  I've unlocked the envelope of keyboard with led bar/quick launch keys and I unplugged the Ribbon on the buttons of the LED cable, and that definitely solved the problem...

  New question.  What should I do with the disconnected Ribbon?  Should I type down or anything before the keyboard together?   (edit: for the ribbon cable packing tape works fine)

• IE (8) cannot connect to Windows Update

  I can connect is more to the Windows Update web page.  IE (8) connects very well to everything else.  I tried all the fixes I have found in the knowedge base to try to solve this problem.  I ran the malware removal of MS SW tool.  There are a few problems and withdrawn.  I ran Malware Bytes, AVG and the window update utility "fixit".  It also won't work if I go directly to the Windows Update Web page.  It fails after the initial check to see if I have the good SW to run it.  Currently, I can't even view the history of installed updates.   I'm looking for any suggestions to fix this problem.   Thank you.

  With updates, there are two steps:

  (1) oracle must find the lines that you want to update - this can be done much more quickly if you have indexes on the appropriate columns.

  (2) If you update the values of any type or column on which an index was built, the index must be updated as well - that will take extra time.

  Depending on the size of your table and the nature of your update, the effect of one may significantly outweigh the other.

  With inserts, the only factor that comes into play is (2): insertion of a new row in the table also means insert in the index. For this reason, it should be sometimes when inserting large amounts of data into an empty table to drop the index before inserting and create them again later.

  In the end, the only way to be sure is to experiment and see what a difference it is your particular staements in your particular database on your particular hardware.

• SSD disappeared after update

  Hi people,

  I just did the last update of El Capitan on my Mac Mini 2011, 10.11.6, as well as the removal of Team Viewer (after the recent security issues) and reboot, the OS disk just disappeared.

  It has 2 drives, a Samsung SSD 840 and 2 TB HDD; the SSD is the startup disk.

  I started from a SD card and can not see the SSD drive in disk utility, nor I see the car at all from another Mac so start the Mini into disk mode target (also using disk utility). The regular reader of 2 TB appears in each case.

  Any suggestions on next steps?

  Update: I tried another drive in the same Bay, and it works, so the Board and wiring are OK. Tried the SSD again after re - install and still nothing. Looks like the SSD is dead unless anyone can offer something different...
