Quotes in the Meta Description tag

I want to put quotes around a book title in a meta description tag. When I add them by using the Description field in the properties, prosecutors Dreamweaver & quot; for the quote. I know he's doing this because the content = is quoted. Quotes will appear correct with the help of these html entities in all search engine results that display what is in my meta description tag?

Also, it works very well using the html. like < em > < /em > in the meta head tags?

You are spitting in the wind with it.  Descriptions in your meta-tags tags are displayed by some but not all search engines.  And the way in which your meta descriptions are SERPs is totally out of your control.  USING capital LETTERS for TITLES of BOOKS.  Ordinary case for everything else.

  • Potential SEO issues with the meta description and h1 tag

Work on the referencing of BC site and noticed the page markup has more than a description meta tag. I think there must be meta tag single description within the section of the page. If someone looked into this? It would seem that the models have the meta description and then tag when a new page is created, if you fill in the description field of SEO for this page, BC adds another meta description tag. What's going on with that and is there a workaround? I'm sure that this negatively affects the SEO.

Then there is a problem of h1. An h1 tag is an indicator of what the content of the page. Search engines reduce the value of a page that contains multiple h1 tags. If a page Abuse the h1 tags, this page could be determined a junk page and not be indexed. Again, the model contains h1 with the page logo and many of the pages included with the model (Tribeca) reuse h1 in the body. Is there a css solution to substitute the h1 used in logo template? Would anyone like to gift of the snippet of code I could use for this purpose? I'm really bad with css...  Thank you.

Well Yes and it is one of the Colombia-British ones. That would be a problem with this model. I think that there are a few things wrong with this pass by the forums so I don't know if the BC was made aware of them but I will go to them about this.

Remove the meta model files from descriptions if you can yourself and that will correct if all goes well. It is not the norm, I have plenty of time to build sites and don't have this problem if it is not not a problem of system so uncomfortable on this.

  • Find and replace the work of the Meta Descriptions?

If someone has found a way to make a site-wide find and replace, to access the Meta Descriptions, titles or embedded HTML?  I am involved in a project of cloning of dozens of web sites Adobe Muse & change text in various areas.  It would be a HUGE timesaver.  Appreciate all the help that can be offered on this topic!

Thanks for getting back to me on that.  Search for replacement & is great, but it's a disappointment that only the body of pages can use this function when it has so much important text in page descriptions and titles!  I would love to see this feature added to a future version of Adobe Muse... Any chance you could forward that request to the right person to review?

    Thank you!

  • Anomaly of Google - results research resulted in the meta description?

If someone had noticed over the past month, the Google search results page 'view 1 to 20' tire for the main block of text they use for each Web site description? That is to say. the meta description is corrupt?

It affects only a small percentage of Web sites, but mineis today one of them.

I was wondering if anyone has encountered this and has a solution for their coldfusion code? Looking at my code descroption meta is properly formatted, so I do not understand why my "showing records 1-20 ' are drawn into that?

Google does not reveal the functioning of their algorithms.

But the basis of the golden rule is to not try to deceive or manipulate Google when it spiders the page: just to make the page contextually relevant and composed in a way that would be reasonable for humans.

You can also add some "Rich Snippets" to your mark up which tells Google parts of your supplement intention, so that they know how best to display in the results of research: http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2009/05/introducing-rich-snippets.html

  • Meta Description tag

    Hi all

I'm looking to update the metatag 'Description' of my site, in the code HTML is this section I need update: < meta http-equiv = "Content-Type" content = "text/html;" Charset = UTF-8 "> if this is the case, is there a word/character limit, I can get into Dreamweaver?"

    Thanls a lot

    Nick

No, this isn't the Description tag. It is the character encoding tag.

To insert the Description tag in Dreamweaver, go to the Insert panel and select the common category in the menu. Click the arrow next to the head, and then select the Description.

That opens a dialog box where you can write your description. There is no limit on how long the description can be, but there should normally be no more than 20 words. If you write more, it will be ignored by the search engines.

  • Help with Meta Description

Is there a way to access the meta description to change? Is this something that needs to be done on the hosting site?

I'm sorry if these are stupid questions to some however, I fight to learn Web Design and creation. I only work with these programs since April and have no previous experience with them. I have a background in older HTML coding and the basics of the design of Web sites and capabilities. I'm hoping for people to be compassionate and willing to help out me. Thank you.

    Hello Sue,.

If you want to update your Muse site's metadata, you can open the file of the Muse and then go to Page-> Page Properties-> section of metadata to pages and update the metadata.

    I hope this helps.

  • Meta description and keywords tags

    Hello

Could you tell me if it is possible to create a HTML output of a page of the ADF, which has 'description' and 'keywords' meta tags in the head? Something like:
< meta name = "keywords" content = "adf jdeveloper description meta tags keywords" >
< meta content = "description" name = "This is a brief description of the text on an imaginary page" >

I know the results perhaps, SEO is not great, but I still want to use it, just to make it as good as possible for the search engines.

    Greetings,
    Daan Horn

    Daan,

    Sorry for the oversight.

[url http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/htdocs/partners/addins/exchange/jsf/doc/tagdoc/core/document.html] Tag documentation for af:document says that af: document has a facet called "metaContainer" that emits the meta tags. I did not see examples or have the time to test, but you can certainly try to put meta tags in this facet.

Update: all of the examples I can find show how to inject javascript into the metacontainer, but it should give you an idea how to tags. [url http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/tips/fnimphius/increase_css_and_javascript_performance.html?_template=/ocom/print] Here' make an example I found via Google.

  • Place the meta tag data BEFORE the CSS data

    Hello

From my place of work updated our browser default to IE9 to IE11, I had some problems with my built Muse works site. Some text boxes overlap and mingle others make the text unreadable.

My IM business team is at a loss as to why, especially as the site works perfectly on my home computer / Surface IE11, Edge, Chrome and FireFox.

The site includes more than 800 pages and saved on / accessed from a shared drive (rather than a web server) by 60 of our users.

My IM team suggested that I add a compatibility meta tag (as it works fine in compatibility IE9 mode) so I tried to add the metatag < meta http-equiv = "X-UA-Compatible" content = "IE = 9" > using the "HTML for < head >" box in 'Page Properties' muse.

However, he could not force the site to open in compatibility IE9 mode and I said since that it is because the meta tag that I added is used in the section "Custom head HTML" that comes after the "CSS" section when Muse exports as html.

So, my question is this - is it possible for me to add a meta tag BEFORE the data CSS, up with the normal meta rather than in the main HTML area custom tags?

The short answer is no (other than to manually update each .html file).

"The site has more than 800 pages and is saved on / accessed from a shared drive (rather than a web server) by 60 of our users."

Is the site served by using a web server via http/https, or users open the index.html file using the file:// Protocol?

  • How to add customized to the individual pages meta descriptions?

We are no longer able to add meta descriptions to the pages.

The fields "SEO metadata" are no longer available:

This has something to do with the new 'rendering engine '?

Your job title and job description are your meta data fields. It is not something to do with the new rendering engine.

Section of your page SEO meta should still be there, I see it on several sites, not gone anywhere.

If you used the old popup Editor button - you don't use it for some time... It is really old and never worked right and causing the double, or even triple your data.

    Hello

This doesn't seem to be Meta description. When I check the source of the page, it seems that title is added on the page and is nt same as Meta description.

Please see the page properties of the master page that is applied to this home page.

And check in the metadata if there are a few "Page title prefix" or "Page title of the suffix" added. If so, please remove it and this prefix must be removed from the title of the page.

    Kind regards

  • SEO - Meta descriptions and overall layout of the catalogue

    I have the following problems:

    (1) catalog description listed on the product pages (wide) - it is solution provided in the KB to hide the description using jscript but I'm sure that Google will not like this.  Is there another way to address this issue.

    (2) I understand that it is not possible to add meta description in the catalog pages and products. (surprised that BC thinks that these were not significant enough).  Do you think that it is necessary to use one of the custom product fields to create meta description of catalog and products, for example the custom field 1 could be assigned to the description of meta for catalog (just the first product in the specific catalogue) and the custom field 2 for product meta descriptions?  <meta name= "description" content = {customfield1} / >

    Thanks, SM

    Hey there.

1 does say that you can post a link to it, your right, it will have no effect on google seeing.

    2. you can add meta description to the product pages using one of the custom fields. I would avoid using meta description for the catalogues. You will see no thrust SEO at all with it and without it, you won't see any negative effects. Give to next year and it is likely that these are not used by google at all.
