p001au-15, 15-ac658tx: I want to change my laptop hard drive

Hello

I have two laptops (p001au-15, 15-ac658tx).

Can I change HDD to the SSD on my laptop?

and what kind of SSD is good for my laptop?

Also, I want to replace the HARD drive to install a caddy to the strange place, but I don't know what ODD is my own laptop.

When I watched caddy in eBay and I saw two types of caddy each 9.5, 12.7

But I don't know what type is best for my laptop.

    Hello

can I change to SSD HDD in my laptop?
and what kind of SSD is the best for my laptop?

Yes, you can do but see p. 59 of the manual here:

    Repair manuals

You might be surprised to see that this is not a simple procedure, but it will work if you replace the HDD with a SSD in the hard drive compartment.

You need a width of 2.5-inch SATA SSD. Like this:

  • I have changed my laptop HARD drive, I can re - install and reactivate windows 7 by COA on the bottom of my laptop

I want to change my primary portable hard drive HARD to the SDS drive, my question is can I download the corresponding edition of Windows 7 from MSDN and re - install in my new hard driver then reactivate the license key to use the COA on the bottom of my laptop? (I no longer use the OS to pre-install on my old HDD).

If I can do these things, another question, can I choose different language version? For example, my OS pre-installation is the English version of Windows 7 Pro, can I use this Chinese version of Simple Windows 7 Pro license key from COA asset?
    Thank you very much!

    Original title: Dual Boot Laptop

I want to install a second hard drive in my laptop (mSata SSD), I have two programs to install that "do not receive the", so I can create a system dual boot with the same license Windows on each disc. I can run only one at a time, and it's the same pc/laptop.

No, you can't, a second facility would be like installing on a second computer, you will need to purchase a second license.

I want to add a second hard drive for my Pavilion Elite HPE 410f. Recommendations?  Somewhere in the 320 to 500 GB range and I want a quick unit because it will be used for rendering videos.    Thank you for your response.

    Hello

How fast is fast is the real question.

Have you looked at hybrid drives OCZ? Expensive but probably the fastest option.

Seagate also made a hybrid hard drive.  Good price... You will need a 3.5 "to 2.5" support if the player does not support.  If you install the drive in an empty optical Bay then you will need a 5.25 "to 2.5" support.

Your other choice is 7 200 or 10 000 rpm traditional hard drives.

Another option would be to add a PCI sata and two external hard dirves configured in RAID 0.

  • How can I change primary H hard drive c?

Recently, I had a disk failure hard and after installation to a new hard drive and reinstall all the software I found that the hard drive was affected as H c not. So far this has not been a problem because everything worked correctly. Now I want to install a new piece of software, but before I load it I get a download from the manufacturer's website. When I try this it will only download on the C drive and there is no way to change this.

So, how can I change my c: drive? I tried under storage disk management in the computer management, but it will not allow a change.

I am running Windows XP pro with all the updates.

Let's try this via the disk part control

    (a) click Start and in the start search bar type cmd, right-click on the command prompt icon in the box programs and then click Run as administrator.

    (b) at the command prompt, type diskpart , and then on enter.

    (c) type list disk and press ENTER. A list of available hard disks.

    (d) type salt disc number and press ENTER . Number is the number of the hard disk where you want to reduce; the hard drive is now selected.

    (e) type det disk , and then press ENTER .

    (f) type salt volume number and press ENTER . Number is the number of the volume that we want to reduce

    (g) type shrink desired = 1000 (reduced the volume of 1000 Mb) and wait until the action is performed

If this does not work, please repost your question in the xp forum. It's vista forum

  • Change to larger hard drives in Raid 1

    Hello

I have a PowerEdge R710 with 4 x 250 GB, SATA, 7,200 Hotswap TPM. Operating system is Windows SBS 2011. The drives running in Raid 1. A disk with the operating system and a disk with data and the other two discs are then the mirror disks.

I want to change the discs at 4 x 600 GB SAS 15,000 rpm disks.

My plan is to start with the data disk. Replace the drive with a new one, then wait for the reconstruction of the mirror and then swap the other drive and wait for the mirror to rebuild again. Then go to disk management in Windows Server and expand the disk at full capacity.

    But this procedure is possible?

And if not - otherwise, how can I change the hard drives of larger size?

    Kind regards

Is based on the backup software and type. If your software is capable of recovering "bare metal", there should not be a problem. If you just make a copy of the score, then no, it does not start.

  • Satellite A10: Want to upgrade 80 GB HARD drive

I have a Samsung MP0804H 80 GB hard drive that I would like to install in my A10 satellite to replace the 40 GB of factory drive. The Samsung Player dimensions are 37 "x 3.94" X 2.75 "and there and interface ATA - 6." Before the opening of the A10, does anyone know if the Samsung drive is comaptible?

Also, are there any help documents that describe the disk replacement procedure? I want to mirror the 40 GB to 80 GB via USB and then swap but don't know if it's as simple as that.

    JK

    Hello

As far as I know this unit is about 3 years old and I really don t know what max took HARD drive capacity supported by the BIOS. Unfortunately there is no public document upgrae HARD disk, but I assume that 60 GB should work without any problem. Perhaps 80 GB also, but I'm not sure.

You may be lucky and someone else will report on successfully A30 computer portable HARD drive upgrade. Please also check option of advanced search on this forum. You may find a few interesting on cell A10.

Before you exchange the HARD disk, you can try to do image own facilities using an application like Norton Ghost. This image, you can install on a HARD drive created new partition. In my opinion, it's easier to have absolutely the same installation of the laptop.

  • 750-103D want: I want to install a 3rd HARD drive but the system will not start

Desktop motherboard has 5 heads SATA (of which 2 were used for the first DvD and HARD disk in the original Setup) and the box has 3 bays for HARD drive, but there is no additional power from the PSU cable.

I installed a new SSD as my main and designated record the 1 TB of HARD drive that came with the desktop as my secondary school and office works just great.

Now I tried to install an another 1.5 TB HARD drive for storage. I used a SATA power cable Y (1 male to 2 females) to extend the existing cable. However, to my great disappointment, the system is unable to start up. I guess that supply POWER 300 watts current is insufficient to start 3 disks to a single supply with extension cable.

    Issues related to the:

1] sells HP a 500-watt power supply with power cable for SATA 3 HARD drive?

[2] is a compatible power supply on the market (ie. not HP) who can stand in 750-103D envy? Brand/model and how much?

    Thank you.

    Hello

Probably, you have misunderstood my response.  Unplug the original HD boot drive.

Your question is not the power supply lack of insufficient power.  I have observed remains with HP computers with a power supply that would support three HDs off a 300 Watt SATA power cable voltage.

Perhaps the third HD is formatted incorrectly or is defective.  The other possibility is that your SATA Y cable connection is defective.  You also need good 5V and 12V.  In addition, if you have made any hardware changes to your PC you have not indicated, then it is possible that you may need a bigger power supply.
