  Hello, I have two questions regarding windows 8 backup (office). I just bought a new laptop hard drive WD to use for the backup of my computer. Until I plug it to my computer, are there recommendations on what to do for any software that could be on this drive. In previous portable drives that I used, when I plug in they usually form any software that is used for the default backup. According to me, a mark was memeo. I would avoid any conflict with the windows backup software that is part of windows-8, so I ask for advice before I plug this new drive.

  The second issue is that I probably backup my computer so that I can do a clean install of my OS of windows 8. What is the best way to prepare my hard drives so that I get the best possible instillation? The instillation of my previous is considered to be defective and I don't want to wear one of these errors in the new instillation. It would be appreciated also all the tips on how to deal with the backup for this project and transfer my files on the computer. Uses the best utility to backup windows to do this, or is there another type of software I should use? Thank you.

  So the question is if a time machine backup was cut by a stop - is there a point where it would cause problems with the next on power.

  (I noticed that on a power which had a problem - time Annex machine backup was for the same time that commissioning - and I had stop watch at the same time I started up the next day)

  Issues of time machine were related to my problems with Finder/Spotlight.

  I put the drive time machine in the private domain of Spotlight.

  A ran a disk check - no problem

  Went into the preferences of time machine and instead of just turn on--changed the drive -.

  time machine turned on

  forced a return to the top

  Entered time machine - deleted the backups of an IPHOTO library which had damaged (had deleted from the hard drive)

  Time Machine works fine

  It looks like nothing is everything

  Recently by doing some interviews I found something strange, almost a week ago, I did a backup image of the system disk. Today, I was looking for the backup image, it seems there is no picture, as you can see on the screenshot attached No.1 he says there are no backups saved to this location, so I clicked on "select another backup...". "but nothing has been found as you can see on the screenshot No. 2, but it is still there on this disc 'G' as selected on the screen n ° 3.

  This image is useless? Shell I have delete and make a new one?

  This problem may occur if the backup system image files is not created correctly or may be corrupted.

  I suggest you try again to create the system image backup and check if it helps.

  I had another question about restoring from backup to cold. My database is in noarchivelog mode and after that take a consistent backup of cold, all I have to do is restore the backup right? -Why I got this question is because: when I save my control to trace file, I see statements like this: -.

  -disc. The log files from each branch can be used for
  -re - create the folders of the incarnation.

  It is a generic message in trace control file. It's not affect you.

  I have a question about cold backup. We have a sun server which will be completely rebuilt because of a few hardware problems. This is dev. DB and noarchivelog mode. I have the cold backup of databases. (all control files, data files and I also copied redo log files)
  but the restore operation said that, for the restoration of the database that only the control and data files must be restored and redo log files should not be restored. My question is: in this case how oracle will find redo log files online? because the server is rebuilt, in redologs online directory, there will be no files, so it works?
  I mean I should give the recovery of database until cancel but oracle will create the new files logs by himself again?

  Why do a "recovery" at all? In the case of the OPs, it indicates that there is a cold backup, including the redologs. Why not just "restore" all files to their original location on the rebuilt server and start the database?

• Questions after the hard drive recovery. No longer can run backups or disk defragmentation.

  This weekend I had a problem with my C: drive. It is in the format of RAID and replace one of the disks. However, I had some problems during reboot and had to use the installation disk to recover.   Most of the questions is network... and the error messages may not clearly identify between a network and disk problem problem.

  In Europe the warranty period may be 2 or 3 years by law.

  Certainly if you have AppleCare on a supported product... computer, ipad, or apple TV the TC will be replaced by Apple under warranty. Just explain your problem to them.

  If you do not have access to the warranty or replacement.

  I highly recommend that you check your drive TC if there is nothing on what you need... then do a single pass low level format. It's utilitarian airport disk tab Archive is here... then the clear operation.

  It is a low level disk format. (Don't bother with 7 and never even dream of using 35).

  If the problem persists when you restart the backup I suspect network problems... or the TC is a failure... mine (a 3rd in 3 years) comes from the same way... I pulled the drive and replaced it with a better brand than the basic model known problem seagate used Apple.

  Hello, all.

  I searched Apple communities and various other forums for some time to find the answer to this question, but nothing helped. No other similar to that recorded problem helped.

  My problem is the following:

  I got my old iPhone 3G iOS 3.1.2 because it had become unbearably slow.

  I went to backup my iPhone 'News' and received the error.

  Ridicule me. I forgot to remove the old backup iOS 4.2.1. iTunes > Preferences > devices > remove.

  Tried to backup again. Same mistake.

  I opened the backup to ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/and folder found a file with the UDID even as my phone. Delete!

  Still the same error.

  I tried the repair of backup program decipher without result.

  I repeated steps countless times. Once again, without success.

  I deleted all the files in the backup directory, here again, nothing helps.

  I emptied the Recycle Bin. Guess what? Still no backup.

  I'm out! What can I do to get backups works again!

• Photos disappeared with the backup

  Please help me! I took some pictures yesterday but I quickly ran out of space on my phone, so I have deleted many apps, so I could continue to take them. Later, when I got home, I made a backup to iCloud and then deleted all of my iPhone so I could restore it and win some space. But when I restored it the phone almost all of my pictures were gone, it doesn't show until May 18.

  I had most of the photos on my selection but I didn't download anything to her after June 16. The only really important stuff was yesterday and the day before.

  All photo recovery software are paid and very expensive, so I won't use it. I consulted the backup folder on my iPhone via my computer and changed all .jpeg files, but all the photos are mixed and I don't think that those of yesterday is there either. Strange thing is: there are photos of like three days ago and since today, BUT THE TWO DAYS THAT QUESTION AREN'T THERE.

  Please please please help me I don't know what to do. And just to let you know, if you're curious, or while the pictures were as cute selfies or an evening with friends, know that it was pictures of the arrival of the Portuguese team after Euro 2016, we won! Proud to be Portuguese, but I kind of want that my pictures back :/

  I have a MacBook Pro MGXA2 and I used time machine for the first time for the backup of the stuff, but after completing the course, my Windows boot option missing from the start menu

  Now I have MACINTOSH HD and a new option named: option to START EFI!

  in disk utility, I have a Macintosh HD and BOOT CAMP

  boot camp disk is always seen in utility dish! I have many pic in the bootcamp drive

  now the questions:

  How can I access inside the car of bootcamp to retrieve my files from disks in windows?

  is it possible to bring back the old windows boot camp player option to the boot menu?

  1. You can access your Windows partition with Finder. Simply open a new Finder window in OS X and the access to your Windows partition (often called "BOOTCAMP").
  2. Out of curiosity, what happens if you choose 'Boot EFI'? Note that newer Macs run Windows in EFI mode, so maybe Windows still works.

• After that I restored the backup Thunderbird using Mozilla Backup, any of my accounts table. I checked that they are in need of backup, lift the mail.

  I backed up my 24 Thunderbird using Mozilla Backup. I did what I had to change one of my accounts. After making the changes, I decided to restore the backup I took. Restore seems to work and I checked the profile is correct and e-mail accounts are in the mail folder. However, when I run Thunderbird, only the Local folder is displayed, any of my email accounts. I really need to get this working I have very important data in the email. Thanks for your help.

  Did you change the path where the mail files?

  And, you use local folders in the GUI of TB to store messages?
  Did not have that clearly in your post.

  According to what you actually did Re: evolution of the accounts, & if the backup has been restored in the way (profile) accounts (and the profiles.ini file) think they are in. if the profile is now in a different path, you will need to change the path in the file profiles.ini to reflect the correct path.

  Also, sometimes after restore or do other work, the *.msf files in e-mail files get damaged or simply confused. The .msf files are in the same folder as the Inbox, sent, etc.. They are the index files - not electronic mail storage files. (the mail storage files do not have extensions).

  Often, when the email that actually exist in the mail files does not show in the accounts, remove only files *.msf in each acct mail storage file will correct it. This is the easiest step to try, but again - it depends on actions leading to the question.

  They will be recreated when TB restarts & apparently can "fix" themselves, to redisplay stored messages. Unless something on current storage files is corrupted.

• Advice on restoring the backup

  Hi all, I have a question which has been concerning me for awhile and I would like to apologize in advance if it's too complicated.

  I had an iPhone 4S since 2013, but he broke in December. Fortunately, I had a spare iPhone, a new 4 s in my house, I started to use, after restoring a recent backup of my old iPhone.I iCloud has encountered some problems at the beginning (everything was properly recovering, but after you remove stuff, everything seemed in order).

  After a few days, however, no were not yet downloaded a few applications and the iPhone told me that my storage is full costantly, which seemed weird because I never had storage problems and I even deleted most of my media during restore.

  After connecting this new iPhone to iTunes, I discovered the problem. My iPhone earlier had a storage of 16 GB, it had 8 gigs.

  I transferred all my data, which was probably more than 10 concerts, an 8 GB iPhone, which was actually 5.4 GB available (because of the space occupied by the firmware)

  I thought I found my problem, but after the removal of a few more things, the storage was ALWAYS full.

  At this point, I just dropped: this iPhone worked anyway horribly, and I lived two weeks with an iPhone complete, able to do almost anything, knowing I would soon buy an iPhone 6s with more storage. This would have solved the problem.

  The thing is, when all this happened, I was afraid I might have a few data corrupted, since I had MORE of a Go to 'Other' on my iPhone from iTunes. Search the Internet, however, I soon discarded this idea because I thought that all the other sections of my iPhone Storage makes a sort of sense.

  He made some kind of sense, until tonight.

  I finally ordered my iPhone 6 s, and waiting for what happens, I thought I'd do an iTunes backup of all the files on the iPhone 4s, I need to trasfer on the iPhone 6 s.

  Before the backup, the "Storage" section on itunes still makes sense, even if the 1 GB of "other" still confused me (other sections of big were 2gbs of apps, with 31 apps and 1 GB of photos. I swear I deleted everything that I REALLY don't need)

  Once the backup is complete, iTunes tells me I have 5.4 GB of "Other"... which, on an 8 GB iphone... IS ALL THE AVAILABLE STORAGE.

  ALL my storage was 'Other' and still is, according to itunes.

  At this point, I don't know what to do. Should I transfer this backup in the new 6 iPhone and see what happens? Risk transfer of corrupted data if I do?

  Should I install the 6s as a new phone and try to transfer everything manually? (I don't really know how to transfer things like chat to whatsapp and normal text messages logs, but... If I'd prefer restore from a backup)

  Can I correct the situation on my iphone 4S before setting up my 6s? (I have yet to receive)
