Random walk showing in hard drives

In the last week, I had a random drive appear in my region of the hard disk drives.  When I try to open, it gives me an error that says:

Q:\ is not accessible
Access is denied

Now, I'm the administrator of this computer, a PC at home with Win7 Pro.  It bothers me only because it's there and I don't know why.  Anyone know how to remove or if I should even remove?

Thank you.

Hi Catchthelunge,

·         The disc was created during the installation of the operating system?
·         Recent changes on the computer before the broadcast took place?
·         You saved all the data on the Q: drive?
·         Were you able to access the drive before with no problems?

You can get the following error:

If you do not have sufficient permissions to access the drive or if the disc is damaged and so cannot be opened.

You can try to remove the drive and check.

To delete a partition:

1. open computer management by clicking Start, clicking Control Panel, clicking system and security, click Administrative Tools, and then double-click computer management. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
2. in the left pane, under storage, click Disk Management.
3. right click on the volume, for example, a partition or a logical drive, that you want to remove and then click on delete the Volume.
4. click Yes to delete the volume.

Click on the link: delete a hard disk partition: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Delete-a-hard-disk-partition

I would also say that you run a virus on the computer scan and check.

Thank you, and in what concerns:

  • Satellite U940 - Random BSOD after replacing HARD drive

    Good day ladies and gentlemen!

I was wondering if I can win some lights here - as I google myself in a bunch of flange on the issue, I have!

I am a famous computer technician (modest too) and more recently, a client of mine introduced me to a ultrabook Satellite U940 - lovingly with the SSD / HDD Raid 0 configuration running our beloved Windows 8.

All things according to their entire course - Hitachi hard drive failed (as google tells me is to be expected).

So, I replace the hard drive by a great little number Western Digital, cloned from Hitachi, sector by sector, and after a significant cajoling with bcdedit and bootrec amount, I could so he could begin our good liked Windows 8.

However, since then, I have random BSOD, cold boots failed and all sorts of errors.

I ran all the regular patches - SFC/scannow, chkdsk/r, Windows 8 repair facilities, etc., but it is still volatile jolly.

Things seem not to be as they were with this Satellite little ol '-before any repair, the peripheral device manager showed two "RAID 0' in the category of hard drives, and since then it shows the individual SSD and the WD HARD drive."

I've updated the driver for the Intel Rapid Storage at latest on the Toshiba site, but nothing helps - alas!
The weird part is that if I do a reboot on this little beauty, she starts without any problems, but a start cold after a power off is a completely different question - dummy - spit crashing, dumping, in general!

If there is a troubleshooting there champion who can destroy my help in this situation, I'd be very impressed and never have if they could provide assistance in this regard.

Unfortunately Microsoft - are we are all end by using these products of ever-so-pretty Appl?

    Hello

I read in some discussions here in this forum only after replacing the disk SSD or HARD drive, the RAID configuration is lost and must be rebuilt on a device Windows 8.

But this can be done very easily, and this can be corrected by an authorized Toshiba because this procedure requires special tools and utilities.

Unfortunately, it seems to me that you will need to contact the ASP in your country to get this problem resolved :(

  • LR shows a HARD drive twice

    Hello

The other day something strange happened after that I imported images; After I imported them, I could not locate in their usual place. They seemed to be in a different location. When I asked LR to show their actual physical location, they seemed to be physically located where I wanted them. And that's when I realized that LR was simply show these images as being somewhere else. Look at the picture below; See "Photos" twice? Well, that's the same hard drive. There isn't a single hdd 'Pictures', yet LR began the 'split '. I optimized the catalog, hoping that would fix it, but it stayed the same. No idea why this is happening?

    Thank you!

    LR 4.4

    OS X 10.6.8

    LR_catalog.jpg

    expee,

I had this happen to me several times on LR 4.4 with the same version of Mac OS X you.  The hard drive in question was an external NAS device which had some questionable interactions with the OS at first, but was basically usable.  Unfortunately I never understood exactly what triggered the problem, and I have only a vague memory of how I solved it.

I think what I did is something in this sense (but even once, I don't remember exactly)

    (1) using the Finder, rename the folder.  This causes her disappear in LR and display a question mark icon.

    (2) in the files of LR Panel is went to the other, 'main' copy of the hard drive, went to the parent folder and used the command 'synchronize' to search for the folder.  Or maybe I added the folder back another way.  I think this caused the folder reappears in the 'good' copy of the hard drive and the extra copy to disappear.

    (3) renamed the folder my original name.

I'm sorry that I don't remember exactly what I did.  All I know is that I forced the record in a missing State temporarily.  Double/split HARD drive icons appear to be a bug any.  If I was a better citizen I must declare it at Adobe at the time!

  • New dv5-1235dx: showing 2 hard drives, 1 CD player and 1 DVD player

I bought a new laptop dv5-1235dx last week and while I obviously only have 1 disk drive, I shows that I have 1 drive (F) and 1 DVD RW (E). Displays Device Manager only 1 drive installed, and CD & DVD appear on the drive from DVD (E).

I downloaded & installed all the drivers of HP & Windows updates, google this problem and sought in these Support forums.

Can someone inform me why this is show this, and maybe how to get rid of the 'CD player '?

    Thank you!

Your hard drive shows its full capacity. Currently, the missing space is not allocated. You do need a right click while in disk management, and then create a new partition.

  • Seagate external hard drive / / no display

Recently I bought a Portable Seagate 2 TB external hard drive for my MacBook Air. I put all my movies, music, ext documents on my hard drive with my important homework. The reason why I did was reset my mac, then return all my old documents, photos ext, back to their place of origin. I have managed to do and frees a lot of space. A few days after my MacBook fell asleep with a connected external hard drive and now the hard drive is no longer present on the desktop or in finder. I am able to find in my "disk utility" , but for some reason, it shows the hard drive passed out faded gray and full? I tried to hook up with different cables and on the various devices as well. Also sang the first aid option in "disk utility" with no other results. I have contacted apple support and found out it was the external hard drive with the problem, so they couldn't help me. They then redirected me to Seagate Support, and I had already tried the methods they gave me (see list above). I was wondering if anyone here on communities of Apple has experienced the same problem as me, it would be that much appreciated advice you may have. I have important files that I need to recover.

    Help, please!

Had a similar problem with external hard drive WD also on model MBA early 2015. Found if I disconnect the external hard drive restart MBA and then reconnect the external hard drive it was working normally again.

Another thing I tried was still unplug HD plugin MBA on sector and re - a SMC.

  • Not able to see the icon for the external hard drive on my desktop after upgrade to Sierra

    Dear all,

I am new to Mac and the OS, I have a Macbook Pro... recently, I upgraded the OS to imed, and since after that, whenever I connect my external DRIVE to Seagate drive in my macbook pro, I don't see the icon on my desktop and as a result, I can't access my files on my HARD drive. However when I check in disk utility, it shows the HARD drive it.

I could help out me here to ask you to please!

    Kind regards

    Naughty Arlette

If it's a NTFS formatted disk, then you must update the Paragon NTFS of Seagate driver (available on their support site).

  • Satellite C855-1GQ - warning of hard drive failure

    Hello

Suddenly my laptop started to show me "hard drive failure warnings" and honestly, I have no idea what it takes to this topic please someone can help me.

Symptom: The PredictFailure flag is set on the disk
Cause: A logical disk has the failure to predict SMART bit set.
Details: This disc is facing a problem and predicted that the drive will fail

    Symptom: failure
Cause: A device reported 'Not OK' status.
Details: The device, hard drive, reports a value of bad condition. This device won't be available until the problem is resolved. The Plug and Play ID for this device is \\.\PHYSICALDRIVE0.

My advice is to make data backup and contact the nearest Toshiba service as soon as possible. They can help you with it. Warranty is valid also if they want to replace the HARD drive it will be free of charge.

  • When changing the 80 GB to 40 GB HARD drive, Satellite M40 does not recognize the drive

    Hi all

    Thanks for coming in! :)
I recently source two-disc 40GB 2.5 "IDE and intended to run one of them in my Satellite M40.

    The problem starts here:

    (1) I took the original 80 GB hard drive & install the 40 GB hard drive
    (2) start and put in the Toshiba M40 recovery disk
    (3) display screen 'Y' for recovery blah blah blah thing...
    (4) then the screen shows 'cannot be installed because no hard drive found ".
    (5) I boot in the BIOS using F2-> F1, page 2 shows no hard drive

    (6) I try to use my own CD of Windows XP Pro, same thing (as in no hard drive found)
    (7) and the BIOS too show no hard drive found

The two disk 40 GB is out of mobile work and they formatted it, partition deleted with NOTHING on it. They have also been tested on other PCs (using the converter) using WXP. Two of them work very well!

Now, the weird thing is that I just can't make it work at least in the Sat - M40. Why is this? Toshiba locked the M40 being one Toshiba-disc is usable?
Is there a place to get through it? Hidden BIOS?

I have fixed a large number of PCs, but I can't with this, Please HELP...
Any response would be appreciated, thanks! :)

    Hello

The M40 should be able to use 40 GB hard drives with no problems.
But you must use hard drives with the right interface.
To my knowledge the M40 supports hard drives with an interface IDE (ATA-6).

So be sure that your 40 GB HARD drive supports it.

By the way; Check if your HARD drive supports the good master or slave definition.

  • Hard drive replacement on Satellite L500

    Hello

I need to buy a new hard drive, but want to make sure that the new one will agree and will work. they have laptops are all the same size. I have a satellite l500. http://www.umart.com.au/newindex2.phtml?bid=4 Will this hard drive fit into my portable Western Digital Scorpio Blue 500 G SATA 5400 RPM, 8 M laptop HARD drive.

What am I, I guess, at the research of?
    Thank you

Unfortunately this link doesn t show the HARD drive so if you can please change the link post the right one

In any case, what you need is 2.5 SATA HDD and I think HDD described in your ad will fit. Replacement isn't complicated and you can do it alone.
See also document s user manuals. Maybe you can find clear instructions how do.

If you have any other questions you are welcome.

  • Question about hard drive partitions - Satellite L450

I just got a new Satellite L450 with a 250 GB hard drive. I moved my media on it and quickly received a warning from the Toshiba Bulletin board that my hard drive was achieved at full capacity. When I look at 'My computer', it shows 2 hard drives, WINDOWS (C :) and DATA(D:).) I guess it's one thing to install because there is only one hard drive.

C and D drives are around 120 GB but WINDOWS is 75% sold out. How to use drive D and avoid the warning on the capacity of the drive?
Can I change the capactiy for C and D allowances?

In my opinion, you should simply ignore this message. In Windows Explorer, you can clearly see how much free space is available on each partition. So I think t for the partitions and data administration you n t need to monitoring applications.

This partitions C and D is the standard setting for the new Toshiba laptops.
In disk management you can change the ability of the partitions but I n t think this is the best solution for you because the two partitions are filled with data.

  • HP Envy Ultrabook 6 t-1000 CTO: HARD drive is not displayed

    Hello.

I had the Windows Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) once or twice when using simple everyday applications on my Ultrabook. The results were either not different on Mode without failure. After awhile, I started having 'No Bootable disc' error while starting up. Recovery (press F11) will not appear so. I tried the HP Diagnostics (by pressing F2 at startup) and Test the hard drive as well as the Test of memory shows PASSED on the formats of short or long.

    I tried the following:

    1. I did some research on Google and entered in the BIOS/Insyde utility (by pressing F10 at startup), loaded default installation (by pressing F9), saved changes and did a restart, but I get the error again.

    2. I downloaded Windows 7 64-bit Microsoft store, created a boot USB and plugged. I was able to access the Windows Installation Page, but he wouldn't show my hard drive at all.

    3. I find the support page of my product on the site HP and downloaded the latest drivers, put it in a USB device and booted up the system from the Windows Setup disc. On the page where it was supposed to show my internal hard drives, it showed only USB drives and there is an option "Load Driver" I clicked on and selected the driver files I downloaded from the HP website. Everything was going well until I chose iaStor.inf... this time, the system has hung up and the BSOD appeared with an error stating the file 'iaStor.sys '.

    My questions:

1 if diagnostic Tests are passed, I can assume that the material is well?

    2. Although I already placed an order for HP recovery discs, I doubt if it could help because my HARD drive drivers seem to be missing. What is your opinion?
    3. is there a way to reset zero/reload drivers BIOS/Insyde utility?

    My system features:
Laptop model: PC portable HP Envy 6
Product no.: A9G58AV (the back panel laptop says A9G30AV)
    {Information}
    Processor: 2nd generation Intel Core i5 - 2467 M CPU @ 1.6 GHz + Intel HD Graphics 3000
    BIOS version: F.0D
    Total memory: 4 GB
Operating system: Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
HARD drive: 500 GB 5400 rpm SATA RAW 7mm hard drive with 32 GB WSSD faster reduction of the hard disk Cache

Unfortunately at that I disagree with Paul and I think that you may be looking for a bad motherboard, but we would like first to try to remove the disc of WSSD 32 gig.

    Here is the Manual:

    Repair manuals

See Page 40. Unfortunately, this model is a little difficult to disassemble, but measures are set out in the manual. If it is still under warranty, you can't do that. If the hard drive passes the test of F2 then I tend to think that it's not the hard drive.
