Quick launch has LARGE icons

Recently, I had to buy a new hard drive and reinstalled Windows XP on my laptop.  After having everything set up again, I noticed that in my Quick Launch bar icons are very big and so I don't see that one or two unless I want to use a lot of precious taskbar space.  Y at - it a setting I have to change to the small icons than before.  Everything on the desktop is the size it should be.   Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Right-click on an empty area of the quick bar set. Go to view-> small icons. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

  • Double row of small icons in the Quick Launch bar?

    Hi people,

I have my Quick Launch bar set upwards with small icons (my normal taskbar has large icons).  Is it possible to do the small icons to organize in two superimposed rows?  Looks that they would take almost this way.

    Thank you!

Go to the taskbar and Start Menu properties and select use small icons.

This is an acceptable compromise for what we are looking for, but never mind, you can not the taskbar is wide enough for two rows of small icons while keeping the nice looking for large icons.

No IT Department. don't have windows blinds. We are a small company of office of 3 people. This happened when the owner bought a 21 "monitor used for my system to use 2 monitors.

He installed a map bi-ecrans $ 10 on the motherboard of Geek free store here. People make a donation of computers and they sell parts.  Good things at low cost.

I installed the drivers updated to the Board of Directors. He has installed this program of "Ultramon" http://www.realtimesoft.com/ultramon/ to do both. It worked fine and quick launch was there but he had 30-day free trial, I think it's when quick launch has disappeared.

I suspect that this is the problem. Thank you all. I'll explore this avenue more far.

  • Volume control icon has disappeared from the quick launch task bar.

How can I add volume control to my quick launch task bar? I tried dragging the icon to the taskbar, which did not work.

    Hello Hassan.

Thank you for using the Microsoft answers Forum

Start by making a right click on the taskbar, and then select Properties. Select the tab, Notification area and choose Volume under the icons in the system. That should put back your icon on the status bar at the bottom right of your screen. If she does not please repost here and let us know.

    I hope this helps!

Can someone help me with the parameter that allows you to show. It wasn't her hide the icon settings. It was something a bit more complicated.

    Thank you

    Hi Donald,.

Right-click on the taskbar and select properties in the drop-down page. In the District of taskbar appearance, check the box "Show quick launch".  Uncheck "lock the taskbar and Auto hide the taskbar."  In the notification area, click the Customize buttonand select the desired of each icon to take action.

  • Show Desktop icon is missing from the Quick Launch bar

    Original title: Windows Search

I have Windows XP, home edition, SP3, IE8, and I lost one of my desktop icons that I use frequently. This is the icon that is always in the taskbar, as well as a few others. The icon is what opens on the desktop whenever you click on it. It is a white square that looks like a block of office paper, with a figure of what looks like a pencil or pen appearing thereon.  Somehow, somehow, it was deleted, and I can't find where to get it back. I have been in the control panel on 'VIEW' and no luck, only we in the menu of the taskbar and start and he can find, checked a large number of menus that contain the word "Desktop" in it and I clicked on a large number of them also without a bit of luck too. Once more, he is a white icon and is still in the taskbar at the bottom of the screen of the monitor. Someone knows must return this icon... any help would be appreciated.

  • How can I get the original icon HP Quick Launch (NOT the shortcut!) on my DESKTOP?

I have a HP 2000 t - 2d 00 Notebook PC with operating system Windows 8.1.  The computer was recently repaired, but when I bought it, it had initially provided with HP Quick Start icon (square blue tile - like appearance with the rocket / is NOT a shortcut with an arrow inside!)

Once it has been repaired, the original official HP QuickStart icon was on the desk.

However, something happened, I have no idea what (!), and the original official HP QuickStart icon disappeared from the desktop!

I would be very happy if someone could tell me how to get the original icon HP Quick Start (blue tile in appearance as square with the rocket) on my desk.

I don't want a shortcut; I know how to create a shortcut!  I am certainly difficult and would like to have some things on the desktop exactly the way they were when I came to the computer.

Thank you very much to all those who can help me.

You missed my questions in my first reply to your message!  The link you provided for the program that can get rid of the arrows on the desktop shortcut icons does not have audio, or am I missing something?

And since you said I could try a system restore before that the icon has been "modified" - does this mean that the original icon, when I got the computer brand new, * has * indeed an icon for HP Quick Launch / is NOT a shortcut?

    Thank you.

    Hey @BJ22 ,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand you are trying to add the quick launch of HP on the desktop of your laptop.

The icons on the desktop for programs preinstalled by HP are actually shortcuts. The executable file can be moved from its installed location without breaking the connection to the .dll for the software files.

If the arrow bothers you, you can use this light application to remove the arrows from shortcut icons: Windows shortcut arrow editor.

You can also try to restore until the icon has been changed. Using Microsoft System Restore (Windows 8).

I hope that it is a viable solution for you.

  • Small quick launch icons?

is it possible to get smaller as the small icons of windows 7 to the Quick Launch bar.  The small icons of Windows 7 are at least 2 - 3 times larger than the small icons of Vista, that leave room for only 8 to 10 icons in a double row.

I see two other things you pourriez do.  First of all, you could get a bigger screen and extend the toolbar 3 lines instead of your current 2.  I recently bought a 32 "for $250 TV and connected to my computer via a HDMI cable.  It is superb!  Of course it is perhaps not too practical if you're talking about a laptop.  :-)

The only other thing would be to decrease the size of everything, even if maybe it's not too pleasant to your eyes (I know that it would not be for mine).

    Good luck.
