Question video FLV and Audio

I have a situation where I am loading a video (FLV) in a Video object on the stage using the NetConnection and NetStream video classes and script action. I want to know if the FLV file I load has a soundtrack or not (some movies don't) so that I can choose to play a default sound track or let the original soundtrack of the film play. Such a thing is possible?

I noticed that the NetStream object seems to have a property, once that 'play' was called, called "audioCodec. I can find no record of this property anywhere, and I wonder if it could be used to test for audio. No sound from my test scenario, and the codec is listed as 0. It would be a reliable indicator of the presence of an audio track? Is there a place I can find the list of codecs and the integers used to represent them in this property?

Thank you very much

Cree

Sorry, just found the live doc to work with metadata that informs me that flv without audio tracks return "undefined" for audio related metadata. Thanks, that should do it.

  • Keyboard shortcuts for the video Composite and Audio Waveform

I work in Premiere Pro CS6 on Mac OS 10.10.5. I am constantly switch between views video Composite and Audio Waveform in the Source monitor Panel. To do this, I have to use the mouse to click on the key icon, and then select one of the points just at the top of the context menu. My workflow would be so much faster if there was a keyboard shortcut.

The official page of default keyboard shortcuts indicates no shortcut for these menu items. Mac OS system preferences > keyboard > shortcuts [shortcuts App] allows me to create shortcuts for application specific menu items, but not for context menus.

Is there, however, a way that I can tell Premiere Pro CS6 to use a keyboard shortcut for the video Composite and Audio Waveform views?

You can create your own... If you scroll the list link you to that, there is the Source section of monitor... which has options short keyboard available for your two wishes:

Then, use Cmd / Alt + K to do your editing of the keyboard shorts... Scroll way down to find this section, then create a short. At the bottom, it will tell you if it comes into conflict with one another. Here I come to make Composite video, abbreviated as CC2015.2:

By clicking on the line to the right of the effect you want to order makes these empty lines appear the "x" you will see in this view... click again and you can start typing your proposed short. If your entry on this line is already in use, will appear this very practical warning:

So... do you some useful shorts!

  • How can I unlock video 1 and Audio 1 on the Timeline (CS5)

I'm new to using prepro so please bear with me.

When I want to insert a video clip at the beginning of the video 1 on the Timeline, existing and audio clips are static, so the incoming clip will rest at the beginning (too much riding the other), but I would like to than the other elements to move to the right, including audio in Audio 1.

Help section of the House, I read how to unlock the timeline in part as follows, '... ". for example, if you want all clips to the right to change video 1 and Audio 1 to move to the right while leaving all the audio clips 2 in place, lock in sync on the video 1 and Audio 1.

I have to lock the 2 video and/or Audio 2 (that I have nothing there). Just need to to move to the right when I insert another clip.

Use CTRL while dragging to the timeline. That will insert instead of overlay and it is quite easy to see when you look at the icon.

  • Making the best use of space for the quality by balancing the video bitrate and audio settings?

I have a few questions about the first export still / encoding in encore. I am trying to create a dvd single layer, where I maximize overall quality using as much space as possible.  The video is 97 minutes, SD 720 x 480, 29.97 FPS and consists of interviews for the most part, as well as b-roll hd cameras and stills, rare title graphic card.

    1. I can use dynamic link to send the sequence that appears to maximize the space available, however I have heard that using DL is generally frowned upon and I myself cannot tell what settings it uses (for example vbr, 2 pass, etc.). Is my interpretation that DL is not the ideal way to go wrong? If DL is just as good as a separate output, is there a way to know what parameters it uses?

    2. I used a bitrate calculator and tried a Min: 3.5 target: 5.5 Max: 8 audio output PCM and I found myself having a little more than 400 MB of unused space. When someone recommended a Min: 5.5 target: 7 output Max 8.5 the file size is too large with a simple DVD layer. I read that it is recommended to use an exit instead of PCM, if the video is over an hour audio Dolby. My question is is it a best practice to balance needs of flow rates and audio and video? I realize, of course, by using more data PCM is 'better', but it is usually best to go on the road to dolby and have more space to increase your video bitrate? What is the audio difference type that requires a high-end system to discern? Y audio data loss is worth for the benefit of video bitrate higher?

I know it's a lot, just trying to maximize space to get the best possible performance. Thanks for any help/advice you can provide.

    -Nick

As most of my videos are closer to 2 hours usually, I always used Dolby Digital, PCM takes so much space and I prefer to use this space to increase video quality.

Note that by default, if you import a .wav (PCM) file into Encore, it transcode automatically that Dolby, unless you have changed specifically the default settings of transcoding in Encore.

A decent basis for coding rule is 560/minute = bitrate, so 560/97 = 5.77 and I usually just round off a little for menu overhead and margin of safety. This requires using Dolby to 192 k, so I would use 5.6 average bitrate.

    Hello:

I see an HDMI port on the map output...

Why what happened?  The answer is that your video card has HDMI that requires a separate HDMI audio chip on the video card. So yes, your videocard DID cause it happens because the PC has picked up map video, disabled the car video (if you have an onboard video) and also disabled the audio system integrated, take on it for audio HDMI on the video card.

The solution is simple, but almost no one knows about it, so I wouldn't say it's something stupid...

Go into your BIOS. Looking for an embedded audio setting. It will be either disabled or Auto. Change the setting on " Enabled".  Save the setting here where you made the change, and again when you exit the BIOS.

When the PC restarts your integrated sound card needs to be restored, and you will also have the use of your audio HDMI when you plug an HDMI cable to your TV.

  • paste video clips and audio in the timeline (why failing A1 and V1)?

Hey guys. This is probably a simple shortcut or something I am doing wrong.

Say that I'm going to copy a piece of audio or video, I notice not always blocks V1 or A1 even if I have not currently selected.

Same thing with extraction of the ins and outs... The V1 V2 V3 highlighted on the left side do not seem to make a difference when it comes to copying and pasting or extraction. I'm a usual AVID editing system which maybe why I'm used to directing where to go the A1 and V1.

  • Audio and video clips and audio but no video on others

When I import a clip at the pool, ago also good audio and video. But when I drag the clip on the timeline, the audio is moved. I work with various clips in the same format of video, taken with the same camera and with excerpts of what is happening and with others that is not. Also on occasion it just drag audio and video. Does anyone know how to fix this? Have been looking around the forums for a while now, I can't seem to be able to find an answer.

  • Matched presets-but poor video quality and audio-PE9

I posted a few threads like this before, but the problem has not been resolved. I've adapted my film 24 p (Panasonic HDC-TM900) of 1920 x 1080 for correct presets when I start a new project. When I play the clips in the timeline panel, the quality is variable and often poor, but when I stop the video the image normally high quality. Audio sometimes cuts off. I have installed MPEG2 codec, so I don't really know what the problem is. Any help would be appreciated

You shoot on a digital SLR. You pull an AVCHD cam - and there is no support for 1920 x 1080 AVCHD 24 p in Premiere Elements.

So, Yes, you should shoot 1920 x 1080 50i if you plan to edit in Premiere Elements - AND use the AVCHD project setting.

  • Plyer Media does not support such as 3GP, FLV and Indian Radio.

Why Windows Media player does not support such as 3gp, flv video and Radio T.V Indian.

Your computer may be missing code, download and install K-lite code pack can solve the problem. K-lite code Pack is free and safe, and it includes almost every video code and audio code.

Or you can download VLC player for a trial, it supports all video files 3GP and FLV incudling, I think it's much better than windows media player.

  • HELP PLEASE! I lost about 400 GB of MP4 (film and audio book) using Chkdsk files. He repaired broken sectors/files regardless, but it changed the extentions. How can I find new extensions? they are there, but I don't know how to find them.

I have Vista Home Premium. I have a huge media collection for my ipod. I save all my video files and files on an external hard drive (my book 500 GB) audiobook while they clutter up my internal drive and so I can store them where my internal drive has failed somehow... Well I got the opposite happens. I started to get my video files would not open in their records. I ran Chkdsk utility to "fix" the files. When the program has finished running he had a Msg: something has changed the names of files and everything I was supposed to go to the files and the rear switch (as far as I can remember... I don't wear SPECIAL attention for the MSG that I thought it was normal and the program would take me to the files when it was done... ERROR. All desktop shortcuts no longer find files directly by going to my computer, then by looking at the HD I cannot find the files.  I used the program REcuva file hippo and it restores the few files that have been deleted out of the dirve and allowed to see some of the video files and audio books (but no tag info remained on the recovered files. I had to so I would like to know what they rename them). Other than these few files... less than 20 I t help either. Records that they are still there, but it asks me to open files with a program from a list of choices and not of the program draw files. (the choice to choose this high program open this type of file is also blacked out). Also when I run the cursor over the records of the size of the files do not match wat I know should be in the files. But if I just look at the my computer screen and run the cursor over the icon of the letter itself it show that there is 435 + GB hard disk info and 50 + GB of space left on it.
    A few questions:
    1. is it possible to see all the possible msg that the command chkdsk can generate so I can find that he gave me when he fixed my files?
2 - How can I find these files if I don't know the extensions I'm looking for? they were for quicktime mp4 files, but I don't know now.
3 - If the drive to my drive internal and try to list the backup files is located on the drive where I'd start trying to open the files?
4 do I just need to cut my losses and reformat the hard disk, crying over 2 years, he took me to build the library and start over again >? (at least I kept some of my files from itunes library since itune on DVD about 1.5 years ago (about 300 GB of data there))
And by the way the reader is set up to the FAT 32 format, that I did not know until this all happened.

Go to start / Control Panel / folder Options / View and uncheck Hide extensions for known file types.  You should also check the box to see the system and hidden files while you're there.  This should show you the extensions of all files if that is the problem.  You can then rename the files for extensions are associated with a program that will open and read the files (you may need to experiment first with some programs to find one that works and an extension that works if they have been changed).  I don't know any way to do this for all files at once - they will have to be renamed individually (yes - I realize counts the number of files involved, but I know of no program in Vista or even a 3rd party program that will change the extensions for a group of files at a time - you can check for yourself on www.tucows.com and www.download.com).

Desktop Shortcuts no longer work because either the file type of the source file has changed and the shortcut does not open the file, or because the file has been moved and the shortcut can not find the path.  You should be able to check the path by finding files (whatever they are now called) and see if they are in the same directories in path as they were before this happened.  I think it's because the source file works more correctly because of the extension (or corruption).

Recuva to recover lost or deleted files - not the files that are on the system (and you won't not solve your problem by deleting them and then use Recuva to recover because it sounds like the problem is with the extensions and Recuva is not going to be able to correct it (it is not part of his program)).

There's no list of ALL possible messages that might be generated by chkdsk I know.  Here is an article on the chkdsk command works in XP and some messages it generates - but far from everything and nothing look like the one you receive (and it works essentially the same under Vista): http://www.isd518.net/District/TechDir/Help/Chkdsk.htm.

The backup on your internal hard disk drive will not solve the problem - just move it.  The 'damage' to the files are already done a backup now will not solve anything.  The fact that the drive is set up in format FAT32 is not the question (and probably not the question in the first place is) and change to NTFS now is not going to solve the problem (although you can do that after all this has been resolved).

I won't tell you to cut your losses - this is a pretty drastic step and there may still be other options (although I don't know myself).  You can take the reader to a recovery expert data (NOT Geek Squad or one of these other major centres to store) which may be able to recover some, most, or all files.  It will be expensive and only you can decide if it's worth the cost.  These people usually the game fee and do not offer a guarantee of recovery - even if they don't recover anything you always pay.  The decision is yours.

If none of this works, transfer your question in images and videos Forum at: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vistapictures/threads where people who specialize in issues related to the video may be able to help with your problem, since it's video files.

    I hope this helps.

  • First milking a clip as a video with no audio

I am using first Elements 9.  I have a big video (30 GB) on my hard drive that plays fine in Windows Media Player.  There are some video and audio.  However when I add this file to my project in Premiere Elements, Premiere Elements interprets this file as the video only (i.e. the type of media in the project view is 'video' instead of 'film').  Accordingly, it has no sound when I play the clip in the first or eventually burn the video to DVD.

How can I me first to recognize this as a film, with audio and video flie?

Thanks for your all your messages and recommendations.  Your advice and suggestions helped me to find a solution, I want to share here.

First of all, NealeH helped me to recognize that my original film was recorded in 720 p, that is why the resolution is 1280 x 720.  So I created a new project in creation using AVCHD 720 p 59.94 FPS preset.  This helped me to make my video would correspond to this project, and it has eliminated the prompt that I was saying that my video does not match my project settings.

Second, the positions above helped me determine that my video clip has 5.1 sound.  When I put the movie on the Timeline, I need to make sure the audio is placed on a trajectory that is configured for a 5.1 sound.  Based on the preset that I used, that audio 1 (i.e. the "track audio main') is stereo, not 5.1.  I didn't originally, and I always put my movie on video 1 and Audio 1, thinking that the audio track will configure themselves automatically.  This isn't how it works.

I had to enlarge each audio track to see which ones is in 5.1. See the image and the little indicator 5.1 Audio 3.  If the audio of my film is placed on Audio 1, I lose the central channel.  But if I put on 3 audio, all channels are audible.  I had a hard time finding this indicator bit but once I found it, it solved my audio problems.

I still don't know how to change an existing audio track to change from stereo to 5.1, but if you select the right preset at the beginning, you can get several audio tracks and just move your audio film some track is appropriate.

Finally, my original question on this entire thread was that first do not recognize my film as a film clip (he was grateful as video only).  I don't know what caused this, but I find that if I can keep the size of movie file less 30 GB, first usually correctly recognizes as a movie (with video and audio).

  • FLV and other video format player

    Hello

I am using windows 7 Home premium. my windows media player, I want the codecs which can play all kinds of video formats like flv, and everything... where I can get these codecs... is these codecs are recommended by microsoft...?

Microsoft not created for Windows Media Player codecs separately.

Today, there are hundreds of audio and video codecs in use. Codecs have been created by other companies, organizations or individuals. By default, the Windows operating system and the player includes a number of the most popular codecs, such as MP3, Windows Media Audio and Windows Media Video.

There might be times, however, when you want to read the content that is compressed with a codec that does not include Windows or the default player. In many cases, you can download the necessary codec on the web for free or for a fee. And, in some cases, the player can automatically use the codecs installed by other reading programs and the creation of digital media on your computer.

You can download one of the famous codec from the (improved) website below.

Media Player Codec Pack V 4.1.2.setup

Support for all editions of Windows 7 and Windows Vista.

The Media Player Codec Pack is a simple to install package of codecs/filters/separators used for playback of music and video software. Compression types supported include DivX, XviD, x 264, h.264 and many AVI, MKV, OGM, and MP4 files. Supported video file types include 3GPP, AVI, MKV, OGM, MP4, MPG, MPEG, VOB, DAT, FLV, PS, TS and NUV. Types of audio files supported include AC3, DTS, AAC, APE, FLAC, TTA, WV, OGG, Vorbis, MO3, IT, XM, S3M, MTM, MOD and UMX. Please note that protected formats may require a player in particular. All versions of Windows Media Player are supported as well as most of the other players. The package supports 32-bit and 64-bit Windows versions.

What's new in this version: Version 4.1.2 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.
