• STROKE on vWLC

  Hello! I have vWLC version 8.3.102.0. I've read that in the old version 8.1? STROKE no support on vWLC. But with the 8.1 version it support. Configure WIFI AP with central switching and QoS Flex AVC profile tab has become idle. In the Client Monitor tab no STROKE tab. Question, how to configure STROKE on vWLC? And one more question, does vWLC support Netflow?

  The vWLC only supports the 'STROKE Flex' which has some limitations compared to the regular STROKE. A requirement for Flex STROKE to work is that local switching is used, if you are using central switching you automatically "fall back" to regular STROKE which is not supported on the vWLC.

  You cannot use the vWLC as the Netflow exporter. More information about the features of AirOS 8.3 and how to configure them in this document.

• AP may not reach vWLC 8.2

  Hi all

  My AP (AG 1130) could join vWLC 7.3 after enable access AP SSC, but can not join vWLC same 8.2 if enable SSC.

  The AP LWAPP version is 8.0, no idea for this problem?

  I always confuse with this, is it any body could explain the process of joining the AP about certification? What things are asterisk to match when the AP to vWLC jion?

  1131 only supported up to 8.0.x code. So you cannot use this AP model with 8.1.x or 8.2.x.

• Cisco vWLC - questions while implementing - practice design recommendations

  Hi Forum,

  I am right now with the implementation of a virtual wireless LAN controller in one of our customers environment.

  Customer is facing several problems and I'm not sure how to solve them - then maybe the supportforum could give me answers or advice.

  (1.) the client complains about not being able to see several ports on the vWLC when you implement a second vNIC in VMWare (via the show summary of the vWLCs CLI port command). According to my understanding of the vWLC always show only a 'physical' port and interfaces n (depending on how many interfaces is created on the vWLC) - mapping is accomplished through the vWLC - so basically as that administrator we are not able to see the exact mapping and always only a single port "physical"?

  (2.) the customer was told that the vWLC essentially works except the bypass between the tunnel CAPWAP for VMWare to the router - I'm not sure what he means by that, but I guess it has something to do with the marking of the dynamic interfaces / VLAN to the ESX and later of the ESX via vNIC to the vWLC - advice? (Please take account also details of design of question 3)

  3.) is it ok to TAG all the VLAN via a vNIC without using the service port? I mean create a vNIC transporting and marking of the management and the VLAN database? Or is it mandatory to separate the management of data using a dedicated with the service port subnet VLANS? Suggestions for best practice to get the job of controller - especially on the part of VMWare?

  You are right, you can mark the VLAN for management and data is not required to use the service port. You're management interface will also be Manager AP interface on what APs registry. You can not have 2 management. You can have 1 management officially and 1 for the AP Manager.

  Internal DHCP on vwlc is not supported. You need to do a dhcp relay. If you need more information let me know.

• vWLC 802.1 x NPS authentication fails

  I hope someone can help me with the following problem, I am confronted with...

  I have a vWLC 7.3 deployed in our HQ site running.

  At Headquarters, we have a deployed W2k8 R2 NPS to works very well for VPN, router and switch authentication

  In a few remote branch offices that are connected to HQ on DMVPN, we have a couple of 3500 flexconnect with local switching mode.

  These AP register very well through the VPN link to the vWLC.

  We have deployed several SSID that is related to groups of AP.

  All SSIDS that use WPA2 with PSK works very well

  Failure of all SSIDS that use WPA2 with 802. 1 x

  The security settings for the default SSID are:

  Policy of WPA2

  WPA2 AES encryption

  Human key 802. 1 x

  AAA server is pointing to the NPS for Auth and accounting right

  Ray crush IF is disabled

  The parameters of the NPS are:

  Conditions:

  Group Win: DOMAIN\Groupxx

  NAS Port Type: Wireless - IEEE 802.11

  Parameters:

  EAP Conf: configured

  Access Perm: granted

  The EAP method: MS PEAP

  AUTH method: EAP

  NAP enforcement: allows full access

  When a laptop (Mac os 10.8) attempts to connect to an SSID 802.1 x it requests a username and passwd.

  Domain\user using + passwd the client tries to authenticate to a couple of times and fails

  On the vWLC I see trap:

  EAP-PEAP requires a certificate on the side server.

  This certificate is used to construct the SSL tunnel.

  Could please check if the server certificate is installed and valid.

  If the certicate on the NPS is installed properly, you must activate the following debugging

  Debug dot1x aaa

  Debug dot1x events

  Debug dot1x packages

  Use a client to connect to the 802. 1 x active SSID.

  Send debug logs.

• About this Mac window

  A week ago I updated my Mac Mini end of 2014 to Sierra and, among other drawbacks, I found that the "to comments of this Mac window" doesn´t show when it is called. • I have a music library of about 7.6 GB.  I have an old nano iPod which has a capacity of 8.0 GB. When I try to sync my library on the nano it accepts only about 1.68 GB.  How can I fix?

  I have a library of about 7.8 GB of songs iTunes music.  I have an iPod nano to 8.0 GB.  When I try to sync my music on the iPod the IPod does accept that about 1.68 GB.  I tried to restore and re-synchronization-the same results.

  Are all your songs stored locallyin your computer's iTunes library?  iTunes cannot sync the songs that are accessed by streaming from Apple servers ("iCloud").  To check, find a song that does not sync your iPod to your iTunes library.  Do a right click and get information.  On the tab of the file Info window, browse to the location.  This site shows a path of the file to the location the file of that song on your drive, or should I say iCloud?  Expressed the iCloud, download it.

  If this is the General reason why much of the music library will not sync to the iPod, you can select the pieces all affected at the same time, right-click on the selection and download.  Once all the music files are stored locally, they sync to iPod.

  If this is not the cause of your problem, thanks for posting back with all additional details, such as any error message that appears when you attempt to sync.

• the preview window does not show the document that I'm about to print in Sierra

  The preview window does not display the document that I'm about to print. This problem started as soon as I upgraded to Sierra. It occurs in many applications - including in Microsoft Excel 2011.

• Confused about the new iPhone to load

  It seems that online, there are many variations on how to charge an iPhone the first times, we don't know what to believe.

• About this mac OS 10.11.6 but app store shows still says download available

  I downloaded the latest update. I used to problems since the first upgrade to El Capitan in what I usually feel a white screen to halfway through the update, closing force downwards and then reopen mode without fail to complete.

  This time, I see the current version about this mac, but it doesn't show not as having been downloaded on the app store and it keeps invites me to update.

• I deleted my /private folder. What can I do about it?

• Why finder hide Documents and office files in the home directory of the user by activating iCloud drive? What about the behavior of Time Machine backup or third-party applications?

  I'm under MacOS Sierra. I am connected to my iCloud account. I activated the option Desktop and Documents, but I did NOT activate the option optimize Mac storage, because I wanted to make sure that all my files would be available locally, just in case, I would need to work without an internet connection.

  -J' noticed there now a menu iCloud in my sidebar in the Finder, with links to Documents and desktop.

  -J' also noticed that Documents is no longer presented in my favorites in my side bar of the Finder.

  -This last suggests that files saved in 'Documents' are not saved more on my HD... but only in iCloud, which isn't what I want.

  -Then, sailing in the Finder Macintosh HD/users / 'My account' /, I noticed that my Documents and desktop folders are more visible, as if these files are not saved in my home folder most. Which raises the question: where are My Documents and files on my HD, so they are still?

  -Using a shell session in the terminal and again navigate to/Users / 'My account' /, I noticed that my Documents and desktop folders are still there. Which suggest that records and records of office reside actually still in my home folder under users, but Finder actually hide it and present them as being stored in iCloud only disc. It's very confusing.

  This raises several questions:

  -In the first place, why Apple hide Documents and office files in the directory? Why not view these folders in iCloud and directory?

  -Whence the iCloud folder or drive, reside actually on my hard drive?

  -What time Machine. Is it still back up my document files and folders?

  -What games third-party app mirroring backup of My Documents files and folders? They still work properly? (I use Livedrive backup and Sugarsync for files mirrored across several macs).

  -How can I understand that Apple is doing with my folders and files? Some users might be happy with the iCloud drive concept, without worrying about how it works, but I don't take chances, and I want to keep a good understanding about the functioning of my system.

  Could someone explain what is exactly happening?

  With office and selected Documents, access to these files are now in the iCloud Drive, not in your home folder.

  My guess would be that they do not appear in your file because it would be confusing for many people to make them in two places.

  If you want in the Favorites, open iCloud Drive and drag them in the sidebar here.

  All about iCloud drive has been saved on your Mac. With the exception of the office and the Documents, they are in ~/Library/Mobile Documents. However, if you choose optimized storage, older documents are removed from your Mac. I don't know what is "old".

  ~/Documents and ~/desktop have new metadata indicating probably Finder does not display them in a Finder window, only in iCloud drive. They are not hidden in one of the normal methods of unix.

  I have not tested Time Machine or any other backup program. The folder still exist in your directory home, and they still have all the files, I don't think that changes anything.

• RAID is no longer present in the storage "about this mac".

  After upgrading to Sierra my SoftRAID(4) drive does not appear in the about this mac storage section. I asked soft raid and their answer is that it's an apple problem

  If you haven't already done so, disconnect the SoftRAID(4) drive and stop your Mac. While the Mac is turned off, connect the player SoftRAID(4). Then restart your Mac. See if it appears in disk utility.
