Quick Firefox crashes

Good evening

Recently, I am facing a lot of quick firefox crash and I went through all the troubleshooting steps step, until I arrived (disabling addon-by-time, plugin by time).

The problem had been solved almost when I took (ask to activate, NOT always enable) option for flash player, which is the latest version of flash player.

I don't know if it is on the drive flash itself, or is it some kind of conflict between flash player and a few other addon/plugin that kept causing this problem.

My windows is 8.1, without virus, fully updated system and hardware is fully functional without glitches.

My question is: has anyone an idea of whether it's may be a conflict between flash player and another addon/plugin, what causes this problem? or it's all about flash player it self? *

  • As far as I know, the list of addons/plugins has been attached with this report, which can be reviewed.

Thank you guys in advance for taking the time to consider this issue...

Sometimes there is a conflict between the version of the Flash plugin and an extension which affects its content, for example a downloader or ad blocker.

It is a standard orientation which addresses the most common issues with the Flash Player plugin. I'm sure you've seen some of them before in various support articles, but just in case:

(1) If you have any recorders/downloaders who interact with Flash media to ensure that they are as up-to-date as possible, or disable them temporarily.

(2) disable graphics hardware acceleration in Firefox and Flash

(A) in Firefox, uncheck the box here and restart:

"3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Options > advanced > General > "use hardware acceleration when available.

(B) in Flash, see this article from Adobe technical support: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues

(3) disable the Protected Mode. The function has the security benefits, but it is not compatible with all systems for some reason any. You can turn it off by creating or modifying a parameter file.

The following/post pages which provide different approaches:

You will need to exit and restart Firefox before it take effect.

Any improvement?

Yep, those are reports of error ID's, but they are a bit bland - 38.0.5 for that charge very quickly.

Use help > about Firefox to trigger an update of Firefox 40.0 which has lots of Windows fixes 10 of compatibility on the previous version.

  • 36.0.1 under Windows 7 Firefox crashes on the first click, can't kill processes

After the 36.0.1 on a Windows 7 computer, Firefox crashes after the first click on a link or when you try to open a new tab. I can't kill the process from the Task Manager. Need to reboot to get rid of the process.

My attempts to solve the problem so far:

I tried on another Windows user; does not help. Still the same symptoms.

  • Firefox crashing after update - error mswsock.dll?

Since I updated to Firefox 29, several accidents have occurred. No matter what I do or what I am on the page, it happens more than 10 times in 5 minutes. The number of accidents is crazy. http://i.imgur.com/RQVjZ0m.PNG

I tried to uninstall and reinstall fees. I tried to disable all addons and extensions. I've updated my drivers on my computer and all extensions for firefox. I've updated all my anti-virus and anti-malware programs. I tried to create a new profile for firefox. I turned off hardware acceleration. Nothing works.

Firefox crashes even in SafeMode! I am at a loss at this time, and I tried to find a way to solve this problem for days.

Watch one of my crash reports, I found that the same file, 'mswsock.dll' is everyone.

    guigs2/dribblet,

So I pourrait have understood what is happening. On the bug report, it indicates that the deactivation of media.windows - media - foundation.enabled would relieve this crash report. Curious about this, I checked to see if a pref existed. He did not. Of course, I was running nothing else than to the pre-commercial versions of Firefox (nightly, Aurora) and I couldn't find the darn pref.

    Guess what? 29.0.1 has it.

    Disable media.windows - media - foundation.enabled siteabout:config

  • Firefox crash whenever I go on Youtube

    Hello. Here's the problem:

Whenever I go on Youtube, Firefox hang and I do the thing (CTRL + ALT + CANC.) to close the browser. I know that the problem is releated to Flash from Adobe because when I disable it, Youtube works, but is there another solution? (I can look with adobe flash, video to youtube on other sites, such as facebook). I have the latest version of Adobe Flash/Shockwave/Firefox. The problem also affects Aurora. (If I open a youtube page and quickly open a new window, I can play the video, but if I go back to the youtube window, the problem appears again).
PS: I can't find any article talking about it in the Mozilla page'support.

Sorry for my bad English. Mario.

The link is a page of information. You can try different settings of Firefox crash protection features. Please also try this: open the Control Panel > Flash Player, click on delete all and erase the data. This erase flash stored data and settings for sites such as allow, block etc.

  • Firefox crashes

After the update to firefox43.1 this morning (19 December), firefox is in constant crash mode. I uninstalled and reinstalled 3 or 4 times still nothing does not. When I click to open it, a minimized screen appears with two 'new tab' button located in the upper part and the start of firefox tab page (3rd from the left).

This hangs there for a few moments, then I get firefox crashed and had to close the message. What happened today at least a dozen times. It worked perfectly until this last updated and I had to download Google Chrome
just to get in line... and it sucks. I really want to come back on Firefox... Please help. I tried to attach images/screen-dumpsters and file errors, but they do not load upward.

    Thank you.

Firefox does not work at all... ?

Sorry to hear about the accident. If you get the Mozilla Crash Reporter form, your Firefox could have registered some data that would help to find the cause of the problem. You can submit these data to Mozilla and share with the volunteers of the forum to see if it points to the solution. Please check the support article "Firefox blocks - ask for help" to get the procedure to get these crash report IDs since the topic: block the page and then after the most recent here.

Note: If Firefox is not stable enough to use the subject: page crashes, the article also describes how to check for submitted crash IDs disk report.

Also, and/or at the same time, could test you mode without failure of Firefox? Which temporarily disables extensions, hardware acceleration, and a few more advanced features of Firefox that could make it more prone to crashing on some systems.

Does not work if Firefox: Hold down the SHIFT key when you start Firefox.

If Firefox is running: You can restart Firefox in Mode safe mode using either:

    • button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > restart with disabled modules
    • Help menu > restart with disabled modules

    and OK reboot.

Two scenarios: A small dialog box should appear. Click on 'Start mode safe' (not update).

Could you try starting Firefox in Safe Mode? It is a standard diagnostic tool to disable some advanced features of Firefox and extensions. More info: questions to troubleshoot Firefox in Safe Mode.

Does not work if Firefox: Hold down the option key when starting Firefox.

    Any improvement?

While you are in Mode without failure, you could copy a list of your extensions and paste them into an answer? The best place for this is the support information page - either:

    • button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > troubleshooting information
    • (menu bar) Help > troubleshooting information
    • type or paste everything: in the address bar and press Enter

Scroll down to the Extensions section, and then select from there until the end of the following table with the mouse and copy. Then paste into a response. It may seem a bit messy but don't worry, we're used to it.

  • Firefox crashes at the start even in safe mode

Firefox crashes and makes internet Explorer and also chromium at startup. Chrome works however after reintallation, but may break after a reboot.
It was produced after an update of the anti-virus (avast and avg) both demanded a restart of the computer.
I turned off the antivirus and reinstalled the browser (latest version), but it still crashes.

I think I solved the problem!

It seems to be the new version of "protection avg: zen ', it is to play with all web browsers, is not search for viruses, closes the network connection and not to repair...
So I removed it and everything seems to work normally...

Should have known that avg was problem since all the headaches began after its update.

    Thanks for all the help!
