• questions about iOS 10 SMS and iMessage notification

  Hi all

  Having some problems with the SMS and iMessage notification since the upgrade to iOS 10. The problem is that sometimes there is no noise or vibration or anything like that when I get a message. I will just have to pick up the phone and there is a banner on the lock screen. And until someone asks, it isn't that I was away from the phone, or I didn't hear it go off... there was just no notification. It's as if the phone was in DND (which it was not).

  The other thing is, I NEVER receive a notification when I am sent an iMessage from a sender that is the only email address (like an iPad wifi only). In this situation, my phone never plays a sound never vibrates... you open the lock screen, but there's a new banner of message sitting there... as I said before - just as the phone is in DND... which is not.

  This problem happens on mine and my wife's phone. For any help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

  Here is an update. I think I can find a solution to the problem. I used to have my "send and receive" in the messages app implemented with my phone number and checked e-mail address. I have deselected the e-mail address and have now received a notifcation for every message I've received so far. The sample size is a bit small at the moment but before this change, it is 50-50 at best.

• Sending SMS from the Defy: two questions

  I've been with the Defy for a few weeks and I love the phone, but with all the power of Android, I lack some features, that I used to have in my old classic 'Hynek '. Perhaps they are there and I just have not found, but believe me, I really look...

  Two of them are currently particularly annoying when sending SMS. Here in Brazil, the long distance dialing format includes a code of long distance provider of your choice (specifically, you must dial 0 + code of the carrier + area code + phone number). So, I added all the entries on my directory, including the carrier code which usually has the lowest rates. But this format does not work to send text messages. to do this, use + 55 (the Brazil country code) + area code + phone number. There are a couple of other formats that the carrier has properly analysis and sends the message (for example, to send messages to phones in the same area code, just without any codes work phone number), but the format used for long distance calls cannot be used.

  My old phone had a feature that allows you to modify the number before sending the message, and I used that. With the Defy, I'll have to look up the number in the phone book and type it in the appropriate format, rather than choose the contact directly here as a destination. Is there a way to change the number before sending on the Defy? I tried, but it only allows me to delete this contact or include another. I also thought to including an additional entry phone just for SMS for each contact in the phone book, but it would be too complicated.

  The second feature is the ability to set the phone to send a request for confirmation of delivery as well as the message. As soon as the message was delivered to the recipient's phone, I got a message of confirmation by the carrier. While most of the messages are provided instantly, some, especially to another carrier, or if the recipient's phone is turned off or out of coverage in time, may take longer and sometimes it is important to know if the other person actually received it. My Defy not to do and I couldn't find any configuration option to allow this. I'm on the same carrier as before, so the feature support is not a problem.

  So, anyone know of a way to change the phone number before sending an SMS and request a delivery confirmation message?

  Thank you, j0h4n. In the end, I solved both problems by simply using a different application. What I've explored, there doesn't seem to be a way to change the phone number of the addressee on the fly with the standard application, and everything by asking a delivery report is possible, he is not required by default, may not be configured to be requested by default and must be done individually for each message sent.

  But I explored the Android Market, try Handcent SMS and SMS GO and found both to be excellent. Both allow changing the number on the fly and NDRs that would be asked by default (in addition to many other interesting features). Since they have interfered with each other, I had to choose an and kept GOING SMS, I found a bit niftier to use and implemented the number editing best feature (Handcent editor a bit confused with this and I had to be careful when editing).

  Obviously, English isn't a problem for me, if not Handcent would have the head, because it is available, located in Portuguese (and many other languages), while SMS GO is only available in English and Chinese. But as it is, I liked it. I would still recommend Handcent and users should try both to see which they like best.

  After updating the OS 10.2.1.2941 on my Q5, SMS only appears in the hub and displays a white screen when accessing the SMS account.   I restarted 3 times... same power off and took out the battery for abt 5-10 minutes. still not appear in the folder "text messages" SMS.

• Question red watch SMS Simulator

  Hi all, using 2 9700 simulators under version 5 to try and test a SMS listening program. This used to work fine, but now whenever I have try and send an SMS from 1 Simulator to another, I get a red clock next to the SMS sender and I never get anything else. Like I said it worked very well. The 2nd Simulator runs from a different location than iis used during debugging. I've played around with the SMS settings (currently packs turns to 7-bit encoding) with no joy. Also shot and manage connections without joy. Mobile network take their flight simulator and data services are turned on.

  Can someone tell me what I should do to fix this please because the reset does not work either. Thanks a lot for any assistance.

  Try resetting the simulator by running the clean.bat file located in the directory of Simulator.

  If this does not help, make sure that you do not have any firewall software that blocks the ports used to send and receive SMS messages.

  Hey I got a problem with my Blackberry bold 9700. There are some messages that end up freezing and I am not able to open. And all the other messages that open, when I send an answer that I see it through and sent, but when I go back to the Inbox my message is no longer visible. Messages are permanently in the gel, and so is my folder. I can't scroll upwards or downwards to display messages. No idea how I can solve this problem.   First of all, try a reboot simple: with the phone smart BlackBerry turned on, remove the battery for a minute and then reinsert the battery to restart.

  If this does not it, open your Messages folder, press Menu > folders and access your SMS Inbox and delete the history of this user's SMS. Try to do the same thing in the SMS sending for the same user. Now, do a reboot.

  Look for the icon of the application that you can't find in the Applications folder, downloads, instant messages, one of the folders.

  Battery pull reboot is the best way to restart.

  Alternatively, you can press the ALT + SHIFT + DELETE key.

  From what I understand, the problem is with the sender. My daughter and son both sent me messages and I also had this problem. I called my son, and he corrected the call back number in his phone.

  I'm trying to understand if there is a way to (BBerry non users) by sms via BBMessenger.  I discovered how to add these contacts in my Messenger list, but when answering my test messages, I have to go to the program to read instead of just watching BBmessenger native Messenger.  I just started using BBmessenger because I heard everyone say how awesome it is, but I don't know my way around it very well yet.  I tried to look for an answer before posting, but no luck.  Thanks for any help.

• Question for users of handcent SMS

  I tried handcent twice now.  However, whenever I use it, I get 2 emails.  One in stock and one in handcent.  If I use handcent default I can read the SMS, but the icon text remains there until I can go to my messages in stock.  How can I 'disable' stock messages so that I can just receive messages with Handcent.  Thank you.
