G (PC2-5300 CL5).
For two weeks, he had no problems, but then I got the blue screen every time when the system starts making reference to I guss memory error.
I tried to replace the memory with original Toshiba but still blue screen modules. I conctacted service and they say that
It may be the incompatibility of memory, virus or malfunction of the hard drive.
After a few days of work on the solution I reinstal my laptop Toshiba DVD and replace the original brief. Now everything works fine.

I wonder is Kingston memory cause of my problem or somethig else?
Nobody knows is memory Kingston KVR667D2S5 / 2G 2 Gb compatibile with Toshiba?

    Hello

Honestly, the Kingston offers products of high quality and, I think, you are the first person who complains of Rams from Kingston.
If you visit the page Web of Kingston you can find a list of compatible RAM. Your module is listed here?

    The question is...

I want to upgrade my portable computer system memory 3 GB DDR2 (800 MHz) RAM to 4 GB of RAM DDR3 (1066 MHz), which is compatible or not?

    Respect,
    enteoana

    Hello

In my opinion, you should follow specification not Intel and Toshiba. S Toshiba of info is based on own tests and facts.
So, depending on the specifications of Toshiba for the GM45 Chipset it is clearly written:

    Min(on Board) wheel capacity - DDR2 800 MHz 0 MB / 8 GB max
    Type of extension of memory - DDR2 800 MHz 1 GB/2 GB/4 GB
    Type of module - SO-DIMM

So if Toshiba write about 800 MHz modules, you must use the modules to them and not faster.
You may be able to use faster too, but they do not work with the maximum speed, but not going down to 800 MHz.

If you want to use max RAM amount use recommended and tested 2 x 2 Go DDR2-800 (PA3669U-1M2G).
Indicated as compatible RAM, 4 GB DDR2-800 (PA3670U-1M4G).

  • Question about upgrading CPU for Satellite A30 104?

    Hello

My Satellite A30 104 recently came at the end of its warranty and had to open the heatsink for cleaning, and seeing that the CPU was available, I wonder if there should be (likely) to upgrade.

The processor is a Celeron 2.6 GHz (Northwood). I'm no more grunt, I would prefer a more low-power chip, while the cache L2 much bigger of a Pentium 4 is also desirable. I would be very grateful if someone could give advice if upgrades are likely available, and if so the chips would be appropriate? If I can give any more useful technical information, please ask.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

Usually it s not advisable to upgrade the CPU on laptops, because no one can tell if the laptop runs correctly and stable after the upgrade.
The heat and the temperature inside the laptop could be a serious problem.

In any case, I think that the laptop supports an Intel 852GME chipset.
    http://www.Intel.com/products/chipsets/852GME/index.htm

The Intel 852GME chipset is optimized for the Mobile Intel Pentium 4 processor, has a main bus at 533 MHz and up to 2 GB memory DDR 266/333/200 at high speed.

    But I'm not sure about m making it s 479 or 478

  • Question about video memory on Satellite L30-113

    Hello

I have a Satellite L30-113 and I managed to install a driver (I am learning how to in this forum, thx) for the video card, which allows me to change the size of the memory, what video card can be used. Configure the size of the (UMA) memory of 256 MB (including 128) properties, then in the properties of that memory for the graphics card is display 512?

My question is that the size 512 memory is real? Video card really use this amount of memory or is unreal? If so is it better to go back to 128 (then in properties is 256), not to waste this memory for nothing.

I know the les specifications specifications from the manufacturer, said 'max 256 memory hyper', but my question again: why in the properties I have the memory size: 512 MB?

Thank you in advance, best regards.

No, 512 MB is not true. The maximum size of video memory is 256 MB, but I do not know why your system shows 512 MB. If you set the video memory up to 256 MB performance will be no higher. Do not waste this memory to change anything back to 128 MB.

  • Equium A100 - 02L: Question about upgrade memory to 4 GB

    Hello.

The time has come to upgrade my laptop, but I don't know how to get the full 4 GB of RAM in it.

Toshibas page for this computer says I have 4 GB, but also that its two memory locations only consist with maximum 1024 MB card. Is the only feasible supplement by vista ready boost or something?

The vehicle currently has two 512 MB 667 mhz pc5300' cards inside.

Please help me... I am looking to order these items very soon and I don't want to buy something that does not work.

    Thanks in advance.

I found the info you can increase the RAM to 4 GB. You have to buy 2 X 2 GB RAM modules.
So now the question is what OS you use, because 32-bit Vista recognize 3 GB only.
    Just for info: http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB82022E0000R01.htm

  • Question about upgrade memory in an Equium A100 027

    Hello

I have a laptop A100-027 Satellite with 2 x 512 MB of RAM installed. I would like to add additional memory.

I have used Crucial (www.crucial.com) Web site to scan my system and recommend the memory modules. According to Crucial the A100-027 support 2 x 2 GB modules giving 4 GB total.

However, a quick search using Google suggest I can only install modules of 2 x 1 GB (2 GB total).

    Can someone please clarify.

    Thanks in advance,

    Stephen

No, guys. The machine can be upgraded up to 4 GB, since the chipset is capable of handling 4 GB of RAM.

This means that you need to place 2 x 2 GB into the slots in the machine and you will have your upgaded system. :)

One of my machines is an A100 (Europe-, but it doesn´t any country, chipset is the same worldwide) and I ve upgraded to 4 Gig Ram kingston.

    I hope I could help...

    See you soon

  • Question about upgrading memory

    Hello

I have a HP G62 Notebook pc with 3 GB of ram. I want to upgrade my memory to the maximum which I believe is 8 GB.

Is this possible? Is there a question I might encounter? Also, what would be the part number to buy it.

    Thank you

    SO-DIMM DDR2 - 800 like this:

    http://www.Amazon.com/memory-Pavilion-entertainment-dv7-1448dx-arch/DP/B009H4AZ7I

    http://www.memorystock.com/memory/HewlettPackardPaviliondv71448dx.html

Max is 2 x 4 GB total = 8 gig. Memory is behind the door of fat on the bottom.

Such things got stupid expensive, incidentally.

On the Forum, it is customary to mark an answer "Accept as Solution" if it solves the problem because then it gets indexed and is easier for others to find in the future if they have the same problem.

    Thank you.

  • a question about upgrading memory CF for Cisco 3745

As we know, the cisco 3745 has 2 locations CF. memory One is internal with a 32 MB of memory by default CF card, another one is external.

    My question is:

1 is the same as the internal memory card CF CF external memory card?

    2. If I choose the upgrade of the plant CF memory from 32 MB to 128 MB, which slot will be used? Cisco remove the memory of 32MB CF card and install a new 128 MB card in the internal slot or simply add an additional CF memory card through the outside slot?

    Thank you!

    Hello

the reference for the internal and external numbers are different, which suggests that they are not compatible. So you will have to specify what you want to, for example, MEM3725-32U128CF (which is the internal upgrade) or MEM3725-128CF-EXT (which is the external upgrade).

In all cases, internal and external cards are not cumulative, in order to get e.g. 128 MB flash, you must either internal, or external card with these 128 MB:

    Q. can partition you the internal Cisco 3700 Series Compact Flash card and the card Compact Flash external to combine or separate them?

    A. No, you cannot join two separate Compact Flash cards or you can their partition.

  • Question about upgrading RAM on Satellite P100-423

    Hello

can someone reassure me I'll buy the correct RAM and the best for my 2 Satellites. One is the P100-423.
The other is Satellite Pro P100.

    (1) can I use modules of PC2 5300 DDR2 SO-DIMM 200 pin - 667 Mhz on both computers.
I want to buy chips to 4 x 1 GB (all the same), so both will have 2 Gig ram PC.

    (2) I saw the bullets above with 533 Mhz, but told me I can use or 667 Mhz. Is this correct?
667 Mhz would be faster and better is not it?

    (3) some chips are also designated PC2 - 4200 - instead of PC2-5300. Again, I can use either?

    (4) Finally, I always thought that it was better for if adapt to 2 memory chips to live the same size - that is why I want to use 2 x 1 GB chips.
    Yet, I was recommended to mount 1 x 1 and 1 x 2 GB in each pc.
I know that IE a total of 4 GB is theoretical only 3.25 GB is possible.
But asymmetric training will offer much greater performance on balance training 2 x 1 GB. ?

Thank you very much for all the advice offered

    Robert

With the help of RAM slower is possible. I have another laptop to work with the iso 4200 5300. It works ok.

However, using the exact speed is better because it gives the best performance. Your system calendar is set on those memories.

However slower modules, but more RAM still will give you better performance.

3G seems to be the max for Vista-32. The imbalance is obviously not optimal, but I expect that the performance is better with 2 GB.

  • Question about upgrading memory on a 490 CDT

    Hi, guys.
This is going to sound really stupid, but I bought a key of 64 meg of RAM to add to the 64 meg that was already in my laptop, I just bought the laptop a few days ago).
I followed the manual instructions to remove the palmrest and I can see the module memory, just sitting there laughing at me, but I don't see where would be a memory stick upgrade.
The manual says I can add the stick I have but all he seems to be saying is that... "There is a socket for expansion" with no idea where to find it.
    Any help appreciated.
    Steve

    Hello

normally when you have followed the instructions of the Manaual you should see the 2 RAM slots. We're free to upgrade, but if it has been upgraded in the past, ca change you only the former against your module!

If you have problems, you should call Service Toshiba partner or ask your dealer and ask if they can help you!

    Goodbye, TOK

  • Question about upgrading RAM on Satellite Pro A100

    Hi all

I have a Satellite Pro A100 PSAACE I want to upgrade. I currently have 1 GB of RAM in two 512 MB modules. I looked on Crucial.com and he says I need DDR2 PC2 4200 module (240 pin DIMM), but of course, they want to sell their own stuff that only comes in 1 GB modules.
So, what is the maximum amount of RAM my computer can take? I would like to have more than 2 GB in order to make my page file smaller. Is 2 GB maximum I can put in?

To be honest, I read several threads where people were not so happy with the RAMs from crucial. In my opinion, you should spend your laptop with 2 x 1 GB RAM. With 2 GB of RAM, your laptop will work fine and I'm sure you'll be happy with it.

As recommendable modules, you must use either 1 GB (PA3411U-2M1G) or module recommended by Kingston.
