Quiz of the sequence: variable user-generated?

I want to create an activity that will allow users to enter their own tasks and then use the sequence quiz feature to order. It would be perfect if I could understand some items by default and then let them in their own institutions. Is this possible?

One more thing: Please be aware that the Shape objects are not supported as drag objects or target objects with the Drag and Drop widgets.  This is because due to the way in which the Shape objects are designed in Captivate their registration point for snapping always being right in the upper left corner of the slide.  So, they don't give you behaviors slam predictable.

Watching your screencast, looks like you are using a shape object as drag objects or targets.

You can always maintain the LOOK of your interaction by using the Shape object as a background object and place a point box high above to act as the REALITY of the target object.  Just set the option preference to hide the target objects when running so that the highlight box does not appear.  In this way it will look LIKE the trail of objects are flapping in your shape object, but in fact they are flapping in the invisible instead nail box.

  • Do not advance after incorrect answer quiz (quiz uses the user variables to show the wrong answers)

    Hi all

Long time lurker, first time poster. I hope someone can help me.

After watching this excellent video about adobe captivate blog "so what were the right answers in any case" I created a quiz with user variables and conditional early action. It displays a red x next to each question answered correctly at the end of the quiz.

    • I created the variable user for each question to a value of 0. On an incorrect answer, the variable would be set to 1.
    • At the end of the quiz is a blade that question and shows a red cross next to each question with a variable set to 1. uses conditional action that is triggered 'upon entry.

It works, but my problem is when I saw the quiz (in the browser or SWF), on an incorrect answer, the legend of the failure appears but does not really advance the question when I click anywhere or press o. It works well on the correct answers.

Can I sovle this by adding a next button, but I'd like to understand what I'm doing wrong.

I tested this workflow on 6.1.319 and it works fine. If a little guess in the wild... No 6.0.1.240 around at the moment. Seems strange, because a simple action like your Assign action should normally release the read head. But of course, it's a question slide and they do not always behave as expected. Could you try to replace the action of the beneficiary by a standard tip with 2 statements, like this action:

    • Assign the var_question_1 with 1
    • Continue

And please, let me know if it works? This could be a difference between the two versions, but not sure at all.

This is because there is none: Oracle's SELECT sequence. NEXTVAL FROM DUAL under the covers. The direct assignment is just a convenient encoding for us, but it does not change the work that accomplishes Oracle.

  • How can I allow the user to take a quiz in the middle of it in Captivate 7?

    Hello Captivaters,

I want to the learner of a test until he could continue on the training of the force.  If it does not pass the test, he will have to go back and resume. "Recovery" button allows him to do this, but I really want to have 4-5 of these checkpoints 'quiz' in e-Learning - separated with presentation material - so the user proves that he understands the material before moving forward.

This is why I would create my own button "recovery" at the end of every "checkpoint quiz" that leads the learner to the first issue of this checkpoint (not to the first issue of training).  So far, I was able to create a button that appears after it receives a correct quantity to allow him to continue, and I want to create a button that appears and brings it to the first control point question if is nott get the correct amount and return to these questions.  The first part is easy, but I also need to add the function or reassign a variable to allow the user to resume the quiz. I hope I'm making sense... Any help would be appreciated!

Your recovery button (s) will have an advanced standard action at least these two statements and in the following order:

    • Go to slide to score
    • Go to the question slide

Jumping to the slide of score and so that there are attempts to Quiz on the left, the next attempt will be launched (you can check if you put the system variable I was talking in a text container timed for the rest of the project). Then you jump to the slide where you want the user to return to the questions.

You may have to make it a conditional action advanced, if you want to first test the result?

  • Replace step Fail State causes the sequence fail LW/CVI custom Code generator

    Hello

I have a Code CVI generator as part of the Toolbox ATML importer.  OR kindly gave me an example of how to change the Type of step as part of the custom Code Generator DLL and that works very well.

However, if I try to change the step Fail value causes the sequence fail to VTRUE it seems do not set the value when the sequence is examined on a test bench.

    The code I use is:

    TS_StepChangeStepType (stepHandle, & errorInfo, typeDefinition);

-where typeDefinition can be modified to change the type of step, it works and I can change the type of step if necessary.

    TS_StepSetStepFailCausesSequenceFail (stepHandle, & errorInfo, VTRUE);

-who does not, the box is always set to VFALSE.

Is there something that I am missing?

    Thank you very much

    Steve

    Steve-

You must use the PropertyObject step to change the failure step Option. There should be a line of code the generator of custom Code that calls:

Get the step as a PropertyObject in case it is necessary to change the properties of the General step
    tsErrChk (TS_StepAsPropertyObject (stepHandle, & errorInfo & stepObject));

The stepObject is what you need to pass to the TS_StepSetStepFailCausesSequenceFail function as follows:

Set the Option of failure of step-by-step

    tsErrChk (TS_StepSetStepFailCausesSequenceFail (stepObject & errorInfo, VTRUE));

Please let us know if this happens to you to correct results.

  • Cancellation of registration user stored in the shift register event generates the error 1 if Subvi runs intermittently

    Hello

I'm trying to understand the behavior of the attached excerpt from a larger overall vi functional.

In a State, I'm generating a user event and in a State later unsubscribe from the event and destroy it.

Now, if I went through the VI together in one step (i.e., step through events? set to FALSE), the VI runs without generating an error. However, if I run the VI by intermittent and output after each execution of the loop, the vi generates error 1. Why is it so? Please notify. Thank you.

    Peter

Why are you registration and deregistration of events user, but you have no event structure in your VI who use them?

When you run events, probaby the event you registered disappears when your VI stops running.  If you were able to keep your VI in the foreground running, then the life of the event would persist.

The event number still exists in the uninitialized shift register, but it does not say more once your high level VI stops and you get the error 1.

If it was really a global functional VI, you would terminals connected to the connector table in your VI, you would call this as a Subvi as part of a main VI and life event would persist and you wouldn't mistake 1.

  • How to use NI9474 and cdaq9172 to generate the right variable cycle pulse 1 kHz

Hello, I would like to use a NI9474 (in a cdaq9172 chassis) to send a square with a frequency of 1 kHz wave. The cycle will change just about every second (based on NI9205 voltage readings in all separate loop, by controlling the local variable 'duty'). It is important to have a temporal resolution of decent output; that is the difference between 50% and 51% of duty cycle must be determined. 9474 says that it has a speed of 1, so I expect that this is possible. This is used for a buck converter. The output is switching on and off a MOSFET, which only needs 5 volts, and less than a mA, when on. I tried a "simulate" with a square wave signal using a frequency of 1 kHz and 100kS/s and introduced in a DAQ assist with dynamic data to the converter Boolean between (probably not the best approach I admit). I tried also implemented using the DAQmx screw (without help). In both cases, I got an error that says that I need an external clock. I know that the chassis has an internal counter. This could be used for synchronization? I looked at examples of Pulse counter, but which seems to be to use a meter as output, not a digital channel, so I'm a little confused. The numeric examples do not seem to be what I want either. If I can't use the chassis for synchronization, it is possible, that I could get a NI9401. Could I use this counting or establishment of a clock (I could attach a function generator using a square wave of 1 Mhz for example)? For example with a 1 Mhz clock, then for a 50% duty cycle signal 1 kHz, after 500 clocks range from low to high and high to low after the other 500, (or 510 and 490 in 51% duty). Is something like that possible? Thanks for any advice, Thomas I should confess do not understand the things of meter too well at this point. Many of the examples I've seen, are apparently complicated screws.

    Hi Thomas,

You can certainly do with a counter pulse train generation by using your 9474 in a cDAQ-9172 chassis.  Make sure that the module is in the slot 5 or 6 (latest chassis do not have this restriction).  Examples of pulse train located in the finder example under entry and exit-> DAQmx hardware-> generating digital impulses.  The example of Gen dig Pulse Train - Continuous.vi is probably in the neighborhood of what you want.

To update the market on the fly factor, write the Co.Pulse.DutyCyc channel property after the task starts.

How can given this structure and data, I generate sequence at the end of each line numbers? Basically, the sequence number (x.y.z) is such that x (1.n) is awarded for each unique value in file_no. In each x, y (1.n) is assigned for each unique value of batch_no. Within each y, z (1.n) is assigned for all records of this batch. Sample data shows only dt but all sequences must reset and start over when dt changes.

I tried using row_number() over (partition by dt, file_no) and such but nothing quite gives me what I'm looking for.

    Done batch_no = 100 come before or after 101?  Batch_no = 100 a ID so much until after the id for batch_no = 101.

Good point, but that won't happen because of the way the 'record' is generated. All batch_nos will be contiguous. So if batch_no 100 comes earlier in the file as 101, it should get some 2nd highest sequence number. Otherwise, lower. Basically, the 2nd part of the sequence must simialar logical number to the 3rd party (i.e. order by id) but that messes things. Still struggle with it. Any help appreciated.

I think I understand.  You say that, because of the way that the ID is issued, it wouldn't matter if you used the highest id of the batch_no, or the lowest id, or the average, or if you chose one at random; you would get the correct order in all cases.

The following query uses the id low in the order file_no and batch_nos.

  • Insert/update of the XML help merge and to generate the sequence number

    Hello

    I'm working on Oracle 11 g.

I have a doubt with loading XML.
I get an xml and I need to insert or update data in a table. What I can accomplish by using the MERGE statement.
But there is a column in A table, I need to fill with a sequence number, based on the data sent in the xml file.
The XML does not send the data in this column.
And I have to make sure that sequence is created according to the order in which the records are present in xml.
For example the MERGER is insert five rows and update two lines and insert again 3 rows of xml in table A. The sequence number must be created in the same order for the column in the table.
Also for every new XML, the sequence starts with 1 and ends with the number of records in the xml file. I can't create a sequence and use the seq.nextval.

Please let me know, there is a way to achieve this.

    Thank you!

    Hello

    As a result of your previous thread: {: identifier of the thread = 2403469}

You can use the clause for ORDINALITE in XMLTable to generate the necessary sequence:

    MERGE INTO target_table t
    USING (
      SELECT x.seq_num, x.pk_id, x.col1, x.col2, ...
      FROM XMLTable(
             '/root/record'
             passing my_xml_doc
             columns seq_num FOR ORDINALITY
                   , pk_id number path 'ID'
                   , col1 varchar2(30) path 'COL1'
                   , col2 varchar2(30) path 'COL2'
                   , ...
           ) x
    ) src
    ON ( t.pk_id = src.pk_id )
    WHEN MATCHED THEN UPDATE
     SET t.seq_num = src.seq_num
       , t.col1 = src.col1
       , t.col2 = src.col2
       , ...
    WHEN NOT MATCHED THEN INSERT
     (seq_num, pk_id, col1, col2, ...)
     VALUES (src.seq_num, src.pk_id, src.col1, src.col2, ...)
