Hello toegether.

We use the Web Client, and we must use the vSphere for Netapp customer and other tools.

Now - on my client and another - the left with all virtual machines window refreshes all few seconds.

"does" not allow this client.

is it possible to "stop" this refresh?

Thank you

Hello

Try the procedure described in this article:

Hello! I'm not sure if this question goes here or not, if not could someone move it to the right forum? Thank you

IM pretty new to VMWare, but have a number of hosts running ESXi 4 and 5.0, each is a separate host managed by the vSphere client. We recently received a new server and installed ESXi5.5 to findout we vSphere Web Client to manage the virtual machines. My question is can I use a web client of vSphere to monitor multiple physical hosts?

Our facility is 4 physical hosts all versions the ESXi running, all independent - nothing fancy. We also have a San with two physical hosts in a cluster off site in another data center (a different IP address connected via WAN). This host is configured with the Id like to, at least temporarily, where I want to manage the new vSphere web ESXi5.5 Server client. Is this possible? I get errors when adding it.

    Thank you!

You can manage everything from a single Web Client vSphere since all hosts are added to vCenter and hosts are compatible with your server vCenter... you must ensure all the required ports are open through your WAN link. To configure a new Web Client vSphere you still need a compatible version of vCenter.

  • Workstation / ESXi question - force vSphere Client to enter the CD-ROM drive

This week I started to develop a practical system at home for me to learn VMware administration and systems.

I installed ESXi 5 and Windows 7 Workstation 8, which is located in Windows Server 2008 on a server Dell T - 410 have a physical CD/DVD ROM drive.  In Win 7 I have the vSphere client installed and I get successfully to ESXi to manage and install other operating systems, which is where I'm stuck.  Note that, in my computer, I can take my Win 7 OS and in my computer has chosen to "eject" the drive with the OS I want to install.

I am trying to install several virtual machines and have created two "containers" / "stubs" for these virtual machines (a Red Hat and a Win 2008 Server) but cannot get the vSphere Client interface to take control of the drive and pass it to the open Console.

It is quite a matrix in the area of the drive options that is available.  What is the secret to be able to do this correctly, because all the videos I watched on YouTube where they are installing a system shows the OS that they install will ESXi very easily after choosing the CD/DVD-ROM drive... time to enter work station, which is where I'm NOT.

How do I properly set up my CD/DVD-ROM drives in my computer so that ESXi installs the operating system?  I chose each drive letter and the option available but are unable to install the operating system.

    Thank you

Yes, thats why I said what I did, and also because it's been a while since I've run ESXi in a VM and when I did I think the only way that I could install the operating system in a virtual machine when ESXi is a virtual computer was too use ISO images, which, of course, since it's my preference anyway it did not matter.  Now I only mention this because I don't remember for sure and using pictures is really the best way to go anyway.  Also, I don't have time to install ESXI in a virtual machine and go through the motions again.

  • old question: where to get the latest version of the vSphere client

    Hello

    I reinstalled my W7 SP1.

I need to access ESXCi 4 host couple and 4.1

The customer I have in my backup is probably ESXi 4 (always a update option when starting installation).

As you understand that this client cannot be successfully installed on W7 sp1.

    I get famous:

    ---------------------------
    Could not connect
    ---------------------------
Error analysis of the file "clients.xml" Server "172.20.32.192".

Logon will continue, contact your system administrator.
    ---------------------------

I found a few long threads about this at the suggestion of delete MS KB... I doh't see this KB under updates installed in my W7 (probably due to the SP1).

I would like to install the client in the normal way. Please provide a link to the latest version of the vSphere client that will allow access to my boxes.

It cannot find in the section download vmware.com

    THX.

    Michael.

You can also get it from https://ESXiHOSTNAME/

  • Table of vSphere not visible from vsphere client

I am new to vmware, so apologoes in advance for the newbie questions.

It is a new HP ML350 server with 4 x 900 GB drives configured as a single raid 5 ldev. When I connect win7 via vmware vsphere client to add a data store, there is nothing to choose. Have I missed a step or something?

OK, problem solved. To solve another problem, Support HP had me use the switch on the motherboard to reset the configuration. After the reboot, I got a data store!

  • vSphere Client Ip address/host name

Hello, newbie here.  I downloaded the vSphere client and in the process of setting up it request a host name or IP address in order to directly manage a single host.  I have no idea what hostname or IP address is it refers to.

Thanks to all those who will respond to this newbie question.

Yes, your esxi install on any of your virtual machine in your VMware Workstation during installation, you will get the details to specify a static ip address and once installed, when you want to manage this esxi in your vsphere client, that you must use the same username ROOT and password defined during installation and the IP address to connect through your vsphere client.

Please mark this as correct/useful if that answers your query.

  • logging of errors in vsphere client with the domain credentials

I have a 5.5 esxi host managed by 5.5 vcenter.

I need enable a domain user to be a power user on the host, but don't have access to other hosts managed by the vcenter, so I added their domain account to the permissions tab on the host as a power user.

I want him connect directly to the host by using the client Vsphere and Vcenter not connect at all.

However, when he tries to connect to the host using the host name, it gets the error:

"cannot complete the connection due to a bad user name or password"

I added myself to the host as a power user and I get the same error

I have added my name from AD domain host, added an entry in my DNS, more I added a domain suffix to the host.

    No change.

I can log in as root to the host through the vsphere client.

What Miss me in this Web of permissions?

    THX

I had already joined the domain of the host and adding the user directly didn't work.

I finally called in Vmware and has technical support do that too many questions.  Finally, he created a role group on the host via the Vsphere Client containing the options I needed for this user and it worked.

  • VCAP-dca web client or vsphere client

wonder for vcap-dca exam, specifically require a candidate to use web client or vsphere client?

VCAP Simulator shows using vsphere client but plan shows the two under Tools for each objective.

No, you can use either.  I know about the 5.1 VCAP-DCA I only used the VI-Client.  As long as the question they ask you installation is configuration bit is important if you use the VI-Client, Web Client or CLI to do.

  • Connection to the client with VSphere ESX host makes me download the old version of the VSphere client

    Welcome the OS Version: 5.1.0 - 2013

Question: When I connect to my guests with the VSphere client it forces me to re-download the VSphere client. As you can see from the attached PDF there pretty much all installed versions. Yet, he's trying to go to vsphereclient.vmware.com to try to download again (which cannot because it is on a closed network). It is meaningless to me, as you can see I have all versions of the installed client. My boss who also has the same installed versions can connect. Actually, I installed 5.1 client so that should be enough. VSphere shows the host to 5.1.0 - 2013.

Why is this not with my Vsphere client?

Looks like your Client vSphere is version 5.1.0b (source: Match VMware vCenter 5.1 component Versions |) Virten.NET) and your ESXi host is version 5.1 Patch 4 (KB VMware: Products VMware correlating build numbers to update level )

You need download the vSphere Client 5.1 update 2 version to directly connect to this host.

  • vcops presents in vSphere client but not in vSphere Web Client

Question for you.  I just installed vCOPs for demo in our environment, and I'm having a problem seen in the web client.  I am able to see it in real vSphere Client with all registered vcenters, but this isn't the best way to use the tool.  I use Chrome verstion 34.0.1847.116.  I also tried in IE.

By using the web client of vSphere vCOPS isn't built the way but he is in the thick client.  In the client heavy, you have a plug-in, that you click and it basically gives you the web console window in a tab.  There is nothing like this for the Web Client.  If you click on an object, you can see the health of this object and so forth.  If you want to watch as you see in the thick client but you will need to connect to the user interface for vCOPS self https://vcops-ip/vcops-vspheremeaning.  Or if you look on the homepage of the web client, you can see under surveillance, you see the vCOPS icon and which will bring you to the login page.

  • Unable to connect to esxi using the vsphere client

    Hello friends,

    I need a little help.

a 2 5.0 esxi host and a vcenter than VM.

My laboratory worked well for days, but all of a sudden do not know why I am not able to connect to ESXi hosts with vSphere Client.

Error: The request failed because the remote server has taken too long to respond.

Call "ServiceInstance.RetrieveContent" to "ServiceInstance' server '192.168.1.101' object failed.

Yes, I am able to connect to vCenter server, when it is connected to vCenter and open the console of the virtual computer, nothing shows up, it's a black screen, as if the virtual machine is turned off. It is with all the virtual machines on both hosts.

    1. I thought that it might have to do something with vCenter and I tried connecting to Host individually which I wasn't able to.

After completing a few KBs on vmware and some articles, I checked the status of the firewall on both hosts. (attached screenshot)

    8-7-2013 2-11-16 AM.png

Checked if my computer can talk to esxi host on port 80, 443, 902. all ports are accessible.

Disabled the Symantec endpoint protection and checked. no positive results.

Finally, I tried the ESXi web navigation browser host http://ESXi-IP-address which redirects me to HTTPS connection with Certificate error, when I continue with the cert error, loading of the URL guard and the host page doesn't appear as it should.

This questions are on both hosts. :-(

You guys can point me in the right direction to solve this problem.

    Thank you.

    Finally things started working now.

The problem was with the configuration of the workstation's NETWORK adapter.

The link on the NETWORK adapter speed was set to Auto negotiate (default), but the speed was detected as 100 Mbps instead of 1 Gbps and MTU has been set at 9014 which I defined manually long back.

Things use to operate in this configuration that I have configured hosts with MTU 9000 and cisco SMB switch default Jumbo.

the LinkSpeed of 100 Mbps is bugging me, after changing to 1 Gbps (manual setting) the card NETWORK has deactivated, and it reminded me to switch!

So I put the LinkSpeed Auto negotiation, MTU 9014, stop the two hosts, restart the switch. restarted my computer.

Since it uses for things were in a normal state.

Even the question of the console (black screen) disappeared. :-)

  • Can I use VMware vSphere Hypervisor™ with vSphere Client?

It's the question next poped upward.

-Can I freely use for my business need VMware vSphere Hypervisor™, and what will be the difference with VMware vSphere Starter Kit?

    and

-Can I use VMware vSphere Hypervisor™ with vSphere Client software for free?

Yes - it is freely permitted, but he he has limits and lack of features compared to the vSphere Essentials kits. Another thing to note is the absence of vCenter Server to manage multiple ESXi hypervisors with the free version. The backup API are, in my opinion, one of the main obstacles to the use of this.

  • VSpher client connection?

    Hello

To make clear that I am a novice.

I installed, ESX5.1 (bare metal), [VCenter Server, VSphere Client and client VSphere Web]-> Windows 2008R2.

It is the second facility from scratch.

In my first attempt, when all them above were installed, when I tried to log in using VSphere client, I could use the AD ID and I think what he connecterd me to ESXi through VCenter.

In my second installation, I can connect via Vcenter using the Web client, using my username AD (ID of the administrator group). Everything works fine, I created data center and added ESXi.

However when I click on VSphere Client, it does not accept my AD account and it only accepts the ID of the root for ESXi

I don't know if this is what is supposed to happen?

    So the questions:

    1. in order to access ESXis using VSphere Client through VCentre, what should I do? I mentioned, that if I try to open a session using the client it does not accept AD ID

    2. How can I use webclient and no client (via VCenter)

< added some information: I renamed localhost in ESX01 ESX and he joined the field in the context of troubleshooting and client NTP is configured on ESXi, not Windows 2008R2, but Jet lag is less than 30 seconds if not less >

As I said I am new, however I am giving the foregoing experience of logical explanations.

    Thanks in advance.

    Welcome to the communities...

I don't know if I understand your questions, I tried with my awakening in response to your questions

    1. in order to access ESXis using VSphere Client through VCentre, what should I do? I mentioned, that if I try to open a session using the client it does not accept AD ID

You try to access your ESXi host or vCenter server by using AD ID?

However when I click on VSphere Client, it does not accept my AD account and it only accepts the ID of the root for ESXi

Have you checked that you access your vCenter and no ESXi host using vSphere Client?

vCenter is a management software that allows to manage ESXi host. WebClient is only available to manage vCenter server and NO ESXi host

  • vSphere Client Plugins Web - how to debug the Flex INTERFACE

    Hello:

It seems that, in order to develop, Flex at base of plugins using the vSphere Client Plugins SDK Web and get 'full integration', the developer is encouraged to use a MVC framework which is part of the SDK. In addition, I see things that seem to indicate that, once the plugin is runing in the context of the VC, actions will be triggered by the context running, etc...

It may seem that in order to develop a base Plugin, the user interface must be developed, compiled and deployed each time.

How should we do about writing a typical user interface application where the developer is able to set breakpoints, etc...? I can do it now if I do not use the hooks of VmWare, such as previously mentioned, but what if I wanted to exploit the pegs supplied?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Have you read the SDK documentation in questions before asking your new question?

    Debugging of all is possible.
